Also I am convinced of two things about Chen Pingping:

- his wheelchair is so heavy because it’s full of secrets explosives activated by that button under one of the chair arms

- he is going to explode the chair and go out in a blaze of glory and take the emperor out with him

There’s definitely SOMETHING in that chair given the many references to its weight in s2, but admittedly the rest of this is based on Vibes. But I do think that man secretly hates the emperor with everything he’s got. When he was talking about how someone can wait decades for revenge and Fan Xian was like, this sounds like it’s coming from your heart… it pretty clearly was. And I don’t know who else he can have hated so much for so long without having been able to do something about it already.

Also I’ve just rewatched the start of s1, and there’s the exchange between Chen Pingping and Wu Zhu about Ye Qingmei’s death that basically goes:

Wu Zhu: Everyone in the capital wanted her dead. Where were you and your Black Knights when she was killed?

CPP: I was following orders. … Oh… you think someone was behind it?

Surely no one but the emperor could’ve got Chen Pingping and his very efficient army away from the capital just in time for them to be unable to help Ye Qingmei. Yes, the empress says she was behind her death, and yes, the empress also says the emperor spilled rivers of blood in response and unleashed the Black Knights to massacre her entire family… But this emperor can contain multitudes of plans and feelings. He can have known the empress and her people were planning the murder. He can have made sure Ye Qingmei didn’t have the Inspection Bureau’s support at this critical time. He can have been genuinely distraught, because he loved Ye Qingmei and valued her but felt her death was a bitter necessity for the kingdom and his power over it. He can have grieved her and used the freshly returned Black Knights to lash out at the empress and her clan for having dared to act against him and his (even if they only succeeded because he allowed it). He can have been, at the same time, pleased to have the excuse to get rid of the empress’s burdensome family and make sure they wouldn’t make waves in court ever again.

Plans within plans, ruthless calculations mixed with genuine feelings—I’m sure that in one way or another the emperor must’ve been responsible for Ye Qingmei’s death. And Chen Pingping had been planning his revenge ever since.

Today's dump thought is another Disney!Hades&Persephone prompt that I probably won't continue beyond this post. So let's get started!

I think we've had enough of the "Beauty and the Beast" trope, don't you think? How about ✨️Fake Dating✨️?

Now why would they want to pull that? Simple. Each had something to gain from this "alliance".

The Olympians can't bar Hades from going around Olympus as long as he's with Persephone. And he probably is up to no good scouring the mountain, but they can't just throw him out without putting Persephone in a bad light as well. So, naturally, they won't do that; no one wants to upset Demeter's "little girl" and risk getting on her bad side after all.

And Persephone wants the freedom to roam around without her mother's constant hovering. While Demeter is not that overbearing, Seph can't deny the fact that her mother can be a bit too much sometimes. + being at the arm of one of The Big 3 means that she won't have to make up excuses anymore whenever Apollo or Ares try to ask her out on dates (not that she has a problem with Apollo per se, he's just not her type; Ares 'tho, she could do without).

Now the circumstances of their meeting and the beginning of this "partnership" I haven't thought about, but I can tell you this much: he fell first and harder, but she brought out his best qualities (the ones that eventually won her over).

Cold: So what's the issue with her? Giganta: The issue is, fitting gimmick or not, fighting her is a pain in the ass because that woman has got the absolute most volatile, vicious temper I've seen in my goddamn life, and even if you OBVIOUSLY have got a battle of giants theme going on, the second she gets even slightly impatient or annoyed she's going to grow to half a mile tall and kick you so hard that you'll end up leaving atmosphere. Cold: That is INCREDIBLY specific. Is this from personal experience. Giganta: Maybe. I'm thinking about sending a apology basket to Wonder Woman for all the times we fought, having a giant shoeprint scar in your gut hurts like hell and now I feel bad for doing that to her, maybe.
