This is a companion to my fic No Goodbyes.

TK Strand and Carlos Reyes spent years thinking they didn’t deserve happiness, or even a future. But they did – they always did – and now they have it with each other, they can make sure TK’s little brother has a happy future too.

Jonah frowns up at Carlos, sensing his shift in mood, but Carlos grins at him, which means everything is okay. Jonah mimics the grin in the mirror. “Will my teeth be as big as yours one day, Cawlos?” This gets a loud laugh out of him. “One day, yes,” Carlos says. Jonah giggles but he’s not sure he’s fully comfortable with the idea. They are awfully large. Carlos notices that Jonah’s little backpack isn’t fully zipped up, so he zips it. “Thank you,” Jonah says perfectly. It makes Carlos ache. Jonah’s speech is coming along beautifully, but for some reason he still remains Cawlos Weyes. Soon, that will fade too, and he will be Carlos Reyes. He’ll nearly cry at his desk when he tells Sam that Jonah can properly pronounce his Rs and THs now. “Don’t worry, brother, I understand,” Sam ‘Four Kids’ Campbell will say, making a big, loud thing about passing him a box of Kleenex.

"Wow, time to start painting already?"

"Well, we had to paint the walls eventually! Sad beige doesn't suit either of us."

"I know, I just figured you two would take another month to decide!"

Nezha didn't think the beige walls were sad, but he did agree that they needed a bit more color to them. They decided to do the living room first since it tends to be occupied the most.

Wukong and Nezha chose to follow different premade color palettes for each room, otherwise they'd surely go crazy from the options. The living room's color palette was called "soft energy" and lived up to the name in their opinion.

Nezha: *standing on a ladder* I'm glad this wall has built-in shelves and cupboards. Difficult to paint, but it will be nice to have items on display.

SWK: Agreed. Have you chosen a color for your room yet, Peony?

RS: I just found a nice gray color and figured I'd paint my room that later.

Nezha: Boo!

RS: WHAT?!

Nezha: Boo! That's no fun!

RS: It's just a color!

Nezha: Tell that to the color theory expert sitting on the floor over there. *points to Wukong with his brush*

SWK: *finger-painting pictures on the wall* Yep, colors can affect your mood and other things without you even noticing. That's why we chose the colors we did. To make us feel happy and cozy at home.

RS: What are those colors again?

Nezha: I'm painting the background Gingham, and I think Wukong's using Apricot?

SWK: In a minute I will be. Right now I'm using Minty to do the wall trimmings.

RS: Glad we decided to put you in painting garments, Uncle. You're making quite a mess of yourself.

SWK: At least it's not gray. :3

RS: *sighs* Where's Pekoe and the others anyway? Did they leave you to fend for yourselves already?

Nezha: No, they're just at work or tending to their own home.

SWK: No offense to them, but I like it when it's just the three of us home.

Nezha: As do I, I've missed having you home Red Son.

RS: I was only gone for a week!

Nezha: Has it only been a week?

SWK: *annoyed* Oh for Buddha's sake, I don't know. Heaven's time-warping thing is really messing with me.

Nezha: Myself as well. It's always either too fast or too slow. But don't worry dear, it's helped more often than it's hurt.

SWK: At least until July.

Nezha: What was that dear?

SWK: Nothing.

Nezha: *motions for Red Son to leave*

RS: *takes the hint and leaves*

Nezha: *steps down from the ladder and walks over to Wukong* What's the matter, love?

SWK: ... *starts tearing up* I don't want you to be gone for a month. I just... I don't!

Nezha: Oh, come here my darling. I don't want to leave you either, but I'm afraid I must. It is my duty. It is also how put food on the table.

SWK: I mean, I know that. But still, it's so long! *starts crying*

Nezha: *holds him close* I know, my dear Mushroom. I'm not excited about it either. I will miss you greatly. But I will always be with you in spirit, for we are one.

SWK: *sobbing* Always.

Actually, now that he thought about it, gray was rather boring. Red Son didn't initially care about his room all that much since he rarely spent time in whichever room was considered his in any of the places he lived.

But the bedroom, and by extension the rest of their house, felt like a much more important concept to both of his uncles, so maybe he should put at least a little more thought into it.

Red Son decided to call MK about it.

MK: *over the phone* Hey, you called?

RS: Yes, I'm in my room at Wukong's house and wondered if you had any ideas as to what color I should paint it.

MK: I don't know... do you have a favorite color?

RS: ...

MK: You okay?

RS: I honestly don't know if I have a favorite color...

MK: Are you okay?

RS: What color are peonies?

MK: Uhhhhh, don't know, let me look it up.

*two minutes of MK making random noises to fill the silence as he searched later*

MK: Okay, so they're usually white, pink, and/or red, but they can be yellow, kinda corally, and even purple. The different colors have different meanings too.

RS: Hold on, I have to ask my uncle something, be right back.

RS: *dashes into the living room* Uncle, what color peony am I?

SWK: Yellow... why?

RS: Thanks, I'll explain later. *dashes back into his room*

RS: *picks up the phone again* It's yellow.

MK: What's yellow?

RS: My uncle assigned me yellow peonies.

MK: Like the flowers?

RS: Of course the flowers! What else would my uncle have selected? Do you know anything about him at all?

MK: With how you and your family tell me about him, I guess I don't...

RS: Oh.

MK: But... that's okay... it means I get to know him all over again. Or maybe for the first time... it's kinda hard to tell...

RS: Well, just so you know, my uncle assigns flowers to the people he loves. He assigned me the peony when I was still a baby. Didn't find out until just now that it was specifically the yellow peony.

MK: Awww, that's nice. I wonder if I have one.

RS: I'm sure you do, I'll ask him about it later. Right now I'm going to have lunch and then head to the store to get a good shade of yellow.

MK: Okay, bye, love you!

RS: Love you too. *makes smoochy noises at him* Bye darling. *hangs up*

ooooooo i love rs!ink he's so cute......could you, perhaps, speak about him a little more?? (I've heard he's very similar to Lilo too, would love to hear about his childhood a lil' bit more👀)

Sure! This gives me a chance to also say publicly that RoseVerse!Ink is CANONICALLY AUTISTIC. I stated this in the QNA livestream I did a while back, but I know not everyone watched that as it was mostly chaos. Most characters in Roseverse are not giving canon mental illnesses or mental disorders because anyone can project themselves onto these characters and find traits they can relate to. For example, Killer has no canon mental disorder and is only based on my experience as a 15 year old. Whatever you see fit to fit his mental health is uo to viewer interpretation. But Ink is one of the few exceptions to this as he is canonically autistic.

Now with that out of the way, what was Ink’s childhood like? This will be long!! Prepare!

Ink was created at three years old and was nonverbal up until he was seven. He hardly used sign language besides signing to show he was hungry, he wanted more of something, or to say yes or no. Error and Nightmare were always worried about this, and they did not have the resources to see a doctor to have help in figuring out why Ink wasn’t talking. They had to do with what they could, and learned to work with Ink’s lack of speech. He is capable of more sign language, and does use it when he wants to have a conversation, but that is not until he gets closer to six, where he gets more interested in joining in on talks.

Ink from the ages of 3-5 was very all over the place. He was blunt, and had many outbursts and meltdowns due to Error and Nightmare simply not knowing how to handle an autistic child. While he could not verbally communicate, he would get very frustrated if he wasn’t understood, and often resorted to tantrums and throwing his toys or food when he would want something and Error and Nightmare had no idea what to supply. He also was touch repulsed between the ages of 4-6, and preferred to do his own thing. He’d ignore when people would try to talk to him if he wasn’t in the mood for it, and Error and Nightmare learned to leave it at that. What he tended to do was draw, finger paint, solo play with toys, and sort things. Error once stole him many markers, and rather than jump to draw, he spent hours reorganizing them over and over into different shades and colors. (Based on a experience of my own childhood lol)

Error and Nightmare worked with Ink’s needs and unintentionally created a household perfect for neurodivergent children. The lights were dim, safe food was always in stock, loud noises were kept to a minimum, and Ink was given headphones and comfortable clothes to help his meltdowns.

When he hit seven, he finally started to speak verbally, and then never shut up LMAO. He also became hungry for touch, and was often jumping at Nightmare at random (since he knew Error couldn’t handle it) and climbing all over him. While with Error, he always made his presence known before latching on and not letting go for hours. However, he tended to like Nightmare’s hugs the most, since he’d place his tentacles over him and make a little cocoon of safety. This is also when he got the burst of curiosity for the outside and would run through the woods and grab random animals from trees and bring them home (much to Error’s horror). Think Ame from Wolf Children. That was very much how he was. A wild child who was always getting cuts and bruises but smiling big. Once, he even snapped his arm falling from a tree while in the care of Reaper, and Nightmare and Error couldn’t heal him enough. He forever sports a scar on his arm but continues to climb trees anyways.

When he got a bit older, ages 9-10, he mellowed out a bit with the understanding of his powers. Nightmare helped him a lot with the control of his abilities and magic, and with that came maturity and peace. He preferred to keep the house tidy and fetch dinner still, but in a much calmer way. He’d go out and catch fish or use his magic to catch squirrels. He’d always come home at a good time and would help Errror around the house. He wasn’t as loud and excitable, especially since he became aware of who he was supposed to be at ten, and had to come to terms with the fact that Error was meant to be his competitor, and they were breaking those rules.

Overall, he grows a lot and becomes a child Error and Nightmare are proud of.

Then, on his eleventh birthday, he disappears.

Tragic, truly. It’s a mystery of what happened to the poor kid.

I know it happened in the story in a way, but I wanted to see hee confront him and tell him everything he’s done because, Lord, he has done so so so so much. For them to really talk about it, I don't know how she could just be so nice to him after everything he did and how he treated her, etc., and for him to be regretful and suffer more! Get on his knees and beg as well 😗

Eleven and I had known each other for as long as I could remember. Back in the lab, she was all I had. We became siblings, in some unspoken way, and I was grateful to have her.

Now that we had gotten out, and spent some time living with Hopper and getting to know the world as it was, not as the lies we were told, she was becoming distant.

I didn’t understand. After everything we had been through, she had just… left me. I wasn’t sure if she was even aware, or if she cared. I just felt really alone sometimes.

I was glad for Maxine. Or Max, as she liked to be called. She had taken me in, and was a year older than I was. She helped me learn new things about the world, and filled me in on the things I missed. Of course Hopper helped too, but I had more fun with Max.

“You haven’t heard her music before?” Max looked appalled, like she couldn’t believe she forgot to show me. “How could I miss that?” She mumbled to herself, reaching across her nightstand to grab her Walkman.

I watched as she put in a tape, and allowed her to put the headphones over my ears. The sound of Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill blasted in my ears, and after listening to a minute of the song, I decided I loved it.

I beamed at Max, listening to the catchy melody and watching as she grinned back at me. She watched as I nodded my head to the music, listening to the song the entire way through.

When it ended, I took off the headphones. “I love it.” I said simply, but I meant every word.

“I have so many more that I know you’d like.” She said with more enthusiasm than I expected, but I was glad I could make her happy.

And that was how we spent the rest of our day. It was a perfect day, but my mood was dampened when I got back to Hopper’s house, finding my sister waiting in the living room.

With Hopper gone for the night, it was just us.

“El?” I asked. It was clear to me that she was waiting for me to arrive.

“Can we talk?” She asked. I simply nodded. “I wanted to apologize.” She admitted. She said her words slower than most would, like I always did. We learned basic English at a slower rate than everyone else did due to growing up in the lab.

I knew what she was apologizing for, but still, I asked, “why?”

“I’ve been ignoring you.” She said. “I’ve been hanging out with Mike more. I’m sorry.”

I frowned. That was all I wanted to hear, and it meant a lot that she had realized before I even had to say anything. I wanted to tell her that it was okay, but it really hurt me, so I didn’t.

Instead, I asked, “does this mean we can hang out more?”

Eleven smiled softly. “Yes.”

She pulled me into a tight hug, and didn’t let go.

I breathed out a sigh of relief. Now, I had two sisters.

Well... watching a movie without shirts sure is much more interesting. I can't blame Vada for suggesting that. It adds to the experience and further enhances the viewing pleasure

💀 Wednesday is not a fan of pet names in general but baby? Nah. If it weren't R she would annihilate whoever said that. I love how literal Wednesday is.

Honestly a jealous Wednesday is incredibly hot but her deadpan personality is just so funny

"We are going to copulate" OMFG THAT TOOK ME OUT. How the fuck did Wednesday manage to think of the weirdest and most hilarious synonym for sex and use it in such a serious/what should be sexy situation.

Dominant Wednesday is everything. There's nothing hotter honestly. But I really can't get over copulate. That really made me laugh out loud. Wednesday definitely needs to take a flirting class cause that ain't it.

Pitchfork Day 1

ERIC EGGLESON

It's been a while since Dagger covered this Chicago festival. 12 years ago, Tim joined me and wrote about his highlights of the fest. Now it's my turn. Driving in on 290, it's always a "pleasure" when I hit the Hillside Strangler. Unfortunately, that made me miss Chicago's supergroup Black Duck. Maybe next time.

Chicago's Angry Blackmen did their best to insight the crowd, as small as it was, on the Red Stage(RS) by getting them to chant "Black," while they yelled "Angry." They even started a little earlier than their 2pm time slot. The sound was filled with their DJ's mixing.

Next up, ML Buch calmed things down resulting in quite the contrast on the Green Stage(GS). A softer, but beautiful-sounding female duo with some recorded tracks, but I loved the live, gorgeous harmonies. It was a set filled with the rise and fall of many moods, but delivered very well with electronic drums/beats, two keyboards, and a guitar.

Over at the Blue Stage(BS), (also the stage with the most shade)Rosali took another route. Twangy Americana/Alt-Country filled their sound. The four-piece played new songs to be released in March, along with some older stuff. A tight full band with killer guitar solos and excellent vocals to highlight their songwriting skills.

TKay Maidza's entrance to Pitchfork misfired due to technical difficulties, but that didn't stop her mix of Hip Hop, like "Grasshopper," and smooth R&B, like "Cashmere," from reaching the crowd. TKay and her DJ continued to please the crowd with "24k" and "What Ya Know." And then a cover of the Pixies' "Where is My Mind?" really threw me off. TKay and her DJ continued to rev up the crowd with "Ghost!" and "Ring-A-Ling." A great set in the rising heat; unfortunately, the crowd wasn't as big as it should have been.

Over to the BS, Doss was DJing up a storm, uh, well maybe a heat storm. It was an amazing mix of sounds that pleased the crowd, even if it was a small one. Doss definitely showed some skills I haven't seen since my college days.

I took a dinner break, so I only caught snippets of billy woods and Kenny Segal on the RS. Lots of echoed screaming over tribal beats.

I chose Amen Dunes on the BS over Yaeji. Decided it was time to see a live band rather than another DJ. Amen Dunes delivered. Very tight band, thanks to the sound crew. (That's one thing to point out, the sound was great all day!) The band's set delivered many songs off of their new album Death Jokes, with some older ones thrown in. I kept getting a Simple Minds vibe, which isn't a bad thing.

Back to the GS, 100 gecs came out with a bang. It's now 6:15, and the crowd is starting to fill up. Starting with "Dumbest Girl Alive" was just what the crowd needed. (I was reminded of another Pitchfork favorite from years ago, Sleigh Bells.) The duo, singing with tracks, did a great job of getting the crowd fired up. I lost interest with "Frog on the Floor" with its Specials-sounding keyboards, but was pulled back in with "Hollywood Baby" (another Sleigh Bells-sounding song).

Back to the BS for Sudan Archives. Yes, it was another artist singing to tracks. To give her credit, she did bust out her violin to show her skills. Again the crowd loved her and proof that Pitchfork has, once again, delivered rising artists that need to be heard. I headed out after this to get ready for...

I'm watching a movie from St*r W*rs sequel trilogy for the first time.

I'm genuinely impressed how bad it is.

I mean, it doesn't even TRY to be its own story. It relies consequently on audience already knowing the story, already knowing characters and already being invested. Without audience doing a lot of work on their own it has almost no glue. I'm sure I've seen cabaret festivals with less wild mood swings between different performers than this has between scenes.

Also, the scenes with sad dramatic music have incredibly weakass philosophy. Like... wow, so much to unpack. Was this written on purpose to show that seemingly wise mentor is full of shit and denial and he deals with the guilt in an incredibly unhealthy way and makes a whole philosophy out of it? For a moment I'm inclined to assume that yes, it was on purpose, and then protagonist girl and pretty darklord meet in their special mentalspace and it goes full teenage dark romance in a way that seems to suggest that this shitty unpacked guilt-ridden philosphy is the intended wisdom

There's something so incredibly shallow and disrespectful in all of this. All of it REEKS with the kind of poetry that always has flowers but never malva or mugwort or yellowcress or any actual living flower a living person can actually encounter. Big abstract words and schematics only.

At least some jokes are good.

I'm interested to know what your writing process is like! I know you have several wips right now (and I'm so excited to get to read them hopefully in the future) so how do you choose what to work on? Do you just write on the wip depending on your mood for the day? or do you stick to one until you finish it and then move on to the next one? Do you also do outlines or just go in with feelings?

I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS QUESTION SINCE I MADE MY RETROSPRING ANON I QUITE LITERALLY LOVE YOU (yes... i am an attention whore and narcissist that likes talking about myself i am so sorry) but . um. sorry i get excited. i just like chatting and discussing things 🥹🥹

so one thing about me is i TRY to choose what to work on and make lists but i ultimately fail. i don't control shit. you will see my tweet about wip lists on twt "i will finish gumakeria aml spinoff for valentines day" no im fucking not. "ok i work on this in march, this during summer..." no i absolutely wont. im not listening to a thing. i just work on whatever im inspired by atm. its all very messy and uncoordinated. i have wips from last year i haven't finished, yet i have a published fic that i thought of and completed in two weeks (??). make it make sense. some of my older wips need to be let out of the dungeon i nEED to work on them. SOME OF THEM DONT EVEN MAKE SENSE TO BE RELEASED ANYMORE BECAUSE ITS LIKE TIME-RELATED AND my own self ruined that. like i have 2023 summer fics in the works. i could've written and released them during worlds?? but no i worked on aml instead. by the time i release those time-relevant fics its going to be so long ago. will anyone care about them? should i even write them at this point? i don't know. :| why am i a mess. my mind is literally a mess. why do i do this to myself.

so yeah, i just choose to work on based on vibes/how i feel which leads to a lot of fics in the dungeon. i will eventually get re-inspired and finish those, but who knows how long that's going to take. i do work on one wip at a time pretty much, but not necessarily until i finish it. oftentimes ill choose an idea and finish it then move onto the next one, but like i said, sometimes i will abandon said wip to go work on and finish another. i have like 10k of a camp half blood au rotting in the dungeon. also 8k of this piltover au gumaoner ive been trying to finish since may of last year. longfics also fuck up my schedule a bit because of how... long they are. i usually work on them consistently for quite a while and work on other smaller fics in the meantime. i think i started the hunger games au in may of 2023? im not even close to done because i kinda jotted down the starting ideas, didn't touch it until november (so, after i finished writing "all my love"), and then like didnt touch it all of worlds bc i was pissed off at it. then i picked it up again in 2024 (rewriting all 50k i had written previously) and that's what im working on in the background rn. "background" as in i will put it aside if i have a shorter fic idea to work on and quickly publish. like i abandoned it for 2 weeks to work on the kindred showmaker&chovy fic. you see what i mean?

all my wips typically start with an idea and one or two lines of dialogue. ("imagine being loved by me" started with the two lines "where do i belong / with me, of course.") or i'll listen to music to get an idea which the lines/scene then spawn from, or i see some picture of some proplayer (keria with "don't blame me") ill jot them on a google doc or a discord server, and then when im inspired ill expand on it, and eventually finish it! a lot of my scene ideas happen in my head before writing. sometimes ill think whole scenes through in my head, including dialogue and actions, before putting it to paper (or, document on the computer i guess). other times it just comes as i write. sometimes i write fics in one sitting ("homemade dynamite") but most of the time its longer than that, whether it be a week or like, months lol.

as for outlines, i do not use outlines. barely, anyway. honestly, outlines would probably help me a lot! i used them twice i think (both recent fics, huh), once with "take a bite" because fluff is so fucking hard to write i needed help, and another time with "the mouth of the wolf, the eyes of the lamb" because i wrote the ending for that fic first and needed help filling it in. but yeah, generally no outlines. oftentimes i have a whole detail of the story in my head to begin with, or i just write and sees what comes out. again, i am not organized in the least. rip me.

i also... don't write chronologically as you might've been able to tell. i like bounce between wips and scenes. the very first scene of aml i wrote was actually the scene of wooje driving the mustang again for the first time in chapter one! typically, like i said, my wip ideas will start with a few scene, and only once i have those down will i write chronologically to link up the other scenes and complete the fic!

soo i hope that sort of like explained/gave you some insight on my very messy writing process (i have a very messy brain.) as a parting gift i will give you a wip list that i will definitely not follow. do not fucking trust me. 1. hunger games au. 2. worlds fakenut. 3. yeah why am i making a list im not going to follow it. Just Me Trying to be More Grateful

jadi beberapa hari yang lalu aku memutuskan untuk kembali merutinkan journaling, sebenernya untuk laporan ke psikiater jadi biar dia bisa memantau perkembanganku lewat tulisanku. tapi oh ternyata, perjuangan kontrol di poli jiwa di jogja tu struggle nya masyaa Allah banget. aku ga tau kan awalnya referensi RS mana dan psikiater siapa yang rekomen. long story short, saat ini aku nyoba di rs condong catur setelah kapok dan dibikin naik pitam sama rsa ugm karena birokrasi yang super ribet. meanwhile rs concat meskipun pelayanan oke, tp psikiaternya ga ngajak ngobrol cuman ngasi resep obat dan mantau efek obat ke aku nya gimana. not that kind of psychiatrist I excpected sih, apalagi ada 1 jenis obat yang harus bayar kalo di rs ini. bikin hftttt banget ga si. mana aku udah bikin ringkasan ceritaku niatnya kukasihin ke dia eh g ajadi karena dianya ga ada tanda2 buat ngajak ngobrol so ya udah just for privacy aja.

well, sebagaimana judul tulisan ini aku ingin mencoba merutinkan grateful journaling,alhamdulillah today has been goood enough for me becauuuse:

i managed to go home, minggu pagi balik magelang besok senin pagi harus udah otw jogja lagi, ga papa meskipun capek dan sempet drop, tapi again bismillah niat lillah untuk lebih bisa deket sama bapak.

beberes rumah bapak yang seperti biasa kalo aku tinggal pasti berantakan di mana-mana, tapi aku bersyukur aku beresinnya dengan mood yang ga amburadul kaya seringnya sebelumnya hehe, ya gimana kesabaranku cuman sebatas selembar tisu 1 lapis hehe

beli jajan, bapak pengen es teles, aku pengen mie ayam, jadi ya udah deh siang-siang meskipun panas gas aja ke area alun-alun nyari yang dimau, alhamdulillah dapat, bapak suka es telernya, dan aku kekenyangan terus ketiduran sampe sore

rencana jam 3 an mau jogging tapi qadarullah ujan, ya udah tidur aja ye kan meskipun tidurku ga nyaman, efek kopi apa ya.

tapi sekitar jam setengah 5 kurang udah terang gitu cus lah shalat ashar terus prepare jogging, aku HAPPY karena dapet jogging 2 km 1 km an jalan, terus sit up 10x (pagi dah abs workout sih jadi ini bonus aja)

aku mengiming-imingi bapak martabah telur jadinya habis magrib cus beli, makan bareng bapak again di rumah alhamdulillah kerasa warm meskipun kondisi bapakku ya gitu wahamnya ga ketulungan

iya bapak masih waham, aku masi kebingungan sih gimana ngadepinnya, kadang kalo masi intro aku masi bisa counter balik, tapi kalo waham bapak udah mulai deep, dahlah kalah aing mending cari topik lain ato biarin doi diem sendiri, karena AKU KESEL juga wkwkk.

intinya alhamdulillah untuk setiap momen pada hari ini yang terlewati. motoran sambil dengerin guyon waton yang bikin makin ambyar tapi gappapa aku udah kuat. juga seringnya motoran sambil dengerin album barunya mbak @taylorswift TTPD, which resonates me alot like YES, I CAN DO IT WITH a BROKEN HEART, BEIBS!!

Sanjay Leela Bhansali puts Baiju Bawra on hold; Rs. 350 crore budget creates a roadblock

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's journey with Baiju Bawra has been full of ups and downs over the years. The filmmaker announced this musical revenge drama in the pre-pandemic times and soon from there, roped in Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt to play the leads. He was then in talks with Deepika Padukone to play the dacoit, but the conversations fizzled out.

The world was struck by the pandemic then and Bhansali resumed casting for the film once things settled down. The director got into a discussion with Kiara Advani and Nayanthara to play the part of a dacoit. Just when he was on the verge of locking his cast, SLB got the shock of his life as the subject of the film was not getting approval from the studios. "Sanjay Leela Bhansali wishes to make Baiju Bawra the biggest musical of Indian Cinema and the budget for his magnum opus is approx. Rs. 350 crores. When SLB went with the project to the studios, they felt the budget was too high," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

Some of the studios asked SLB to tone down the cost of the film. "While both Ranveer and Alia were signed for amounts lower than their market value out of love and respect for SLB, the studios felt that in today's market, investing Rs. 350 crores on a musical like Baiju Bawra was not a financially prudent move in the post-pandemic world. SLB wasn't in the mood to compromise on his vision and hence has decided to put the film on hold," the source told Bollywood Hungama further.

Bhansali is now revisiting the scripts in his cupboard and will be starting an altogether new film by Summer 2024. Inshallah in the forefront, but that's only if Shah Rukh Khan says yes to the film. If not Inshallah, SLB has multiple other scripts lined up that are in the position of going on floors.
