It's defo tricky because it's a former romance scenario that pretty much parallels canon. Butterflies that unfortunately crumpled and died because it's a relationship built on means to an end.

It plays much how it does in canon -- Backupsmore, Gravity Falls, a bump in his research. He meets this knowledgeable deity who has chosen him amongst the many figures in history to enlighten. It's wine, karaoke, and chess until Stanford hears about Will's plight of a dying dimension. Of course, he sees opportunity rather than just helping him, a chance to see more entities like Will & more. He sees an untapped potential in multiversal travel.

This is also around the time he started dabbling in dark magic, like finding the amulet (which Will was like. yo maybe stay away from that???). So his mental health is deteriorating because Stanford has to explore every aspect of it (this is also a verse he leaned into magic instead of science, think the opposite of him poking fun at it in the journal). He works on the portal alongside Fiddleford.

It's rough on Will's end because he sees potential in Stanford to better & enlighten the world, but he becomes power-driven, and Will is holding out hope he'll pick the better choice in spite of what the prophecy says. It didn't end well for either of them, a fight to keep the Oddpocalypse at bay before the Gleeful twins incident.

Will thinks Stanford has deluded himself & is obviously hurt to find he's been used, but disappointed this is the path Ford's chosen. Ford meanwhile sees this as a penultimate betrayal in the same way canon Bill does because he sees nothing wrong with what he's after. And he thinks Will, his muse, has abandoned him.

Did Ford have feelings for Will? Probably! Butterflies before the mere mention of the portal, but it's not something he realized until he lost him, overtaken by ambition and replaced by bitterness. Will has lingering feelings but between the world and Ford, he's choosing the world.

They still very much maintain the bitter exes trope but it's less angry and more sad and mourning. They're not mad, just disappointed. If Ford had been in love, then he tells himself he's wasted such feelings on people who will only abandon him. Meanwhile Will is just: 'I just don't want you to destroy your world?' which is a plan Ford could stop at anytime but he doesn't. He wants weirdness to be embraced but doesn't know what that entails.

I'd say if there's anything between them present day, it's extremely distant and cut off because they've both been 'burned' by each other.

Well, well, well. Guess who's not a total failure after all? Spoiler: it’s me.

After my final year results came out, the reactions were... dramatic.I was suddenly “the disappointment,” the one who’d “wasted potential” and “ruined the family name.” People practically lined up to offer my parents condolences. Some even implied I hadn’t studied at all (yes, people do make some absurd assumptions).

Fast forward to now: 10 universities—yes, ten—have sent me acceptance letters.These are top 20 in the country and they picked me after interviews. Interviews, people. Meaning I actually had to speak and convince real humans that I wasn’t useless. Imagine!

Now the same people who wrote me off are saying how proud they are. Ah, how the tables turn. (Some were genuinely kind during both the mess and the magic—thank you, truly.)

So, here’s the thing: one bad result doesn’t define you. It’s just one chapter. Maybe not a great one, but hey, we love a redemption arc.

Anyway, I’ve cleared out a lot of life mess recently and starting tomorrow (or whenever my laziness allows), I’ll be posting more often. Stay tuned, or don’t. I’ll be here either way.

Zane being used as a fucking battery for Unagmi to get into the real world, and him walking it off like it's nothing fills me with so much viisceral rage it's unbelievable

What the FUCK do you mean he's fine??! Did you not see him literally pass out and wake up with an immediate inhale like he was drowning or something???

You don't just walk off being used as a battery, and no amount of cartoon logic will make me think otherwise ESPECIALLY seeing also how he seemingly walked off the whole Ice Emperor shit as well (until Quest for the Lost Powers)

Like, at the very least have him go into a panicked terrified franzy because according to him it felt exactly like his Sacrifice against the Overlord

Or if you wanna go all our just have it wipe all of his damn memories and make him start as a person all over again, even then that still works better if you make it a post Ice-chapter consequence

And even those besides, you could do soooooo much with Zane and consequences and the shit he goes through...

Sadly, Iam caught up with canon and the horrendous rollercoaster that is gege akutami's creative writing choices. I know I don't rant much about jjk but I honestly plan to start doing that, I am just busy at the moment and I am making character analysis and all before ranting about leaks like I do with MHA.

In all honesty I have always had problems with gege's writing here and there but they have never been big enough until we reached the culling games and the nonsense that happens after it.

The 261 leaks are disastrous and a huge disappointment. Look I really don't mind if Gojo came back or died but I truly despise the way he chose to make yuta hella overpowered. I did like the fact that we got an acknowledgement of how society has dehumanised Gojo by making him the strongest but you would think that a story about the younger generation breaking cycles they wouldnt choose another hierarchy type system but in the end they do? Yuta coming back in gojos body was what I hated most really like I liked yuta acknowledging gojos feelings and all but Dam I don't know what gege was thinking here.

Iam afraid that gege has forgotten about megumi and nobara. Like Iam pretty sure megumi has taken a lot of damage so him coming out miraculously unscathed would just be bs plot armour and all. On the other hand, the way you're telling me after like 100+ chapters of no mention of Todo he comes back? And then we just forget completely about nobara?!?!?! It's infuriating.

Also my final mention is what gege truly plans with yuji itadori. Look I get that geges writing of his MC doesn't follow the traditional shonen MC formula which is something I really like but I genuinely expected for yuji to be the one to fight from right on here and we get more of megumi (heck even insert nobara) instead we get yuji sidelined and we get yuta in gojos body. At least if it was nobara coming into the battle of would at least work because she is close to yuji and it's basically the trio reuniting with eachother in a cruel way.

Welp I just finished The Worst of Evil & I gotta say, I'm disappointed.

First of all, we've seen way worse when it comes to crime dramas/movies so I feel like the title is misleading. Yeah ppl got hurt/murdered but there were so many situations where ppl should've been murdered, would've been murdered if it were real life, but they were allowed to walk away freely w/a beating & a "don't show your face again". Like if you're gonna take out a gang you gotta take out a gang. You can't purposely let ppl that you betrayed & whose friends & bosses you've killed just run away. Especially after they try to get revenge on you by teaming up with/turning your allies against you multiple times. Messy. Some situations where just plain ridiculous.

Second, the ending...what the hell when the hell-? Since when did Junmo form any type of bond w/Gi Cheol?? Like I understand it from Gi Cheol's pov, Junmo saved him so many times & put his life on the line. But the whole time Junmo was only focused on doing what needed to be done to end the investigation quickly. He manipulated multiple situations to accomplish this, even manipulated Gi Cheol. Not once did I see affection, empathy, or regret from J towards him. Then all of a sudden at the very end we get this flashback of them walkin about town looking at each other like they're best buds...what?? As if J truly enjoyed his time w/him being a criminal & wasn't immensely stressed & traumatized the whole time. Maybe it's just me but that was very forced & last minute. It was the wrong drama for that. (There were a couple stand out scenes that were filmed differently from the rest of the scenes & it felt like there were 2 different directors or as if this was someones directorial debut & they wanted to throw in all the cinematic tricks they knew to build their portfolio or something. Those moments were cool but they didn't match the rest of the show, it was very disjointed.)

Third, I understand the message they were delivering. Going undercover & forcing someone to live in that type of situation will change them. Junmo was mentally changed forever, but I don't like that it affected his marriage. Suddenly he doesn't love his wife anymore? After everything they put me thru they couldn't give me that?? I'm fine w/out romance but don't include it then screw me over in the end. That just really made me dislike the whole drama. Him leaving his wedding ring at Gi Cheol's grave just pissed me off lol. It was refreshing for a kdrama to have the female 'love interest' go that far & immerse herself into that role just to protect her husband. I could feel how much she loved him, I mean she voluntarily emotionally manipulated her 1st love to protect Junmo. Their relationship ended abruptly before it could even begin in a sad way but instead of her feeling sorry for him or conflicted over how his life turned out she really lured him in to betray him for her husband. For them to turn around & make Junmo leave her behind like that...

Anyway, there was way less bromance than ppl were making it seem🙄

With a title like that I expected to be on the edge of my seat every moment, every ep, to be shocked by plot twists or unexpected revelations or just completely disturbed by violence. That never happened. It was just mildly interesting. I understood why Junmo would want to let him go at the end since they didn't really need him as the other 3 ended up making the drug deal, & he wasn't a heinous person. The standoff in the living room was a bit thrilling but it ended the way it ended... Oh & don't get me started on that damn cop! Why couldn't they have him demoted & stationed at a remote police station until the investigation was over? Sorry to say I felt nothing when he died.
