BTW its still Dec 31 here where I am, so I'll say it counts.

I've done a lot more than I expected this year, as I look back. And I'm kind of proud of myself.

I started writing for another fandom - RWRB. Its been fun adding these characters to the mix.

I managed finishing 1 multi-chapter fic and a 11 shorter fics.

I'm still plugging away on 3 longer multi-chapter WIP, adding and posting chapters as I go.

I have compiled an additional WIP list of (*stops to count*) 16 other fics that are not posted yet, but are in various stages of readiness. I flitter around adding bits to each when inpiration hits.

I think that's about it for me for 2024 - still writing, slow and steady. 😊

I'm always so happy to see any of kudos and comments if you have left any . . . and I'm still really apologetic that I haven't gotten to responding to many. There's only so much time in the day. I will try to get to them!

Summary:

Kurt Hummel thought by donating his services as a florist to Memorial Sloan Kettering, that he would simply be giving back to the medical community. A good deed for the month of December. Little did he know that a few chance run-ins with an adorable doctor and a sweet little girl in the hospital lobby would change all that. Written for the Klaine Secret Santa 2023 Gift Exchange.

Kurt had all of his mother's crystals, divination tools, and journals tucked away in her old trunk up in the attic of their home. He could read tea leaves and scry with the best of them. He had long ago lost focus on the chapter Professor Holiday had assigned them for the evening, so at this point, any other distraction would be welcome. Even if it was prefect duties.

i’ve had the music in my car on shuffle for like a year and when i drove home from work on Thursday Habit came up, and i can’t explain the way my body exhaaaaaaaaaled on the very first note. the way all the tension in my body slipped away! i switched to play through Walls for the rest of the drive home, such a comfort!! I still can’t believe like, we have Louis’ album! after so long, now at my service whenever i want, that is so amazing. this week has just been a thumbs down i think. i’m running on minimum and am hoarding all my energy for myself, not giving it to anyone else. and a bunch of people i care about had real sad things happen in their lives and i think we should be allowed to hand the week back to the person in charge and receive a refund.

Thursday was the first day our campus was opened back up to students. Classes are still online but we’re opening the campus/library one day a week, and will steadily increase to normal opening hours. It was so STRANGE to like, interact with human beings in my library lol??? We rearranged some furniture to be more socially distanced and i love the new layout. I need to bring some of the plants back to the library, but i’m waiting on some mats i ordered so the tables are protected from water damage. It’ll look even better when they’re back. i feel soo out of practice with face to face service, like the immediacy of it, i’m going to need to work on exercising those muscles, but gosh i must admit it was nice to see the space being used. i hate coming back without our old receptionist tho. we were the only 2 staff members on the ground floor so we were very close, it sucks being there without her! another staff member will be coming down to sit at reception on the days we’re open, which i’m looking forward to bc she’s great, but it just won’t be the same. i feel like i lost a teammate, we used to say we were the best team in the building bc we didn’t get caught up in the bureaucratic drama up on level 2, so we could get on with our jobs lol. Ugh anyway i need to msg her and see how she’s doing. I wanted to invite her over for dinner when we found a new place, but who knows when that will be!!!

We saw FIVE houses today. We really liked one of them but we’re sure to be priced out. The house we’ve been after for a few weeks, that we were in the final running for, got pulled from the market this week bc the owners changed their minds about selling, which makes me want to get into bed and never emerge lol. We were so close to escaping this hellish market!!! I am so desperate to stop participating in conversations that discuss sums like 1 million dollars on the regular. Please never speak to me about that amount of money again, i don’t want to have to think about that much money, or the idea that anyone else is also dealing with that much money. However, the good news is that a family friend has found us a very serious buyer for nonna’s house, who is also willing to let us rent from them for a few months so we can keep searching for a new house. It’s going to make our lives so so much easier, it’s not a done deal but they’re pretty deadset so it’s just a matter of time. It’s really exactly what we need, its such a saving grace, so i’m trying to focus on that while we go back to square one in the hunt for a new home. 

that zouisfest got me so excited, i have a zouis idea i really wanna write so i think i’ll sign up. my only worry is that i really wanted to finish nouis android au, which is slowly slowly slowly crawling along, and i don’t wanna redirect my focus. i’ve decided i’ll aim to have the first draft finished by the time zouisfest signs up open, so i’m not pressuring myself to have it done but i’ll have something very workable to come back to. it might even be really good to come back to a complete draft with totally fresh eyes! i think zouis signs ups open in may and then post in dec, and i feel like that kind of deadline will be helpful for me. its possible this will all implode with everything going on in real life lol, but i think i want to take the chance

first: WAHHHHHHHHH 😭😭😭 I got so emotional!!! so emotional!!!! so much that I can’t even do this first second pattern bc I have SO MANY thoughts!!!!!!! I’m writing this in my notes instead of straight into the askbox so u know it’s serious business™

ok so debut night!!! I was like ahah yeah it’s a tragedy whatever it’ll be fun to start out with and then the voice acting was SO good that it knocked me out of the park and I almost cried haha. it’s crazy how good the voice acting in a3 is like I love how the dialogue and voice acting works well together bc like it’s limited but so effective!! u can so very clearly see and understand the style they’re going for. especially like tsumugi’s death scene... the Talent jumped out it really did... uh and ok so. I think I may be a littleeee confused abt the play bc I had always interpreted tasukus last lines as raphael to be like abt his being secretly in love with michael. but now that I’m actually reading the line that’s like oh don’t fall for a human it only ends in misery I know that all too well or whatever... ig the implication is that raphael was in love with another human / the same lady michael was in love with in the play. side note I had to go back and edit the proper names in instead of tasuku and tsumugi lol... but speaking of!! speaking of the voice acting and the play itself I 1) love how blatantly obvious it is when tsumugi goes for that grander, tasuku like style of delivery!! like u could just so easily feel the difference it was wild... and 2) tsuzuru is once again spot on with his writing, lol... I felt that like raphaels inability to save or help michael really parallels how tasuku feels abt tsumugi so well, and it’s wonderful that they r able to resolve things and tasuku can properly compliment him on his acting where the angels fail to do so. it’s very good. and I think the play rly highlights (for me at least) that like. to tasuku, it was tsumugi who was sort of an unreachable existence. like were he to idolize and respect someone’s acting, it would be tsumugi. and I think that like caring carries over into their roles really well, because I think in michael’s love for a human tasuku sees like... tsumugi’s style of acting. the heart that he’d lost while within the god troupe. mb I’m losing my mind a little but ah. the play rly works with their relationship so well!! im very excited to see the other winter ppl get main roles tho—same for all the troupes!!! now this ask is too long so I’ll have to do another part lol

going to start off this second part of the ask abt hisoka bc oh my GOD. hisoka. like I was just thinking “hm where r the winter troupe cgs anyways” and then BAM. hisoka CRYING???? especially since he doesn’t seem that emotional it was a really hard hit!!! and who tf is august.... ok well actually theory time!! skipping ahead to the end theres that note that like mentions December and April and. not to expose my friend but very many years ago (a couple years before a3 was launched, at the very least) she wrote this story where there were like 12 orphan assassins and they were all named after months. I remember the main dude was named dec lol. coupled with my “hisoka is capable of murder” bit? listen.... I’m not saying anything but I’m also not not saying anything if u feel me. also I feel like assassin / thief with mysterious background is a common trope!! that was silver from the pokémon adventures manga too... why is this my reference point lmao. anyways I’m unclear if assassins would make it into a3 but like.... if the yakuza and supernatural stuff makes it in...

okay moving away from conspiracy theories and into emotions!!! the quotes from like EVERY mankai actor before the final production made me SO emo... and yay!!! they won!!!! (though admittedly I almost had a heart attack when no one clapped) but they won!!!! that ending cg!!!! and I adore how sakyo immediately goes after god troupe man (I know his name is reni I just don’t feel like calling him that) for the money lol it’s just so sakyo-like. also I love the lil mixed troupe interactions!! I found the game night ch so fun.... ahh, now I wanna reread that ch since it was so good lol

all in all I was super satisfied ahh!! I am SO excited to start up spring troupe again (HELLO character development!!! and chikage) and I’m even MORE excited to get thru all the act 1 events!!!! as a final note, is there any way to reread or replay the flair conversations? I didn’t want any spoilers for the plays while I was doing the practices for them so I kinda sped thru the first time ahah...

HELLO FRIEND IM SO HAPPY TO GET SUCH A LENGHTY ASK ABOUT WINTER IM LKDJFLKDJFLKFD  Winter makes me feel shrimps emotions (i know the whole “shrimps can see more colors than humans can’t comprehend” thing has been disproved but i’m not letting go of that expression, i REALLY feel emotions humans can’t comprehend anymore and i’m going to make it everyone else’s problem)

1) First about the voice acting, rIGHT this is just so fascinating to me!!! I remember after act 2 i came back to reread the main act 1 chapter and i was so thrown out by how GOOD the voice acting was, especially for the first few troupes having to convince you they’re not comfortable or good at acting yet. Winter whole thing is that they’re more subtle and mature and you really feel that with their voice acting, Tsumugi’s voice especially knock it off the park anytime he’s on screen. 

2) Second: what does it say about me that i’ve never, ever considered your reading a possibility because i was so set on “oh Raphael you’re in love with Michael sooooo bad you see it as a tragedy already because you can see him throw his life away” i didn’t even consider “maybe Raphael went through that too”. Though i guess if we’re going with that reading i can totally see “The Woman” they let themselves consumed by easily be a representation of acting or even more the God Troupe, with Raphael/Tasuku knowing to step away before it consumes him completely while Michael/Tsumugi, by his love and passion, pushed himself until he broke, which fits and it hurtsssss god Winter plays hits so hard.

3) Third: oh god yeah when Tsumugi goes for Tasuku’s acting it’s just. It makes me SO uncomfortable, i’ve experienced this scene like three times by now and the third time i was just “can i skip it i can’t go through this again i can’t Tsumugi i love you i can’t do this”. It doesn’t match the play at all and it just throws everyone off balance, and Tsumu you could have told theM YOU WANTED TO DO THAT.... god

4) Fourth: I LOVE YOUR READING SO MUCH I LOVE IT I LOVE IT YES YOU’RE RIGHT!!! Just as we follow Tsumugi let his passion consumes him until he breaks, Tasuku’s character arc really jumps out in Raphael, like, everything you say!!!  The way Tasuku/Raphael knew how the feelings Tsumugi/Michael felt would hurt him on the long run but he didn’t know what to do about it until it was too late, the regrets and the way Raphael voices his frustrations.... Tasuku struggles to be honest without acting (Tasuku pls i love you) but having such a role really help him expressing all he feels about Tsumugi and i’m HHHH this is so good so so good!!! but yeah i also love that Tasuku finally manages to actually compliment Tsumugi naturally, that he understands he can’t let him destroys himself again and it’s just gnhhhhh Tasuku is so kind and considerate and i care about him so much....!!!

5) Fifth: “i’m losing my mind a little” winter mood, winter mood winter mood- (though every troupe’s mood tbh but Winter is gnhhhhh kdhd hdhjf??? you feel me) (i am BIASED i can’t help it TwT) but yeaH i’m looking forward to see how you react to the others plays because the roller coaster juST BEGUN!!!

Onto part 2... Winter Troupe Chapter Feels... 2!

6) Sixth: DLFJDFKLDF HISOKAAAAAAAAAA I LOVE HIM SO MUCHHHHH. Hisoka crying fucked me up so bad!! so so bad!! Like on my first read i didn’t know what to think of him as he starts out very apathic to his troupe and then the more it goes on the more you can feel he starts to open up and i’m soft for this sort of slow burn, but then this whole scene happened and it HIT ME IN THE FACE, he was crying, i was crying, we were all crying, the Unopening Door opened a flood of emotions i can’t cope with. He sounds SO VULNERABLE during that scene and i know all of the Winter Troupe united on “taking care of him” but that’s really the moment i went “i care you and i will keep taking care of you” and look at me now. Thanks funky little scene for ruining my life. I’m glad you liked it i’m aldhjflkjdfkd Hisokaaaaa.....

7) Seventh: I am not commenting on the theory but 👀 that’s so highly specific your friend has a galaxy brain i love it. and i love the idea of “well we have yakuza and supernatural entity what’s an assassin adding himself to it” dLKFJDLKF i know everyone in Mankai calls Izumi out everytime someone joins but that’d be peak. I’m not going further about what December and August and April are all about but i love this plotline sO much, the few mentions of August when Hisoka regained his memories for a minute still haunts me, the guilt he seems to feel and this pain i’m just... godddd such a good set up. I love this plotline.

8) Eigth: EMOTIONS!!  Oh GOD YEAH THE ENDING WITH ALL THE OTHER ACTORS... I cried so hard it’s just. It really shows you it’s not just the culmination of the Winter chapter but of all the act 1 main plot and it really makes you feel how much of a journey you’ve been onto!! A3 is so good at showing you the growth of its characters that especially by the end of Winter you really saw how all of them grew in their respective chapters and how cozy they felt in their new home in the remaining chapters, and the fact this chap has those defining character arc’s lines really drive home “oh my god that was a journey” i love them sO MUCH.... 

9) Ninth: wE WOOOON!!! They’re all so good i just. i’m gonna cry just thinking about it dlfdjlfk i know like, the game has so many content so you know it can’t end at the end of Winter but the suspense really was there. BUT YEAH LMAO I LOVE SAKYO DOING THAT IMMEDIATLY, man sure has the eyes on the prize and we love him for that.  AND THE GAME NIGHT SCENE they are all sO CUTE and sWEET and they’re a family now and i’m hHHHHH i love a3 a normal healthy amount that isn’t just making me cry thinking about how all of them grew so close even through mixed troupes.

10) Tenth: I am SO happy you were satisfied with the plot so far!! I’m genuinely so happy that you decided to take that journey with us and that you shared all of this with me, and i’m so so happy you liked it!! There is still so much content and all of it is so worth it! 

11) Eleventh: Yes!! The flair conversations are all readable on the Mini-Chat tab! So they’re easily accessible and they’re sorted in a way that’s easy to read so you can feel comfortable skipping the flairs if you want until you have seen the stories the flairs are all about. They’re all kinda set during the rehearsals (except for some crosstroupe conversation that wouldn’t make sense if they were like how the Summer Troupe talks with the Spring Troupe in their Flairs DKLFJDF but it’s okay what is a timeline anyway) so some of them are set pre-development and it’s wild to get back to them. I love rereading Flairs i get emotional everytime.

The drive has backstages and event stories and it may be a lot and overwhelming ahah. Focus on the event stories for the plot and go back to the backstages whenever you feel like it, no need to read them at the same time, unless you want to in which case everything is set up for you :3c and there’s a file with cards that aren’t associated to events too so... lots of goodies hanging around. Hi! It’s me again. I’ve got this BellamyxReader idea where the reader has become more and more reckless, and when she kills someone she doesn’t even flinch. Everyone’s worried, especially Bellamy. When they get to restrain chipped-Raven and they’re taking shifts to check on her. While it’s the reader’s turn, Raven says something that makes her snap. I have 2 ideas for the end: either the readers goes out and points a gun to her head or she points it to Raven. Either way, Bellamy stops her. (I was thinking that maybe no one knows about it and that the reader’s been keeping it under control with the meds Kane managed to give her before she was sent to earth with the 100 (maybe she could be Kane’s daughter).Then, when Jaha started chipping everyone, ALIE ordered someone to steal her meds and she didn’t really want to tell anyone about the missing meds. She started to go through the maniac phase of it, and people around her (Bellamy, Clarke) started to notice that something was off Then, coming back to my original request lol, Raven told her that they stole their meds to mess with her and you can connect it with the rest of my other request)

my day was actually going okay. i’m disappointed sa ako self sa trading, but i was okay na with that.

SPN Season 15 Spoiler Sheet, update 11/11

Hello! I finally had some time to clean this up a bit. I am going to make a separate post about old episodes if anyone wants to reference the past. I also pulled out some general spoilers that have already happened to keep this shorter. It’s getting to be a monster with length. 

As for updates, we got some nuggets from Jensen and Misha while promoting their latest projects. No pictures yet for ep 5 because of the holiday. Also no description for 7 yet because there will be a week off for Thanksgiving. Hopefully JaxCon will have some juicy updates like DC did. Under the cut!

There is hope to wrap up some Wayward Daughters storylines in the back half of the season

They are adding a whole extra day to filming to do the final scene. They will film the final scene last.  (Implies logistics- lots of returning people?)

Brad Bucker used the word “romance” when asked about Sam and Dean’s arcs. Did not specify who. 

In an interview, Kripe indicated that the series ending would have “peace” for Sam and Dean

Not much new at the TCA’s, but it was said it is “unlikely” Jeffery Dean Morgan will be back since his last appearance was such a good end note. There were some jokes about a Castiel spin off. Hell, I’d watch. 

There will be a special tribute ep, not clear if its one of the 20 or additional

Misha will be in 15 out of 20 episodes this season

According to Dabb, Sam and Dean are going to start to lose people who, in past seasons, we would’ve never lost — and lose them in a very real way. Our guys are going to realize there’s a certain finality, and some of the things they’ve relied on to get through the day — people, talents, things like that — they are no longer going to be able to roll out. And that’s going to throw them for a loop

Also according to Dabb, Jack is still in the empty and “he’s not coming back in the near future”

Cas’ deal with the Empty may come up later in the season. 

Dabb intimated that Chuck was inherently responsible for killing Mary when asked how the boys would respond to Jack. 

Adam Rose, who played Aaron Bass from the golem episode vauge-tweeted about working a show with two badass leads. Could be Supernatural, but I think the timing is off- he indicated he was filming late Friday night. 

Dabb compared Chuck and John Winchester, claiming that Dean would have to break free of “conditioning.” Also, for Jack “there have been cosmic forces fighting for his attention since he was in the womb — and that will continue. As much as this season is about Sam and Dean finding agency, it’s also about Castiel finding agency, and it’s about Jack finding agency. As always, death is never the end. It’s just part of the journey and that’s certainly true with Jack.” 

Per Variety: At the outset of the season, the “Supernatural” foursome of Dean, Sam, Castiel and Jack are split up, but Dabb notes they won’t be for long because “ultimately this is a found family, and they have deep emotional bonds” that make up the most important part of the show.

Sam’s wound from the equalizer gives his powers/an advantage of some kind (per TVGuide)

The shaving promo, punting things promo shows glimpses or Lucifer!Sam and MOC!Dean, as well as bearded Dean in tactical equipment. Recent interviews by Dabb seem to indicate that these are glimpses into other universes, a la Apocalypse World, and other endings from Sam and Dean. 

According to the MarySue and other interviews, Sam’s bullet hole will give him a connection and insight to god- like a tin can telephone string.

In the cage, Micheal and Adam have formed a working relationship (MarySue)

Dean and Amara’s connection will be explored

There will be a bunker themed episode (MarySue)

According to Misha (Cinablend) Dean and Cas will have discord up to ep 8- which is the mid-season finale. 

At a convention, Jake Abel was asked to share two lies about Adam’s return and a truth. The said 1. Adam is not upset about hell 2. Adam kills someone 3. Adam bring someone back. I am assuming its the bring someone back (Micheal?)

In one of his cookbook interviews, Misha used the word “we” several times when talking about the final scene of Supernatural. He said that would be the last scene they shoot. It seemed to imply that he was in the scene, but that could be open to interpretation. 

The finale will air on Monday May 18th. The show will move to Mondays when it comes back on March 16th. It’s gotta come back either than that and go on a mini break or something, because that is not enough Mondays.

Osric Chau popped over to set, but he is filming on Legends of Tomorrow in the same studio. Sebastin Roche also indicated he would come by, he is filming on Batgirl. Unfortunately, neither Kevin or Balthazar will appear in this one.

1) Omg the confession chapter! Loved this chapter to bits! Also happy 2020!

Yes! The confession has finally happened! Hell, it’s about time. Happy 2020, the year of the rat 庚子年!

2) Lol sun being A scared shit and A sweet confession. Looking forward to the next chapter

Sun being terrified... heh. It’s what Black would be in that situation. Sun? ... Who knows. The next chapter might happen soon, depends on how this chapter went!

3) Hehe, it really did work out for the best for Blue. Makes perfect sense to give Platinum the LuckyShipping confession MVP award now. Her little chat with Red was probably the best scene in this chapter for me.

Nice to see a fluffy chapter before the action kicks in again. Poor Yellow, though - she's going to be suffering for a bit...though it would be nice to see if/how Yellow gets over it. And I wonder what the "calling" thing is about. I suspect her target is a Mimikyu, but is this more Moon's instinct saying that a potential new team member is nearby or maybe there's some psychic stuff going on here?

And in the Thrifty Megamart, there are wild Shuppets. Fun fact: I do research to see what Pokemon are in what area so the Dex Holders will run into a Pokemon that makes sense in that area. I like the interactions between White and Y too, which is why I put in a lot of them. And they’re not exactly a senior/junior type, but rather, good friend type. Hence Y’s line of “oh eat my ass” in the last chapter.

12) Hey again, hope your New Years went well! Glad to see an update to this story. Regarding the latest chapter, I'm pretty mixed - but not in a bad way.

The first half was pretty enjoyable to read. Honestly, Red does seem like he's become the person to think things over a bit before diving in from what I saw in FRLG and him asking Platinum what was up with Blue was enjoyable. Red also deciding to take the leap and press the issue to not prolong Blue's suffering was pretty fun to read too. I half expected Blue to go on a rant about why she likes Red to him, she seems like the kind of person to justify everything (since you've shown her thoughts and rationale about why she "musn't" let Red she likes him in earlier chapters) but I guess it wasn't needed or maybe she'll do it when she's a bit calmer. I'd like to see Red react to him unknowingly saving her back in Chapter 1. Also, I've said it before - I used to like Red and Yellow, but this kinda does cement why I like Red and Blue - I kinda got a kick out of Yellow spying on the two of them, felt somewhat ironic.

I might be the only one but I kinda just gloss over the Sun and Moon parts of the story. I still read them, but I just feel more invested in the older Dex Holders' adventures since they're more emotional and I'm way more attached to those guys.

Regardless of my personal bias, great chapter. Looking forward to more as always.

Red is reckless when it comes to like... battling and combat. But outside of that, he’s not stupidly reckless. And hopefully, given how old he is in Legacy, he would’ve mellowed even more. And so he is now considerate. Huzzah! Blue will go on a ramble and talk about her fears later on once things have settled. Right now, she would be quite exhausted, actually. And then she and Red can have that discussion that was in Destiny, but in Legacy with updated interactions and no doomsday on the horizon. Getting a kick out of Yellow getting heartbroken, huh? Hahaha. ... More to come later.

Eh, it’s not that surprising. After all, statistically, the newest Dex Holders are generally ignored by the readers. Black and White in SA, X and Y in early Destiny, and now Sun and Moon in early (still) Legacy. Now, Sun and Moon aren’t that new anymore, so they’re not being as ignored, but they’re still the newest (since we don’t know sh*t about Sword and Shield yet), so... yeah.

Both manage to work unique occupations during the day and still spend a wholesome time together when they're back home. Loving their dynamic!

Oddly, the Covert Ops series, whose idea I scrapped, has come back in a very weird fashion. Instead of Blue doing the fieldwork (or Rakutsu), she’s just providing the tech to Red. Interesting.

Sweet Pea x Reader (Holiday Fic)

Amazingly, an angsty Holiday fic is as happy as I get. If you guys like it, I have an idea for an ending as a part 2. Thanks as always for reading.

[Monday Dec 3rd]

In the town of Riverdale, after Thanksgiving feasts had given flee - the holiday season was upon everyone. Jack Frost would bring winter cold to the town, a crisp chill in the air - icicles appearing on the corners of houses on Elm Street - snowballs being flown by the youngest of children.

With the glee of the Holiday season however - gave those who relished in despising the time of year. The worst of all being Sweet Pea himself.

Maybe it was that the last good christmas he had was with his grandma at 6 before she passed - maybe it was that he could remember Christmas Eve bringing his drunken father around to once again beat up his mother and demand money - or maybe it was, that since he had been on his own since 14, that he couldn’t really afford what the Northsiders could to give to the one’s he deemed his family. 

Sweet Pea would feel the chill in the air and would grunt knowing that he would have to layer the few clothes he had in order to stay warm all winter. He would have to walk to school more since the roads were never clear enough of black ice or snow for his motorcycle to ride safely enough. He would have to hope that Cheryl would welcome him more frequently in her guest room as a tent wasn’t warm enough for the frosty air.

He entered into school that morning - seeing the Northside version of the holidays in full swing. Signs welcoming members to the Jewish Life club, green garland wrapping around every doorway - teacher’s adding their own touches to their doors...and to the lucky person - even more decoration adorned to the lockers of the athletic teams.

Sweet Pea’s natural grunt to all things holiday wasn’t soothing enough to guide him through the halls. Instead he passed the decorated locker of Reggie Mantle and began to flick and snap off glitter and tinsel until the floor below was covered nicely with the shimmery remnants.

“Hey!”.

To much of Sweet Pea’s surprise - he heard a female voice versus the one of Reggie Mantle behind him.

“What do you think you’re doing?”, a girl tapping her foot with crossed arms waited for Sweet Pea to turn to her - Sweet Pea took his time relishing in the snark of his movements.

“Enjoying Christmas! Can’t you tell?”, Sweet Pea gave a chuckle as the extra turn of his shoe made the tinsel on the floor rip. Glee bringing a smile to his cheeks as his natural snarky attitude came forward in jest.

He looked upon the young woman about a foot below him - seeing a green sweater in a knitted holly pattern with red and gray accents. 

“That’s not your locker”. She seemed a bit fumed, her words having bite to them.

Sweet Pea’s face quirked an eyebrow, “How would you know?”.

A spiteful smile was now on Y/N’s face as she turned her head, leading to the locker decorated down the hall.

“Oh come on....”.

“You’re on the basketball team right?”, Y/N gave a giggle to Sweet Pea’s annoyance.

“Now, wishing I wasn’t...”, Sweet Pea turned his neck as it cracked in annoyance. “Why are you doing this anyway?”.

“It’s for FBLA”.

Sweet Pea gave a shrug to her acronym.

“Future Business Leaders of America. It’s just to get spirit going on campus”. 

“Ah yes, because Northsiders REALLY have a hard time finding Holiday cheer around this time...”. Sweet Pea started to move his feet towards his locker, looking forward to taking his own decorations down. He barely gave glance to Y/N that was following him - determined to finish their ‘conversation’.

“Cheer isn’t a bad thing”. Y/N’s steps were in tow with Sweet Pea.

Sweet Pea laughed hard, “in my world it is”.

“Then you just haven’t experienced it then”, Y/N gave a quirky shrug that when Sweet Pea looked, gave off an enduring element to its nature. Y/N gave Sweet Pea a small smile, “if you take those down - know that I’ll just put them up again Mr. Grinch”. She swerved her foot and left the hallway as the first bell rang.

Sweet Pea’s eyes lingered on Y/N as she walked away - his view landing on his tinsel decorated locker. “Maybe there are worse things...”.

“But I think the point is, you don’t know what to get her”, Fangs had his elbows over his knees as he listened intently to Toni trying to think of a gift for Cheryl for Christmas.

Sweet Pea barely heard any words as his mind was elsewhere.

“Am I a Grinch?”.

Both Toni and Fangs looked up from their chairs in the common room as Sweet Peas eyes were glued to the coffee table between them. 

“I’m sorry, is this just coming to light for you?”, Toni quickly chimed in as Sweet Pea was a little taken aback from Toni’s comment.

“Well I know I’m no ball of sunshine like Fangs here but...”.

“BUT, you hate decorations, you groan at any Christmas song, and I’m pretty sure you detest the day all together there buddy”, Fangs retorted as he was a little burned by the sunshine remark.

“You know, I have an actual problem here, versus a fairly plain realization”.

“Just stick a bow on yourself, you’ll be fine”, Sweet Pea gave a chuckle as he leaned back into his chair.

Toni rolled her tongue in her mouth out of displeasure - “Clever”. She quickly grabbed her bag and left the two youths to themselves in the common room. 

“Dude, not cool”. Fangs gave a slight smack to Sweet Pea’s knee while coming over to sit next to him.

“I’ll apologize to her later....”.

“So...why all of this about the holidays? I mean you aren’t one to relish on....”.

“This girl decorated my locker...”.

“A girl eh?”, Fangs sat back as he was finally connecting the dots.

“Oh shut it”, Sweet Pea’s eyes moved to a wall as he played with a strand of hair. 

“Did she get to ya or something?”.

Sweet gave a large breath and a sigh, “The decorations are still on my locker...”.

“Oooh you like her, this is getting interesting”. Fangs had a joyful smile.

“So.....what do I do?”.

“WELL, this is a Northsider we’re talking about - and apparently a cheerful one at that. Ask her out, it isn’t that hard”.

“She doesn’t seem to like me...”.

“Okay, so change that”. 

“Last I checked, I wasn’t the charismatic type...”.

“Oooh big word! You REALLY like her”.

“Would you just....”, Sweet Pea gave a slap to Fangs chest in defense. 

“Do you want help or not”, Fangs laughed his words out.

“Well...yes...”.

“Then go apologize to Toni”. Sweet Pea rolled his eyes to the words as a large grin was on Fangs’ face.

Berlin (CNN) - By the time Lynn D. turned 2, he had already undergone seven surgeries. His childhood memories -- in the German states of Bavaria and Hesse -- were shaped by monthly visits to the doctor, where he says up to 50 researchers would observe examinations of his naked body.

When he reached puberty, Lynn was given growth blockers and high doses of hormones; as a teenager, he started self-harming, developed post-traumatic stress disorder and became suicidal.

Lynn, 34 -- who has asked CNN to identify him by his preferred name -- was born with both male and female sex organs. His doctors and parents decided shortly after he was born that his sex would be female, so his penis and testicles were surgically removed. His ovaries were also removed.

Doctors had told Lynn's parents the surgeries were preventative, citing concerns that he could develop cancer, but Lynn says there was no medical reason for him to be operated on and that the surgeries were carried out with a "dubious motivation."

"The doctors advised my parents not to tell me about my sex and simply raise me as a girl," Lynn told CNN. "And of course, it didn't work -- because I'm not a girl."

Lynn is intersex, an umbrella term used to describe a variety of conditions in which a person is born with reproductive or sexual anatomy that does not fit into binary definitions of female or male.

"I was labeled a girl; I wanted to be a girl and fit in -- but it did not work. I got along better with boys so I thought, 'I'm a boy'. But then I realized that I'm not a boy either ... boys also started to marginalize me. I did not have a good connection with my body and nobody helped me to establish a good connection with my body," Lynn said.

Lynn only learned that he was intersex during a therapy session at the age of 20. It was a revelation for Lynn, who had struggled to fit in with his peers for so many years.

While it helped him to move forward with his relationship with his own body, Lynn says it damaged his relationship with his parents.

"My body was changed so much to fit in -- whether it happened consciously or unconsciously. The whole experience broke my relationship with my parents. We still have not gotten over this yet," Lynn said.

When he first learned he was intersex, Lynn said, "it felt like as if someone said I am an alien, you are from someplace else. You are a mutant."

"It took me a while to come to terms with my diagnosis and for me to (come to) grips with it. But then I understood -- everything made sense to me. I no longer felt restless. Suddenly I understood who I was."

More than a decade later, Lynn said he has evolved into an "enormously happy" person, someone who is in a loving relationship with a woman, and who is fulfilled by a career in engineering and gigging in a punk band.

While Lynn said he accepts being called "him" for now, he wishes that there was a specific German pronoun to describe intersex people, and hopes that society will one day understand what it means to live outside of binary definitions of sex and gender -- and to accept intersex people for who they are.

A change to the German constitution could be the first step toward that recognition.

On January 1, Germany will become the first country in the European Union to offer a "third gender" option on birth certificates.

Intersex people -- and parents of intersex babies -- will be able to register as "divers," or miscellaneous, on birth certificates, instead of having to choose between male or female.

The law, passed in Germany's Bundestag earlier this month, was hailed as a "small revolution" by some intersex activists. It came after a 2017 constitutional court ruled in favor of an intersex person's right to change their birth certificate from female to "divers."

The court ruled that Vanja -- an intersex person who goes by a one-name pseudonym and uses the gender-neutral pronouns "they" and "them" -- had their "right to positive gender recognition" violated and found that the current law was unconstitutional.

Vanja, whose case was supported by advocacy group, "Dritte Option" or, the Third Option, told CNN that having to decide between being a woman or a man on official documents left them feeling "left out and overlooked."

While Vanja's official identification documents said they were female, this led to "a lot of irritations with people" because they presented -- or physically appeared in society -- as male.

Vanja initially considered changing their documents to male, but eventually decided that decision would devalue their identity, which is intersex.

"I thought to myself, if I am going at lengths to change something within the red tape system in Germany, I want to have something that suits me," they said.

Vanja plans to celebrate the new law by changing their birth certificate category to "divers" in the new year, calling it both a personal and a practical step.

"I asked myself so many times what it means to be intersex; I often was upset when I had to decide which box to tick -- male or female. I felt (like I was) being pushed into the corner, that I had to adjust non-voluntarily. I think it will give me a new feeling of peace," Vanja said, adding that they hope other countries in Europe will follow suit.

But, like many in the intersex community, Vanja believes the law is just a stepping stone.

"Societal acceptance cannot be mandated by a court ruling, but it is a step in the right direction," Vanja said.

Lynn agrees. While he also plans to register as intersex -- and to officially change his name to Lynn -- he said there are still many steps that need to be taken for intersex people to be "fully integrated into society."

Still, he is hopeful the new law will help to bring attention to the medical treatment of intersex people and open conversations for change.

'RITUALIZED , SEXUALIZED VIOLENCE '

Infants born with visible variations in their sexual characteristics, like Lynn, often undergo painful and irreversible surgery to give them the appearance of a conventional male or female gender, according to an Amnesty International report published last year.

The surgeries stem from a theory popularized in the United States in the 1960s by the psychologist John Money, who believed that an intersex person's make-up was a product of abnormal processes. Money believed that intersex people ought to become either male or female and as a result, were in need of medical treatment.

Although that theory is no longer widely accepted in the medical community, its "echoes can still be found within the medical establishment today," according to the Amnesty report, citing interviews with medical professionals across Denmark, Germany and the UK.

Those surgeries stripped Lynn of his bodily autonomy and left him with painful scars.

"When they (doctors and parents) talked about my body, I had to go out and leave the room. In hindsight, it was a practice I would now compare with a ritualized, sexualized violence. It was massively traumatizing," Lynn says of his childhood visits to the doctor.

A group of United Nations and international human rights experts called for "an urgent end to human rights violations against intersex children and adults" in 2016, calling on governments to ban harmful medical practices and protect intersex people from discrimination.

Between 0.5% and 1.7% of the global population are born with intersex traits, and are at risk of human rights violations that include surgery, discrimination and torture, according to the UN.

In July, a group of European medical experts published a set of new guidelines that urge doctors to defer medically unnecessary surgeries on intersex children until they are old enough to consent. The European consensus said: "For sensitive and/or irreversible procedures, such as genital surgery, we advise that the intervention be postponed until the individual is old enough to be actively involved in the decision whenever possible."

Grietje Baars, a senior lecturer at The City Law School in London, told CNN that while the new law demonstrates a "greater recognition of life beyond the binary," the "third gender" option doesn't go far enough to fully recognize gender diversity.

Under the new law, people wanting to change their birth certificate to read "divers" will only be able to do so with a medical certificate to prove it.

Baars -- who also goes by the gender-neutral pronouns, "they" and "them" -- says that requirement could subject intersex people, who often have a history of "traumatic medical interference with their genitalia" to additional trauma. Plus, Baars says, the medical requirement reinforces an antiquated definition of gender based solely on biology.

"You can not simply decide gender by looking at people's genitalia," they said, adding that it might be time to remove gender from official documents altogether. While Baars understands that this might sound radical, they argue that "abolishing gender registration does not mean abolishing gender as such."

"It's like abolishing registering your religion or race on your ID or documents -- it does not mean you can no longer be Catholic or black ... those things are not the same. I am just saying that it is no business of the state to register and categorize people in that manner," they said.

CHALLENGING SOCIAL NORMS

Although German law has allowed parents to leave the gender box blank on birth certificates since 2013 -- and this will still be an option under the new legislation -- some experts say parents will still be inclined to choose a more traditional approach, noting that in the two years after the blank box option came into effect, only 12 children were registered without a sex marker in the birth registry.

Anike Krämer, a Ph.D. candidate in gender studies at Germany's Ruhr-University Bochum, told CNN that she believes that parents of intersex children will have "difficulties" with the choices presented with the new law.

It all started during the promotion of their single ‘Want You Back.’ A strong ache in his stomach had caught Luke unaware. He thought that it was probably due to being always on the move, eating out without any concern of hygiene and being too tired that was the root cause of this ache. They hadn't really been eating well and Luke had even skipped meals a few times so he didn't think much about the sudden stomachache. He believed that it would go away on its own. But it just didn't.

Luke suffered through that stomach pain throughout interviews, gigs and all. He knew that he should have seen a doctor but he didn't really get the time and he was also a little worried about the diagnosis. So he thought that with time the pain will lessen.

But the pain instead got worse. He started losing appetite and was unusually warm. There'd be a dull pain in his abdomen that often made him feel nauseated.

The boy, yet, stayed quiet, looking forward to the break where they'd be returning back home.

The break was more than welcoming for the boys. They all flew home to Sydney.

“I’ve been looking forward to this break man” Calum sighed.

“Me too! I’m gonna shut down everything and tune out the rest of the world for some much needed family time” Ashton said.

“Phone’s gonna be off! Nobody calls me alright? Unless you’re dying” Michael joked.

Luke raised an eyebrow at the boy, forcing a laugh.

They all went to their respective homes except for Luke who spent only a few days at home before moving to his own apartment, wanting to spend some time but that very decision of his was going to play against him.

Luke’s mother had tried to convince Luke to stay with them but the boy insisted to stay alone for a while. He lied to his mother that his bandmates would be visiting. But that wasn’t the case. And unfortunately for him that’s when his stomach ache started getting bad.

For the past two days, Luke had gotten a bad fever and his nausea turned into proper vomiting and frequent trips to the bathroom. He had chalked it up to a stomach flu but when he noticed blood in his vomit, he knew that things were bad.

His first thought had been his bandmates and despite not wanting to disturb them, he knew it was an emergency and he need them. But none of them picked his calls. And it was then that he remembered Michael’s words, ‘Don’t call me unless you’re dying!’ He was pretty sure that he was dying but his bandmates couldn’t even care to pick up his call.

His last thought was of Niall who he remembered was going to visit him soon. He called the boy and was glad that he picked up. Niall, sensing that Luke was in immense pain, called an ambulance for him, promising to meet him up at the hospital.

And Luke just couldn’t be more grateful to Niall.

True to his promise, Niall met up with Luke at the hospital. He stayed by the boy’s side as he was diagnosed with appendicitis and was being prepared for surgery.

“You gonna stay? I don’t like being alone” Luke asked, not wanting to admit that he was scared.

“Of course buddy! But where are your bandmates?” Luke asked.

“They’re with their families. It’s okay. Don’t disturb them. They didn’t pick up my calls. Too busy… With their own family… Won’t care” Luke trailed off.

“I’ll inform your mum” Niall said, instead.

And while Liz rushed to be by her boy’s side, Niall still pondered over whether to call Luke’s bandmates.

“Where are the boys?” Liz asked, “I thought they were with him.”

Niall shrugged as Liz sighed.

He decided to give the boys a call nevertheless. And hours later, the boys were rushing to the hospital.

Luke woke up to angry whispers after his surgery.

“He called you guys but you didn’t pick up. He thought that you all don’t care about him since you’re with your families” Niall whisper-yelled.

“That’s not true. We didn’t know that he was so sick” Ashton explained.

“We didn’t pick up because we were all trying to relax and cut off from any work or anything. We would have picked up if we knew that he was sick” Calum said.

“He never told us that he has appendicitis” Michael pointed out.

“Well he came to know about it when it was ready to burst” Niall snorted.

“He should have told us” Michael huffed.

“You said not to call unless we were dying” Luke mumbled.

“Oh buddy!” Michael sighed, “It was just a joke.”

“Trust me Lukey if we knew that you were sick we would not have ignored your call” Ashton assured him.

“Yet we’re very sorry Lukey” Calum apologized.

Luke sighed, closing his eyes, he wasn’t in a mood to argue or forgive right now.

Luke couldn’t stay mad at the boys for long though. After all they didn’t know that he was sick. Also it was partly Luke’s fault to have ignored his body’s warning signs. But in the end, he was just glad to have gotten the appendix removed and to be free of pain. He moved back in with an angry mother who wasn’t going to let her out of her sights any time soon. He had guilty bandmates who took turns dropping by, assuring Luke that he was family and that they cared about him. Plus, he had a good friend in Niall who was just a call away. It happened to just be one bad emergency situation that Luke was glad to have overcame.

SPN Season 15 Spoiler Sheet, update 11/4

There were a few nice tidbits from DCCon about the latest filmed episodes (9-10). These have been a busy few weeks for me, so if I have missed anything or messed it up, let me know! And that’s going to throw them for a loop (Unfortunately, my guess in Rowena)

Dabb compared Chuck and John Winchester, claiming that Dean would have to break free of “conditioning.” Also, for Jack “there have been cosmic forces fighting for his attention since he was in the womb — and that will continue. As much as this season is about Sam and Dean finding agency, it’s also about Castiel finding agency, and it’s about Jack finding agency. As always, death is never the end. It’s just part of the journey and that’s certainly true with Jack.” 

Per Variety: At the outset of the season, the “Supernatural” foursome of Dean, Sam, Castiel and Jack are split up, but Dabb notes they won’t be for long because “ultimately this is a found family, and they have deep emotional bonds” that make up the most important part of the show.

The story will be about Sam and Dean as heroes from the good and bad side (from MarySue)

At DCCon, Jensen shared that  this a bit of a wacky episode- Sam and Dean lose their abilities to fight, Dean gets cavities and Sam gets a cold.

A minor delay....

On Monday Stephen and I had our consultation with Dr. M, the same reproductive endocrinologist who did our first IVF cycle last year.

To begin, we went over all of the test results from the clinic we got a second opinion from. Our doctor was pleased to see Stephen’s test results and confirmed that his count was double what it had been the last time she tested, as well as improved motility (forward progression/movement). While it doesn’t change our outcome or treatment requirements, hopefully it’s a sign of better reproductive potential. This is the best that could have come from the surgery he had this summer, we are thrilled.

The other results also showed that my egg reserve is still great, a good sign that time is on our side should our struggles continue for years more. The other hormones tested all came back normal - so I have the green light there.

I do need to work on my slight anemia and minimally elevated thyroid levels. They aren’t high enough a primary care doctor would treat with medication, but it’s high enough that reproductive doctors would like it to be cut in half. So back on synthroid I go!

With all of this checking out there are a few things we needed to do before we move forward:

1) Infectious disease panel (both of us) - so we saddled on over to the lab and gave blood to get this done.

2) An SHG.

I had an SHG and mock embryo transfer done last year but they’re only good for one year. During a sonohysterogram a catheter/balloon is inserted through the cervix into the uterine cavity to allow the doctors to flush the uterus with a saline solution. While doing this they use a transvaginal ultrasound to get a look inside and inspect for any fibroids or polyps that could interfere with successful embryo implantation. (In case you can’t tell, it hurts like a bitch to have done).

We were my doctor’s last consultation of the day, and she knows we live a tad bit away from the clinic. So after asking for permission she fluttered around the office gathering supplies and assistants to do this procedure right away.

YAY: No waiting a few weeks to a month to get on the schedule!

NAY: No warning so no ability to prepare with copious amounts of ibuprofen prior to the procedure.

Eventually everything was ready and we went forward with the procedure. When I had this test done last year the doctor struggled with getting clear images and my extreme discomfort discouraged her from taking extra time digging into why. We got just enough information to move forward and called it a day.

This year we had the same issues and Dr. M took the opportunity to dig around and really delve deeper into the visuals she was seeing. It didn’t take her long to realize that my uterus has a blueprint of its own and does not lay like one would expect. (The photo here explains it as she did to me).

For a bit of a chuckle:

Normally you’d expect a uterus to lay in the body like the left fist. Thin at the bottom and blooming outward, just like the diagrams in health class! As the doctor began looking around inside she discovered that my uterus doesn’t quite want to play that game. Rather, it’s nearly completely twisted around. She stressed that it’s not uncommon to see a uterus laying ways different than ‘normal’ and confirmed it should have no effect on our fertility or my ability to carry a pregnancy. It simply makes imaging processes like the SHG a little more difficult. So, not only is my cervix tilted upwards abnormally, and one of my ovaries tucked up behind my uterus instead of flowing out, the uterus is sideways too.

After this discovery she was able to do some extra maneuvering of the tools to get better images, despite the odd angles they had to be taken from.

Unfortunately, these images showed a couple areas of concern. Next month I will be going in for an endoscopy procedure - this will allow a camera into the uterine cavity and get a true image of the inside of the uterus to ensure there is nothing present that would jeopardize the success of an IVF cycle.

It’s difficult to know exactly what she saw on the images - they could be fibroids, they could be endometrial polyps, it could be that some of the lining was dislodged during the poking and prodding during the positioning of the instruments. What we do know is that our doctor is confident that whatever she may, or may not, find she can treat appropriately.

(In her professional opinion she is inclined to believe that it was dislodged lining from the procedure, they aren’t typically so rough on the body. To back up this theory, I did pass three separate blood clots of various sizes the day following the procedure).

If the endoscopy comes back clear we have everything ready to begin IVF!

The clinic’s lab closes down for the year on Dec. 19 for yearly inspections, maintenance, cleaning, etc. With the endoscopy happening in December we will be looking at IVF in early 2019. 🤞🏻

Looking at the next cycle we know this

- Our clinic has implemented new protocols and practices according to the guidelines in place by organizations whose names I can never recall and they are seeing better fertilization rates and more blastocysts for couples across the board. These improvements should help us as well!

- With my egg reserve steady at a high level, and proof that my body responds well to stimulation, we will be doing our next protocol at a lower rate. Instead of starting at 250 of Gonal-F and slashing it down to 150 a few days in, we are going to start at 150 and hopefully have a more consistent and slow egg maturity process. Theoretically, this should result in higher quality eggs.

- I have to lose 10 lbs. 😂 Which is exactly what she told me last time, I swear she just loves throwing out numbers to stress me out. Regardless, when following my bariatric meal plan that will be easily managed by 2019.

- We cannot apply for the financing we’d like any more than 30 days in advance. For now we focus on paying down any debts we currently have to make the best case for approval.

Only a few things stand between us and hopefully bringing a baby Russell earthside by the end of 2019.

For now, we are focused on preparing for the endoscopy next month. Hopefully it comes back clear like the doctor hopes and we can continue moving forward. 🤞🏻

MoviePass’s Latest Scam is Ingenious but Infuriating

If you’re anything like me, you schedule your life around the movies you want to see and you see a mix of movies in arthouse and indie theaters as well as bigger franchise movies at the multiplexes.

Now I’ve been using MoviePass for well over two years. In March 2016, the Metrograph theater opened in my neighborhood, and I soon learned from a friend that the theater took MoviePass, which at the time was $45 a month for a single movie a day. Still no 3D/IMAX, but you could see movies multiple times and there were few other limitations except that you could only use it once a day. That was already a pretty good deal because if I saw 3 movies that month, it would be about the same. They then raised the price to $50 and I still found it to be a good deal because I was freelancing but still had more free time than free money.  I mainly used it at the Metrograph over the next year or so, but once in a while would go to the multiplex and see a movie which I missed or wasn’t invited to see (like every Disney movie since Dec. 2016).

When MoviePass was bought and the price was lowered to $9.99 a month, I was thrilled because I was already using it and a fan of the service and that would save me $40 a month. A few months later, MoviePass offered an annual fee for the service for $89 which was even lower than the monthly fee.  When the price was dropped last July, there were a lot of negative nellies saying that it would never work and there was no way for MoviePass to survive, and maybe they were right.

Anyway, earlier this year, they offered a service of 4 movies a month for $7.99 which if you live in New York is STILL a great deal compared to paying $15 to 18 for a movie (and that’s not including 3D upcharges). There were definitely some growing pains as MoviePass upgraded its APP and started making conditions, one of them being that you have to take a picture of the ticket to prove that you used it for the movie you checked in for, mainly to avoid scammers. It was a pain, especially at theaters like the Quad which have TERRIBLE celphone and WIFI service. And it also was buggy because when it started, it would randomly ask you for a picture before you could use MoviePass again and if you didn’t keep your ticket on you, you were fucked.

MoviePass kept instilling new rules… that you couldn’t see a movie more than twice and then they started adding surge pricing for the bigger movies. The thing is that because I bought a year’s service in advance, they couldn’t change the deal and start making long-time users pay surge charges. That alone already pissed a lot of MoviePass users to the point where they dumped it and switched to the AMC Service.

Okay, let’s fast-forward to last week Thursday when MoviePass’ service went down completely, something that has happened sporadically since last year. These issues were frustrating, but not as frustrating as the customer service which pretty much vanished and you were told to use the APP. I actually had to upgrade to a new smartphone because in Feb or March, the APP stopped working on my old Droid altogether.

Anyway, MoviePass went down and it was soon reported that they ran out of money to pay their vendors and had to borrow another $6 million to stay solvent. Once again, the negative nellies started ranting on about how they told them so and that it would never work. The stock quickly tanked and everyone assumed doom for the service, especially with AMC offering A-List to those who normally frequent the multiplexes and wanted to see the bigger movies that play at them. For $20 a month, that was still a good deal if you actually went to see 3 movies a week and saw IMAX/3D movies.

During the week after the money problems, it was very hard to get MoviePass to work at all… either you couldn’t check-in or the APP said there were no screenings available at ANY theater… except of course, MoviePass’ partners, which in NYC is exactly THREE theaters… The Roxy (repertory and 2nd run indies), the Landmark 57 which is WAY out of the way unless you live on the Upper West Side and the Chelsea Cinepolis which is closer downtown (23rd and 8th) and plays a mix of indies and major releases. You could see anything you wanted at those partners even with all the problems, which is HUGELY suspect in itself because it looked like MoviePass was trying to shut out the theaters who didn’t outright partner with them. 

But that wasn’t the SCAM that I referred to in the title… THIS is the SCAM:

Last Friday, I decided to try MoviePass again, although it had been spotty in the past week. That morning, I woke up and said, “I want to see Equalizer 2 since I missed the press screening.” I went on the MoviePass APP to see if it was working and it showed a number of afternoon screenings around 3pm or 3:30 which sounded like I could make happen.  I went on about my daily business and then around 1:30, I checked the APP again to make sure it was working before I got on the bus ($2.75 each way if you don’t have a weekly pass, which I don’t) and went up to Kips Bay to see the movie. I then saw that the earlier afternoon screenings had been deleted and unavailable on the APP and the earliest screening of Equalizer 2 was at 7pm or 7:30.  Again, this is at 1:30 in the afternoon. 

What was really annoying about them limiting my choice to the evening screenings was that it was Friday evening, Equalizer 2 had been out for about a month and it was playing in the smaller theater which had already sold a lot if not all of its tickets. I figured that the chance of the 7pm screening being sold out by the time I got there was definitely not in my favor.

See, that’s the thing with MoviePass… it has always been the case that you have to buy your ticket within 30 minutes of check-in AND you have to be within half a mile, and none of the theaters playing the movie were close enough that I could guarantee buying a ticket.

I decided to go with Good Manners at the IFC Center which was listed on MoviePass, so I went to that and go there fairly early to get a ticket which was good because that TOO was playing in a small theater that did indeed sell-out its seats.  

That got me thinking that maybe MoviePass was deliberately scanning the people who regularly used the service, maybe once a day or three or four times a week. Many of those people (and there are a lot in New York) are single people, maybe unemployed (like myself) who prefer to see movies on weekday afternoons when the theaters aren’t as crowded.

On Saturday, I woke up early to see The General at Metrograph and MoviePass seemed to be working, no problem, but on Sunday, I wanted to see Wanda, a 1970 indie film that was restored, and I saw that it was playing at 12:45 in the bigger theater and not many tickets have been sold, so there shouldn’t be a problem.

I wake up on Sunday and check the MoviePass app and the 12:45 of Wanda isn’t listed. In fact, NO movies are listed anywhere (except the partner theaters) before 5pm, so basically they want to make sure that the people who might go see a movie Sunday afternoon to get out of the heat (or just to see a movie) won’t be able to do so and they have to wait until Sunday evening/night which isn’t ideal for those who work on Mondays or those who just want to do other things Sunday night. (They did have the 9:30 showing listed but that was in the smaller theater and could definitely sell out before anyone with MP is able to get tickets.)

ADDENDUM: It’s now 5:12PM and I’m getting the “There are no more screenings at this theater” message for EVERY theater on the APP other than the partner theaters. Either service is down again, MoviePass is trying to make sure I realize that I already used MoviePass (but what if I didn’t?) or they continue to try to screw over long-time and annual MoviePass users.

For a long time, MoviePass even had a choice to “check-in for a movie not shown here” for the times that a movie wasn’t listed on the APP especially for big theaters with a lot of different movies. That option is GONE, because they want to limit you to whatever movies they feel might sell out 

So to spell it out…this is MoviePass’ scam: they’re making it harder and harder and harder… nearly impossible… for the regular MoviePass subscribers, those who have been with the service from the days it was $45-50 a month to use, those who paid for a year in advance and had the confident that MoviePass would deliver the service as promised for a whole year (which is definitely not the case). 

And you know what? When they started making people take pictures of their tickets after using MoviePass, they threatened to cut off the service of anyone who didn’t take a picture of their ticket. By doing that, they’d save themselves a lot of money on a service that they clearly didn’t think through when they lowered the price to $9.99.  I stood by that decision and thought it would be great to get people signed up, but I never thought that would stick.

Now it’s $14.99 but I don’t have to renew my service until November and we’ll have to see if I do so under the current conditions. If it was $14.99 a month and there were no limitations other than seeing one movie a day, no repeat viewings or 3D/IMAX, that would be fine and still a good deal. But MoviePass is also cutting off new releases like Mission: Impossible and Christopher Robin and even The Darkest Minds (which probably could have been helped by MoviePass). 

So to recap: MoviePass is trying to fuck everyone over that hasn’t already dumped their service because they realize they overreached by lowering the price to $9.99 when there are many people who would gladly see a movie a day if given the option.

MoviePass, you should be ashamed of yourself, especially the recent decision to limit moviegoers’ choices in how they use MoviePass. In November, when I have to decide whether to spend $14.99 a month for a lesser service, I just hope AMC still is doing A-List because I’ll do that even though It won’t be able to see movies at any of the downtown arthouse/indie/repertory theaters (and they’re going to get fucked by losing all the MoviePass users).

summary: Renjun invites you to a dumb Christmas party, and you only go for a chance to kiss your crush, Jisung Park.

You didn’t even want to be at this dumb Christmas party anyways, but ofc Renjun dragged you along anyways. Well okay he didn’t drag you along, more like guilted you into coming.

“Oh Y/N, you’re my favourite underclassman, and I do so much for you!”

“Renjun when have you ever—”

“like remember that time you got detention and I got you out of it? Or that time you would’ve FAILED that fundraising project if I hadn’t bought all the left over cupcakes or when—”

“Renjun I don’t even go to your school and besides he’s gonna be there—”

“and you’re telling me you won’t even come ??????? Jeno and I didn’t DIE for this disrespect”

As soon as you walked in, Renjun had given you a hug and greeted you warmly, and you know, you felt like it’d be fine, what’s the worst that could happen? But then, he flashed you his pure boy smile, and disappeared into the throng of student. Yes, throng. As in huge crowd. It seemed like at least half of SOPA was here.

Is Taeyong alive, and how did Renjun and Jeno fit in so many kids into their dorms ???

You already weren’t super close to the rest of dream, and really, you had only expect them to invite like 15-20 kids max, and here you were, stuck with at least 50 or 60 kids giggling and talking and kissing under the FIVE MILLION MISTLETOES SLUNG EVERYONE

Whos fucking idea was this ??

Yup, taeyong is definitely not okay rn

Take a shitty college party, replace the alcohol with hot chocolate and like fucking Gatorade, and replace the making out with giggling under mistletoes and that’s the hell that you were in rn

So here you are, sulking in the corner, not only bc you were surrounded by a bunch of infants, but also bc Haechan and Chenle were screaming with a karaoke station, and Mark was dying in a corner with at least a dozen girls holding mistletoes over him as Renjun laughed, and mostly bc Jeno had tried to get you to kiss a boy who wasn’t Jisung Park.

Yes, you liked Jisung Park.

While you had known Renjun for a really long time, and Chenle for around a year or so, you had only really met the rest of the boys a few months ago

Renjun often used Chenle’s house as a place to tutor you, as Chenle was the only one who lived outside the dorms

While you weren’t super close with Chenle, he was like an acquaintance who you didn’t mind

So one day, a few days after school had begun, and when Renjun was done most of his main promotions for We Young, y’all were at Chenle’s

Renjun said he was going to get busier and so it would be good to look at the syllabus to plan out when you would need the most help in tutoring

God bless that boy he’s so sweet

And it’s all calm and quite with no one around

Until Chenle bursts open the front door, with Jeno and Jisung marching behind him

They’re all a little shook, but recover quickly, especially Jeno

Ofc you knew who they were but you hadn’t acc met them, save Chenle

While Chenle sniggers in the background Jeno approaches you professionally “Oh Y/N, I’ve heard quite a bit about you, it’s lovely to finally meet you!”

Renjun puts him in a headlock.

Jisung, however, is extremely quiet and just makes eye contact and smiles at your from across the room smh

And I guess that’s why you kind of fell for him?

Bc he was around your age and he gave you the soft fluttery feeling that you had barely experienced before ?

Anyways, wow I rambled of course Renjun knew the minute y’all left, he was your childhood friend after all

And what Renjun knew, Jeno probably knew too.

And a small, just a tinyyyy part of you had been looking forward to this party

Because you really, really wanted to see Jisung Park.

But no, Jisung was sitting in the living room, wearing some dumb reindeer antlers,,,, giggling with a few of his classmates, some boy, some girls— most of whom were at least 7 hundred and 89 times prettier than you :/ uGh

AnD suddenly,,,,, you had an amazing idea :- )))))) Putting on your best smile, you went out to go search for Renjun.

You find him in the kitchen, refilling snacks.

“Ahhh! Y/N, I hope you’re having a good time !! See, I told you it would be fun!”

You smiled through gritted teeth :- DDDDD

“Yeah, about that! Could I borrow your laptop? I have a huge history project due, and my partner keeps asking me to Skype her bc apparently she messed up :/”

Renjun looked worried, but smiled

“Yeah, it’s in my room, feel free to use it… you remember my passcode right?”

You grinned and hugged him tight, as if the best thing in the world had just happened

“Yes I do! Thank you so much !!!” you scrambled, running out to find his room

Were you going to call a friend? No. You guys had finished the project last week. Were you going to take a nap? Yes, of course you were. Renjun rly wouldn’t mind, he’d be a little disappointed, but he wouldn’t mind, you’d had sleepovers before. It was 8pm right now, and if you set your alarm for 9:30, no one would even notice.

You hit set, and before you knew it, you were asleep.

Except you slept through your alarm. Not by a lot, just maybe thirty minutes. But it was enough for you to be shaken awake by Jaemin, a slightly amused expression on his face. You weren’t close to him, but you didn’t mind him, he was really nice.

Your eyes widened at the site of him, and you scrambled to get up. “Relax,” he giggled, sitting down beside you.

“This is about Jisung isn’t it?”

“Huh?”

“your crush”

“What no— I mean yes I like him— but no! wait what are you implying” you gush

Jaemin laughed again

“You probably wouldn’t hate this party as much as you do rn if it weren’t for Jisung”

you :///// “I guess,,,,,,,,,,,,”

“I say, just give it a shot, it almost Christmas, miracles do happen”

You throw a pillow at him

None the less, you grumbled and get up, tidying yourself in the mirror beside Renjun’s desk. You follow Jaemin towards the living room, and gasp. There were barely a dozen kids left, non including dream. You turn towards Jaemin, “what happened?!” “Most kids at SOPA are either trainees or some type of creative connoisseurs, we all need our beauty sleep Y/N!” Jaemin exclaimed before waltzing off.

You see Jisung sitting beside a few kids talking animatedly, but he himself was on his phone. You decide to take Jaemin’s advice, and go sit beside him. What’s the worst that could happen? “Hey!” you say, plopping down. Jisung looks a little shookt, but he smiles down at you, straightening up. “Hey Y/N! How long have you been here?!” “The whole time,” you say bashfully. His jaw drops a little, “What! No way, I mean you should’ve at least said hi :/ you have no idea how bored I was, everyone’s leaving!” he gestured around him, and that at the kids beside him who got up and walked towards Jeno, probably to say goodbye. You giggle, a little surprised, yet extremely content, at how bubbly and friendly he was being.

The conversation would’ve continued great, except…

“YO! Y/N” Jaemin yelled your name from across the room. You saw him smiling like an angel, and you saw, beside him, Donghyuck smirking like the devil. Donghyuck slung something at you and Jisung, which lodged itself in Jisung’s dumb antlers.

A mistletoe.

This was NOT the Christmas miracle that you were expecting. But maybe it’s the one that you deserve,,, ???

You looked around the room bewildered, looking anywhere but Jisung. You eyes settled on Renjun, expecting some help, but instead he just smiled into his hot chocolate. kermit looking ass. You narrowed your eyes as you realized it was probably his plan.

Donghyuck whooped, “GET IT JISUNG!” You looked down and shoved your face in your hands. Mark giggled, and him and Jeno yelled “Maknae on top!” “That’s so old…” Jisung mumbled, and when you snuck a glance at his face, it was bright red, even in the dim evening lights. Sensing you looking, he glanced up at your eyes, holding his eye contact for no longer than .25 seconds.

“Y/N…” he mumbled, his voice small and childlike.

“Jisung…” you replied back, a slightly shy smile on your face.

“I guess we have to Y/N,”

“I guess so,”

“May I?” He asked, finally looking up into your eyes. You nodded, your eyes fluttering close.

You felt him leaning in, and you did too, for what felt like a year. Maybe it wouldn’t have taken so long if y’all hadn’t been sitting a literal foot apart. You felt him place his lips on yours, his puckered and stiff. But it didn’t matter !! you were kissing Jisung Park !! your long time crush !! your face looks like that gif of haechan when jisung calls him ugly u kno the one. You leant in a little bit more towards him, both of you unsure of what you were doing, you trying to move your lips.

It was over before it even started, but before it was over, you felt a loud click go off. “My badddddd!” Chenle yelled, fake laughing, a camera in his hands. There was a brief silence, and then cheers. “Y/N I TOLD U CHRISTMAS MIRACLES HAPPEN! GET IT!” Jaemin yelled and you look at him, eyes wide in horror. “NA JAEMIN!” You threw another pillow at him.

Jisung ran his hand threw his hair, shy and looking like a baby chick. You leant forward and untangled the mistletoe from his antlers. He gasped, breath held.

“Jisung, I was wondering if you want to go on a date this weekend?” You asked him, looking directly into his eyes, a sudden wave of confidence over taking you. Jisung blushed, his eyes still wide, his face redder than ever.

“I would love to, Y/N”

Destiny #042:

1) Great story loved it all the way thru

2) That was a roller coaster of emotions. At least Black and White finally got a happy ending in one of your stories... Hopefully... at least you haven't doom hammered them too hard yet. Looking forward to seeing the final update!

Yes. Finally, Black and White are SPARED instead of being sacrificed for the sake of tearing out heart strings. ... I tend to go back and forth between doom and sweetness for Black & White. And in the grand scheme of things, I have THREE major stories. SA, Destiny, Legacy. In SA, there was White’s death scene that hurt so many people. ... And Black got tossed away. In Destiny, both Black and White were spared. So in Legacy... Hmm...

3) hhhhhh poor Zygarde ;-;

... Wait, Poor Zygarde?! Hehehe. I guess, yeah. I mean, it only killed three Dex Holders with its fragile-ass 100% form. And two of those were because of an ambush, pretty much, while the other is a technicality, so to speak. Yellow has so many unique bullsh*t abilities and they are the only thing that support her as a character. ... Core Enforcer removes target’s ability. Thus Core Enforcer shredded Yellow. That is all.

Wings #002:

1) What a nice teacher XD

Hehe. It’s one of those things I noticed in certain school-based anime series. The teachers generally don’t give a f*ck about what happens. Like three third-years enter a first year classroom, holding wooden sticks, call out a student to meet them on the roof, and the teacher is just like “get out of here, you’re interrupting a class.” So in Wings, three third-years called out Y, Y beat the sh*t out of them, and the teacher is like “whatever, they had it coming.” ... Also necessary for the story, since Y will beat up a lot of people and I can’t have her getting kicked out.

3) Eh, if she didn't embrace her reputation, it would probably end up a not as eventful AU. The writing was awesome as always (that fight was probably the best part of the chapter) and I'm looking forward to the next chapter!

Yep. If Y was just like a normal girl, then the story becomes “just another one of those damn high school stories”. So BAD. Y must keep her reputation for the sake of entertainment. Even if that means a lot of students get beaten up, most of which would deserve a bit less than what they’d get.

And yes. Vacation! Yellowknife, here I come! ... On the 12th!

4) WOOOO Y YOU GO GIRL

First blood has occurred. Certainly won’t be the last. Which means far more interesting events are coming!

5) Great work again! I was just wondering whether there are any other Dex holders in this and if Y will have a bond with White and Platinum like she usually does?

Oh, definitely. In fact, most of the other Dex Holders will appear at some point or another. And yes, the Junior Trio will exist in the story. ... But Y will have to meet White and Platinum first. ... And White will experience a hostile first meeting with Y. Poor White. Hehehe...

6) Wow. Y is scary when she’s angry. Her temper is probably worse than Sapphire’s...and I love it!

Good going, X. I’d want to be her friend, too, after what i just witnessed.

Oh, Y will have a violent temper in Wings. And maybe a bit of a comical sadism, that will probably occur in the next chapter. And yes, X won’t ever want to get on her bad side now, and try his best to be her good friend. ... Otherwise... “... Y, please put the shovel down.”

7) X is so cute... he’s honestly the highlight of this story for me so far. Y’s pretty fun too. It’s nice to see the Vaniville group all together.

This is probably my most anticipated story by you right now, besides maybe SOS on your tumblr (I like seeing everyone together and not dying). Will there be other Dexholders in this?

The Vaniville Squad! Hehe. It’d be a notorious squad from Kalos Mid, mostly thanks to Y.

... You like seeing everyone together and not dying, but... SoS? That series has the most deaths! Hehe. Of course, SoS is in a GAME setting, so Dex Holders will die and respawn. So... no heartbreaking or dramatic deaths. More like comical and sad deaths. Hehe...

And yes, there will be other Dex Holders. So far, the following will appear one way or another at some point: Red, Gold, Crystal, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Black, White, Faitsu, X, Y, Sun, Moon. I might put Blue in somewhere, but I haven’t decided yet. We’ll see as the chapters progress.

Heart #003:

1) Aww this was adorable to read! Poor Pearl though ahaha

Hehehe... Poor Pearl, indeed. He’s suffering the full wrath of Platinum’s obliviousness.

Heh. Of course not. I simply contemplated on how I responded to my crush way back in the days, imagined how guys would respond to their crush, and increased the teasing factor by a bunch. Which is why the scene is basically written in Pearl’s perspective, instead of Platinum.

And dang. RIP Pearl XD

Unfortunately, Diamond vs. Pearl is beginning. Ring the bell. And so it begins. “Poor Pearl” should just be a thing now. ... Especially at the end of Heart, where he will suffer far more than he did in this chapter. Huhuhuhahahaha!

4) He's not getting any sleep is he lol? Well-written as always and I have to say the way you were teasing Pearl throughout was hilarious. Looking forward to the next chapter~

Pearl is being haunted in his dreams. And while it’s not a bad thing at all, it’s also very, very, VERY bad at the same time. Poor Pearl. Even in a dream, he can’t kiss Platinum. Hehe.

Heh... Pearl, you perv. But I think that poor kid is the only one I’ve teased in this fashion, ever. ... Well, this severely, anyways.
