There's something about the essence of an object. It's plastic, wood, fabric, etc, all objectively neutral things in the simple physical sense of the object,

But the Essence. The memories, the associations, the cultural norms... It all adds up to make an Essence that changes the ways we interact with the objects.

Things that I'd maybe find useful, things that wouldn't even be that unhygienic to have, thrown out because That's Dad's, and there are some things of his that are fine for me to own (impersonal objects like dishes, keepsakes like knick-knacks, cool things like his guitar, sentimental things like his shirts), and then others that get thrown out because it's Too Weird for anyone else to keep (things like his toothpaste, his clippers, his mattress/sheets, etc)

It's all in the Associations & the perceived closeness. Some types of closeness are fine. Some types are just Too Strange. It's a perfectly functional mattress, kept in good shape & doesn't seem dirty, but just due to the knowledge of the types of things he'd do there, neither me nor my sister want it. It seems like a waste of a perfectly good mattress, but there are just some things we're unwilling to look past. Adopting so many of his shirts into my wardrobe feels weirdly like I'm trying to absorb his life, but shirts are impersonal enough (generally speaking) to make that acceptable. I can overlook the oddity of taking so many of his things when it comes to things like that. But the mattress? His clippers? These things that were used in private moments are beyond what I feel like I have the right to claim.

Yet, in the end, they're all just objects. If they're cleaned, it shouldn't matter. Yet, because of the sentimental nature of humanity, it Does matter.

Just something to think about.

seek out the signs that precipitate desires: shooting stars, falling objects by renkinjutsushi (M, 26k, ivti) is another incredible reincarnation au that has Such a good discussion scene between till and ivan. it feels very in character and it's written beautifully. absolutely love this one

looking through your lense by theboynamedcrow (M, 15k, ivti) is one of my all time favorites!! it's a college au where till finds out ivan's feelings for him, tries to help him get over him, then starts to realize his own feelings. it is so, so good and well written. a must read imo

your gaze (a singular act) by fableowilba_booksandanime (M, 5.1k, ivti) is an insanely well written exploration of ivan's feelings for till in a canon compliant/divergent universe. the pining is so so well done and i adore this fic to smithereens

a song you've never heard by jjoy03 (G, 9.6k, ivti) is a very well done modern au fic where till plays piano at a hotel lounge that ivan works at. i love till's characterization in particular in this one, i can just tell it was written with so much love for him as a character and it's so so good.

HELLO ANON! lots of people asking about my fics (unless you're all just the same anon??? hgkj) in any case, im truly grateful :')!! i'll split up chatting between them, but since you asked for it specifically: let's talk Unstoppable Force! :D

Preface, here's all my fic wips as explained before!! and all my writing can be found in my #inland drabbles tag! ask 2, ask 3!

Unstoppable Force, aka "The Unstoppable Force Kisses the Immovable Object" was my first ever skills fic! as with all my writings, it's still a wip hgkjg Unstoppable Force is centered on Volition and Electrochemistry's relationship, from enemies -> friends with benefits -> lovers :3 it started as pwp but whoops accidentally got a bit of plot in there! it is still very explicit hgskgjk

Current word count is now 22,389!! granted, some of these are snippets of other fics. This document is a general free-for-all Volistry document, but Unstoppable Force in specific does have a plot in mind.

As for how it's going, it's currently a back burner project. Life's been tossin' curveballs and writing's been waiting in the outfield. for Unstoppable Force in specific, ive never written an explicit fic before so on top of the evil "your writing isn't good enough" demons im also fighting off the puritan "you should not be writing sexy shit, you are a sinner and also CRINGE" angels. like lmao LET ME FUCKIN LIVE HDHJFJ

i really love rereading it (literally canNOT stop grinning while rereading, theyre SO FUNNY, im delighted by their dialogues hgkj) and i KNOW other people might like reading it too, but also it's hard to believe anyone besides me will like the plot and characterization and. y'know. the sex?? i feel its very obvious i am a novice at this hgkj im aroace as fuck guys, this is already such an endeavor hkjgg

NEVERTHELESS. WE PERSIST!! the outline is all there, and a lot of plot points are already filled in! i just need to add more in-between sections, and figure out which sections i actually want to include in the fic hkjg

omggg i just saw this :O!! i havent been around here so i didnt see :C but anyway!!! im not sure what advice or tips to give tbh so ill just share some things that helped me 🙇

knowing what im drawing (basically...using reference lol ) u might've seen this tip a lot but its true 😆 think of it as like... training wheels on a bike AHSAHSAHHA u use training wheels for some time until u can be good enough to ride a bike without them or something like that.... its the same with using reference. u have to know and get familiar with what an object looks like first before you're able to draw without it and with confidence. tbh i dont always do this bcos sometimes i just wanna mindlessly draw ykno 😔 and thats okay as well!!! just remember that reference is very helpful when u hit a dead end with ur artwork :D also learn from real life!! look around u! sometimes id stare at something and nod in understanding. ----------------------------------

draw what u love <33 honestly, i only got back into drawing when i went down the vtuber hole a few years ago LMAO i would draw vox akuma eveyday 🙂‍↕️ and then my love for one piece got revived so now i draw my favorite characters every chance i can get bcos its all i can think abt!!! its honestly a good motivator. ----------------------------------

accepting and learning from mistakes ive always struggled with perfectionism and that really took my enjoyment and love for creating🥹 and that also stopped me from experimenting and exploring coz id always think that it wont come out as i hoped it would. SOOOO for the past 2-3 years i think?? i make it a habit to STOP ✋ being super critical when i see or make a mistake. the perspective is wrong? noted. the anatomy looks wonky? okay!! i let them exist in my artworks bcos how would i even know where to improve in if i dont know what it is 😅 i also make sure to keep those errors in mind so i know what areas i should be working on. u can always correct them on ur next work!! and the next!! again and again!!! its never-ending! ure always improving, always learning. ---------------------------------

i also have a board of artworks and styles that i really really like and i look at them when i need inspiration hahaha sometimes u just have to scroll thru pinterest for hours and draw nothing lol

personally, i think one doesnt have to draw everyday to be good. i mean, you can if u want to! but u might burn out fast if u force urself to draw everyday. just.. pace yourself. remember to rest and be good to yourself as well :))

ok... here's my general thoughts so far

- absolutely fun 😭💚 about 3 times i had to shake Nicole and tell her "i cant believe im playing deltarune" im really happy!

- the visuals are outstanding, they really upped their game since chapter 2. there's so much detail and polish and you'd notice it if you stared hard enough

- so much awesome sprites and animations... im throughly delighted

- tenna's animations is spectacular. i can tell they did some sort of rotoscoping on him. maybe he was animated 3d and rotoscoped

- he's like if caine became a tv host... hes amazing and charming

- his opening animation is so peak... it reminds me of classic/vhs styled commericals its really good 😭 the shameless ralsei plush promotion is so hilarious but i love it

enough about the quality, the story is very interesting

- found out how the way the dark world exists is when there's no light to shine the darkness - the darkness tries to make something out of nothing, like an illusion... which is The Dark World. ralsei explains that all the friends they made in the previous chapters are everyday objects that kris and susie walks into. lancer is just a spade card. queen is just a laptop. so and so forth . based on that logic, tenna is kris' television at home. it begs the question however, what is ralsei made of?

- tenna's existence is based off kris' tv, and it also means that he knows everything about kris' past and brings it into conversation (though its so offhandedly like how dare you 😭)

here's the interesting things he brought up;

1.) dess/december's presence... noelle's missing older sister. it seems like she was a punk, but she was always welcome to their home. also meant that she basically grew up with kris and their brother

2.) speaking of brother, asriel was mentioned a few times by tenna... how they always liked to ad lib the cooking show toriel loves watching. can only mean they really had a good sibling relationship... and that asriel liked magical girls at some point HWHSHSHSHSHS

3.) clearly tenna has seen kris' entire childhood before his eyes and i wonder if he knows what are they like when the SOUL isnt controlling kris

- there's a festival coming sometime later in the light world. it reminds me of ddlc's festival plot too, where they're all anticipating this festival. wonder if it comes important later.

- kris seems to not like tv? or at least, stopped watching tv. not much to analyze here but i wanted to mention it

- susie's attitude has drastically changed since chapter one, she really cares for ralsei and wanted him to be included in everything she and kris does together

- ralsei is such a pushover and he seems to struggle taking the leader role even when susie suggested it for fun. he always prefers to follow kris (and is always tailing kris when they played the video game in the game show). he also prefers not to listen to susie's ideas but if it happens, he just caves in and let her do her thing (its so fucking funny though)

now, for characters

- elnino and lanina are so fun, they're both amazing concepts because they play on the weather conditions (la niño/hot season and la niña/wet season) and they're lovers... who gets a little drama fit HSHDHDHSHS they're still not over each other but omfg the way they yearn for the other makes me laugh so bad

- ROULXS THE FUCKING THIRD WHEEL HES CASUALLY INSERTING HIMSELF IN THEIR RELATIONSHIPSJFBDHDHDHEJEJRH HES BISEXUAL BUT THEY'RE STILL RECOVERING HELLO?????? IM CRYING

so ive been on testosterone for over a year now and dont currently plan on stopping- i feel better when im running off testosterone and looking more masc is always nice, i've also very recently had top surgery and am perceived as a man in daily life.. there was a period where i was identifying as a t4t gay man- since then i have excepted my identity as a butch lesbian whos into other butches,, all of this to say ive been exploring radfem spaces more and i find your blog really interesting, i wonder your opinions about masculine women using masculine pronouns and terms to address themselves with? (also being seen as a man is so ..strange? i am not a man i am a dyke- maybe i should get a badge or smth)

Using male terms is something butch women have been doing forever. Usually just for fun. Personally I don’t like it anymore but I don’t think there’s anything objectively wrong with it!

Feeling weird about people perceiving me as male was a huge part of my detransition. I got to the point where I was genuinely read as male by the majority of people, and because of that I felt out of place socially, like I was part of a world that I didn’t want to be part of. Women didn’t see me as one of their own anymore and that hurt. I wanted to be seen as male and thought I would be okay with it. Until I actually got there. I think that’s a very common experience.

Anyway, there’s a reason you feel vaguely “better” on testosterone. It’s the same reason female bodybuilders feel better on steroids. Scientifically, testosterone tends to have the effect of boosting women’s mood as well as giving us more energy and making us feel stronger. What the trans community tells you is that you feel better because you’re on the “right” hormones now. It’s bullshit.

If you really feel that you need to continue using it, consider at least dropping down to a very low dosage so you have a lower risk of the health issues that come with a high dose. Check out the Medical Research link in my pinned post.

That season 4 trailer/bfb crossover got me thinking about the taco and test tube dynamic. Of course that short is as non canon as it gets, but hear me out; it would be funny.

They seem to be on okay terms, but whether or not TT knows about taco stealing from her and also killing her that one time is debatable. Maybe taco Has apologized to her at this point, and TT was like from what ive heard about you Im completely unsurprised.. However, the scenario in my head goes like this;

TT: oh hey taco!... microphone 😒

Taco: oh, good evening

Mic: ????? .?????????????????

On one hand, Mic is sooo super happy that Taco is making new friends and forming new connections! On the other hand she's miffed about the entire thing, because, like, taco was There For All That AND THEN killed her. But its fine when she does it I guess?? Mic is used to people not being her biggest fans but the scorn she faces from TT seems a lot more personal.

Maybe Test Tube is less plussed about the stealing and murder than she is about the betrayal of trust. I mean, its not like she ever met taco before and she only ever heard about her through word of mouth (maybe from fan?), and even after getting to know her she wouldnt put her trust in someone like Taco so easily. But she did trust Mic, who then went behind her back, and shes obviously upset about that. I don't know. I would need to rewatch II again to make an educated guess.

So this is definitely not how their dynamic would go, and the short is definitely not canon so take this all with a grain of salt. I just think it would be interesting to flip mic and taco's interactions with the others around so mics sitting there like... is this how you feel all the time. Also, its funny, and the bit is all that matters. Thank you for your time 👍

Yes!! I love that they seemed to get along well in the short. Testy called Taco a 'fellow intellectual'!!! This would probably be the crux of their relationship, yeah? There aren't a lot of objects Test Tube can talk sciencey stuff too, at least ones that will understand what she's saying. Taco's company would be very appreciated, especially when trying to recreate Meeple tech!! She already jailbroke Mepad, after all.

As for when Taco killed her and Fan, yeah, Taco would probably apologize for that. I don't think it would be too big a deal though, really. A lot of them might be in a pretty forgiving mood, since they're questioning how many of their actions have been up to them vs determined by their coding, yeah?

Test Tube being more upset at Mic for revealing her secret lab than at Taco for killing her and Fan is so funny to me, I love it. It makes sense to me, honestly. There was a lot of killing and death during the game, but only one secret lab.

Mic thinking about that being how Taco feels all the time also!! <3 It probably is pretty close, though Mic cares more about how other people see her than Taco does, generally. She's much more self-confident now, don't get me wrong, but Taco doesn't seem to give a shit about most people unless a) its them as a collective, not an individual or b) someone she's actually formed a close bond with. So it would probably affect Mic more deeply, in terms of Test Tube specifically. In general yeah Taco is surrounded by people that she knows hate her so that's pretty bad.
