I had such a blast at MCM!!! 😭

Not only did i have the pleasure of hosting the BG3 stamp rally, I was able to meet the lovely artists- and get a bunch of beautiful goodies to support them also!!! 🥺

Also- with the help of all the rally artists, we were all able to complete our own cards and get some lovely art each!!- we also created 2 extra baggies and gifted them to Neil and Devora- Devora's reaction killed me 😭 She saw the pack and said "You're the rally people!" I added a little Lae'zel charm and badge to her pack 🥺😭

Independant Work [Mouthwashing: Curly]

A few weeks ago I watched a playthrough of the game Mouthwashing and it hasn't left my brain since. In a record speed, I made some fanart for Curly, who was the captain of the ship before the crash.

This gif is a basic sketch but it's a simple animation. I put Curly in the middle then added the cracked screen in the background you can see in the game.

I made specifically his eye and the background move (other than inconsistency with colouring) because in the game, the background screen is constantly glitching and his eye always shakes and tracks the player.

Here's the reference I used for Curly, it was difficult to find a forward facing view but I managed to make it work.

Here is the scene where the screen gets smashed so I used this screenshot as reference for the cracks.

Here is the actual scene of the 'Emergency' screen. When I refine the animation, I'll definitely add the broken parts of colour.

Other than these parts of the game, I was inspired by a lot of artists on twitter. Because Mouthwashing is so psychological and has many motifs/themes it inspires many artists to create interesting art. Below I'll send some of my favourites.

I can't read their name but I really like this artwork, it references a rather trippy sequence at the end of the game and also features common things in the game, like Cake (There's a birthday party), Mouthwash (Like the game name) and Curly's eye (Basically the logo of the game)

I like how detailed Curly is with his muscle and the blood on his bandages and his clothes, it makes it feel really realistic even if he's in a white void.

This one made by Crowstien is really good, The background inspired me a lot and I like how the bandages are layered on him. I also like the glowing mouthwash and how it drips from his mouth.

Here is another one from the artist I can't name properly but I really like how they draw Curly. They make his muscle/burned tissue look really good and I love the background in this one, it matches the horror and trippy vibes of the game.

The last one I really liked was this one, I love the background and how Curly is positioned on the mouthwash bottles. I also like his party hat, it's kinda cute.

I like Curly a lot, both before and after the crash. While he's not a perfect person, he didn't deserve his fate, especially near the end of the game. The main character Jimmy is a jerk. But the characters are all very complex as people and I love this game. You might see other posts about this game, depending how inspired I am for fanart.

Finished a playthrough of arcade spirits and I'm in love. What a lovely game, wonderful characters and interesting story. (And it does help that Jakface did all the artwork and I've been a fan since the good ol' Groose hayday) Percy's character really reminds me of my husband the similarities are almost freaky lol. 10/10 would recommend ;)
