middle of february, the weather outside was certainly frightful. unfortunately for you, you’ve never had a habit of carrying around gloves with you, usually relying on your pockets if it was bad.

today, you also forgot to check the time when you were leaving the school grounds and by getting caught up talking with your friends, you missed your bus. deciding to walk home in the freezing cold instead of waiting ten minutes for another nice and warm bus was of course the perfectly reasonable way out, at least to you. your house was a fair half an hour away by foot, but at least you didn’t stand in place freezing.

then, the snow started falling. relying on your phone for directions (as you usually take the bus, and it does get dark pretty quickly in winter), you were silently cursing yourself for not getting the damn gloves.

fingers numb from the cold, it was getting harder and harder to use the phone. just then, a miracle, you saw a smaller store lightened up with various decorations. it looked very cozy from the outside, café-like.

“i can at least ask for something warm to drink…” you mumbled to yourself, hiding your phone in your pocket and effectively also hiding your hands from the cold outside. “i’ll just uber home or something…”

the small bell above the door dinged quietly as you went inside the place. there was a counter in the back, a couple tables decorated with red and pink balloons, and more comfy seats. yet the what occupied most of the space were bookshelves. tons and tons of books. despite all of the cosy sofas, no one seemed to be sitting inside the place. maybe everyone else was scared away by cold (the very thing that lured you in).

cleaning your boots on the rug by the door, you slowly made your way to the counter. just as you did, a beautiful girl came up to it, a roll of packing paper and a stack of books in her arms.

“excuse me-“

“just a second,” she quickly placed her stuff down and looked up at you with a bright smile. “hi! what can i help you with?”

as if you weren’t outside in the cold just seconds ago, your whole body heated up. your probably could blame the sudden heat rushing to your cheeks on the temperature change, but maybe not the way you suddenly were at a loss of words.

maybe noticing your sudden distraction, the pretty clerk awkwardly grinned. “you okay there?”

“uh- y-yeah!” you cleared your throat quickly, trying to play off the sudden nervousness. “can i get a hot chocolate?”

“sure,” she grinned in response before glancing at the books she just put down. she seemed to be in thought before she looked up at you again, looking satisfied with herself. “to celebrate valentines, we have a very special offer. if you come with a date, you guys get a 20% discount.”

“oh,” valentines, right. well, you obviously didn’t have anyone with you, why else would you go to a cafe by yourself, in the freezing cold. “uhm, i don’t have, no.”

before the cute clerk could react, you paid for the drink with your phone and smiled at her awkwardly, then going to sit down at one of the tables.

a couple minutes later, you were enjoying the warm atmosphere of the cafe, the clerk placed a tall glass of hot chocolate decorated by a cloud of whipped cream and many small marshmallows in front of you. just as you turned your head to thank her, she surprised you by sitting down on the other side of your table in her hand was a glass of chocolate, mirroring yours.

she suddenly reached her hand out, placing a couple coins on the table. “if you don’t have a date, you could always let me assist you?”

sill surprised, you slowly glanced around the cafe, as if to making sure there was really no one else.

sensing your confusion, the clerk cleared her throat softly and placed her glass on the table. “no one is here today. and i just think you’re cute. i paid for my coffee, so here’s your 20% back..?”

looking down at the money she put on the table earlier, you couldn’t help but let out a quiet chuckle. maybe the whole place being so empty at this hour was a sign.

“no harm in trying, i guess. i’m y/n.”

she smiled brightly before picking up her glass and holding the straw to her lips. “i’m kyujin. happy valentines!”

that’s a bit goofy answer 😭 but she adores when you talk to her about some books you read. she doesn’t care if it’s a piece she knows or not- she’s all ears. might make a ‘lily’s lost the plot’ about something you recommended. totally brags ‘my gf said this book is so cool and i love it and i love my gf’ and is just all smiley. everyone totally teases her if they see lily with a book you mentioned the previous day.

your voice

especially when you read to her. i always see reader asking haewon to sing and i feel like haewon would like you to read a chapter every night. that way you’re both going over books she deems as necessary to read. also if she’s away from you, she’ll call you first thing in the morning and say with a very raspy voice ‘hi love, i just wanted to hear you. could you tell me that quote from shakespeare again?’

your hands

another goofy answer- she just loves to hold hands with you. maybe you’re sitting with her in the dorms watching a movie, she’s playing with your fingers. give it that kyujin sits between the two of you, sullyoon will stretch her arm so far that she’s still touching your hand. if anyone passes by, they’ll probably laugh at her, because the position seems absolutely uncomfortable. sullyoon is happy tho, she can have her skin to skin contact.

your nose

she’s very goofy. she likes to just come up and bop you on the nose. will hiss if you do it back though. it’s her form of showing affection. she also likes eskimo kisses! adores them. that’s basically the way she greets you- you’re sitting anywhere, she comes up, leans down, rubs her nose against yours and walks away. i feel like she’s the type to do the ‘i got your nose’ thingy too. you’re feeling bad? she comes running, pokes your nose lightly and says the phrase with a cheeky grin. cheers you up on the spot, no questions asked.

bae jinsol | 🐥

your height

bae is tall. not enormously tall, but still towers a bit over the members. she just assumes you’re shorter than her (if you’re not, she’ll find a way). she likes to put her chin you the top of your head, or your shoulder. just back hugs you and stuffs her face in the crook of your neck. says it’s very comfortable and does it a couple times a day.

your stuffed animals

if you’ve seen my haewon smau, i’m a firm believer that jiwoo has a collection of plushies. every kind. although i see her as the type of person to send you a picture of two stuffed animals and say ‘that’s so us’. has probably kidnapped at least three of your plushies, they are either her children or being held hostage. that’s also the way to get her to do anything. she will marry you at the spot if you take her to build-a-bear.

she’s just really soft for them. she loves cuddling with you anytime, anywhere. could be in the back of the manager’s car while going on schedule, or on the sofa when you visit her at the dorms. she just loves to hug you! poor baby will be so pouty at a practice if she doesn’t get one hug from you previously :(
