I'm taking a slightly different approach to Drakyr's company chocobo, Lilarc, and the black chocobo Haurchefant gave her.

Lilarc was already Drakyr's - he's the draft chocobo that pulls her carriage (which is canon to her because I paid real money for it lol). Although he joins her in battle, he's too large for her to ride comfortably and safely.

As luck would have it, however, the black chocobo Haurchefant gave her - which I don't have a name for yet - was too small for him to ride, yet the perfect size for Drakyr. What a splendid coincidence!

I don't show off Lilarc nearly enough so here he is:

His plumage is pumpkin orange. Just like Drakyr's! They do say pets resemble their owners lol.

I'll work on a name for the black chocobo in the meantime. Suggestions are welcome if you have any.

Mimble's Monstrous Munday Musings

When I was younger, I was certainly more ecstatic about the idea of planning some pranks with some friends. These days, though, I kind of just want to chill and do my own thing. The most I have as a 'prank' these days is telling someone something extremely wrong on purpose about whatever game we're playing. Similar to when people used to call the Cape Westwind trial when it existed the hardest one to exist to screw with genuine sprouts to FFXIV.

You know what? Just to give you the chance to ramble about your elf husband, gimme Aymeric for the character bingo too :D

A BINGO FOR HALI’S MAN!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Aymeric was one of the first characters that I personally latched onto when I first started playing FFXIV, and I remember thinking “This man is GORGEOUS and he has the sexiest voice EVER?!?! Yup, he’s definitely going to betray us at some point.”

Yeah, I thought he was a secret villain because I know my Final Fantasy. There was no way that they would make the hottest man I’ve ever seen, give him a voice like THAT, and not have him be the villain. But you know what? They subverted my expectations and made him FFXIV’s Prince Charming, and I just fell in love so damn hard.

I have been a WoL x Aymeric shipper for much longer than most think, because before I created Hali, I tried shipping Yume with Aymeric (which didn’t work out how I had hoped because their personalities didn’t fit together), and then before I created Yume, I didn’t have a full fleshed out WoL OC, but I always loved the idea of WoL x Aymeric.

Aymeric (besides G’raha) is one of my favorite FF characters, not just in XIV but the entire series, and I still love playing through HW all these years later because I love his story, and I love his character arc. I think his crush on WoL is the best thing ever too, because he’s super sweet, charming, and not too overbearing about it, whereas I think G’raha’s crush is really heavy handed most of the time, so I think they handled Aymeric better in that regard too.

Overall, I LOVE HIM!!! But you already knew that… 😁

So this started out as a random Aymeric photoshoot, but I thought I'd get some battle animation shots too. (Thanks to this post for providing his moveset!)

This is from the animation for Riot Blade. Nice. Dramatic.

But then I tried Spirits Without, and he does this reverse grip-flip that was too cool to just take a static image of. Here it is in gif form, slowed down to 0.3-something.

Hello fellow FFXIV gposers! I've made this post to pass along a few tips for working with Aymeric and a few quirks of his model. Both of these tips were picked up along the way; I want to send a thank you to those who gave them to me - @lilbittymonster in particular - so I could give them to you.

I'm working with Brio for this. Hopefully they are still applicable to other programs, as I'm not familiar with them.

First: Aymeric's earring. As many of you have seen, his earring is "attached" to his armour, so changing whatever is in his "body" slot removes it. But there's a quick fix:

Simply enter "86" into the first section.

Second: His hair. It clips through hats and other headgear.

That is, unless you switch to the player version of his hair, which is number 150 in the hairstyle menu.

Voila! Aymeric can wear hats now!

That's that. Two easy fixes to make gposing with Aymeric that much better.😄Thanks again to those from whom I picked up these tidbits. I list them here only in the hopes of spreading them to as many people as possible. (And to make an easy reference for myself lol)

ooooOOOOH Aymeric did get hit with the graphics update beam, at long last!

Of course one of the first things I did today was replay old cinematics just to check on him lol. His face wasn't changed, just polished up. But still, the more I compare, the more noticeable it is.

As for fun facts...well, all three are foodies in their own way. Sharing good food and new recipes is one of their primary love languages. Aymeric and Drakyr being great cooks helps.

Estinien gets the majority share of dried squid though - Aymeric doesn't like the texture, and while Drakyr likes dried squid fine enough, she doesn't love it like he does.
