Daiki has just finished his first class teaching the second including Jaden Yuki, the one Zane selected for his Graduation Match and Alexis Rhodes, the Queen of Obelisk Blue. Taking a break the young man sits back and relaxs for now.

   The boss had been acting strange as of late.

   And this was a point of concern amongst Ojama Yellow and his brothers because even though he acted strange all the time. He also acted cruel and callous and shy and so many other things, too, but it was still concerning to see him acting stranger than usual.

   Ojama Green had noticed that the boss had taken more pride in his appearance as of late. As he should! He was a good looking young man, they were very proud of him, but then just when it seemed to be getting good, he ruined it. He still embraced black, that was fine, everyone looked good in black, and he still stank, also good, also fine, everyone should embrace the au naturale look, but it was strange.

   He had really gotten into wearing belts as of late.

   Being Ojamas, Yellow, Black, and Green didn’t need belts so to see the boss wear one, yes, that’s fine. Humans wore belts. But they didn’t wear two or as many as three, and that’s not even counting all the zippers! Very strange…

   Ojama Black had noticed that the boss was listening to more music as of late. All noise to him and the other two, of course. Everything human was just noise to them. Pop? Pop what? Rock? Like the rocks outside? Jazz? Did that have anything to with jasmine flowers? They had no clue but this? This was the absolute worst of the worst that the boss had put on, either through the radio or from his slick CD stack.

   This music was miserable. Mopey. And that’s when the lyrics were legible! Absolutely atrocious. It was sad but true. The boss had an absolutely horrid taste in music. Even before he started to wear way too many belts for his scrawny waist and well after he, um, well…

   Ojama Yellow had noticed because as one might expect from being the yellow Ojama, yellow was his favourite colour and now the boss had gone and dyed a stripe in his hair yellow. It looked good though. The jagged stripe of yellow in the black of his fringe, the rest of his messy head of spiky hair was untouched. Save for that yellow stripe.

   But it still signified that something strange was afoot with the boss.

   “Do humans typically change hair colour as they age?” Ojama Yellow asked.

   “I think so, yeah.” Ojama Black agreed, nodding his head and folding his arms in front of him.

   “Yeah!” Ojama Green agreed. “It means they’re getting old.”

   “Old?!” Ojama Yellow squealed. “Wait, if the boss is getting old…”

   “Oh, and humans don’t live as long as us…” Ojama Green observed.

   “And the music he’s been playing lately has been super sad and depressing…” Ojama Black added.

   The realisation was imminent. The atmosphere as the three brothers bobbed and floated up and down inside the boss’ flat inside the Osris Red dorm began to stiffen. Got cold. Literally. They could hear a draught whistle through underneath the flimsy front door to the dorm room.

   “Do you… do you think the boss is wearing more belts now because he can’t keep his old man pants up…?” Ojama Green asked.

   All three Ojamas paused a moment. That was another thing that they had heard about old humans. They lost control of their bowel movements. And they lost weight and height. Was the boss getting shorter? None of them knew off the top of their heads as he was at class right now and oh boy they could use an education right about now, too.

   Questions began to pile up as did the cold wind inside the dorm room. The curtains flapped as no one wanted to say what they were thinking out loud but being beautifully bonded brothers, they all knew what each other was thinking. 

   How long did humans typically live for anyway? Two-three years? Or was it more like two or three hundred? 

   “Do you think the boss is dying?” Ojama Yellow asked.

   “Do you think he’s trying to get his eulogy written?” Ojama Black asked.

   “Maybe he’s trying to figure out what the best thing to wear to his permanent dirt nap is?”

   “What are you imbeciles talking about?” Jun asked as he slammed open the door. “I can hear you guys prattle from outside.”

   The door banged and clanged. The noise rattled all the termite bitten wood of the dorm room as Jun stepped inside. Irate, annoyed, stick up his ass. All like he normally was.

   If he was getting on in age and getting ready to die, he was still plenty spry if that display of how he stormed about his room was any indication.

   “Bosssssss!” Ojama Yellow squealed.

   He sent himself flying, catapulting, hurtling into the side of Jun’s face. Jun groaned. Luckily, in the real world, his Duel Monster Spirits were just airy blasts of nothing but it still icked him out to have the leader of the trio nuzzle against his face, holding him an incredibly tearful embrace.

   “Are you dying?” Ojama Black and Ojama Green asked as they cautiously hovered closer.

   “What? No?” Jun snarled. “What gave you that idea?”

   “Your clothes.” Ojama Green said.

   “Your awful music.” Ojama Black added.

   And to finish ito ff, Ojama Yellow wailed, “Aaaand your hair!”

   Jun took a moment. He was an idiot amongst idiots. Not that he self-identified as such but it was true. He was an idiot but searching for the even bigger idiots logic in this took him a moment. He hummed thoughtfully.

   “...Do you think human hair goes yellow when they get older?” he asked.

   “Er, yes.” Ojama Yellow said.

   “Nincompoops. Human hair goes grey when they get older. Not yellow.” Jun growled.

   “Oh thank goodness, we thought you were growing up and dyingggg.” Ojama Yellow wailed.

   Jun flicked the little guy off his face and sighed.

   “We thought your music was you picking out a song for your funeral! Something to make us feel even worse when we mourn you.” Ojama Black said.

   “And that your clothes didn’t fit you anymore.” Ojama Green added.

   Jun really did not want to know the logic on that second point but he could half-see Ojama Black’s point. He sighed, a nasally noise. 

   “It's called emo and its music.” Jun said. “And it's not a phase.”

   “I see, I see.” chimed in Ojama Green and Ojama Black.

   But Ojama Yellow was silent. Though his eyes said more than anything he ever could with his mouth. His eyes glittered as he looked up at Jun, the boss. Utter adoration in his expression.

   “What do you want?” Jun said.

   “Then why’s your hair yellow?” Ojama Yellow asked.

   Jun could practically see his Spirit partner get his hopes up. Worse still, he wasn’t wrong. Ideally, Jun would never admit that short of it being pried out of his mouth with a crowbar. But he had chosen yellow for a very special and apparently very obvious reason.

   He lifted his hand, extended his pointer finger and Ojama Yellow clasped onto it with both his hands. Jun couldn’t feel Ojama Yellow’s wrinkly, putrid flesh but the meaning of it was just as heartfelt.

   “Because you're my ace monster, that’s why.” Jun said with half a smile.

   “Boss…” Ojama Yellow teared up, his voice stricken with tears of gratitude.

   “Boss…” Ojama Black and Ojama Green echoed but their voices were a coarse choir. They knew that the boss had a very special bond with their yellow brother in particular.

   Not only was it relieving to learn that the boss wasn’t dying, it was reliving to know that in his cold, black soul, there was a soft spot for them all. Even if Ojama Yellow was, by all accounts, his favourite. 

   “Your welcome…” Jun murmured. He felt awkward opening up to Ojama Yellow like that but it was true. He was the Ojama guy in the pro-circuit and he was his Ojama’s guy as well in his personal life. Even if he didn’t want to be, not always, but he was and that meant a lot to him.

   Hence a yellow stripe in his hair as he experimented with emo. Yet another strange thing about him. But to the Ojamas, the boss was a strange person. He was rude and standoffish. He had poor sense of fashion and even worse taste in music but deep down, he was actually a pretty pure-hearted guy who loved his Ojama Trio - and Ojama Yellow most of all.

Nightmare Before The Duel

Jaiden: This is crazy…

Jaiden spoke what everyone else was thinking as they sat together in the Slifer Red Dorm. You see about a week ago there had been talks of a incident that happened at the Obelisk Blue Dorms. A couple of the students were shocked awake by screaming near there dorms and rushed too go see what it was. What they found was a terrified student out in the Hallways pointing towards the end of the hallway.

The student was ranting and raving about a giant beast with huge claws and a spear like horn chasing and roaring at them. The other students looked around but didn't find the huge beast the scarred Student was ranting about. So it was quickly pushed aside as some sleep walking nightmare that the Student experienced and everyone went back too sleep.

However it quickly became apparent that something strange was going on at the Obelisk Dorms. The next night a couple of students ran into the main hall shouting how they were being chased by a snake like creature with wings and long claws, after that it quickly became a constant with more and more students seeing the terrifying creatures when ever night fell. It had been going on for a week and many of Obelisk's students were really starting too get freaked out. Of course the tales and rumors of the incidents did not take long too travel through out Duel Academy. Jaiden as per usual was the one who got most interested in the rumors and quickly talked about it with Syrus, Chummley, and Phos too see if they had any insight on the rumors. All of them basically had the same amount of knowledge Jaiden had but quickly got interested on what was going on with the Obelisk Dorms after that conversation.

And the best way too get a low down on what's happening was through a friend of the group. Alexis Rhodes on of about 4 Obelsik Students that the group knew that wouldn't laugh or write them off as soon as they tried too talk them. Seriously it was actually annoying how a bunch of Obelisk students would not talk too them because of being Slifer's. It was really quite rude!

Anyway Jaiden and the gang did find Alexis who was currently in the school library talking with Mindy and Jasmine the other 2 Obelisk students who would talk too them. Alexis along with Mindy and Jasmine did not mind telling Jaiden and the others what was going on in the Obelisk Dorms as Alexis figured there was no point in keeping others in the dark. That is when they learned the extent of it, the hallways and various areas of the Dorm had been continuedly plagued by strange unnerving sounds and the sightings of various Monsters roaming around the Dorms. Alexis at first just thought the same as everyone else the first time it happened. that it was just a nightmare or someone's anxiety got the better of them during the night, but that changed a couple days ago when Alexis saw on of those Monsters roaming the main area. A 2 headed beast, both heads resembling lions with one having a single horn and the other having 2 with wings, and a snake for a tail prowling the main area. Needless too say it was a little unnerving too see. She hid behind a wall and after what felt like a few minutes peaked her head out only too see the mysterious beast gone.

A spooky story that definitely put Syrus and Chummley on edge, Jaiden had a contemplative look while Phos was just stone faced not spooked at all by the story. After that Jaiden and the gang returned back too the Slifer Dorm too discuss what they had been told by Alexis. Which has brought us too the current moment.

Chummley: Ya no kidding. Monsters roaming around the Obelisk Dorms at night! That is definitely not 'licious. Makes me glad I am Slifer.

Syrus: Right there with ya buddy. Makes me glad that we just worry about running into the rats around here.

Phos: Monsters that appear only at night..quite a anomaly. Wonder what could be causing such a occurrence in the first place.

Everyone looked at Jaiden with surprise at the bold declaration. Syrus sputtered a bit before speaking.

Syrus: No! No way! Absolutely not happening! Jaiden we JUST escaped expulsion! If we go too the Obelisk Dorms and get caught we will immediately be expelled on the spot! No Duel or test or amount of pleading will save us!

Syrus pointily stated the problem in Jaiden idea, which made Jaiden pause and mind visibly reboot like those old Windows 95 computers before another idea struck him.

Jaiden: Well we might not be able too go but I know someone else who can go in our stead, someone who is super smart and can easily get too the Obelisk Dorms * Wraps arm around Phos's shoulder* Isn't that right buddy!

Everybody was starring at Phos after what Jaiden said seeing where Jaiden was going with his idea

Phos:…Bastion?

A Couple Hours Later

Phos: Alright, the pendant is down. I am turning on the camera now! See if the Laptop picks up the video feed.

Syrus who was manning the Laptop checked if it was picking up the signal and gave a A-Ok.

Jaiden: Sweet! With this we can have front row seats too what's going on in the Obelisk Dorms. It will be like watching a movie!

Chummley: Ya a scary and suspenseful one…

Jaiden: Don't worry Chummley, you will be right here in the Dorms with us. Phos on the other hand, will braving the unknown.

Phos: Yaayyy…..

Syrus: Anyway with the Spy Pendant up and running all we have too do now is wait for too be midnight. Everyone over there should be sleeping making it the perfect time for Phos too sneak in a check what's going on. So um… what do we do until than?

Chummley: Wanna play Donkey Kong Country?

Jaiden: I'm in!

Another 2 Hours

In the woods near the Obelisk Dorms Phos stood hidden looking over the building too see if they could spot anything strange from there current position. While doing so they pressed a button on the Pendant so they could speak too Jaiden and the others.

Phos: Guys can you see and hear othering alright?

Jaiden: 10-4 good buddy! We hear you loud and clear!

Syrus: Be careful out there Phos! Try not too run into any of those Monsters!

Chummley: Ya! Especially the spooky Monsters!

Phos gave a simple " Of Course" in response as they started too make there way through Dorm grounds.

Meanwhile back at the Slifer Dorms with Jaiden, Syrus, and Chummley. Syrus noticed that Jaiden was in a thinking pose and got curious as too what his friend was thinking and of coursed asked.

Jaiden: Well you remember the Monster Alexis described seeing?

Syrus: Ya, why do you ask?

Jaiden: Well it's been annoying me because I feel like I know what Monster she was describing. It sounds so familiar too a Monster I have seen before but the name is escaping me. Just what is that Monster's name…?

A befuddled look found it's way onto Syrus and Chummley's face at Jaiden's odd musings but decided too just let Jaiden be and go back too watching for spooky spirits. Phos meanwhile was walking through the outer halls looking for any suspicious activity…it did not take long in the slightest. It was only about 5 Minutes since Phos began there search and as they rounded a corner as too one of the outside walk ways, that's when they saw a Monster.

The Monster looked like a lizard centaur that was covered in stone who was currently prowling around the grounds. Quickly hiding behind a wall Phos pressed the button and quietly spoke too everyone.

Phos: guys…I found one of the Monsters that Alexis had been talking about.

The sound of wrestling along with what sounded like a chair falling over echoed over the comms before Jaiden spoke.

Jaiden: What do they look like? Are they small or huge? Do they have big claws or do they have huge saber like fangs or both? Actually see if you can angle the camera around the corner so we can see!

Phos gave a ok before angling the Pendant around the corner so Jaiden and the gang could see the Duel Spirit.

Jaiden:…Um Phos, we can see the Monster.

Huh?

Syrus: But do we really want too see the Monsters Jaiden?

Jaiden: Don't be ridiculous Sy of course we do. it's one of the reasons we put this plan together.

Chummly: As scary as it is, I do kinda wanna see what these Monsters look like.

Ash tried once again too angle the pendant camera for a clearer sight for everyone too see, once again Jaiden and the others couldn't see anything! Why?! What is going on?! Finally Phos got fed up and when the Monster turned around Phos took this chance too stand dead center in the hallway were it was a clear shot for them too see. Again Nothing!

This was very much confusing Phos and the others. Well until the Monster turned around and Phos noticed that the Monster's tail phased through a pillar even if it was only slightly. It was at that point that a lightbulb went off in Phos's head. Phos put back there pendant around there neck as they went forward towards the Monster. The Monster saw Phos's approaching and began too let out roars towards Phos's in extreme aggression but Phos showed no fear as they went forward until they were right in front of the angry Monster, than Phos put there hand forward as Phos's hand phased right through the Monster. Phos brought there hand back and looked back up at the Monster with a blank look as the Monster too k a step back and starred back at Phos.

Phos: I knew it…you are not a Monster, you are a Hologram, a Illusion.

These Monsters that have been terrorizing the Students Of Obelisk Blue were nothing more than a Illusion crafted too terrorize the Students. This was…a revelation too put it lightly and Jiaden, Chummly, and Syrus thought so too. It also explained why Jaiden and the others couldn't see the Monsters as Holograms and Illusions didn't appears over video feed. All this explained lot but not the question that Phos came here too answer why were there Illusions of monsters here? And it was question Phos was determined too answer.

So Phos looked straight at the illusion and spoke.

Phos: Whoever is the one that created these Illusions, I know you can hear me. Please come out so we can talk! I want too know why you are scarring these Students!

After Phos finished they stared at the Illusion for what felt like forever before a calm voice spoke up behind Phos.

????: How fascinating, you showed no fear and were able too see through my Illusions as well. Just who are you young wander because I can tell you are not human.

Phos immediately turned around too see who was talking and was surprised by the sight before them as were Jaiden and the others who could see the being from the camera this time. The Person was tall and adorned in attire of both gold, silver and dark purple. They had on a big golden hat with purple adorning the top part along with golden wings on the bottom of it, a cape which was golden on the outside but purple on the inside and also on the lower parts was multi-colored like the northern lights. The being's face was completely covered by a mask with the same northern lights color that the cape had and had green hair flowing from beneath there hat. However what caught everyone's attention both present and watching was the symbol that continuously adorned the entire attire.

A Golden Eye that seemed too stare right through you. The same eye Jaiden, Phos and the others encountered when Jaiden battled that phony Shadow Duelist too save Alexis and how the battle became all too real.

Nightmare: Let me properly introduce myself. I am Nightmare Magician, a Duel Spirit. And may I ask your name Young Wanderer?

Phos and there others were surprised by this as this isn't the first time they had too deal with a Duel Spirit as everyone remembered Jaiden's battle against Jinzo.

Phos: My name is Phos and it's nice too meet you Nightmare Magician. However I wish it was under better circumstances. Please tell me, why are you having your Illusions terrorize the Students here?

At that question Nightmare's demeanor shifted as they stood at there full height and spoke with venom lacing there words.

Nightmare: Why you ask? I am enacting retribution on these horrid humans hat live hear! It is because of one of them that one of my the Duel Spirits that I watch and care for was horribly injured!

Nightmare in a fluid motion pulled out a card from there hand that was torn in 2 and showing it too Phos and the others watching.

Nightmare: This card belongs too Gazelle, King Of Mythical Beasts. A Student living here wielded the card but decided that it was too weak for them and was worthless! So what did they decided too do?! They ripped it in half and threw it too the winds! That action was not only a sign of disrespect too the Duel Spirit but…it horribly tore at Gazelle themselves. They were left wounded and weak at the destruction of there card. When I saw the pain that was inflicted upon them I rushed up too the Human world and sought out the one responsible for the pain Gazelle was suffering. And I found them and brought horror upon them so they may feel a fraction of the fear they inflicted upon Gazelle with there injury. However as I stayed around this place I noticed how horrid the students were too others not of there Dorm and status, how cruel they were. It disgusted me! So I decided that they must all face retribution! They must all will feel fear for the amount of cruelty they take joy on inflicting too others. They will all be punished for there cruelty not only for Gazelle but for everyone they have inflicted pain upon!

The air was quiet after Nightmare finished telling there tale too Phos. Phos stood there taking in the entire story and thinking it over for a bit. Nightmare was patient as Phos thought over what was told too them and after a bit Phos spoke up.

Phos: I understand Nightmare. My friends and family are very precious too and if something happened too them I would be upset and angry too…but I can not accept terrorizing people especially people that had absolutely nothing too do with it. It will not help them feel better from there injuries and will not change what has already happened. This has gone on far enough your anger has now gone onto terrorizing and scaring innocent people who are good and kind. People that respect and love there Duel Monsters too. What that student did was not right however what you are doing is senseless and seems too have no end.

Phos took a step forward and threw out there ace too try and put a end too this.

Phos: However I know you won't stop that easily so I how about this. I purpose a Duel and if I win you will leave the students hear alone.

Nightmare, Jaiden, Syrus, and Chummly were all taken aback by the proposition but that quickly faded as Nightmare let out a chuckle at the unexpected turn.

Nightmare: How interesting, a Duel too settle things. Alright than I accept but I must ask what do I get if I win?

Phos: I will not stop you from carrying out your retribution and..I will also accept punishment from you.

Nightmare was surprised by the last thing but was now fully intrigued and accepted the deal..with one change.

Nightmare: Fine I accept those terms on one condition. You must face me in your true form. I can only imagine how tiring it must be too hide your true form for Gods know how long and besides if I am too face you I wish too be able too see my opponents true face.

Phos: Um ok if that's what you want.

Nightmare: Good! Now come along and follow me. If we are going too have this Duel it should be in a secluded place.

Syrus: This is crazy!!! Phos is gonna be battling them!? That Nightmare Magician guy??? He seems super scary and probably is a dueling wiz or something. I mean remember what happened with Jinzo. Not too mention Phos is putting themselves in danger here who knows what will happen if they lose!!!

Chummly: I don't like this one bit. What if the punishment is that they can't have there favorite snack for like a month or something. I can't imagine a month without eating a single grilled cheese.

Jaiden: Come guys, have little faith! This is Phos were talking about! I seen Phos Duel and even though there new there a real quick study. And they always believed in us when Sy and I battled those Tag Team Duelist they didn't doubt are victory for a second and when Chummly was Duelin' his dad they kept on cheerin' on Chummly positive that he would win. So I say we show the same support, even if they can't hear us we gotta cheer with all our might! Come on Phos! Get Your Game On!

Sy and Chummly looked at each other before cheering on Phos themselves.

Nightmare: This should be far enough.

Nightmare and Phos stood on opposite ends of each other as they stood in a small clearing in the woods.

Nightmare: I will ask this before we start Phos, are you sure you wish too put yourself on line for these humans. Not only do I have no quarrel with you, you are also not human and have no connection too them. So I ask do you want too call of this challenge? I will not hold anything against you, if you do.

Phos: Thank you but like I said I can't stand by and watch people get punished and terrorized for things they had nothing too do with. And if this Duel is the only way too make you see that than I will Duel with all my heart!

Nightmare let out a hum as Phos could tell even through the Vizor that they were looking straight at them.

Nghtmare: I admire your bravery and compassion but I will carry out my Judgement on these wretched humans for what they not only did too Gazelle but for the cruelty they carry! Now!

As Nightmare said that they snapped there fingers and a translucent Deck appeared at there side, Phos immediately got out there Duel Disk and Deck and put it together. Soon the familiar hum of the Duel Disk sounded out as the Card Grid snapped into place as Phos inserted there Deck into the slot.

Let's Duel!!!

Nightmare an Phos both drew there starting 5 Cards, well Phos did as Nightmare's cards appeared behind them.

Nightmare: I will let you have the first move.

Phos: Thanks… Thoughts 2 Spells, 2 Monsters, 1 Trap..alright let's do this. * Out Loud* First I play the Spell Card Pot Of Greed and draw 2 Cards than I play the Continuous Spell Shard Of Greed. So each time I conduct my Draw, 1 counter is placed on this card and can send this card too the graveyard with 2 too draw 2 new cards. Than I place one Monster Face-Down in Defense Mode and another Face-Down Card and end my turn.

Nightmare: Alright let's see what your made of! I Draw! I summon Mirror SwordKnight in Attack Mode!

Mirror SwordKnight LV 4, ATK 1900, DEF 300

Nightmare: Than I place 3 cards Face-Down and equip Mirror SwordKnight with Fairy Meteor Crush! Now my Mirror SwordKnight can inflict piercing damage too your Monster while they are in Defense Mode! Now Mirror SwordKnight attack there Face-Down Monster!

Phos: I won't let you! I activate the Trap Card Threatening Roar! Which makes it so you can not conduct your Battle Phase this turn!

Nightmare: Not bad, but not good enough! I activate my Counter Trap Dark Bribe! You have too draw 1 Card and the effect of your Trap or Spell is negated and destroyed!

Phos could do nothing as the trap was negated and destroyed but Draw the Card from there deck.

Nightmare: And do not think I will let you keep that Card as I than activate another Counter trap Drastic Drop Off, when you add Cards from your deck too your hand you must discard one of those Cards.

Uh Oh

Nightmare: Now Mirror SwordKnight Attack!

Mirror SwordKnight continued on with there attack which Phos's Monster too flip face up too show the Monster too be Fluffal Penguin

The attack pierced Fluffal Penguin causing 800 points of damage too Phos's Life Points

Phos gritted there teeth as it was only Nightmare's first turn and already they had taken a heavily loss by losing a Monster and Life Points. However Phos was surprised too see Fluffal Penguin still on the field and wondered what had happened until Nightmare spoke up,

Nightmare: I know your wondering how your Monsters survived well it's because of my Monsters effect. If Mirror Swordknight Battles neither Monster can be destroyed by that battle so your Fluffal penguin remains on the field. Consider this as a constellation prize for how much you lost during this turn. I end my turn young wanderer.

Phos had no rebuttal so they just drew there card and was about too speak before Nightmare spoke up. They activated another Trap Called Balance Of Judgement which let them draw cads up too Phos's Surplus of cards they controlled and in there hand compared too Nightmare's Phos counting there draw controlled a total of 6 Cards while Nightmare Controlled 3, which meant they could draw 3 Cards.

Phos: Thoughts This is bad, Nightmare has me on the backfoot here. I need too do something too turn this around in my favor. Let's see I still have Fluffal Penguin which is good and I have 2 Monsters, 1 Spell and 1 Trap. Ok I know what too do! * Out Loud* Ok, first off I place one Greed Counter on my Shard Of Greed Spell! Than I use the effect of Fluffal Penguin! I can Special Summon 1 Fluffal Monster once while this Card is face up on the field! And I choose too Special Summon Fluffal Dog!

Fluffal Dog LV 4, ATK 1700, DEF 1000

Phos: When Fluffal Dog is Special Summoned I can add one Edge Imp sabers or 1 Fluffal Monster from my Deck too my hand and I choose Edge Imp Sabers and summon them too the field!

Edge Imp Sabers LV 3, ATK 1200, DEF 800

Phos: Now it's time! I activate Polymerization and Fuse Fluffal Dog and Edge Imp Sabers together too Summon! Fightfur Kraken!

Frightfur Kraken LV 8, ATK 2200, DEF 3000

Phos: I place them in Defense Mode and activate there Special Effect Once Per turn I can target one Monster you control and send it too the Graveyard and I choose Mirror SwordKnight!

Fightfur Kraken leapt up into the air before letting loose a devastating slash against Mirror SwordKnight sending them too the Graveyard.

Phos: Unfortunately when the effect is activated I can not attack you directly which is why I placed them in Defense Mode and kept Fluffal Penguin in Defense Mode! I place one card face down and end my turn!

Nightmare let out a soft hum as they drew there card.

Nightmare: Most impressive taking out my Mirror SwordKnight must would have been stuck trying too take them out however in one turn you managed too take out Mirror SwordKnight and get a powerful Monster on the field. If this was any other situation I would be having fun but the time has come for me too end this Duel! First I activate Pot Of Creed and draw 2 Cards than once again I play my other Pot Of Greed for a total of 4 newly drawn cards!. Than I activate the Spell Card, Card Rotator! By sending 1 Card in my hand too the Graveyard I can make all your Monster switch too Attack Mode!

Phos became increasingly worried at what Nightmare was planning!

Nightmare: Than I activate the Spell Card Lighting Storm!!!

Back with Jaiden and the others, Jaiden let out a gasp as they sprung forward towards the computer as Sy and Chummly were startled by the out of nowhere reaction.

Syrus: What is it Jaiden?1 Why are you panicking?!?!

Jaiden: That card can be played when you have no cards on your field but your opponent does and can activate 1 of 2 affects either destroy all your opponents Trap and Spells on the field or…

Syrus and Chummly: Or?

Jaiden: Destroy all your opponents attack position Monsters.

Phos had lost all there Monsters and were left wide open too Direct Attacks.

Nightmare: Now I play Polymerization too fuse together Gazelle the King Of Mythical Beasts and Berfomet too summon Chimera The King Of Phantom Beasts!!!

Nightmare: However I am far from over! Because when Chimera The King Of Phantom Beasts is on the field there name becomes Chimera The Flying Mythical Beast! Which means I can do this, I bring back Chimera Fusion Spell from my graveyard too my hand since I have Chimera The Flying Mythical Beast on my field! Now I activate Chimera Fusion and fuse Chimera The King Of Phantom Beasts and!

Nightmare raised up a card from there hand

Nightmare: A copy of myself! Nightmare Magician! Too summon forth! Chimera The Illusion Beast!!!

Chimera The Illusion Beast LV 8, ATK 3100, DEF 2800

Phos could do nothing but watch as Nightmare called forth a direct attack against them. Chimera The Illusion Beast claw crashed down with extreme force against Phos and created a major gust of wind.

Phos: RRRR COME ON!!!

Jaiden: HANG ON THERE PHOS!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Syrus: Phos!!! Come on your not out of it yet!!!

Chummly: Phos if you win this I promise I will give you all my grilled cheeses for the week!..Well maybe about of them!

Phos just stood there arms dangling at there side as they looked down at the ground wondering what too do next. Nightmare ended there turn making it Phos's most likely last turn. Down too 100 life points, one card left in there hand which was a Monster that could not hope too face Nightmare's Duel Monster. Could…not…hope…too…face…off…against…

Wait…Phos's eyes went over too there Trap Card on the field…Phos's Monster could face off against Nightmare's Duel Monster! There was still hope for victory! A way out!

Phos: Nightmare this Duel has pushed me too my limits. However I still have life points! I can still Duel! And I know that my friends are cheering for me right now even if I can't hear them. So I won't give up, I will use everything Jaiden taught me too win and as he would say!

Phos stood straight up, eyes burning with determination as they got ready too draw.

Phos: It's Time To Get My Game On! I Draw! And since I drew another card I can place my second Greed Counter on Shard Of Greed. Which means I can cash it in by sending Shard Of Greed to the graveyard and draw 2 more cards! * Looks at all the cards* Nightmare it's time for me too win this!

Nightmare's glare under the vizor sharpened! And the spoke quickly.

Nightmare: What ever your planning I will stop it!

Phos: You can try Nightmare!!! Now meet the Monster that will be my champion!!! I summon Fluffal Mouse!!!

A tiny teal blue mouse appeared on the field with tiny angel wings and holding a donut

Everyone watching the duel was very confused by how Fluffal Mouse was going too be the Monster that won this Duel, however Phos was just getting started.

Phos: Now I activate Fluffal Mouse's Special Ability! When Fluffal Mouse is summoned during my Main Phase I can Special Summon 2 other Fluffal Mouses straight from my Deck!

Phos: Now all the pieces are in place! I reveal my face-down card! My Trap A Major Upset! Too activate A Major Upset I tribute one LV 2 or lower ATK Position and than all LV 7 or higher Special Summoned Monsters get returned too your hand!

Phos: I tribute one of my Fluffal Mouses and send Chimera The Illusion Beast back too your Extra Deck!

Fluffal Mouse began too gather enormous amounts of energy before letting out a powerful wave of energy which pushed Chimera The Illusion beast back into Nightmare's Extra Deck taking them off of the field along with Fluffal Mouse.

Nightmare: NO!!! This is far from over!!! I activate Chimera The King Of Phantom Beasts effect! I can banish them from my Graveyard and special Summon one Beast, Fiend, or Illusion Monster from my Graveyard! And I choose a copy of myself Nightmare Magician!!!

Nightmare: I can not be destroyed by battle so getting past them is futile!!!

Phos: Think again Nightmare! I play the Spell Card Frightfur Fusion! This allows me too Fusion Summon 1 Frightfur Monster from my Extra Deck by Banishing the materials listed on the card from my Field or Graveyard! And I choose too Banish Fluffal Penguin and Edge Imp Sabers too Summon Frightfur Cruel Whale!

Fightfur Cruel Whale LV 9, ATK 2600, DEF 2400

Phos: When Fightfur Cruel Whale is Fusion Summoned I can destroy 1 card on each players Field! And I choose Fluffal Mouse and Nightmare Magician! Now Frightfur Cruel Whale use Sonic Pulse Blast!!!

Fightur Cruel Whale let out a powerful pulse of sound which destroyed Fluffal Mouse and Nightmare Magician.

Nightmare was reeling from this swift turn of events and Phos was now ready too end this fight.

Phos: Now for my Final Move I play one last Spell Card! Monster Reborn! I summon back from the Graveyard Fightfur Kraken! Now Everyone attack Nightmare Magician's Life points directly!

Cruel Whale, Kraken, and Mouse all charged in and combined all there might into a powerful strike ending the Duel and giving Phos the win.

Nightmare Magician was stunned at there lose. In one turn Phos had countered every move he had made and came back from the brink of defeat. Nightmare under any other circumstances would have been incredibly impressed by the comeback but…he took out Gazelle ripped card and put his forehead on it mumbling out a " I'm sorry my friend". He lifted back up his head and spoke too Phos who had walked up in front of him.

Nightmare: I…I lost too your skill fair and square. You showed great strategy and never gave up even with everything being against you. You have won not only the bet but also my respect. I will uphold the promise young wanderer….

If Nightmare was going too say anything else he did not get the chance as Phos put there hands around his that held the ripped card.

Phos: Thank you Nightmare Magician and please if you would indulge one ask of mine and please come with me.

Nightmare Magician was confused as too why Phos wanted him too follow them.

Back At Phos's Ship

Phos: And Done! Gazelle's card is fixed! You could never tell there was even a tear in the first place.

Phos handed the Card back too Nightmare Magician who looked over the card and just as Phos said it looked brand new. Nightmare Magician was incredibly grateful and expressed his immense thanks for this act of kindness. With Gazelle's card fixed it would help expedite the healing process and bring Gazelle back too full health quite soon.

Phos soon bid Nightmare Magician far well and told him that they could visit any time that they liked and could bring his friends over too. That Phos and Spectrobes would love the company.

With the terror no longer threatening the Obelsik Students Phos went back too the Slifer Dorms too see Jaiden, Syrus and Chummly not noticing anew card had been sneakily added into Phos Deck by Nightmare Magician and that card was well none other than

Nightmare Magician

Note: WOOOOOO!!!! I am done!!! This took so long but I am happy with how it turned out! Alright if you have anything too add please tell me and next time we are heading back too the Original Yu-Gi-Oh where I will actually be using Frontier for the first Duel as a bit of a change. However it will be the exact same Duel for Phos's side of the story too. Ciao!

You did a really great job here! I can only imagine the group's reaction when Phos finds Nightmare Magician's card. At least this encounter with a Duel Spirit ended on a better note.

I wasn't originally going to do any of the other girls, I didn't think I had it in me, but I wanted to do more of this art so bad and I felt bad leaving Alexis at Alfea by herself so here we are!

I even decided to not just draw Alexis with them but also revamp her Enchantix at the last minute because the other girls were totally outdoing her, especially in the wings department and we can't have that! I mean all I really did was reshape her wings and add a tiara but still lolol 🤭💕

The fact that I stopped playing Duel Links not long after they released GX (right around when they nerfed Cyber Angels into the ground) and then came back now, when they've added all the way up to Sevens is such a nightmare because the last thing I was doing was building a Ghostrick deck for Bonz (since my fave thing is giving each character a deck they'd actually use) only to find out that not only did they barely add any Ghostrick support in... six years? They're basically unusable.

Currently, to teach myself the new deck types I've built some semblance of decks

-Yuya Structure Deck/Performapals (Pendulums) -Lunalights (Modern Fusion, since it feels different than my old Gem Knights deck) -Trickstars (Links) -Aroma Garden (Synchros, but I had this deck beforehand; Aroseraphy Jasmine didn't exist at the time, so having to completely retool the deck to use her has been... an experience. Thank you Aki for your magical Copy Plant you add to the deck)

But from there I've been staring at the Boxes like... what do I even build. I swear to god I used to be kind of okay at deck strategy and now all of these new formats break my brain. I feel like I never have enough special summons to keep up outside of Pendulum summons and Trickstar shenanigans.
