I like Japanese jazz. The jazz scene in Japan is great: CASIOPEA, SEATBELTS, Hiromi Uehara, Akira Ishikawa, so many more, all make excellent jazz music that's a delight to listen to. When I hear the term "Japanese jazz," I compartmentalize it as "probably good jazz."

However,

I have stumbled into Take Five by Minoru Muraoka.

And it has replaced that compartmentalization.

Really wish I first listened to that album in literally any other context than "five days in to a whole week of beating my head against a boss fight" because its quite nice really but everytime I put it on I just think of that wrinkled BITCH
