Why do people not like Pudding? I mean honestly, she's just a messed up kid in an adults body, and seeing her change Sanji's memory and her reflecting on how destroyed she was emotionally by finally being accepted, loved, seen as beautiful for an element that her family saw as gross and monstrous just hit me.

At the end of the day, I think my feelings towards Illario are similar to what I feel regarding Viconia and Sarevok in BG3.

These are incredibly complex characters who had such a potential behind them only to get turned into 2-dimensional mustache-twirling villains for you to hate and ridicule.

But unlike for Viconia and Sarevok, what adds insult to injury in Illario's case is that while I can squint really hard and pretend that Viconia and Sarevok are just completely new character who are just villain fodder for you to fight, I can't do the same to Illario because you can't even kill that fucker in the end because, I don't know, you're supposed to share Lucanis' sympathies regarding his fucked family? But nothing in the game is set up to make you feel that way, so the only way to get those feelings is by knowing Illario from The Wigmaker Job, but if you read it you can't pretend he's AAAAGH

Hi! I watched Dirk Strider Takes You Fishing and read all the cookiefishverse comics, here are my thoughts. Ult Dirk being pissed off that Dirk is just living his life and enjoying the mundane from a narrative point of view is really interesting, because from a meta perspective, cookiefish isnt a grand epic like homestuck proper was, its a slice of life. The rumination on the mundanities of life is the POINT, Dirks individual happiness and enjoyment of life is the POINT. The narrative has changed, Dirks purpose within the story has changed, and yet Ult Dirk cant see that. Theres my meta analysis of a panel where Dirk takes you fishing. Also Jake being scared of the oven is objectively hilarious godspeed on yall for that, boy who grew up on hellmurder island is afraid of an oven.

the jake oven bit is based on me (once…in days past…) being afraid of the oven and also that one jerma bit where jerma is afraid of the oven. because what the hell why not

cookiefish is my big post canon timeline project where fuckall happens, and even when things DO happen it’s like. not that krasy!! it may be really impactful for THAT CHARACTER’s mental, and that’s where That Arc goes, but. nobody’s dying or exploding. it’s the conflict of being a person who learns to be a god who learns to be a person again
