Apple orchard, Trinity Jersey used to be an island of orchards, most of which have sadly been lost over time. Recently though I’ve noticed more and more being planted, some definitely courtesy of @thecidermakerswife at La Robelline Cider. I think some have been planted by Jersey Heritage who have a project to preserve some of the original Jersey species of cider apples. Jersey cider is delicious, I am especially fond of Branchage by @lamareestate and have it as a treat every now and then. During my trip to #JerseyCI I was lucky to enjoy amazing and fresh produce, especially seafood and dairy, but @lockes_stories was one of my favourites places for brunch which offers vegetarian and vegan options. Beware Crapaud Crossing! A crapaud is the Jersey word for a toad. There are a species of toad (Bufo spinosus) that in the British Isles can only be found in Jersey. It is present in Iberia, North Africa and France also. The status of the species in the island is not entirely known but it is preferable that you don’t run them over, hence the road sign!
