May 17th - printmaker research

I have started looking into Linocut prints to look at mark making and how I could translate these idea into my own work/experimentations based on butterflies.

This printmaker uses his hobby to his advantage through making tattoo designs using his linocuts. Looking at his moth designs you can see he uses a bold use of solid black and white and lines to fill negative space. Standing is created using dots to make a gradient which is really effective. I want to carry on looking at Lino artists to see what mark making techniques they use on their work.

This introduction of colour into the Linoprints is interesting too I really like how this look in a neat overlapping system.

Sneak peek in the studio, new color harmony on a wall sculpture. Sharing work in progress and some studio tools and color rhythm that I use to balance my colors. 🎡Color wheels can have many shapes depending on their purpose. As you may have noticed I have a passion for colors and geometry so I did some hexagonal with different display of colors. ⏲I am taking my time for each piece, I may do 20-25 layers on this one to reach intensity and harmony. The process is my happy place.
