You could hear the music playing as you walked up the pathway to the door of the house, your tired feet dragging after the long week. Smiling, you open the door and drop your bag on the floor, kicking off your heels and heading toward the kitchen. You’re hit with the smell of baked good before you can see what’s going on, Josh’s voice carrying down the hallway.

“If you knew Peggy Sue, then you’d know why I feel blue…” Leaning against the doorframe you watch Josh dance around the large kitchen, his apron ties flapping with each shake. It isn’t until a large cloud of flour puffs up into his face that you make a sound, your uncontrolled laughter filling the room.

Turning around, whisk in hand, Josh gives you that winning smile, his soft eyes drawing you in. “Hey baby, I wasn’t sure when you’d be home.” “How was your day?” he asks, holding his arms open for you. You rush into them, laying your head against his chest as he rocks you slowly to the music. “Ugh, long again, what a week! I’m so glad it’s Friday!”

Josh kisses the top of your head, a mumbled “oops” passing his lips. Looking up you ask, “what?” “You might have some flour in your hair now!?!” he says, sucking his teeth. “Oh yea,” you smirk, lifting your hand to the counter and grabbing some more. POOF! “Well, now you do too,” you laugh, jumping up and down as you watch the flour settle atop his head.

When you finally stop laughing and breathe you manage to ask, “what are you making, anyway?” Raising his eyebrows, he whips out his vegan baking cookbook and points to the recipe for double chocolate chip cookies. “These,” he says proudly. “I knew you had been having a rough week so I thought I would try to whip something up.”

Reaching up, you place a soft kiss to his lips, tasting chocolate on his tongue. “Have you been eating the batter?” Josh’s eyes go wide, his tongue darting out to trace over his lips, “maybeeeeee, but you should try some then you’ll know why.” He grabs a spoon and scoops you a bite, carefully bringing it to your mouth. “Mmmmmm, that is delicious! I can’t wait to have a cookie! Thank you so much babe.”

Kissing some chocolate off the side of your mouth, Josh smiles then hands you another spoon. “Let’s scoop these out and get ‘em in the oven then! I still have to cook your dinner!” With the sweet smell of sugar in the air and the music playing you help Josh finish up, the stresses of the week melting away faster than the chocolate on your tongue.

So yeah, started writing and I already have a little over 1k words for my Ricki and the Flash one shot. I'm gonna make it a one shot instead of a mini series, just because I wanna make Clean Love my only series right now. I'm still learning how to balance work, writing and family. It's tough to write when I got dishes to do, laundry, cooking and feeding my sister's and also trying to figure out how to adult. Patience, but my Josh Brummel x reader fic is coming! I'm excited about it!!!!! It's gonna have back flashes and kinda follow the story, so yeah, might post it this weekend if I finish writing it 😁😁😁
