I JUST READ ALL OF YOUR FOUND FAMILY AU HC AND I LOVE IT and I want to add more stuff about uncle junho

Sometimes when inho and gihun are on a date or having a "just the two of them" moments they would ask junho to babysit, even though some of them is already grown up(bc trust me the minute they're out of inhun sight it's a mess). And the kids were like "oh come on we dont need some to babysit us" and gihun was like "nope not again the last time we left you guys alone, you almost burn the house down". But really we all know that junho is absolutely trying his best to be everyone's favorite uncle and mostly just ended up letting them do whatever they want, even letting the younger ones to eat candy or ice cream after dinner

Idk why but I feel like the older kids would try to help junho find a partner, probably even setting him up on several blind date and made him a dating app acc. They even tried to match him with the salesman(inho's personal assistant,not sure what inho's job in this au but i think it would be nice) which went better than his any other dates they set him up with so after that everytime they see them talking or sitting next to each other they would ship them for fun and junho actually went on a second date but they don't need to know that and probably some time after they finally starts dating and when junho tells them they were ecstatic bc their "incredible" plan as they called it was working(junho x salesman shipper here🙋)

Bc his plan of being everyones favorite uncle "failed", he tried even harder to become the twins favorite when they're born and it's seems to be working and some time when they're older and can talk, they gave him a nickname which is "uncle ju-jun" and he was so happy that he felt like he just won a world championship

Sometimes when the older kids are going out to have a drink(when they're legal ofc) and accidentally gets too drunk, they would call him to pick them up and told him to swear on not telling their parents(inhun were out on vacation or something)

His first reaction when he was told that inhun are having another child was "AGAIN?!?" Bc he knows that means he have more presents to bought on Christmas, in which the next Christmas after the announcement he gave inhun a pack of condoms as their gift and made the kids burst out laughing including gihun meanwhile inho is giving him a death stare(junho's face: 😌😁)

the salesman being inho's personal assistant is so funny jienoaujnjrif i can imagine him using his position to just barge into the house and sit down for breakfast with the rest of the family; inho doesn't know why he isn't scared of getting fired but that man doesn't even blink when inho threatens him with unemployment, especially after he flirts with gihun or starts dating junho

in this particular au, i had initially put inho down as a senior detective because i wanted to include silly shenanigans with junho at work. and maybe they have money because his old uncle (oh ilnam) on his mother's side left inho an absurd ammount of money (4.56 billion wons to be exact 😉).

maybe if inho is like the chief or whatever he can have the salesman as his personal assistant still! that way both of our ideas work 💖

oh, the kids would def try to play matchmaker with junho! they have a list of potential future uncles/aunts ranked by how likely they are to survive the hwang inho shovel talk/interrogation.

junho pretends to be upset that his brother is still breeding his wife but he loves his nieces and nephews and when the twins are born he fights with the kids to be able to hold them more.

uncle junjun is so cute 😭💖

the kids call junho when they're too drunk to get home but also to bust them out of the jail because he's a detective and of course he has connections. except one time, when he left them in there overnight so they could learn their lessons (maybe thanos, since he has a period where he acts out).

Ren and Makoto are sitting on a bench, as Ren scarfs down a hot dog. 

"So... I guess this isn't the first time this has happened to you, is it?" Makoto asks.

Ren shakes his head. 

"...You knew me in 2010, didn't you."

Ren nods. 

"...I'm sorry that I died. I... I just wanted to save everyone. I wanted to fix the problem I caused."

"Shut up."

"Huh?"

Ren glares at Makoto. "Shut. Up. It wasn't your fault." 

He sighs. "...I'm sorry for being so weak. That I couldn't save you."

"...How? How could you have saved me?"

"I could've..." Ren stops. "...Nevermind. I guess we would've just traded places. And it would be the same problem."

The two go silent. 

Makoto speaks up after a moment. "Is... is everyone okay? Are they... safe? I... I miss them a lot."

"Oh! Yeah! They're doing great! Uh. Yuka's Featherman Pink now. Junjun's married and a baseball coach. Ken has friends and is living a normal high school life. Mitsuru-senpai's still in charge of the Kirijo group and they help out other Persona Users. Everyone's doing stuff like that."

Makoto smiles slightly, before looking a little heartbroken.

Ren's voice gets softer. "...They haven't forgotten you. We still all go to your grave. It's just that... we figured you'd want us to move on. To live our lives to the fullest."

Ren's face scrunches up, and he starts to cry again. "Except—Except for me. I—I don't—don't know why I can't! I can't let go! Its been five fucking years! And I know I'm a stranger to you and I really should stop doing this—"

He breaks down into incomprehensible sobs. 

Makoto looks around awkwardly. Then he reaches his hand out in front of him. A crackle of blue electricity forms in his hand. "Hey, check it out."

"I—I'm in the house like carpet...?"

The crackle stops as Makoto looks at Ren, dumbfounded. "What?"

"Sorry."

Makoto stares incredulously. "Did. Did that make you feel better????"

"I. I don't know????" Ren laughs.]

maya has never had blue hawaiian flavor bc her parents wouldnt let her. have the flavor. specifically. i guess they didn't want their lil starlet running around with a blue tongue????

anyway Apparently blue hawaiian, strawberry, and melon flavors are all more or less the same. and maya is Devastated.

Harvest Tomatoes

Following up yesterday's Little Farmer Jun is the fruit of the harvest!

We continue on with the (many) figs that were inspired by Gong Jun's November 2022 Cosmopolitan Magazine shoot. There's a ton of them.

Outstanding! But, we're not here to talk about A+ purchasing decisions, we're here to talk about this little man:

This sweet little guy, wheelbarrowing his way across the Pacific to me. Safe and sound in his little polystyrene cocoon.

Like a number of figs in this series, there was absolutely no way this fig was going to stand up on its own. In this case, on the cart. It was too heavy towards the back and toppled right over when I tried it. Usually I can at least take a header pic if I prop the fig up against my backsplash there, but for this one I just immediately put it on a fig stand. It was just too unstable. I wasn't going to take any chances on the cart breaking!

I put a tiny bit of glue on the wheel and each of the ... uh ... wheelbarrow... stands? What are those called? Anyway, I glued that cart down, it's not going anywhere.

You can see we would have needed much wider, uh, stands in order for the cart to hold up the weight of that big ol' head.

Speaking of big ol' heads, I find Junjun's little khaki hat here adorable. It's like, fascinator size! Not to scale in the slightest, but ever so cute for it.

Look at all those beautiful tomatoes! I know people were incredulous at Junjun biting into a tomato for the photo shoot, but let me tell you. When I was a kid, I used to work at a local farmer's market on the weekends selling flowers with my uncle, and I would wander around the market when we had slow times. A great farm fresh tomato really is like nothing else - a glorious burst of flavor and juicy texture that literally tastes like summer. So you go on with that tomato, Junjun!

Tomato solidarity aside, I love how packed this cart is, it makes for a great visual presentation.

Junjun covered in tomatoes wasn't where I saw this mag shoot going, but like I said in yesterday's post, I don't even question this sort of stuff anymore. There's no denying the harmony of the red tomatoes with the cart and the contrast with his clothing is a great pop of color.

I really love how the fig maker designed the 3-D nature of his open shirt. This must have been a difficult fig to engineer, just given all the details here. His hair also looks fantastic - they really got those curving bangs that look so great in the photo shoot.

Speaking of details, here's a close up of all those tomatoes that wonderfully 3-D shirt. You can actually see the modeling on his abs there too! No detail spared for sure.

More detail of the other side of the cart. There is a LOT of tomatoes in that cart. Pour one out for the overworked and probably underpaid photographer assistants that have to set up these fashion shoots. What a perk though. I'd artfully place tomatoes around Gong Jun for free, no problem.

Here's a good view of how well this wheelbarrow was modeled. It may not stand up on its own, but it looks fantastic.

And the other side. I like the blue soles on his Hogan boots a whole lot.

The boots are all we really see (and yet more tomatoes) from this angle!

No box art or box cards for the figs in this series unfortunately.

There will be more figs in this series to come, and more figs outside of this series too. Literally every single photo in this shoot was turned into a fig by some enterprising fig maker! I'd call that a successful photo shoot for sure.

Love in the Lunar Cycle

Everything was fine. Famous words for any one person to utter before some kind of tragedy. Well perhaps a tragedy is a bit of an exaggeration for what is going on in Luella’s life at this time. Her and her best friend were getting ready for the annual ball that they, as newly eligible wolfs, were now expected to attend. Most of her turmoil was because although she was excited to attend she had no desire to meet her supposed mate.

She hears her friend Jun sigh softly beside her as they get all dolled up for the ball her dark forest green eyes looking at herself in the mirror skeptically.

“I know we don’t have a choice but I wish we could skip this.” Jun’s soft voice brakes the comfortable silence they had as they got ready before turning her viridian hues towards Luella.

“I know, but think about who’s all gonna be there. You’ll get to meet other Omegas then you won’t be stuck hanging around this scary Alpha.” Luella grins teasing her friend slightly wanting to cheer up the smaller girl.

In the reflection of the mirror she can see Jun give a small smile before rolling her eyes and continue getting ready.

“Scary Alpha, my butt.” Jun mutters, flipping her long brown hair before it once again curves to frame her soft round face. “Only time you’re scary is when someone tries to steal your food or touch me in front of you”

“I’m a growing girl of course I get protective over what’s mine. Come on now Junjun we got a ball to get to and new friends to make.” Luella smiles brightly turning on the balls of her feet doing a dramatic twirl before walking out the door.

It’s loud; that is made obvious before they even walk into the building holding the ball. Jun is looking around nervously as she walks closely behind Luella, her fingers pinching part of Luella’s thin coat much like she did when they were children. Feeling the soft tug on her clothes Luella can’t help but feel a sense of warmth filling her chest knowing her friend still feels safe clinging to her and her alone. Slowly Luella reaches back and laces there fingers together, giving Juns hand a reassuring squeeze as they walk into the building.

The building itself was beautiful. Tall pillars that reach the high vaulted ceilings arch, forming almost a cathedral. The decor was simple, nothing too elaborate or distracting. They walked through the halls before reaching the ball room where a large chandelier hung from the ceiling, illuminating the room with what seemed to be hundreds, if not thousands, of candles.

“It’s gorgeous” Jun whispers. Luella was only able to hear her over the music by being so close to her side.

“It is.” Luella agrees before turning her honey topaz eyes to Jun and smiling. “And you wanted to miss this.” She teases moving closer to her friends ear making sure she was heard clearly.

“Oh hush.” Jun huffs pushing Luella’s face away pretending to get irritated but Luella could see the corners of her friends lips turned up in a hardly hidden smile at her antics.

Luella grins cheekily before smelling something that makes her mouth water. She starts dragging Jun with her as she follows her nose to a buffet table. Juns eyes rolled as soon as it came into their line of sight. Of course Luella’s nose would take her to food instead of her possible mate. Jun wouldn’t be even slightly surprised if Luella’s mate WAS food. However, that would seem too good to true that Luella would not find her mate and just stay with Jun. If she was honest with herself that’s what Jun wanted but she also wanted Luella to be happy.

“Junbug you should try this avocado stuff. It’s so gooood!” Luella moans, moving a chip with some kind of avocado salad stuff on it close to Juns mouth offering a bite. Jun looks at it skeptically as if inspecting it for anything she wouldn’t like in it. “Junjun you know I wouldn’t offer something if I thought you wouldn’t like it. Come on, I know what you like by now.” Luella says in an alluring tone moving the chip side to side trying to entice Jun into taking the bite.

“Actually it’s about fifty fifty on if you are giving me something good or something you know I would hate just to see my reaction.” Jun sighs, looking unmoved by Luella’s attempts to get her to eat the chip.

“Please. I promise it’s good.” She tries again, giving Jun puppy dog eyes that she knows are her weakness. “Please.” She adds once more, a slight whine to her tone.

“Dammit, fine!” Jun groans exasperated, moving to take the chip from Luella only for her to pull it back and grin wickedly.

“Bite.” She says. Her honey eyes almost glowing amber in her delight. Jun smiles and leans forward eating the chip between her fingers careful to not get her hand. Jun looks at Luella and hums in satisfaction tasting the guacamole salad chip dip thing.

“It’s good” She says, smiling. Luella grins back, showing off her white teeth, before taking another bite.

“Told you. I’m gonna go get us something to drink; any requests before I go?” Luella asks curiously.

“Hmm . . . Strawberry Lemonade? If they have it.” Jun says. A small smile graces her lips before she sits down at the closest chair, which happens to be only a few steps away at another table.

“Okay. I’ll be back Junbug, don’t have too much fun without me.” Luella says with a wink, knowing Jun is to much of a wallflower too actually leave that spot till she came back.

Luella leaves and not long after Jun feels eyes on her. She sinks in her chair a bit wanting to hide as her eyes sweep the crowd, tentatively looking for whomever is making her currently feel like prey. After a bit her emerald eyes meet clear sapphire orbs. Juns body tenses as she looks back at the stranger staring at her. It was a woman with long midnight black hair, her dress doing a wonderful job of showing her long, gorgeous legs. . . She was stunning. Feeling flustered and nervous with Luella gone Jun looks down at the table as she sees the woman starting to approach her. The clicking of her heels sound much louder in Jun’s sensitive ears the closer the she gets.

“Hello, My name is Victoria. May I ask your name, darling?” Victoria asks, with a voice as smooth as velvet. She slowly moves to sit across from Jun, propping her elbow on the table to rest her chin on the back of her hand.

“Juniper. . . It’s nice to meet you” Jun’s soft voice comes out a bit shaky as her hands fiddle with the hem of her dress.

“The pleasure is all mine. Would you care for a dance?” Victoria smiles, a strong scent of peppermint and pine hitting Juns nose.

“I-… no thank you. I have two left feet when it comes to dancing.” She says feeling herself getting more anxious. Her eyes darted in the direction Luella went hoping she’ll come back soon.

“I don’t mind. I’ve been told I’m a rather good teacher. If you would like I could show you a few things.” Victoria’s voice comes out as a purr. She moves her free hand across the table, slowly trailing it up Jun’s arm. Jun quickly moves her arm away eyes now fully focused on Victoria.

“Please don’t touch me.” She says. Her voice is trembling a bit and barely over a whisper. She can feel her skin start to prickle before the soothing scent of fresh rain and floral waterlilies makes its way into her nose. The familiar scent made her relax just a bit and soon after she felt Luella’s gentle hand on her shoulder. Luella starts rubbing small circles onto her skin in a calming way causing Jun to lean into her touch as she stares Victoria down.

“Is there a problem here?” Her voice is sharp and straight to the point, her hackles standing on edge. Victoria looks up at her and slowly backs off.

“My apologies. I didn’t realize you already had a mate, little one.” She says, her eyes glancing at Jun before going back to Luella. “You have a lovely mate and a lovely night.” She smiles and calmly takes her leave. Luella stood stiff as a board, her mind racing with what was just revealed to her before looking down at Jun.

“Huh?”

“Wait you mean you didn’t know!?” The surprised tone of her wolf in her subconscious doing very little to snap her out of the confusing thoughts running wild in her head.

“What do you mean ‘wait you didn’t know’? Of course I didn’t know! How did you know before me? Why didn’t you tell me!?” Luella thought through the mental link to her wolf. Jun sitting in silence but the look on her face suggests she is having the same mental conversation with her wolf.

“I thought it was obvious!” Luella’s wolf’s voice almost booms in her head defensively.

“Clearly fucking NOT!” Luella was now blushing a deep red, her hand still on Jun’s shoulder. Luella looks down only able to see a small bit of Jun’s face she leans down, her hand tucking a bit of her brown hair behind her ear so she can see Jun’s face better.

“Hey Jun?” She asks, wanting to get her attention before saying anything else. Jun didn’t respond. Luella’s eyes widen slightly noting a small blush slowly spreading across her cheeks.

“Ah young mates. Remember that?” They hear an older woman not so quietly whisper to her husband, making them blush more. Not wanting any more attention Luella grabs Jun’s hand and drags her outside away from prying eyes and eavesdropping ears. She finds a secluded garden and sits Jun down on a bench.

Luella kneels in front of Jun, her friend… her mate. She slowly lifts her hand to caress Jun’s cheek, her voice soft as she looks at Jun.

“Jun. . . Are you okay?” Her voice is shaky, as if trying to fight something back.

“Fine. Just… I’m your mate.” Jun says. It’s not a question but it doesn’t quite feel like she believes it. “Your mate.” She repeats her green eyes look up locking onto Luella’s topaz irises. Slowly Luella nods her head not braking eye contact.

“Yes… and I’m your mate.” She speaks slowly, trying hard not to naw at her bottom lip. “Is that okay?” She asks unsure, her heart beating a mile a second as she continues to stare at her mate under the full moonlight.

“Okay? Is being my mate okay?” Jun asks slowly before her hands clap over Luella’s cheeks squishing them together. “It’s perfect!” She practically shouts, her eyes wandering all over Luella’s face. Luella can’t help but smile at her words before she starts tearing up. She pulls their faces closer together so their foreheads are resting against one another.

“Perfect… you are so perfect Jun” Luella says with a shaky breaths, feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the emotions.

“So are you.” She whispers breathily.

“Luella?” She asks, getting her attention. Luella can only let out a weak hum in reply, her eyes closing with their heads still resting against each-other.

“May I kiss you?”

The request almost made Luella’s heart stop before beating so fast she thought it might beat out of her chest and she nods. Opening her topaz eyes she leans in, once again pushing a strand of Jun’s hair back behind her ear.

“Of course my love… anything you want.” Luella whispers. Jun leans in and so does she, meeting her halfway as their lips connect. It’s soft and sweet, their lips fitting together like the perfect puzzle pieces.

Yuuta: —There we go, this works.

Hmm~… I’m still not used to seeing myself like this. I’ve only just grown my hair out, but it’s like I’m a whole different person.

I’m just tying it up now, but I hope I’ll be able to play with it more in the future.

I wonder if I’ll ever be able to do that…?

(…Wait, I don’t have time to be talking to a mirror right now. I need to think about Chocolat Fes…)

The illustrations on the packaging and container are so elaborate and cute. They might make good inspiration for costume and stage design.

Yuuta: …… (ignoring)

Rinne: Lookin’ at it, it’s even startin’ to reach your shoulders! Seriously, when did it grow long enough to be tied up?

Yuuta: …… (ignoring desperately)

Rinne: Hey, how’dja tie it up like that? Do ya just make a ring with some of your hair?

ITS SO GOOD!!!!! i watched it w my friendo n its so fun seeing her clock all the kpop stuff as shes a big big fan

a really fun and BEAUTIFUl watch that shows how sony continues to dominate the animation industry nowadays in terms of quality >:D and the music is honestly fucking fire, especially if you've listened to kpop before bc it's almost uncanny how well they did the soundtrack on this bad boy >:3

just one main note to get the brainrot out :3

the movies amazing and verrrry enjoyable, but there are a few patches here and there :3

particularly bc of the subtle underdevelopment of characters other than rumi.

it rly felt like mira n zoey got pushed to being static characters in favor of highlighting the developing relationship between rumi and... juni i think err i forgor :3 for example they never rly did give a reason as to why the girls wanted to attack rumi after they found out abt her whole deal

it wouldve been an amazing showcase of their individuality if for example, n im just throwing the ball around but,, mari raising her weapon mostly due to her betrayal and half bc of her instinct. it wouldve made sense that as the lead dancer she wouldve been trained to be more physical and thus fighting is more “auto-pilot”-y. makes sense? (also i would've appreciated a mari dance break bc her being the choreographer never got to shine as much as rumi being lead vocals and zoey being a rapper+composer 👉👈 or again, just highlight that she's a better fighter than the rest of the girlie pops)

and speaking of zoey, she should never have immediately accepted fighting rumi what the heyhey? her loyalty was highlighted at the very beginning! she should've been the placating voice between them as mari struggles to see past the initial betrayal. a betrayal not just bc of the secret but mostly bc of how *she'd* specifically confronted rumi and asked her if she had anything she was hiding, only for rumi to lie to her point blank. zoey shouldve been terrified, yes, but still willing to protect rumi.

...until rumi is triggered into doing her powers and zoey also raises her weapons atp. the trigger couldve been the aforementioned argument w rumi getting heated still defending demons and junjun

bc honestly just the split second of the two rejecting her wouldve been more than enough for her to make her run. to which the two girls would immediately regret it after seeing rumi /hurt/ for godsakes that's their friend!! this makes mira get frustrated and yells that she always does this to the ppl she loves (referring to her family problems). and when zoey tries to console her ofc w overcompensated happiness, mira snaps at *her* for being a little too much (ofc something more subtle duh) and you see zoey take that comment closer to heart for a quick second

doing this honestly wouldve showed that yeah the two girls are also still relevant enough to give them the spotlight for a few minutes, even if its a story abt rumi. bc it shows a dynamic only they have. and thats the key to writing good character dynamics!! pair them up n watch them interact in ways unique to them.

it wouldve also planted the seed on why the girls succumb to shame later in the film when they were supposed to be better than stronger than ppl as hunters. their weak spot was hurting rumi. bc if you think about it, they never seem to regret hurting rumi later in the film? and rumi never apologizes for keeping them in the dark? i mean that probably happens off-screen but... y is it off-screen :'))

a few more underdeveloped characters and why: :)

juni: never rlyyy elucidated on why he cant share his success to his family. and on that note never rly reconciled with that specific guilt. his whole character motivation was he wanted to be free of the memory that causes the guilt that pains him,, not to repent for it. n while that's cool in the first-half bc he's still in selfish villain mode, it never seemed to resolve. it's also weird that he switched up so fast after meeting rumi. was he really wanting to help her? he shouldve been eager to manipulate her and then let her soften his resolve, rather than the instant empathy he seemed so burdened with BUT THEN WHY ISNT HIS FAMILY ALLOWED TO BE W HIM. also lolol you know he's quadruple fucked after the film i refuse to believe he perished. demons dont perish wahahah that guy is now satan's favorite chewtoy and y'all know he wont play nice.

celene: her mother-daughter bond with rumi is never resolved lol. yeahh so does rumi just hate her now? why is she so disgusted with her demonic blood. was the demon father... not a good guy? :')) her character seemed rly stale at the end by both trying to be the loving stepmother and strict hunter,, like girl u cant have both and be effective. she shouldve had a scene where she realizes the hurt rumi's repression was causing her.... or maybe she couldve if she could just face her daughter!!!! gods that stings bc now u sound like a manipulative hypocrite. which is okay but did the movie intend for her to be like that? also i wonder what happened to their third member :3c

the manager guy: he has this one confusing scene where it makes you think he was gonna turn to the demon boys bc the girls kept leaving him? like? his scene of succumbing to the demon call wouldve been more impactful if he never had that scene! if it instead showed that yes he like the saja boys but he's committed to the girls. so when rumi finally sings golden, it wouldve made it more meaningful to him. and when he does succumb to his shame, it's all the more powerful bc of how he's still caring for the girls.

the fucking doctor 😭???: im sorry but... so he's NOT mystical magical? he's just rly good at reading ppl then? BRO DID ZOEY JUST LITERALLY BRING THEM TO A SCAMMER THASSO FUNNY IF YOU THINK ABT IT? (⁠-̩̩̩⁠-̩̩̩⁠-̩̩̩⁠-̩̩̩⁠-̩̩̩⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠-̩̩̩⁠-̩̩̩⁠-̩̩̩⁠-̩̩̩⁠-̩̩̩⁠)

thoooo when u realize the problems of the movie, u also realize the the doctor is the exact problem with the the execution of their story-telling! :3 bc the doctor isnt there for plot reasons. no,, he was there to tell, not show, abt the characters issues :DD

still super frickin wonderful though and i appreciate them taking inspiration from different sorts of kpop genres! not just the mainstream ones rn

also i cant blame them for the structure of the movie being romanced based :3 you can also see it source a few inspos from kdramas ^^ overall a serious homage to korean media and the likes! :DD

KPop Demon Hunters comes out tomorrow on Netflix! I worked as a visdev artist on this film back in 2023 and it was a blast. Get ready for some high-energy fun with a killer soundtrack! Hope everyone enjoys the movie!!

Little Farmer Jun

If I went back in time and told myself 5 years ago that one day I'd be writing a blog post about a collectible figure (that not only did I own but had in fact avidly collected) of a mainland Chinese actor dressed as a high-fashion sexy exterminator in a enormous fluffy yellow hat, I would have been very concerned. I would have 1) thought future Lelanthe had lost her ever-loving mind, 2) wondered how exactly was it that someone who had lost every single marble could even have dreamed up a chain of events leading up to that particular scenario?

Truth is stranger than fiction, my figthusiast friends.

The inspiration for this fig, and many others, all of which you will be seeing in the future, is Gong Jun's frankly rather incredible November 2022 Cosmopolitan Magazine photo shoot:

Yes, I own this mag, and I regret nothing. NOTHING, I SAY!

In order to fully appreciate this mag, I think you need a behind-the-scenes video. Here you go, my friends who have gone down this very unique life path with me...

The inspiration for this particular fig is of course this:

What in the name of all that is holy was someone thinking when they put this outfit together, I just don't know. This mag shoot was the one that that got me to the point that I don't even question this stuff anymore. I mean, look at him. The outfit is ridiculous but his face is stunning as always, his legs look a million miles long, his arms look strong, and his shoulders are broad enough to carry this look off.

The fig maker called this fig a farmer, but let's be real - it's an exterminator. Yes, I suppose farmers can have spray packs too, for exterminating pests! May I just say that I get my house sprayed on the regular for pest control, and never ONCE has any exterminator looked even vaguely like this. Disappointing. Tragic, really.

Here he arrived on my doorstep, swaddled up protectively in his polystyrene case, with his little spray wand accompanying him.

My heart does sink a little bit each time I see an accessory with a fig. The question of will-it-won't-it fit is always a pertinent one when you're as clumsy as I am. You can see his little curled right hand there that is meant to hold the handle like in the picture.

Luckily, the handle fit well into his hand - I kind of had to push it a bit harder than I'd like to get it to stay, but once it was there it was (relatively) secure.

This little man wasn't standing on his own for anything. You'll see why a little more clearly as we rotate around the figure, but basically he's unbalanced because of all his equipment on his back, along with this gigantic hat.

Speaking of the hat, it's pretty amazing. Not only do we have this great knit texture on the hat itself, we have flocking on the ear muffs! Amazing.

All my figs get a soapy water bath to clean them when they arrive (I've seen some factory production pictures!). Unfortunately, I was going on autopilot with this last shipment of figs, and I accidentally dunked this little guy in the soapy bath. I immediately yelped and grabbed him right back out. I hated to soak him even more by rinsing him off, but at that point there was nothing to be done, other than cursing my own name. I was worried I had damaged the flocking, but he seems to have dried up just fine!

No harm done. There's a few different figs with flocking in production right now, so just as well I learned from this one!

There is a TON of detail on this fig. Kind of amazing looking at it - there is a lot going on. Credit to Junjun again that he was wearing this outfit in the pics vs. it wearing him. The factory work is remarkably clean too, nice and sharp paint lines.

You can see there that he is holding the little spray handle just fine. I was not a fan of this outfit in the magazine, but I kind of love this fig.

He's so cute. When visitors come over and look at my fig displays, I can promise you this is one they will definitely ask about!

This is a good shot of his hand holding the sprayer. Actually a great shot of both of his hands.

It's really interesting to me that there's a little hole here in his spray backpack. I wonder if there was originally plans to put the spray tube in? There's the full tubing in the magazine pic, and you can see it in the video, so I wonder.

Look at all that detail in the knit hat. Incredible!
