i desperately wish gw2 had more food-centric lore. i think about asura food more than is probably particularly reasonable. they're sort of implied to like molecular gastronomy in the lvl500 chef quests which is fitting and makes sense, but surely not every asura is eating bespoke Pea Spheres day in and day out right? i think my favorite angle on them is a sort of 50s-80s american-esque food style where there's a huge emphasis on things being Convenient and Scientific, so you'd get a lot of absolute slop tv dinners and canned items that have labels boasting how they were nutritionally fortified and contained your day's complete vitamin intakes and so on. a lot of jellied things. i do also fully believe they would have + eat soylent.

I have to confess I'm an Act 3 Enjoyer and I actually think it's the most fun part of bg3 despite the jank and lack of reactivity in some areas. it has some of the most fun combat encounters and I like having a fully rounded out build + exploring the city

#tho i really love act 1 and 2 as well #i have to say replaying act 1 a bunch just feels slow as hell in the early game

been thinking a lot about deltarune thematics and how the boss monsters of each world are sort of exploring different ways that adults interact with kids and how that shapes kids..like the kings outright cruelty to lancer, queen and tenna being well intentioned and wanting the best for noelle and kris respectively even though they’re still largely acting in their own self interest, gerson’s genuine care for susie and the investment he places in her education…not to mention the really broad spectrum of adults and how they treat kids in the light world too! i think we might be going somewhere with this. and it’s in the bones of ut too in a real way so im just considering it

If you played Baldur's Gate 3 and like the combat and turn based role playing games, I implore you, I BEG YOU to give Divinity Original Sin 2 a shot.

Combat is better, more flexible, and more engaging while still being challenging. The writing is wonderful and charming with excellent world building. The companions are all endearing and will win you over by the end of the tutorial. The music and art style are amazing. While it's bit older and doesn't have animated cutscenes, everything is narrated and you genuinely don't miss the animation when the writing is that good and descriptive.

Also you can play as a human or a dwarf or an elf that eats people! Or a lizard! Or a skeleton! Or a lizard skeleton! And then romance another skeleton!

The possibilities are multitudinous and the game is one of the best turn based rpgs in the modern era. If you like bg3, I'm certain you'll find something to like about dos2. I guarantee it.

I can’t explain it but I was legitimately so nervous to watch the first episode of The Last of Us tonight and then I did and I cried at multiple points that I think “normal” people probably wouldn’t have. And it’s just all so crazy, like I only played the first game bc I was gifted a used PS4 and I knew Pedro was going to star and that was like 4 years ago and the game has actually changed my life. I’ve played both parts through multiple times and the story means so much to me in ways I can’t fully articulate. I’ve now upgraded to a PS5 and played so many other amazing games and it’s unlocked a world I didn’t really know existed for myself and I’m just kinda thankful and sentimental and anyways I will fight anyone with anything negative to say because Ellie is my babygirl and Joel is also my babygirl and Abby is not my babygirl but something else I’d run through a wall to protect and just lets all just sit back and enjoy.
