Re N/M: The harshness complaints to me are a bit over exaggerated and just Reddit looking for a reason to be mad about something. The junior worlds lift you posted was only used that one time for that dance. At all other comps it was a slide and it looks in that lift he was trying to get her on her foot. I chalk that up to debuting a new element and just not getting it quite right. This year they use it and put her on her knee to avoid that same issue from JWC. Yesterday seemed a little more laborious overall for sure but the StaLi and ChorLi both looked fine at the other comps. I do hope they get a new choreographer next year though for a fresh perspective.
idk about reddit. but it was noticeable in the WASA teams this summer that there's a daring vibe that's different from other schools. and i don't remember thinking that when i saw N/M in 2023 at the same competition. i don't think Artem is a careless or uncaring partner, they couldn't be as good as they are if he was. but there are these moments that stand out with them because it looks a little rougher than the norm. i think Jean-Luc made an offhand comment about it in one of the practices, too

Some thoughts about the Korean JGP selection
Jia Shin's skating skills are superior to a lot of the current senior women's field. Her SP is stunning and the edge work in an out of her 2A is gonna be a treat to watch during comps. That said her FS looks like sludge which isn't her fault but it's frustrating that her coaches can't really give her the packaging she deserves. If Mao's FS is any bit as good as last season's was I see Jia keeping her silver streak.
Minsol Kwon looks like the solid Korean junior n2. The commitment is there. Her programs showcase her well.
Yujae Kim yet again bombs the selections and gets only one assignment at JGP despite finishing 4th at JWC 2023. Had she not tried (and missed) the 3A she probably would have placed higher. Her skating gives me strong Eteri vibes which makes me a bit worried about her coach.
Seojin Yoon has atrocious music choices, namely Never Enough, and the Pearl Harbor OST.
Minkyu Seo has two cracking programs, choreographed by THE Patrick Chan and is looking really good but I've enjoyed Hyungyeom Kim more despite the music choices (Music by John Miles, bleh Requiem for a Dream please no).

Kao Miura is the first Japanese man to win Junior Worlds since Shoma back in 2015!
Before Shoma it was Yuzu back in 2010!
Kao has some very big shoes to step in...
Congratulations to Kao! 🥳
Tbh it would have shocked me if he wouldn't have won...

Reigning Four Continents Champion Kao Miura of Japan dominated to win gold at Junior Worlds by over forty-four points.
Naoki Rossi of Switzerland came up from third to win the silver - the first medal for his country in any discipline since 2000, and first in this discipline since 1977. It’s also the highest finish for any Swiss skater in history.
Nozomu Yoshioka made it two Japanese on the podium, coming up from seventh to win the bronze.

Arlet Levandi really decided that his entire career as a skater would be skating to Stromae's full discography and I respect that
