it is a time of merriment, but that’s not all...
ooc information
welcome to our opening event!
lasts a week from monday.
since this event is over american thanksgiving, it’s more lowkey than some events might be.
feel free to invent things happening during the festival and create your own spicy plot points.
a plot drop will come at then end of the event.

plot drop: 01
the festival of the flame was celebrated in all of its glory. citizens of the free city new and old alike basked in the warmth of the eternal flame, but there was something missing from the usual festivities.
charlatans doing their tricks, potion masters selling their tinctures, the less scrupulous of those claiming to be seers were all absent from the festival. while the practice of magic was strictly controlled in the past, at the conclusion of this year’s festival, the council of the high priest carried out his justice, and with that came new ordinances.
                  all magic is now banned.
those seen or suspected of doing magic will face the church, and you might not like what they have in store...
what does this mean for your characters?
if they’re seen doing magic in public, they could be turned into the church
everyone has allies, however, and the docks are a safer place to practice magic than most
many will be angry due to this declaration, and rebellion is brewing. athelonious themselves may not even be safe.
will your character push back against the church, or support them? both would make for interesting interactions!
