anyone have any puzzle recs
or alternatively whats ur favourite puzzle type if you have one
for me when it comes to apps I love nonograms the most but I also like minesweeper. Then when it comes to paper (or apps still) I like logic grid puzzles, kenken, sudoku, word/number fill ins, & kakuro off the top of my head.
sometimes I encounter a new puzzle and I’m like !!!! I love this how did I never know about this before !!! so I am reaching out to expand my puzzle list and also just want to hear what anyone reading this likes
#one puzzle I can never do? crosswords. I don’t have the brain for them.#i really want to get a book of those logic grid puzzles i haven’t found one yet#i mean i could probably find one online#but i tend to grab cheap ones from the magazine shelf lol#and those logic grid puzzles I’ve only found interspersed amongst books of other puzzles#ive got a book just for word fill ins. two or three of sudoku. one that’s like a third ken ken#ive got a word find book somewhere not mentioned here but a love as a kid#also still fun now#i dont have anything with kakuro i think I find those in newspapers#i also really want to see if they do nonograms on paper not just in apps. that would be fun#anyway pls share ur interests i love puzzles#i spend too much time doing them lmao#oh also if anyone is interested in the idea of nonograms but you wouldn’t just do them alone#can i recommend the app meow tower#you’ve got really simple nonograms and also cute cats with personalities you interact with!#there’s also slightly harder monograms I think it’s 15 by 15 but they become easy too the more you do :)#eeeee anyway. puzzles!#i need more puzzle books. it’s not negotiable. they’re a must. I adore it when I get new ones to spend hours on

🧮 Mathematics Class:
- 🧮➕➖🟰 Find some counting bears/other animals, counting blocks, or even an abacus to practice adding and subtracting. For extra fun, use m&ms, skittles, or any type of candy you like that is small and countable.
- 🔢 Use the counting bears/blocks to practice counting by different numbers, like 2s, 5s, and 10s or, if you already know those ones by heart, 3s, 7s, 9s, etc.
- 🧮✖️ Learn how to use an abacus for multiplication
- 📖 Math workbooks for your age group. Also I’m sure you can find worksheets online, like those worksheets full of addition and subtraction problems.
- ✖️➗ Learn a multiplication or division table that you’ve always struggled with.
- 🧩 Play math related logic games/puzzles like sudoku, kakuro, futoshiki, cross sums, or Os and Xs. They make easier ones for kids to learn how to play them. I find some of games like these in Highlights magazine and others online/in different apps.
- ♟️ Play math related board games like Mancala, Yahtzee, Qwirkle, Vault, and Chess. You can play games like this online as well as in real life.
- 🃏 Play math related card games like garbage, math war, make 10, and clock solitaire. These also can be played online, or you can get decks of cards from the dollar store.
- 🎲 Roll a die 10 times, then arrange the numbers you get from smallest to largest. Add the numbers together and see how close to 60 the number is! If you can, name the number that is the minimum and the number that is the maximum.
- 🎲 If you’re in an older age range, roll a die 10 times and arrange the numbers from smallest to largest. Then find the mean (average), median (middle number), mode (most repeated number), and range (how far is the biggest from the smallest) of the numbers.
- 💻 Play math games online!
- ⏰ Make a clock out of paper or cardboard and pin the middle to a cork board so you can spin the clock hands. Learn how to tell time with it!

get to know your tumblr mutuals <3
i was tagged by @honeydewtual, thank you so much!!!
and i'll tag @demainest @faceglitchsworld @jongside @rlvaille @hoforwonho @fairyjiu @mizugucci, but no pressure ^^
what's the origin of your username?
no specific origin i'm just very bad at coming up with usernames and this is what my brain spit out and i've stuck with lol. i think i didn't wanna have a kpop specific username for some reason also so
otp(s) + ship name
i've actually never enjoyed shipping or focusing Too much on any sort of pairing tbh. i like looking at dynamics between characters but i've always preferred liking characters on their lonesome rather than in relation to another one. if that makes sense
song stuck in my head
currently it's bebe by stayc & hatchling by seoho! i have both in a mini playlist i'm looping right now
weirdest habit/trait
i feel like anything related to being too sensory seeking honestly lol. i love a lot of bad smells including ones that "bad smell enjoyers" don't enjoy (rotting food, skunk, sewage, etc) and can't get enough of odd/painful textures or experiences 🙂↕️
hobbies
mostly just gifmaking and various puzzles rn 😅 but i do like cross stitching every now and then. my favorite puzzles right now are kakuro, nonograms, and minesweeper ^^
if you work, what's your profession?
merchandiser/reset team!! i work in a lot of different stores whenever they're changing layouts around i go in and do those, whether that's moving sections or just rearranging specific sections, installing new fixtures, etc etc. i'm sometimes called in to help with new store setup as well
if you could have any job you wish, what would you have?
honestly my dream job rn would be Just to stock at a grocery store, no other tasks lol. but i also wouldn't mind diesel mechanic (!!!!!), mortician or phlebotomist!
something you're good at
funny enough despite the disabilities i've always been very good at and enjoy physical labour such as actually building Buildings, in depth car mechanics, etc. it's very fun for me when i'm actually able to :'•)
something you hate
hate a lot of little things for rational and irrational reasons but most recently my hatred of turtlenecks has risen again. worst feeling article of clothing ever (<- hates anything touching my neck)
something you forget
sooooo much lol i have semi severe memory issues actually </3
your love language
receiving is physical touch but giving is acts of service/gift giving ^^
favorite movies/tv shows
i actually don't watch movies or shows like....... ever lol but i do really really enjoy the original hellraiser!
what were you like as a child
from what i remember i think i was both severely shy and shut-in & too overwhelming and boisterous at the same time lol
favorite subject in school
medical terminology!
least favorite subject in school
chemistry specifically (liked all other science classes)
what's your best/worst character trait
best: i try my best to be very kind
worst: weirdly high strung and operate on a mysterious set of extremely specific and outlandish rules and find it extremely hard to know people beyond surface level interactions because of it. lol
if you could change any detail of your life rn, what would it be?
BETTER PAYCHECK !
if you could travel in time, who would you want to meet?
not applicable because i'd either go to the future (don't know who exists there) or so so far back in time (wanna see a pterodactyl)
#omg invitation to actually appear like an actual being behind this account yayyy. i sometimes worry i just don't mention anything#ever and then no one knows i actually Exist 😭#tag game

Hello. I found you because of your twitter. So you're also KnB fan? So excited? Are also a shipper? Who are your fav KnB ships?
Can I ask you BL recs that the couples' dynamics remind you of your fav KnB ships?
Sorry if you're not a shipper...Then who are your top 3 fav KnB characters? And what are your top 5 fav moments from the series?
Hello anon! I was and remain a very big KnB fan. I actually have a number of KnB meta posts on my other blog, perhaps most prominently this one on how Kuroko no Basuke is the most romantic manga I've ever read. It is in fact the only fandom for whom I have a dyed-in-wool honest-to-god would-defend-them-to-the-wedding-altar OTP, and that is Kagami/Kuroko. I am always a sucker for main characters in shounen but Kuroko in particular is a guardian angel to me, one with his own guardian angel (Kagami). I find him endlessly fascinating as a character but I also think of him like a beloved nephew and want him to have a happy ending (married to Kagami and raising multiple dogs). I just love him so, so much.
However, I believe in shipping for fun and for sport, not as religion, the result being that I consume(d) voraciously in the fandom even for things outside of my OTP. I loved MidoTaka and bad boyfriends AoKise, would go to war for the Seirin third year Kiyoshi/Hyuuga/Riko (sorry for the sudden het), and was obsessed with KiKasa (legitimately believe Kasamatsu would take a bullet for Kise before he would kiss him and is that not the ultimate romance). Almost every day I wage a battle with myself whether or not to go back and reread the manga or to finally finish the anime (which I maintain legiimately changes the characterization of some of the characters, specifically Kise).
I can't say that I can think of bl manga with the same dynamics as KaKuro. Though I will say I was reminded recently that before Kizu Natsuki was Gusari, she was Sashikizu, and she wrote a pile of KnB doujinshi. While she settled into her sweet spot with Haikyuu, those who accuse "Given" of owing anything to Haikyuu don't see that the central Ritsuka/Mafuyu (+ Hiiragi) story is actually very Kagami and Kuroko coded, Teikou trauma and Generation of Miracles ex-boyfriends and all. Kizu-sensei wrote "Given" for those of us who thought Ogiwara was dead, I'll just leave it at that. (Is that why I later wrote a KaKuro band AU? Who's to say.)

Æ ( from Ann! )
Send me Æ and my Muse will react to yours falling asleep on them | Selectively Accepting | @sharpsuite
At least he knocks this time. And maybe for it, she grants him permission to enter (though chances are, he would have anyway).
Gojo surprisingly doesn't pry too much into what Ann spends her time doing in the basement. He's got the gist of it, he gets it, wanting the answers — and he certainly wants to know if she finds any — but the sight of it is one he can do without, after walking in uninvited one time to her examining the deceased. It's why he's ready to let his eyes wander just about anywhere else, but whatever she was doing, if anything, she seems to have wrapped up for the night.
"Down here all by yourself tonight?" Alright, bad joke, and in hindsight, makes what he says next probably sound all that much worse. Gojo doesn't stray far from the door when he grins, continuing, "Good! Because I was thinking, if you're not busy, maybe we could go back to my room— or yours! And—"
Gojo likes seeing her without her shades. She has a pretty face. But the look she gives him then, makes him wish they'd been on.
He sputters. "That's, that's not— come on, what kind of guy do you think I am!?" The kind that's been seen getting cozy with multiple women at the Beach, probably. "Look!" He holds up what's been previously hidden by the counter between them: an issue of Nikoli magazine, and one of their crossword collections.
"I just thought we could do some puzzles together! Obviously I don't need help with them, but they've gotta be easier than whatever you're trying to solve down here, right? I'll let you pick what we do!"
He lowers the magazines and his gaze follows them. Gojo's quiet a moment, and blue eyes only look back up at her when he admits, with a weak chuckle: "They're just too much for me tonight, you know?" The partying, the loud music, the uncomfortably bright lights. "But it's up to you. No pressure."
———
They sit side-by-side on the sofa, a book open between them (the crosswords, as chosen by Ann). It's comfortable, to Gojo anyway, as they try to solve the puzzles together, though in his competitive nature suggests they see who can get the most answers. They fly through a couple easier crosswords this way, slowing down only when they jump to a more difficult one and find themselves getting stumped more often.
They've been stuck for a while now, and Gojo's not sure if it's the puzzle itself or the time of night. Ann hasn't said anything in a bit either, and as he notices the pencil slowly slipping from her grip, he feels her weight against his arm. Gingerly catching the pencil from between her fingers before it could fall to the floor, he looks over to find her asleep, head beginning to loll against the back of the sofa.
After a surprised blink, he chuckles to himself. "Seriously going to make me finish this by myself?" But his voice is notably barely above a whisper, as to not wake her. He manages to figure out one more word before giving up, and tosses the book onto the coffee table. "Pretty sure I won, just so you know."
He stopped keeping track ages ago.
Looking at her, she's still asleep, and dangerously close to having her head on his shoulder. "What am I supposed to do now, huh?" He doesn't want to wake her, but can't stay like this the whole night, either. So gently, he sits her upright so he can move and then carefully, so so carefully, scoops her up into his arms. Praying to whatever's out there that she doesn't wake up in the middle of this, he carries her over to the bed, and lays her down.
Gojo's gaze lingers on her sleeping face a moment before he retreats back to the sofa and reclines across it, his too-long legs hanging off the far arm. He grabs the other magazine, but it isn't long before he dozes off himself, falling asleep with an unfinished kakuro puzzle on his chest.
#okay i'm not sure if ann would realistically agree to this but... IDK I THOUGHT IT WAS A CUTE IDEA#i hope you like this omg 😭#way too much set up to get to the actual prompt forgive me lol#sharpsuite#( asks. )#( verse: alice in borderland. )#you: sends in a symbol#me: writes A WHOLE NOVEL I GUESS?

i just started a new puzzle magazine this afternoon of 'suguru' something i hadn't tried before
i'm 25% of the way done with this
i've done almost 40 puzzles this afternoon/evening
would recommend suguru
#it's really easy to pick up!! said as someone who's never done one before today#the only hard part is it's not so obvious if you've made a mistake#like in sudoku you can read the columns down quickly at the end and go yep that's good#but in this one my only method so far is actually checking the answers to make sure i did it right after i'm done#i could probably double check myself but that would take longer i imagine#...admittedly i am working with mild double vision so everything seems a bit harder to see today#i'm not sure if this magazine just doesn't scale#like easy to hard#they're not labelled or anything#but they've been really easy#i've gotten stuck on maybe 2 or 3? but only for a few minutes before i saw the way forward#also i saw nz puzzler does kakuro magazines which i did not know#i am going to keep an eye out for that

I had to look up killer sudoku - looks like sudoku mixed with kenken? Anyhow, if you like that, have you tried kakuro?
I think I've heard the word kenken in relation to killer sudoku but never actually looked it up, and I hadn't heard of kakuro before. tried one of both... kakuro isn't bad, but I like how the killer sudoku gives you so many different angles of approach. having more equation types in the kenken is interesting, but it means a lot of the more advanced killer sudoku strategies wouldn't apply, but i wonder what sorts of advanced kenken strategies are out there... also all these websites have way worse UI than my killer sudoku app, but maybe i'll see if I can find a kenken with UI i like.
