PICTORIAL MOMENTS AND COMMENTS

Sherlock Jr. was also Keaton's most complicated film for special optical effects and in-camera tricks. The film's most famous trick shot involves Keaton jumping into a small suitcase and disappearing. Keaton later said that it was an old vaudeville trick that his father had invented, and he later performed it on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1957, but never publicly revealed how he did it. The trick was accomplished with a trap door behind the suitcase and an actor lying horizontally with long clothes hiding his absent bottom torso, which then allowed the actor to smoothly fall forward and walk as though he had always been standing vertically.

Keaton later told film historian Kevin Brownlow "every cameraman in the business went to see that picture more than once trying to figure out how the hell we did some of that."

Hello! I don't know if it's been asked but what are the RO's clothes look like? Their fashion choices, are they a fashionista or a complete fashion disaster?

Hello! I did some Research!

So to answer your second question first──I'd say that all the ROs were fashionable! However, since it's set during the turn of the decade ('72) some ROs are more fashion forward and knowledgeable than others who like/are sticking to trends from the 60s! (and a couple ROs who don't care for fashion trends and wear what they can buy!)

Side note, finding men's fashion is such a Task! I wish there was more references to style icons than the same 5 men over and over again!

"70s Glam Rock style/70s Rock Chic" 'androgenous style' Flared Trousers, Satins and Velvets, Fitted and Leather Jackets, overly cling cut satin tops and button up shirts that loose their buttons. All the jewellery━rings upon rings and necklaces for everyone. (Nate takes a necklace from every girl he hooks up with, like a conquest trophy.) Platform Boots, or metallic footwear, lots of animal print rather than paisley or floral patterns. Instead of bold and bright colours Nate, like Eva, tends to stick with earthy colour (mainly browns!) But he's not afraid to be flamboyant and wear the bold colours.

When she wears headwear it will always match her dress/top. She also likes the feel of Silk Satin on her skin, she wears silk nightdresses to bed and satin outfits on a night out. She's not the biggest fan of Fur or Robes but she has a few items in her closet to keep with the trends. Eva also loves a full suit moment!

"Leather/70s Casual" Ha! Hahaha! Fashion sense? What their mother bought them──comfortable and practical save for their leather jacket (from their father.) They don't care for fashion and will stand out around fashion forward people (and not in the good way.) However, they never look like a disaster and their outfits always come across as curated and planned (even if they're not) which gives them style points!

Lots of accessories, though José likes to wear the jewellery their siblings and mother maker them. Platform shoes over strappy sandals because they're not the best at balancing. José's sense of style is very wide and they don't care to keep up with trends──they know what they like and they like what they look good in!

(If any MC gives him an accessory, he will wear it always, even if it doesn't go with the rest of the outfit.)

Fauve is The Most fashionable out of all the ROs. She keeps on top of trends while also curating her own personal style. She subconsciously inspires the people she's around on a day to day to dress better. People go to her for style advice! Fauve also love hair accessories like headbands or bandanas, headscarves (and neckscarves!) Or something simple like a thin braided belt tied around the head (calling back to the 60s flower power movement!) Fauve is more a fan of over the knee platform boots but still has an extensive collection of shoes that include Clogs, Platform Sandals, Loafers and more casual shoes like Woven Espadrilles or trainers.

Batgirl footage gives glimpse in how movie may have looked

After the announcement that the DC film ‘Batgirl’ was being shelved, footage from behind the scenes of the production appeared online and gives fans an idea of what may have become had the movie been released.

Fans were stunned after the announcement that the film, Batgirl, would be shelved. Originally planned to be released on HBO Max, the film will not receive a release either on HBO Max or theatrically, causing disappointment among fans who were looking forward to seeing Leslie Grace’s portrayal of the comic book character.

Since the film had already been in production, filmed shots from the feature had already been completed. Some of that footage has made its way online, with the DCEULeaks subreddit originally publishing the clip. As MovieWeb shares, there’s a chase sequence with Batgirl (Leslie Grace) riding on her motorcycle chasing a fire engine that has Firefly (Brendan Fraser), a pyromaniac villain, on top of it.

There are shots of Batgirl jumping on her motorcycle and tumbling over the hood of a police car as she rushes to a scene as well as a brief glimpse of the Caped Crusader himself with Michael Keaton signed on to portray Batman once again.

The raw footage is a fascinating look at what goes on behind the scenes with an action film, from hearing calls to roll the camera to the gasps of people witnessing the controlled quick explosions of fire and the cheers after a scene or certain stunt has been successfully completed.

The project had been a long time coming, with changes happening behind the scenes long before the production was canceled. Joss Whedon, from The Avengers, was hired to be the original writer for Batgirl in 2017, but walked away, “over struggles to come up with a story.”

The film appeared to have backing as Christina Hodson, from another DC outing Birds of Prey, was brought in to write a new screenplay and Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, from Bad Boys for Life, were signed on to direct the feature.

After seeing the behind-the-scenes footage, in just under 12 minutes alone, it is easy to see that a high amount of work was put into the production, with the cast and crew looking to be eager for the film’s release. From going through creative changes to the process of bringing the story to life, countless hours of work had been poured into the film.

It has been a surprise to see that while Batgirl would not get an HBO Max release, it will be prevented from any release at all, including the assumed alternative with a theatrical release.

The news comes reportedly due to, as MovieWeb states, “the studio wanting to focus on big-budget, big-screen adventures for DC characters.”

David Zaslav, President and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, explained that there is a ten-year plan for the future of DC, looking to build a more “sustainable business” with brands that are widely known and popular including Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

Footage such as that of behind the scenes of Batgirl will definitely make fans long for more after the disappointing news that there are no plans for a release. The cast and crew put so much work into the film and one can only hope that audiences will one day get to enjoy it. Perhaps it sees the light of day down the line but for now, it is unfortunately only a wish.
