Kadoya: It was pretty gruesome from the footage I saw.

Kadoya: It’s a literal fight, between fighters, to the death.

Kadoya: I was just wondering how you would react if the same thing happened to this world.

Shoutaro: And the tournament is needed?

Kadoya: Apparently a god sanctions this fight to the deaths tournament.

Shoutaro: Nope.

Kadoya: huh?

Shoutaro: A god reveals themselves now¸ after the twice a year apocalyptic situations this Earth has?

Shoutaro: Why didn’t they help when Shocker first rose?

Shoutaro: Why didn’t they interfere during the Badan army situation? They literally used souls of the dead.

Shoutaro: Why didn’t they interfere when someone was erasing history?

Shoutaro: I don’t know about the others, but I’m not adhering to the tournament.

Shoutaro: The only god I approve of is Kazuraba.

Shoutaro: And I take issue with him turning a blind eye on things here.

Shoutaro: But whenever things do go dire, especially when people try to reach out to the fruit.

Shoutaro: He immediately deals with it.

Takeru: Wouldn’t having the tournament be good for us?

Akiko: I called everyone halfway through the Kadoya’s question.

Akiko: I called Ryu-kun, who suggested we call everyone.

Shoutaro: Maybe, but we’re forced to play the invader’s game.

Shoutaro: We’re more likely dancing in the palm of the invader’s hands.

Micchy: Hidari-san’s right.

Micchy: If they’re like the Inves.

Micchy: They’d be offering some of us bribes to help their cause then betray us.

Emu: And some of them might cheat and eliminate the chosen participants before the tournament starts.

Sougo: We should do what Geiz and Tsukuyomi did when Hiryu-kun apparently took the mantle of Ohma Zi-O?

Sougo: Guerilla tactics?

Shinnosuke: If it happened to one world.

Shinnosuke: It’ll likely happen to ours.

Shinnosuke: We all should meet and plan this out.

Shoutaro: Agreed.

-The world in question is a game called Mortal Kombat and yes it’s another realm that’s trying to invade Earth. It’s a bit different from the world’s converging event during Decade and Zi-O, and  as explained, it’s a bit like when the Helheim forest was in Gaim, but the Inves equivalents can freely choose what world they’re going to invade and are active in the invasion process -

It's not exactly the same thing but the whole situation does share some similarities with the Mirror World and the Rider War (which was orchestrated by a third party controlling both, though the Mirror Monsters that aren't contracted by the Riders + alternates like Dark Shinji can attack independently). Whoever wins the tournament gets granted a wish, and well if that isn't godlike power then I don't know what is, Fruit Jesus powers aside.

So yeah something like that HAS happened. It's just that no one's supposed to remember it happened because timey wimey shenanigans happened. Though considering Shinji's got his Rider powers back, it probably means that the Rider War happened in some fashion still, just with... less tragic results for him, I guess?

Dumbest to smartest main riders?

this is very tough. I'm going to leave out showa guys bc I feel like their bios say they all have iqs of 600 and then they make the dumbest decisions every episode. ok maybe it's just hongo whose iq is 600 but still

shinji: who here thinks kido shinji is an idiot

kouta: dumbass. stupidhead. hes cute though

gentarou: canonically kind of stupid but I'll give him leeway bc he's only 17 or 18 or whatever. also I love him

kenzaki: kenzaki is stupid

wataru: he doesn't kjnow anything and he only cares about playing the violin

sougo: little idiot. only higher than those other guys bc he does have moments of trickery and mischief

ikki: doesn't seem like a super smart guy in terms of academics, emotional intelligence also seems low, and he's not particularly manipulative or tricksy either

godai: I don't think godai is very smart. not stupid but not smart either. it's not important whether or not he's smart

ryoutarou: same as godai, he has a lot of more important good qualities than smarts. but he's emotionally intelligent

hibiki: he's good at what he's good at but he's not book smart. does have emotional intelligence though

shoutarou: i wanted to put him lower but he does actually make connections and solve cases. he's just also dumb

aruto: i can't form a clear image in my head of how smart aruto is. hes normal

takumi: he's just normal too idk. probably got really average grades

touma: I didn't watch saber but I know he writes books and is pretty well-read so I assume he's at least book smart

takeru: I was going to put him with godai and ryoutarou but iirc he was interested in history and read a lot of books about famous dead people. so I think reading nonfiction for fun is smart person behavior

haruto: maybe smarter side of average but he is a jock. I think he's clever and good at problem solving

shouichi: did canonically go to culinary school so if we assume pursuing higher education is something smart people do he's smart in that sense. he does however behave like a huge dumbass all the time

tsukasa: smart in the sense of being clever and tricksy and knows a lot of weird things but has zero emotional intelligence

emu: is in med school which has to be pretty competitive. I was going to say he's emotionally intelligent and good at dealing with people but I just remembered the time he told asuna that he had the help of his friends and then listed every character other than her

eiji: idk if eiji is book smart but he is definitely clever and he understands people well

shinnosuke: smart guy. he's quick-witted, he works as a detective, he solves crimes, etc

tendou: I think tendou is pretty smart. he always manages to come out on top of situations and he has a wide variety of random skills

sento: tensai deshou? saikou deshou? the guy's a genius physicist

I found myself kind of rating by book smarts, emotional intelligence, and cleverness so I kind of want to make charts ranking riders that way. maybe if my sound doesn't come back on

MAIN HEISEI RIDERS SCORED BY HOW GOOD IT’D BE TO DATE THEM

Godai Yusuke - 9/10. Very handsome, always optimistic, helps you out with everything, lots to talk about and is nice to your family. Practically perfect.

Shouichi Tsugami - 10/10. All the nice traits of Godai but trades in a bit of down-to-earthness for being very funny and the perfect househusband. Doesn’t get much better than this.

Shinji Kido - 4/10. He’s very nice and very sweet, but he can’t hold his job and honestly he’s a bit useless at everything he tries. Has a wonderful spirit and he’d never betray you but you’d be putting in so much work to compensate.

Takumi Inui - 2/10. Complete dick. Never smiles. Left halfway in and made you pay for the meal. Can’t even drink hot coffee. Only gets points because he would at least kick homophobic relatives

Kazuma Kenzaki - 5/10. All of the flaws of Shinji but he’s more handsome and owns a motorbike instead of a scooter. Tends to get with it a lot more as well but it’d still be so much work.

Hitoshi Hidaka - 9/10. Perhaps the perfect dilf husband; excellent dad, very nice guy, has a secure well-paying job, mentally very much there and has a great support network who’d be all over you. Unfortunately he has commitment issues but it’s workable.

Tendou Souji - 100/10. He’s too good for you. Give up.

Ryotarou Nogami - 4/10. Kept changing personalities in the middle of the date every two seconds to try and impress you in very different very wacky ways. You couldn’t really tell if it was sincere or a bit. At the start and end he was very shy but sweet though he got into an accident immediately upon leaving the restaurant. He’s just not ready.

Wataru Kurenai - 5/10. Perhaps even shyer than Ryotarou, but he brought his violin and got too flustered to play it. Could have sworn you saw a toy bat on his belt giving him advice. Nice but once again not ready.

Tsukasa Kadoya - 8/10. He’s impossible to hold down a relationship with but you have to give him that high a score for just how insane that date was. Effortlessly flamboyant and funny and took you to like 5 different worlds to impress you. Very fun, would do it again, but can’t see in a serious relationship

Shotaro Hidari & Philip - 0/10. They’re married.

Eiji Hino - 7/10. Reminds you a lot of Godai -- handsome, optimistic, nice, very dedicated, talks a lot about his adventures when asked in a super interesting way. Lots of issues, though -- insisted he pay for the meal despite having no money and promised to work it off for a week and it’s clear he’s already planning on going on another adventure soon. Awesome guy but it wouldn’t work.

Gentarou Kisaragi - 8/10. Phenomenal vibes right off the bat -- teacher who loves his students and is super enthusiastic about them and puts them first; always willing to help out; avoids conflict when he can but won’t hesitate to punch your ex if it comes to that. Great attitude all around, but he’s super high-energy and his emphasis on friendship makes a romantic relationship hard to see.

Haruto Soma - 6/10. Brought you to a donut shop outside and only ordered plain. Cool and stylish when he wants to be but you get the feeling you’d be better spending your time elsewhere.

Kouta Kazuraba - 4/10. He’s a really good person and you can tell he’s genuine, but he’s just got nothing to talk about. Made you pay for the meal because he’s broke.

Shinnosuke Tomari - 0/10. Cop.

Takeru Tenkuji - 8/10. Clearly got his life together; he’s in charge of a monastery and is pretty financially secure, got a great support network, had so much to talk about but always let you speak first. Really cute to boot. Not the best in the world but it’d work out.

Emu Hojo - 5/10. This guy’s a doctor but all he talks about is video games. And he’s nice, and being a doctor means he’s got money, but all he fucking talks about is Mighty Action X

Sento Kiryu - 0/10. He’s married.

Tokiwa Sougo - 3/10. Bit creepy honestly. Goes on and on about how he wants to be a king, refuses to get a job, he’s in college but doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. Friends are really weird too. At the end of the date a guy popped out of the aether to announce his king had found a queen. Never date again, at least he paid for the meal

Do you have any headcanons for Godai meeting and interacting with younger Riders? We never really got anything like it

No, we didn’t, and it’s not terribly surprising really given how his show ends, but you know what? I feel like a lot of other Riders have actually met him, they just don’t realize it.

ORE Journal gets a hot tip about what sounds like a supernatural occurrence halfway across the city. Kido Shinji heads out there and it’s nothing, really, just a couple of cats fighting in a spot that has some good reverb. He gets most of the details--all of them, actually, a startlingly accurate picture of the situation--from a guy who’s helping some local kids get their ball down from a tree. Never catches his name, but he’s left with the lingering impression of a smile that sticks with him for several days after.

The Den-Liner stops and picks up a passenger who orders a coffee from Naomi, compliments it extensively once it arrives, and asks for the recipe. He doesn’t seem phased by the Imagin, but he doesn’t really talk to them either. Owner, seeing him, gets sort of an odd look on his face and says, “You shouldn’t be here. Everyone remembers you.” He just shrugs, flashes a thumbs-up, pays his fare with a coin nobody but the owner seems to recognize, and gets off at the next stop.

Kurenai Wataru is playing violin in the garden when he notices that someone’s stopped at the front gate to listen. It’s a little startling, but he’s not intrusive, and he claps when Wataru finishes and asks if he ever gives lessons. Unfortunately, he says, he’s not going to be in the area for much longer, but a friend of his is looking for a new violin instructor for her son.

Onodera Yuusuke is out getting groceries, makes eye contact with someone in the produce section, and goes so dead still that Tsukasa actually runs into him. He and the stranger stare at each other for a moment and then move on without speaking. Tsukasa, who watched the entire encounter with an expression of vague alarm, spends the rest of the day watching Yuusuke like he’s a ticking time bomb.

Terui Ryuu stops to give directions to a man passing through Fuuto who, once he’s got the instructions down, asks if Ryuu’s ever met a guy named Ichijo, works over in Nagano. Of course Ryuu has, Ichijo Kaoru worked with his father once, he’s a legend. The man just grins at him and says, “He’s great, right?” and then heads on his way.

Outside a dig site in Romania, Hino Eiji is looking for somewhere to sit and eat the bento that his host’s grandmother packed for him and is surprised to hear someone else speaking Japanese on the phone next to a food stand. They eat lunch together, spend the entire time swapping stories about their travels and insisting that the other one “try this, it’s delicious,” and go their separate ways. (Several weeks later, Date Akira stops outside his field clinic to talk to a guy teaching skipping rhymes to the local kids, and is startled when the guy says, “Oh hey, I heard about you from a guy I met in Romania.”)

Kisaragi Gentarou spends an hour helping out a traveler whose bike broke down on the side of the road. The bike’s an easy fix, fortunately. The traveler gets the handshake in one try and shows him how to do a handstand.

On a beach in Okinawa, Souma Haruto takes a break from looking for a place for the Hope Ring to spend ten minutes debating the virtues of yeast-raised versus cake doughnuts with a man he’s never seen in his life but immediately trusts. When he finds out that his new acquaintance is actually a big fan of Donut Shop Hungry, he immediately Connects back to Tokyo to snag half a dozen for him. New Acquaintance is absolutely thrilled by this, asks if that’s a trick Haruto can teach him, and then doesn’t even question it when Haruto has to say, “No, definitely not.”

Kureshima Mitsuzane gets to the public stage, goes to find the usual secluded spot he watches the Beat Riders from, and is surprised to find it already occupied by a guy from out of town who’s got a takeout smoothie from Drupers and is watching the dance show with undisguised joy. He tries to go find somewhere else to watch from, but the stranger insists that they watch together, he’d love to hear about this from a local, if Micchi doesn’t mind? Micchi ends up talking to him for nearly an hour about the culture of public dance performance in Zawame, lets the stranger buy him a snack at Charmant, and then heads home feeling more at-peace than he has in months.

Hanaya Taiga takes a walk-in patient at the clinic who’s got a minor wrist fracture from a fall off his motorcycle. The x-ray of his arm looks...odd. He considers asking about it, but then he notices the look on his patient’s face when he looks at the x-ray and decides that there are some questions you just don’t ask.

Finally settled in the New World, Sento leaves his and Banjou’s warehouse home to pick up some supplies and, on the way back, nearly runs into a man who’s stopped on the sidewalk to look at the sunset. The man helps him pick up the one or two groceries that fell and, re: the sunset, tells him, “Well, you have to hang onto peace when you find it, right?” Sento thinks about this encounter, and the man’s alarmingly strong handshake, for a week.

At Kujigoji Hall, a customer stops in to have his wrist watch repaired. There’s no serious damage, the crown just needs replacing, so he waits for the work to be done instead of leaving it. Tokiwa Sougo, returning home with friends, is surprised when Woz stops in the doorway, looking at the customer, and says, “It’s you.” All the customer says, cheerfully, is, “Sure, could be.”

Track 6: Until now and in the future

Kasuga: Yes, as you've seen, HOUND ROAR is still up and down, but each member's stance towards the band is gradually becoming clearer. Thanks to that, there haven't been any sudden disbandment?! or late-night fights?! … It seems like nothing of the sort has happened, and as a manager, I'm relieved for now. It seems that hard work pays off~ Dealing with the police, handling aftermath, changing Shion's house keys, and somehow managing both sides' schedules… Well, it's a routine, but I do it well every time~ Anyway, believing in HOUND ROAR's music and potential, I reluctantly put in a lot of effort and will continue to do so in the future. Leaving that aside, regarding Shion's situation, it might have sounded like I smoothly resolved everything, but that's not the case~ Even though the order got a bit mixed up, let me supplement that part while conveying the flow leading to the successful release of the new song~ However, the details and everything else will remain a secret from now on~ If my revealed secrets get exposed, I'll get scolded by everyone. Please understand and keep it confidential~

It has been announced that two guest-stars from Kamen Rider Ryuki will appear in upcoming episodes of Kamen Rider Zi-O. Takamasa Suga will reprise his role as Shinji Kido / Kamen Rider Ryuki while Kanji Tsuda will reprise his role as Shinji’s friend and boss Daisuke Okubo, the editor-in-chief at ORE Journal.

After learning that readers of the now-defunct news publication "ORE Journal" have been attacked by Another Ryuga, Sougo and the others visit the former editor-in-chief Okubo.

In order to find out more, they also head to the residence of Shinji Kido, a former 'hot reporter' for ORE Journal. However, the house is completely shut-up and the windows are covered.

While attempting to figure out this mystery and defeat Another Ryuga; the relationship between Sougo, Geiz, and White Woz begins to shift.

Suga and Tsuda will appear in the 21st and 22nd episodes of Kamen Rider Zi-O, airing on February 3rd, 2019 and February 10th, 2019 respectively.

does unnecessary acrobatic stunts for the hell of it (which his actor, seiya motoki, really does!)

wants the phantom thieves and police officers to be friends and work together instead of fighting

his show is so weird and confusing but that’s okay because he’s cute and has an adorably bad attitude

always trying to take photos with the camera he carries. they always turn out looking shitty. he says it’s because the world is rejecting him, and not because he’s shitty at taking photos.

so he’s supposed to hop universes destroying worlds but he seems to just keep saving them instead

said worlds are extremely strange AUs of the first nine heisei kamen rider shows

anyway, back to tsukasa. he has a weird and sexy way of sitting which he did in front of black woz once which made him start doing it

actually his interactions with black woz in zi-o are memorably hilarious for both characters

every time tsukasa enters a new world, he automatically has a job that helps him fit in. in the kiva world, he’s a concert violinist–and boy, can he play. in the blade world, he’s the head chef of a cafeteria, and comes up with some great (if a little underhanded) methods of making money.

will i have the answer to that by the time i finish watching decade or nah?

she’s super cute and acts cheery but she’s got some intense sadness going on deep down which remains a secret to most people

Okubo-senpai and Shinji Kido were so old. Time had changed them so much, it took me a while to realise that man was Shinji. At least, I could still recognise Okubo-senpai.

Nevertheless, it made me felt old too.

I just realised… Geiz and Tsukuyomi were actually on a Suicide Mission. They never wondered about the future they going to change because they did not expect to survive to see it.

Tsukuyomi was a soldier too. I wished the show would give her a more active role, in and out of battlefield. I felt like her role was limited to react over unexpected event together with everyone else, investigating clues and had a heart-to-heart talk with Geiz and Sougo. Talked about a waste of good character. :/

Black Woz had gotten a little cheerier now. It was interesting how we could still see the differences between him and White Woz even in this state. Salute to the actor.

Mirror World Tokiwa Sougo gave me the impression that he was channelling Asakura Takeshi. I wondered if that was deliberate.
