Mostly I just don’t want to fall into the trap of defining characters by their voice actors. On the other hand, they keep playing characters who are fun to ship! Mogar/Hilda is cute, Max/Space Kid has loads of potential, and you can have Ruby/Sun when you pry it from my cold dead hands.

If Michael ever got a character in RvB (a proper developed one) Kimboyle would be dead to me.

HOW COULD YOU MAKE ME CHOOSE

1. Razaya. Forever the #1 otp in my heart, their mutual character arcs were just so beautifully done, Razer moving forward from his grief and rage and wanting to be a better person and Aya learning about the world around her and how to handle emotions and heartbreak for the first time. In just one season they both grew and changed so wonderfully and the setup for season 2 promised us even more glory. It’s been four years and I still haven’t forgiven Cartoon Network for cancelling GLTAS, anyone who knows me irl knows bringing it up will guarantee at least ten minutes of angry ranting.

2. Cygate just tugs at all of my heartstrings, tiny marshmallow bot and the grumpy sword bunny who would rip the sky down for him they love each other SO MUCH. Watching their relationship develop was one of the emotional highlights of mtmte and lost light and JRo if you don’t bring in a damn good reason for burying Tailgate again we are going to have Words.

3. Kimdoyle. As leaders and as people Kimball and Doyle complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses wonderfully, and I am absolutely enthralled by the relationship they could have without years of forced animosity in the way. My lovely girlfriend knows I have about 4 or 5 AUs with these two swimming around in my head.

4. Grimmons, eternally joined at the hip the greatest bffs (boyfriends forever) in history. Their only flaw is their relationship constantly hovering on the edge of queerbaiting territory in-show (RT please, let them say “i love you” let them hold hands please just please give us SOMETHING IRREFUTABLY ROMANTIC)

5. Amedot precious shorties. Peridot is my daughter I love her and I loved her interactions with Amethyst during her redemption arc. Visually their designs complement each other and they can learn so much from each other. One of the good things about the new developments in the latest Steven Bomb is finally getting to see them spend time together again.

my all-time ultimate fave character:Everyone knows it’s my main man Sarge. He’s just so funny and delightful, I’ve laughed and smiled so much because of this loser and I love him.

a character I didn’t used to like but now do:I used to forget about Lopez constantly because everyone else does but honestly? He’s one the most hilarious characters in the show and he deserves so much love.

a character I used to like but now don’t:The mercs. They’re so very overrated and as much as I like the idea if Red team Locus, if I never saw anything about either one of them again I’d be happy.

a character I’m indifferent about:Maine. We saw too little of him before Sigma took over for me to form any kind of opinion on him.

a character who deserved better:So many but TEX ESPECIALLY. She was a main character and had such a super intresting story with so much potential for development and interactions with other characters and then they made her a plot device for Church’s story and we were fucking robbed.

a ship I’ve never been able to get into:Kimb//alina. At the time I learned about it they hadn’t even talked and I just couldn’t see it? Sorry.

a ship I’ve never been able to get over:Tuckington. I followed someone for a while who was VERY vocal about their dislike of that ship, and I was ashamed to like it for a while, but I couldn’t give up on it.

a cute, low-key ship:SargeGrey. It’s not huge or anything but it’s totally adorable.

an unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it:I don’t know if Kimboyle was unpopular but considering the discourse it probably was. But I didn’t care and I enjoyed the fuck outta that ship.

a ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened:I don’t wanna say totally but Yorka//lina wasn’t written very well in my opinion.

my favourite storyline/moment:Can I just say the entirety of seasons 4 and 5? Because that’s when we had the perfect ratio of comedy to plot and the dialogue-driven humor was just phenomenal.

a storyline that never should have been written:The Counselor being included in season 13 was the most unnecessary thing ever written in this show to date.

my first thoughts on the show:Looks like this show has some cool moments but I don’t see what so entertaining about it.

my thoughts now:This show has helped me grow as an artist, make new friends, and laugh more times than I can count and I am so so grateful that I found it.
