Live und in Farbe, aber sehr schlechte Qualität

Heute Abend ist das erste Konzert von Taylor Swift in Deutschland. Ich habe aus diversen anxietybasierten Gründen keine Tickets, worüber ich mich im Nachhinein sehr ärgere, aber es ist wie es ist und nachdem mein Instagram die ein oder andere Internetbekanntschaft bei der Anreise nach Gelsenkirchen zeigt, bin ich doch höchstinteressiert.

Ich habe auch schon mitbekommen, dass es wohl Livestreams von den Konzerten gibt, wie genau das funktioniert, weiß ich allerdings nicht. Am Ende des Abends bin ich etwas schlauer.

Die Livestreams funktionieren so, dass YouTuber zu Hause an ihrem Rechner sind und Livestreams von anderen Leuten, die auf dem Konzert sind von TikTok oder Instagram abgreifen. Wenn ein Stream abbricht oder es Verbindungsprobleme gibt, sieht man, wie der YouTuber hektisch auf dem Bildschirm einen neuen Stream sucht und ins Bild schiebt.

Ich habe nur durch Zufall einen sehr, sehr reizenden YouTuber gefunden, der jeden Song mitsingt und nur in einer kleinen Pause und nach Ende des Konzerts ein paar Worte in noch reizenderem lispelnden britischen Englisch sagt und sich sehr über die ganzen neuen Abonnenten freut.

Der Stream vom Konzert nimmt auch nicht den ganzen Bildschirm ein, am rechten Rand sind noch dreieinhalb andere Dinge eingeblendet. Als erstes eine Umfrage, welches Outfit Taylor Swift zu welchem Song beziehungsweise welcher Era tragen wird. Es gibt für jedes Outfit bereits bekannte Variationen. Für Social Media relevant war mir bis jetzt nur das Outfit der 1989-Era (1989 ist der Name eines Albums) bekannt, das aus einem jeweils andersfarbigen Top und einem Rock besteht, und dafür bekannt ist, dass an jedem Abend eine andere Farbenkombi getragen wird. Für die Kombis gibt es Matrixen in Swiftie-Kreisen verbunden mit Mutmaßungen darüber, welche Kombi noch übrig ist und auf welchem Konzert man sie sehen will. (Für Gelsenkirchen N1 - das steht für Night 1, denn es gibt drei Konzerte in Gelsenkirchen - ist es übrigens die Kombi gold-gold.)

Darunter ist ein Timer eingeblendet, den ich nicht deuten kann und der nach allem, was ich weiß, nicht der Timer für das Ende der Show sein kann, dafür ist die Zeitspanne zu kurz.

Darunter ist der YouTuber beim Mitsingen in einem kleinen Video zu sehen.

Wofür der Timer ist, erfahre ich aber auch noch. Jedes Konzert von Taylor Swift auf der Eras Tour hat ein "Acoustic Set", bei dem sie je ein Mashup von zwei Songs (also insgesamt vier Songs) jeweils auf Gitarre und Klavier spielt. Diese Songs variieren pro Konzert, auch das ist eine Quelle von Mutmaßungen, Vorhersagen, Listen und offensichtlich auch crippling anxiety bei Swifties auf Social Media. (Letzteres, weil sich manche Swifties um ihren Lieblingssong betrogen fühlen, wenn er erst kurz vorher auf einem anderen Konzert gespielt wird und damit die Chancen sinken, dass sie ihn selber live hören werden.)

Da das Acoustic Set durch die ständigen Variationen sowohl wegen der Songauswahl als auch der Mashups komplett individuell ist, ist dieser Teil anscheinend für viele Swifties der einzige Teil am Konzert, der interessant ist. Als wir das Set erreichen, wird der Timer durch ein Textfeld ersetzt, in dem der YouTuber die Songs, die gespielt werden, live einträgt, sobald er sie erkennt. (Das ist das dreieinhalbte Ding, von dem ich oben schrieb.)

Nach dem Set verabschiedet er sich kurz von allen Zuschauern, die jetzt gehen, weil sie der Rest des Konzertes nicht mehr so interessiert.

Optisch und akustisch ist das übrigens alles eine Vollkatastrophe. Die Kamera wackelt, die Streamer sitzen auch nur auf irgendwelchen normalen Plätzen und haben nicht immer die beste Sicht auf die Bühne. Sie singen selber mit oder jemand direkt neben ihnen singt mit. Auf der anderen Seite sind Livekonzerte ja auch vor Ort oft optisch und akustisch eine Katastrophe aus genau den gleichen Gründen. Die Atmosphäre leidet schon ein bisschen, aber dafür kann man nach Konzertschluss auch einfach ins Bett gehen und muss nicht zwei Stunden im Parkhaus auf die Ausfahrt warten.

The office is decorated for the holidays. Streamers of tinsel are strung over a few of the doors he passes, and there are tiny trees decorated with baubles in the break rooms and the same offices that really go all out for the holiday.

Klavier himself has tucked a small tree beside his computer and considers that enough for now. The weather has finally started to cool off, so maybe he'll go on a walk.

That is, until he hears the telltale sound of a knock at his door.

“Can we get fireworks?” Sky asked as she looked over at her dad.

The Edgeworth’s were currently at the dollar store picking up chips and snacks for this evening. They were hosting a fourth of July barbeque and pool party for all their friends. Since there were so many people, they figured dollar store snacks were the best option. Cheap and decent quality. Sky was leaning on the cart while she watched her dad pick between different kinds of cheetos and cheeses.

“No, they are illegal,” he said, not really paying attention to her. She huffed.

“Here, get these ones,” she grabbed a page of spicy and regular cheetos, “there. Now can we at least get sparklers?”

“I do believe Wright said he’d bring some,” he looked into their cart, “I believe we have everything. What do you think?”

“Hm, snakoos.”

“I’m sure Ms. Skye will bring her own.” Miles started walking out of the aisle, and Sky followed, still leaning into the cart.

“She probably will, but they’ll only last five maybe ten minutes. Let’s just pick up a box, they’re nice and cheap here anyways.”

“Alright, I’ll meet you in line,” he said, taking the cart from her. She ran off to find the box of snakoos for Ema.

It was around three in the afternoon when they got home. Plenty of time to set everything up for six. Miles took the food inside to refrigerate it, while Sky ran to take the lawn chairs out back and open the pool. Their house wasn’t too big, it had two bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a home office. Plus the kitchen, living room, and dinning room. But they had a pretty big yard so pess could run around, so it was the best place for a party.

Miles watched his daughter through the window as she struggled to get the cover off the pool. However, just as she pulled it back and sat up in triumph, Pess ran over and jumped on her back knocking her in. He laughed as he headed to the linen closet to grab her a towel.

Phoenix and Trucy showed up around five forty so Phoenix could start the barbeque. He was charged with making burgers, hotdogs, and ribs. While he started that, the girls took to decorating while Miles set out the snacks in bowls. The girls could feel their father's eyes watching them. Trucy and Sky were currently trying to hang a banner in front of the door, but they couldn’t find two step ladders, so they were standing precariously on the edge of chairs.

“Careful you two.”

“Ah!” They screamed, wobbling slightly as a new voice warned them to be careful. Both fathers moved to catch their daughters, glaring at the new arrival.

“Whoops!” Athena called, sticking her tongue out, “My bad. Need any help?”

“We’re good!” They both called.

“Cykes-dono,” both girls jumped again.

“Nope, I’m done! Forget the streamers Truce,” Sky yelled as she scrambled down, Trucy did the same.

“My apologies, Wright-chan, Edgeworth-chan. We did not mean to startle you,” Simon said as he stepped out onto the porch with Athena.

“Where’s Polly? I thought you two were coming together?”

“We were, but then your mom didn’t have a ride so him and Klav went to pick them up. So I got a ride with Simon! They should be here soon,” Athena laughed before making a b-line for the snacks.

“Cykes-dono, you will spoil your appetite,” Simon sighed, following after her.

True to Athena’s words, Thalassa, Apollo, and Klavier showed up soon after along with the Skyes and Rayfa. Since Nahyuta had traveled the world plenty, and seen many celebrations, he’d asked Ema if Rayfa could accompany her to experience the celebration. Rayfa looked around a little awkwardly, she was in jean shorts with a little american flag and a t-shirt with an eagle outline. Apparently she had protested profusely, but Ema had insisted she wear anything but her usual outfit. To make her feel a little better, Ema and Lana had done similar themed outfits.

“So, goggle heads sister,” Rayfa poked Lana who was picking up a rack of ribs, “What are these fireworks that goggle head was talking about?”

“Oh, um… I don’t really know how to explain it. They’re like little rockets that explode into pretty colours in the sky, if you use them right, they aren’t too dangerous. But they’re technically illegal because they’re explosives.”

“So, we can’t see them?”

“Actually Fraulein,” Klavier cut in, he was behind Rayfa in the food line, “that’s not technically true. While they are illegal to the public, some places have licenses that let them use fireworks. Not to mention some people simply ignore the law all together.” Rayfa’s eyes lit up.

“So do we have some?!”

The three of them looked over to Miles and Phoenix who were standing under a tree.

“Herr Edgeworth! Do we have fireworks?” Miles frowned and Phoenix laughed.

“Sadly we couldn’t convince Miles to let us buy some-”

“Because they are illegal.”

“But we do have sparklers!”

“Oh those are fun, you’ll like those,” Lana said. “Now, let’s grab some food and find somewhere to sit.”

It was a surprisingly calm evening, at least by their standards. After eating,Trcuy and Sky started dragging people into the water. First it was Polly, who was shoved in by his sister, and Athena jumped in after him. Next, the girls decided Simon needed to get in the water, and that turned into an adventure as he was too big to push in. After a few minutes of fruitless pushing, Simon picked the girls up and threw them into the water. They resurfaced only to be shoved back under by the wave Simon created when he jumped in after them.

Apollo and Ema had eased into the shallow end with Rayfa to teach her how to swim. Khura’in wasn’t exactly warm enough to swim most of the year, but it was a good skill to have, especially if she was going to travel more. At first, she floundered around a lot, but eventually she figured out how to at least float. By the time they had to get out of the pool, the sun had started to set, she could tread water and float.

“Achtung baby! Who’s read for the sparklers!” Klavier laughed as him and Apollo stepped out of the house with sparklers.

“Here, everyone come grab one to start.” Apollo waved everyone over. “Here, these ones are coloured, and these crackle. These ones-” He was cut off by a loud, booming sound that made everyone jump.

They turned around to see fireworks being set off a little ways in the distance. Rayfa hid behind Ema, poking her head out when she realized no one was panicking. Ema leaned down a bit.

“You wanted to see fireworks?” She whispered, and Rayfa nodded. “There,” she pointed towards the bright explosions.

“Wow, I need to talk to braid head about bringing these to Khura’in…”

Apollo laughed, “Maybe start with sparklers. Come on! Let’s light them up.”

“Ya!” Trucy and Sky cheered, pumping their fists in the hair.

It was nearly midnight when the party was disbanded. Rayfa had a short list of things she needed to speak with her brother about once she returned, she was asleep on her feet though as they left. The same could be said for Athena, but not Apollo and Trucy who had fallen asleep, Sky was dozing off beside her dad as they waved goodbye to everyone. Klavier, Apollo, and Thalassa left first since they had to make two stops, and Simon decided he and Athena should leave too. Ema helped back up some of the extra food to take home, while Lana took Rayfa to the car, they left last.

Carefully, Phoenix carried Trucy up to Sky’s room, while Miles helped Sky up the stairs so she didn’t trip. Once the two girls were tucked in, they went back down to finish putting away the food.

“Y’know this is nice,” Phoenix hummed. “Being able to have everyone over, it’s a shame we can’t do it more often. I mean- everyone’s always busy. It would be nice if people could just drop by while we’re all in one place… And it’s nice seeing Trucy and Sky toget-”

“Wright,” Miles said, cutting him off.

“Ya?”

“Yes, I will marry you…” Phoenix’s eyes widened.

“Whaa?! What makes you thi-”

“You’ve been playing with something in your pocket all day, and Trucy can’t stop smiling when she looks at me. Not to mention her and Sky have been watching us and giggling since Trucy pulled her aside earlier. Mr. Justice and Ms. Cykes have also been looking at me strangely for weeks. It was the only logical conclusion,” he smiled.

“Fine,” Phoenix puffed his cheeks out. “But you have to pretend not to know until lunch tomorrow. Maya and Pearl wanted to be there when I asked you.” Miles laughed.

“I believe that’s doable.”

I had the chance to sit and interview  Studio Chawan, the creative mind behind it, to uncover how this gem came to life, their inspirations, and what makes Mirage Noir stand out. “Studio Chawan is comprised of one member (me, hello!) and several commissioned helpers. As such, most of the members were reached out to based on my personal preferences and vision of the game. They’ve all been extremely helpful and invested in the game, however, so I’m very thankful for their help!” "It is the first game for me and a couple other members of the team, so it’s definitely been a challenge, especially administration and marketing-wise."

“As we mention basically everywhere, the game is inspired by Ace Attorney and Bustafellows, but also by other investigative games like Collar x Malice, Your Turn to Die, etc. There are a lot of other inspirations that we'll keep a secret for now, but overall I decided to start this project based on my own experiences these past few years as someone who also relatively recently graduated from college and started a corporate job.” “As for the characters, most of them are inspired by a mix of various characters I like (this game is pretty self-indulgent at the end of the day lol). For example, Alexei (Childe - obviously, Klavier Gavin - Ace Attorney), Jem (Prompto, FFXV), etc.”

“Programmer and cosplayer were by plot necessity, and I thought adding a streamer could both be relatable as well as allow the story to explore the online/fandom angle, which is obviously pretty important in our current world.” "Prince and gangster were mostly self-indulgent haha. The story just required a CEO/physically active type, but they were tweaked a bit to suit personal tastes. Hope they turned out okay!"

“Dynamics-wise, I spent a bit of time making sure that even though they’re all very different characters, Yunie shares certain characteristics with each LI. Can't reveal what exactly they are at the moment, but I wanted to show that even people from very different walks of life can have similarities as well.” "Glad to hear they’re distinct enough! The duo keychains with their dynamics are some of my favorite pieces of merch just because they show off a lot of personality."

“I’m a major fan of found family and friend dynamics in general. Having a group that likes to rib on each other was important and we tried to place emphasis not only on the relationship between the four boys, but also between the LIs and side characters as well to make them more fleshed out. The found family relationship was obviously inspired by Bustafellows, but we also took inspiration from other games with RPG parties as well, such as the Persona series.”

“Other than the self-indulgent bits (the jackets…) we tried to create designs that overlapped with other characters to show their significance. For example, all the main characters have some sort of flower symbol on their design as a reference to a certain flower-based hooded figure. Alexei and Nikolai also both take certain features from Sasha to symbolize their respect for him. There will be more of that with the other characters as well.”

“It’s been very nice! We’re very thankful. The escape section has understandably had the most split opinion, but none of the feedback has really come as a surprise, no. (Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to leave some!)”

My new idea: With the fact that Kristoph is 1000x more locked in than Klavier, who may as well just be modeling for an advertisement, I propose that Ace Attorney twitch streamer AUs should actually have Kristoph as a streamer. Klavier does 0 gaming. He pops into Kristoph’s streams occasionally to be annoying and plug his next album, flirt a little with the chat, and leave.

Every day I think about gamer Kristoph. This entire official art is great. Klavier is being a pretty boy, Apollo is intense, Trucy has that autistic stare, Ema is rage quitting in the background… but Gamer Kristoph REALLY gets me.

just finished re-watching the second half of Ace Attorney 4-1 Bridge To The Turnabout via RTGame’s Twitch stream of it and several comments, some related some irrelevant:

(1) I still hold that Trucy’s sprites are the best sprites in the series imo (though I do like Godot, Klavier, Apollo, and Maya’s, to name a few), HOWEVER the sprite art for Iris in the second trial (AKA, when it was Maya channeling Dahlia impersonating Iris) is SO fucking cool. The way that they mixed all three of the character’s sprites together, it’s so fucking neat. And unnerving. So I really love that.

(2) Damn, Godot really is the best character in the series huh.

(3) RTGame’s fucking streaming on Tuesday with DougDoug and FailBoat, and DougDoug is literally my favorite streamer and RT is one of my OTHER favorite streamers. This is just like when I found out DougDoug is Davey Wreden (favorite game designer / writer)’s brother but like a little less intense since this crossover makes more logical sense but STILL. I’ll be busy Tuesday but I am watching that damn VOD eventually.

(4) Bridge to the Turnabout is such a fucking good conclusion case like. It really did do everything that it needed to honestly like. And God it makes me cry every time which isn’t a common thing for me especially not with video games but that shit wrecks me. If it’s not Godot’s whole backstory/reveal, then it’s Maya’s anguish the entire fucking time, and if not that then it’s Iris’ affection for Dahlia, or Pearls’ anguish the entire fucking time too, or just. Yeah. And it’s like, it’s got comedic moments and all the duos you could ask for it’s so. It’s so good.

I have more thoughts but this is kind of a long post. Anyway I LOVE AA4 but nothing can beat the main trilogy in my heart tbh. <3
