Tails became my translator, actually.

As I mentioned before, he learned signed language so all I had to say, he would translate it to Knuckles.

Yes, obviously Knuckles was suspicious of this (and he was not suspicious of Eggman?? What a Knuckle-head), but eventually he understood I could simply not talk.

Summary:

Ever since he was six, Knuckles was fending for himself, which was hard enough without scavengers constantly trying to abduct him to be put in an arena for their own entertainment. It was even harder when all of his free time was spent searching for the last remaining member of the Owl Clan.

That decade was the most difficult part of his life, and now he had security, he had a family, but how was he supposed to get used to that when his entire life was spent just trying to survive another day?

He couldn’t.
