Favorite color: Honestly, varies every day. Right now, I'm feeling a peacock blue, or turquoise.

Currently watching: Dunmeshi and Bad Batch, though I'm not into TV series like I used to be. I often forget to watch the latest episodes.

Sweet/Savory/Spicy: It used to be sweet, but in the past year or so, my taste buds have refused to accept spicy foods. I've even had to forgo some of my favorite chips flavors (goodbye, Lays magic masala. You were there for me when no one else was). I think I've lost my Indian badge. I'm more of a cheese, corn, paneer, and mushroom guy now. Is that 'savory'?

Relationship status: Single.

Current Obsession: My fanfic series, the Records of Heroes Past. It follows the PC cast of Star Wars: the Old Republic, plus additional OCs I added in. It retells the stories, and expands on them. I'm currently at Book 5: Limbo, which focuses on Lana Beniko during the 5 year timeskip after KOTFE Chapter 1. I've put my heart and soul into that garbage, and I can't stop now. Once it's done, I might quit everything.

Last thing I googled: Koth Melan. He's a character from Shadows of the Empire; a Bothan spymaster who is instrumental in securing the Death Star II intel for the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

It shot up there in popularity pretty quickly, which I suppose I had somewhat expected.. My love for Sophie and Howl is not isolated, and people want to see them together.. Particularly with Howl in bird form.

I'm surprised this one has so many comments honestly. Wann stimmt die Stimmung im Advent oder zu Weihnachten?!?

von Thomas Klappstein Weihnachten wird’s! Advent wird’s! Aber sind Sie bereits in Weihnachtsstimmung oder zumindest schon mal in Adventsstimmung? Das muß ja nicht selbstverständlich sein. Und, was ist eigentlich Weihnachtsstimmung? Wann stimmt die Stimmung im Advent?  Bei den richtigen musikalischen Klängen? Bei Kerzenschein? Beim Päckchenpacken und beim Punsch? Bei Kinderträumen und den Erinnerungen an frühere Zeiten? Bei fröhlichem Gelächter?

Schön wäre es wohl, wenn man einfach Eintauchen könnte in diese besondere Zeit – für manche die schönste Zeit des Jahres – und die Geräusche des Alltags ausblenden. Aber in der Realität höre ich dieselben Klänge wie sonst auch im Jahr. In der Woche startet mein Nachbar auch im Advent seinen Kleintransporter mit Handwerkerutensilien um 7 Uhr, um zu einer seiner Baustellen zu fahren. Das Klirren eines Schlüsselbundes und das folgende Einrasten der Haustür verrät mir, daß mein Sohn das Haus für seinen 450,- - Euro Studenten-Mini-Job verläßt. Unsere Tochter, die mittlerweile in einer anderen Stadt lebt, ruft an, um mal Hallo zu sagen oder sich einen Rat zu holen. Meine Frau spielt Klavier oder auf der Gitarre, um entweder den Unterricht vorzubereiten, neue Stücke für ihren Stadtteilfrauenchor oder unsere gemeinsame „Ach!-Advents-Tour“ einer „Adventlichen Kunstpause – mit Lesungen und musikalischen Atempausen zur Weihnachtswundernacht“ vorzubereiten. Und gerne macht sie auch einfach nur für sich selbst Musik und singt. Die Summe solcher Klänge macht mein Leben unverwechselbar. Bei anderen wird die Summe ihres unverwechselbaren Lebens mit anderen Klängen gebildet. Wehren kann ich mich gegen Geräusche kaum. Die Ohren nicht wie die Augen schließen. Aber ich kann versuchen auf Klänge zu hören, die mein Leben im Advent anders machen. Und auch meine anderen Sinne schärfen. Mich darauf einlassen, das Weihnachten wird. Es gibt Dinge, die mache ich nur im Advent und zu Weihnachten. Traditionen haben sich entwickelt. Nüsse knacken, unseren großen roten Herrnhuter Stern in den Baum am Haus hängen und die ganze Advents- und Weihnachtszeit durchleuchten lassen, damit er die Nachbarn und Vorbeikommende erfreut. Oder wirklich gutes Marzipan besorgen und essen (o.k., bei Marzipan gibt es die eine oder andere Ausnahme über das Jahr verteilt – aber nur ganz wenige ...). Kerzen werden in der Regel nur mit einem Streichholz entzündet. Um nur einige Beispiele zu nennen.      Und natürlich Weihnachtsgeschichten lesen, um mich in und von dieser besonderen Zeit inspirieren zu lassen. Die Originalen, im Neuen Testament, die eine Zäsur im Weltgeschehen dargestellt haben – der Schöpfer kam in seine Schöpfung als Geschöpf –, aber auch die Nachfolgegeschichten. Die Klassiker, die im Laufe der vergangenen Jahre, Jahrzehnte, eigentlich Jahrhunderte entstanden sind und das Ur-Weihnachtsgeschehen reflektieren und zeigen, welchen Einfluß es im Alltag haben kann und die Neuen, die jedes Jahr entstehen, von denen manche das Zeug zum Klassiker haben.

Viele eint vielleicht die Hoffnung und Sehnsucht, einen besonderen, einen speziellen Advent zu erleben und eine Weihnachtszeit, die voller Wunder steckt, die eszu entdecken gilt. Und trotzdem kommt manchmal alles anders. Im Frühjahr vermag ich noch gar nicht zu sagen, wie jeweils am Ende des Jahres Weihnachten gefeiert werden kann. Die Corona-Krise, die im Jahre 2020 und 2021 und teilweise auch noch im Jahre 2022 so massiv für Einschränkungen im öffentlichen und persönlichen Leben gesorgt hat und somit auch die Feier des Weihnachtsfestes beeinflusst hat, ist vorüber. Die meisten denken vielleicht, so wie es die letzten drei Jahre war, wird es sicherlich nicht wieder werden. Das Virus hat sich verzogen. Na ja, nicht ganz. Aber es ist hoffentlich schwächer und harmloser geworden. Und auf Dauer wird die Menschheit sicherlich auch lernen müssen, mit diesem Virus zu leben.                              Der schreckliche Angriffskrieg, den der russische Präsident Putin gegen die Ukraine Ende Februar 2022 losgetreten hat, spielt auch im Jahre 2023 im Advent und zu Weihnachten immer noch eine Rolle in der europäischen Gesellschaft, aber auch weltweit. Die Auswirkungen und Folgen werden viele Menschen noch eine ganze Weile begleiten, auch wenn dieser Krieg eines Tages beendet sein wird. Aber schon ist ein neuer Konflikt hinzugekommen, im Nahen Osten, zwischen Israel und der Hamas-Terrorbewegung aus dem Gaza-Streifen. Ausgelöst durch den brutalen Überfall der Hamas auf Israel im Oktober dieses Jahres. Umweltkatastrophen häufen sich. Das trübt die Stimmung. Nicht nur im Advent. Aber hier für einige besonders. Fakt ist allerdings:  Weihnachten fällt nicht aus! Wie das Fest auch 2020 und 2021 in der Corona-Krise nicht ausgefallen ist. Auch wenn Weihnachtsmärkte ausfallen können, Weihnachtsfeiern ausfallen können, Weihnachtsbesuche ausfallen können, sogar Weihnachtsgottesdienste ausfallen können, so fällt doch Weihnachten nicht aus. Weil Liebe nicht ausfällt, Hoffnung nicht ausfällt, Licht im Dunkel nicht ausfällt und vor allem „Immanuel - Gott mit uns“ nicht ausfällt. Jesus der Retter ist da. Weihnachten fällt nicht aus, es wird nur manchmal anders gefeiert. Auch in herausfordernden Zeiten kann ich versuchen auf Klänge zu hören, die mein Leben im Advent anders machen. Und auch meine anderen Sinne schärfen. Mich darauf einlassen, das Weihnachten wird. Dafür sorgen, daß die Stimmung stimmt im Advent und zu Weihnachten. Manchmal helfen dabei anrührende, komische, humorvolle, traurig-schöne, aber auch ernsthaft mitfühlende Geschichten. Manchmal auch einfach die richtige Musik. Immer aber die Besinnung auf denjenigen, auf den wir im Advent warten und wegen dem wir Weihnachten feiern, der Weihnachten quasi erfunden hat: Jesus Christus. How many do they have, again?” “Before the war, a hundred thousand destroyers, and forty thousand Dreadnoughts,” Erisa replied. “And we’ve destroyed fewer than a hundred Dreadnoughts, and just over two thousand Destroyers. They were supposed to be on the brink by now!” “If they attack Zakuul with that fleet, they will do some serious damage before we can stop them,” Vaylin commented. “They might even be able to destroy the Spire. Or target the Eternal City itself.” “The search would be a lot easier,” Arcann snarled, “If I had the Scions aiding me. Their Sight could be all that’s needed to tip the scales. Where are they?” “Still in the Hall of the Benevolent Guide,” Vaylin replied. “They’re ‘waiting for Guidance.’ Like always.” “My patience has run out.
