Being 19 and this excited for a slumber party has got to be embarrassing. But you gotta sympathize with yourself,  you've never been to a slumber party ever. Why? Well you had strict parents who wouldn't let you sleep at anyone's house when you were young. Hell they barely even let you go out to your friend's house for a few hours. It was miserable growing up when you were always the one being left out at the hang outs just because you knew your mom and dad's answer will be no. They were just that protective of you and would rather you focus on your studies.

By the time you turned 17 you didn't think too much about it as you grew older, you knew the rules. So when you and your best friend Kyujin were talking about random things, the fact that you never went to a sleepover was brought up. And guess what? Kyujin knew exactly how you felt since her parents were the same way. So that's when the awesome idea came to life. Kyujin decided it was about time you both got a chance to live a childhood dream. The weekend came over, neither of you had college classes today so it was perfect.

You pull up to Kyujin's apartment building at exactly 6 pm. Duffle bag slunged onto your arm, you are in all pink sweats as you get out of your car. You head towards the building and take the lift to Kyujin's floor. You promptly ring the doorbell. It took approximately 8 seconds for Kyujin to open the door.

    “Eonnie! You're here just on time!” Kyujin pulls you into a hug. “I was just about to start building the fort. According to Hye, Forts are one of the best parts about a sleepover.”

Hye was Kyujin's cute little cousin. That girl was an expert as sleepovers according to Kyujin. You two enter the house, walking straight to the living room. There are already pillows and the two dining chairs ready for the fort building. You two got right to work. You and Kyujin place the dinning chairs and sofa cushions in a strategical way so the fort would not fall over later when you two were under it. Once satisfied with the layout, you and Kyujin lay the blankets on top, pinning them in place with clips. The fort's base was finished. Ah but you two weren't going to stop there, you had to go all out, after all this was supposed to be the best slumber party ever. It was time for the decorations! Fairy lights were hung inside, cute plushies and pillows were placed for aesthetics and a fan because it was definitely going to get hot later under all those blankets. Kyujin grabs another blanket and she hangs it at the entrance for the door. The fort was perfect! You and Kyujin did a high-five, proud of your work.

The next thing on the list was karaoke! Kyujin hands you a sparkly pink microphone, she has a matching sparkly purple one. She hits play on the remote. The music starts flowing from the tv speakers, you and Kyujin begin to sing your hearts out.

“Jesus, museun mal-i pil-yohae? modu neol jagpum-ilago bulleo! Just a little bit of you,

gyeoghage akkyeo, baby. mwo hana ppajim-eobs-i yeppeuguna.” Kyujin sings the chorus.

“Her, eoeo, her, eoeo, her, eoeo, uh, eoan-i beongbeonghae” You continue the next part, “Her, eoeo, her, eoeo, her, eoeo, neo malgon jeonbu pyeongbeomhae.”

The song list went on from Block B's "Her", to Twice's "What is Love?", Trouble Maker's "Trouble Maker”, Ivy's "Aha!", 2ne1's "I Am the Best", and 4minute's "Hot Issue". There were other songs included because you guys sang your hearts out till you two couldn't no more but I won't put the rest cause it would go on forever.

What type of sleepover would it be if you two didn't do sheet masks and painted each other's nails?

The makeshift spa was right next to the fort. You and Kyujin spoke about anything and everything as you carefully pained Kyujin's nails a soft shade of pink. She had done yours prior so it was her turn. Moisturizing animal sheet masks were on your faces as you did this. Kyujin had a watermelon cat face mask while you had a lemon cat—they were from this brand's summer fruit collection.

    “Sleep overs are really fun. I know I would have enjoyed them as a kid.” You speak quietly. The polish brush glides pink onto her finger nails. Kyujin nods. There was a soft silence over the two of you after that.

When your nails had finish drying, it was finally time for movies. And snacks! There was a long movie marathon ahead of you. The goal was to not fall asleep. You and Kyujin cuddle up together inside the fort with your laptop playing various disney movies.

It was almost 5 in the morning, you both were halfway through Moana two. You hug the pillow that was under your chin. You force your eyelids awake, there must be no sleeping. You girls had basically pulled an all nighter since the sun was about to come up soon. You take a peak at Kyujin. She is asleep on the flower pillow, her eyes shut. Her lashes on her cheek flutter a little but she did not open her eyes. A small smile appears on your lips, she looks so cute and peaceful. When had she fallen asleep? She had just commented on the storyline a minute ago. You hit pause on the movie, sleep threatening to take over you as you do the task. You pull a blanket over her before doing so with yourself. Your eyes close shut almost instantly, the fan hums quietly in the background, lulling you to dreamland.

You both would deem this the perfect ultimate slumber party. And of course there will be many more to come even through all your adult years.

Chapter 9: Broken Hearts

Synopsis: Niki comes across a girl and becomes friend with her because he loved her company. Niki thinks he only likes her as a friend and likes someone else romantically and gets into a relationship with his 'crush'. But does he actually just see Y/N platonically?

Y/N went to the hybe building to wish jungwon birthday with Wonyoung. When she got there she met Kyujin ,niki, heeseung, Jake and jungwon.

Y/N waved in tiny at Niki, Niki awkwardly waved back, however he left after waving.

Y/N: Happy birthday Jungwon!! (Hands him the macrons and the gift)

Jungwon: Aww you got me presents that's so sweet

Wonyoung: Happy birthday baby (kiss on the cheeks)

Kyujin: Awww unnie you two look so cuteee, i really want niki and i to be like that too... Our kisses are a little awkward :<

Y/N felt her heart drop. Wtf? They had kissed? What?

Wonyoung: Your kisses with niki? What? You guys are in a relationship?

Kyujin: oh yeahhh we have been in a relationship for an entire week now hehe

Wonyoung gave a very questioning glare to Jungwon. They both shipped you two together but he got into a relationship and jungwon didn't even tell wonyoung?

Y/N didn't know what she was more upset about, whether the person she had a crush on got in a relationship with someone else, or whether that she got to know about their relationship from Kyujin rather than Niki... Weren't they friends atleast? Why didn't he tell her? Was this why he was ignoring her since the last week? Will he always be cold towards her now? Maybe it was just her fault to consider someone being simply friendly as a sign that he likes her... He probably just considered her as good friend... she felt her insecurities pop up again. She knew no one had to be blamed and maybe she knew she shouldn't hate kyujin for this. There must have been a reason why niki likes her... She decided to congratulate her because she knew kyujin would atleast treat niki right and niki would be happy...

Y/N: Congratulations Kyujin! You two would be the best looking couple hehe

Kyujin: Hehe thanks Y/N

Wonyoung felt sad because she knew how much Y/N liked niki... She also felt angry at niki but she wanted to focus on Y/N rn. She congratulated kyujin and then she grabbed Y/Ns arm and asked to be excused for a second and dragged her to a corridor.

Wonyoung: Let's go hom-

Y/N: No. It's alright. You should spend time with Jungwon today

Wonyoung: i can spend time with him anyday i know you need me rn-

Y/N: Wonyoung trust me it's good. I had zero hopes towards niki anyway. I'm happy for them.

Wonyoung could see Y/N holding her tears back but she thought maybe she needed time alone. Y/N went home, she tried to not cry because felt pathetic crying over a boy but she still ended up breaking down. Wonyoung called Y/N a few hours later to check if she was alright.

Wonyoung: hey babbeee are you alright? Did you eat something?

Y/N (with a shaky voice due to crying) : oh yeah I'm good. I'll go eat rn...

Wonyoung: did you cry?

Y/N: ...

Wonyoung: Y/N I'll be there in 10 minutes

Y/N: Please no... Let me be alone for a while... Are you still at the hybe building?

Wonyoung: yeah and I'm gonna go and punch that bastard

Y/N: no don't please (ended up crying over phone) it's not his fault... He was just friendly towards me and taking that as a sign that he likes me was entirely my fault, it's not like he cheated on me or something...

Wonyoung: Y/N :(

Wonyoung didn't want to argue with Jungwon on his birthday, but she was really disappointed how jungwon didn't tell her about this. She didn't want to talk about it to niki but she couldn't control all her pent up anger...

Wonyoung: (passive aggressively) It's funny how as soon as you got a girlfriend, you started ignoring Y/N Niki, ffs i really thought you were a sensible kid but it turns out you are just another immature loser

Niki: Um excuse me? I'm not ignoring Y/N, we texted like a week ago? Does she expect me to text her every other day? I got a life beyond her

Wonyoung: And why is it that you didn't tell her about your relationship?

Niki: because that's none of her fucking business??

Wonyoung: I thought you guys were best friends?

Niki: (coldly) She is just another person i hang out with pretty often, you really need to stop meddling with my private life btw noona.

Wonyoung: You know what? Y/N really doged a bullet, you're so fucking annoying and all of a sudden you're literally behaving as if she is nothing to you tchh

Niki felt broken hearted... At this point when wonyoung confronted him, he was sure that you had a little bit of feelings for him and he hurt you. Ego had taken over him because he didn't want to admit that he was in the wrong, but he was still unsure if he liked Y/N. Whatever it was, he should apologise to you for ignoring you and not telling you about kyujin.

Later that day, niki called Y/N

Niki: hey Y/N

Y/N: H.. hi ( her voice cracked?

Niki felt his heart break, the last time he felt this sad was when he saw his friends getting eliminated in iland. He knew you would always greet him with a bright hello and her happiness would literally reach out of the mobile and get transferred to him as well, in all the time he had known Y/N, he never saw her expressing her sadness, she always hid it well... He must have hurt her bad if she was unable to hide the pain this time

Niki: Y/N... How's everything been?

Y/N: oh yeah... Everything's perfect... Wbu

Niki: I miss you... I'm sorry i didn't text you the last week... I just needed some time

Y/N: oh yeah sure it's alright

Awkward silence

Y/N: Anyway i gtg, need to complete my homework

Never had there conversation been so monotonous, they would always end their calls with giggles and laughter... Niki couldn't understand what it was but he felt so hurt, he just sat on his bed staring at y/n's contact again, really wanting to call you but didn't know what to say or do...

Both ended up crying themselves to sleep that night. Y/N was broken hearted. But she didn't break contact with niki because she treasured him too much. She let it be, insecure again.

Niki barely got time now because besides his job now he had a girlfriend. Niki felt depressed bmand constantly tried to mask the unfamiliar feeling of emptiness with flirtatious comments and jokes towards kyujin. Two weeks passed, they barely talked, a few dry texts here and there. Niki decided things couldn't stay like this, so he caed y/n and asked her to hang out once again to the amusement park.

The day at the amusement park was awkward but both felt happy after a long time. They went to the store again where the bought matching earrings.

Niki: oo look, these rings are so pretty...

Y/N: aww yess they are so cutee

Niki and Y/N together: i want them

Both giggled together, both felt their souls finally alive again, hearing the craved giggled of each other after almost a month. They got the matching rings. They went to the children's park later and got ice cream like they used to. both went home with a giddy contentment filling their hearts.

The next day, he had a date with kyujin in a cafe. Kyujin noticed the ring he was wearing.

Kyujin: Aww that's such a pretty ring! Where'd you get it from?

Niki: oh this? Me and Y/N we got matching rings yesterday, it's cute right?

Kyujin: Why did you and Y/N get matching rings? Im your girlfriend?! (Her tone rising)

Niki: Dude chill, it's just a ring...

Kyujin: Exactly?! It's a fucking ring? Why do you and Y/N keep behaving like couples a the time?

Niki: Dude we literally hung out after a month? What do you mean by behaving like a couple?

Kyujin: Don't dude zone me, and take the fucking ring out rn!

Niki: Kyujin... Will you please stop? You are making a scene rn...

Kyujin: no! Not until you remove that ring

Niki: K then, I'm fucking leaving... You got serious anger issues and stop being jealous of Y/N all the goddamn time.

Niki felt guilty and apologised later through text because he didn't want any conflicts but was actually annoyed that she was making a big deal out of a ring.

Niki wasnt enjoying his hang outs with kyujin (couldn't talk about Y/N and Y/N and Niki has talked so much, kyujin barely came up with something that interested him, nothing new, he just missed you) whenever niki couldn't hang out with kyujin she argued, niki was disappointed how she didn't understand his busy schedule even tho both were idols, he expected kyujin to understand him but she was becoming a little too needy and pushy for his liking.

Today was Niki's award show and he was really nervous and excited. Both Y/N and kyujin came to support him (Wonyoung was also going for the award show btw). Enhypen and I've both groups won awards, and so did txt.

Txt sunbaemins were there to support their dongsaeng grp enhypen. They were clicking pictures together. Y/N was in the corner of the room waiting for Niki's conversation to end with his hyungs to congratulate him.

Y/N:(softly) Congratulations for the award Jake, y'all did so good with the performance hehe

Jake: Oh hey Y/N, thanks... it's been so long since I met you. Where have you been?

Y/N: oh just a little busy with school and exams yk

Jake: Exams? Oh wait yeah, you go to school lol...

Sunoo: Hii bestieeee, damn you look so good today... Have you lost weight?

Y/N: A little bit... I wasn't on diet or something tho i just started excercising properly... It's good to have an active lifestyle...

Sunoo: aww that's niceee! Why are you wearing half sleeves tho, it's cold

Y/N: oh yeah... I forgot my jacket at home hehe

Sunoo: Tell me if you feel cold, staff always carry hotpacks for us

Y/N: oh its okay I'm not really cold rn, thank you so much tho

Y/N looked over her shoulder to see Niki was done talking to soobin and kyujin was hugging him tight rn. She felt sad but at the same time happy for them, because she knew kyujin could give niki everything that she couldn't.

Niki looked over towards Y/N and asked kyujin to excuse him for a minute. The taller tapped Y/Ns shoulder. He was really happy rn, they just won an award.

Ni-Ki- Y/nnnnnnnn!! Hiiiiiiiiii! Awww you came to see our performance 🥺🥺🥺🥺, you must have been so busy with your exams already 🥺🥺🥺

Y/N: Ah yeah... Congratulations btw, ya did so good hehe (◕ᴗ◕✿)

Kyujin was slowly feeling her heart break too, she didn't like how niki gave her 🥺🥺 eyes. He didn't give her those eyes anymore, she was jealous, scared, insecure, but most importantly angry. She hated how y/n so easily swept niki off of his feet.

Niki: Omo why are you wearing half sleeves? Aren't you cold?

Y/N: I forgot my jacket at home, i didnt think it would get this cold (awkward smile). I'll go get hotpacks from the staff ig

Niki: oh wait no, here take my coat, you'd look so cute hehe

As niki was about to give Y/N the coat, kyujin came and stood between them.

Kyujin: Niki I'm also cold, i want your coat

Niki knew kyujin was jealous, he thought 'not this bs again'

Niki: Kyujin I'm just giving Y/N a coat, stop being jealous

Kyujin: I'm not jealous, I'm just cold. You should be giving your jacket to me like any other *boyfriend* (emphasizing the word boyfriend)

Niki: Girl you are wearing full sleeves made of thick material, can't you see Y/N is cold? Can't you out your jealousy aside for one fucking minute

Kyujin: She just said she can get the hotpacks!

Y/N was about to go and get the hotpacks but niki just held her by her wrist and made her wear the jacket, he felt Kyujin was being petty. However, kyujin took this incident as niki choosing Y/N over Kyujin. Y/N just felt awkward because wtf was going on between these two bruh. Wonyoung saw all this and grabbed Y/Ns wrist.

Wonyoung: Istg that fucking idiot, why is he being nice to you after he got into a relationship with kyujin

Y/N: i mean, he was just giving me a jacket?

Wonyoung: Y/N i don't fucking care about what he did but don't get your hopes high for him, id advise you to stay away from as much as possible... He's not even a good boyfriend to kyujin

Y/N felt like this was uncalled for, wonyoung didn't need to remind her that Niki could never be hers, she felt her heart break for the nth time and went home trying to supress her sobs.

That very night, kyujin understood there was no point in clinging to Niki. In the past few months, she had noticed how he had changed, how he didn't smile around her as he did around you. She broke up with niki.

The day ended with three broken hearts trying to mask their sadness with smiles and somehow make it through the award ceremony.
