swordfighting, horse riding, archery...you named it, he tried it. books, learning, general intellectual growth...ehh not so much. he had always felt more comfortable playing outside in the snow than staying inside surrounded by books.

a great swordsman and fighter, one of the best in westeros.

he used to be a loud, boisterous kid, the little troublemaker of winterfell. in his early 20′s he was...v likely to be sneaking out of a woman’s room in the middle of the night. sexually promiscuous is putting it lightly.

then he grew up, and he grew up to become the silent, serious, contemplative lord.

now he’s got a pretty strict moral compass, always pushing himself to adhere by strict noble principles of honour.

you know enjolras in les mis? and how like his singular focus in life is revolution? yeah thats ben, except with northern independence.

hates southerners, he thinks that the north has always been so distant, so culturally different from the rest of westeros, that they should once again declare their independence, under his brother, knowing that the people would rally behind his family.

dyanna is the only daughter of the lord of starfall, the only child in her household being her elder brother. lady dayne passed away when dyanna was young, but her loving father and doting brother never let her feel as if something was missing from her life.

feminine as they come, dyanna has always loved embroidery, always had an interest in clothes, and is overall one of the most social girls.

affable and elegant, the second she came of age, suitors started pouring in for the hand of the lady of starfall. Her father rejected all proposition, telling everyone that she was but a child, and it wasn’t her time to wed yet. even when she had become a woman by all standards, he rejected men who pursued her after deeming them unworthy of her hand.  In truth, after the death of his wife, he simply couldn’t bear to part with his only daughter. Dyanna recognised that, but she also know that society mandated she marry at some point and she had never been one to resell against social conventions. With her sweet smile, she convinced her father that no matter where she went or who she wed, she would always remain his daughter, and he wasn’t loosing her.

Ultimately he decided that the ruling lord Tully would be a good match, and sent her to king’s landing with her brother to pay his respects to the new queen and meet her future husband.

Dyanna is charming, easy going and social. She has a calming presence, not someone to pick an argument and always avoiding confrontation. She can also come across as seductive or alluring with her violet eyes and flowing silk dresses from her home in dorne. Someone who’s extremely friendly and makes friends easily. She supports the queen because she’s part dornish and her father supports her, but above anything she just doesn’t want to see another conflict erupt in Westeros.

a wild child since birth

ellyn had a happy childhood to say the least. brought up by loving, doting parents who gave her more freedom than women from noble houses were traditionally allowed

ellyn was a proper tomboy growing up ( not to the extent of like arya but she was definitely on that side of the scale ). she climbed trees, rode horseback, learnt archery and tried to learn sword fighting before giving up on her third lesson (  she finds swords “more show and less action” ( don’t ever ask her to explain that, she’ll launch into an 8 page hypothesis )

she grew out of her tomboy phase to an extent, but remained adventurous in spirit if not in action

she had only visited the north as a child when her father sat her down one day to talk about a possible marriage between her and rickon. he didn’t wish to force anything on her, but he expressed to her that this was his wish. now, ellyn was a highkey daddy’s girl and when her father asked her for something, she couldn’t say no

ellyn hated the bleak & cold of the north initially and it took her some time to adjust, which was parallel to how her initial months in the marriage went. it took time but ellyn and theon eventually went from being strangers who were cold to each other, to the happiest couple you’ll ever meet. and after a while, the cold of the north didn’t bother ellyn so much. they have two sons currently, robb, 4 and jon, 2. with plans for more probably

visenya was born a bastard to the princess of dorne and the prince of the 7 kingdoms. They were young and passionately in love. When her mother realised she was pregnant, the prince begged her to come with him to king’s landing. since he was already betrothed to lady arryn and knew that his family needed the alliance, the honourable prince couldn’t abandon his duty, yet he wanted to be able to provide direct support to the woman he loved and his child.

her mother’s family had been staunchly against her going, not wanting her to be in danger in the capital, they begged her to raise her child in Dorne. She went against her family, and went with the prince regardless.

They were a happy family for a little while, with her father adoring baby visenya, until the prince died. 

the position of the princess and her young daughter was left unsure, but the king was quick to take them under his protection. 

visenya was a bright child, too smart for her own good. her mother found her own political footing at court, while visenya became interested in the workings of government

when her grandfather saw visenya pouring over books until late in the night, taking such an interest in court life, he saw his eldest son in her. 

he decided that just as he had trained his sons, he would train his granddaughter. many believe that this was not due to any potential that he might have seen in her, but a result of the increase in her mother’s power over the court. 

visenya was a diligent student, always hungry to learn, to understand. as she grew older, there was definitely an innate need to find glory in her. inside the walls of the red keep, no one had let her feel the impact of her status as a bastard, out of fear for her mother mostly, but she found out that outside, a different world awaited. 

she wanted to show how capable she could be, but being queen was nowhere near her mind. ambitious, she wanted to serve on her uncle’s small council, be of service to the realm and so she worked hard to show that she was worthy of such a position. 

when her grandfather started facing health problems, she was devastated. he had been her mentor, her role model and the closest thing she had to a father. but before she could even absorb the weight of his loss, the weight of the title was thrust on her.

being queen wasn’t something she had ever wanted or ever dreamed of, simply because it felt too far-fetched. but when offered, she grabbed onto the opportunity.

overnight, she went from being the bastard of the dead prince to the queen of the 7 kingdoms. 

she’s inherited a bit of a mess, enemies in her own family, a rebellion on her hands. but she’s determined to tackle all of it and come out winning. she’s ambitious and resilient and she has something to prove.
