Today was a quilting day at church, and the girls and I got an education. We learned how sewing machines work, and the girls ended up sewing most of the squares for this quilt. Also learned all about tying, batting, and "quilt stretchers." The team made 4 quilts in 3 hours, and will be sending them to earthquake victims in Turkey. The other day I overheard the 6-year-old indignantly shout at one of his sisters, "You are a little pious prancer!" Pretty sure he's used a few of the other ones, too. The Christmas gift that keeps on giving. 🤣

New wall art, just in time for Holy Week!

We failed to intentionally pick up any specific lenten practice or devotional this year, but there has definitely been a theme of “Christ the Lamb of God, for You” enriching and blessing our home life lately, thanks to the talents of a number of people, such as Kelly Schumacher, Rev. Will Weedon, Edward Riojas, and Flame.

We’ve been having lots of great conversations about how Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, and how we receive and worship that Lamb in the Divine Service.

Grateful to be able to receive God’s gifts of forgiveness, life, and salvation through His Word and Sacraments, and also thankful for those who point us toward those gifts in our daily life.

There are never any guarantees that the next year will be any better than the last, but I am heartened by the fact that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. God has given me so much to be thankful for in every day, and I know that won’t change.

Pretty sure the proliferation of awesome Christian content is one of my favorite things about the Internet. These books are both doctrinally rich and a hit in my house.
