Some Lapidot Drinking Headcanons so TW for alcohol and sexual reference. Yes this is for My Bizarre Roommate.

Peridot

She's a lightweight, she's pretty much buzzed at one drink, mainly because for 1. She's little and 2. She doesn't like alcohol all that much, she only likes fruity stuff. She can get pretty bitey when drunk too, basically wanting to bite people and Lapis has to help keep Peridot out of trouble. She'll take Peridot home and basically put her to bed. Though, Peridot can get kind of horny and want to do it with Lapis but Lapis knows it's wrong to do that. So instead she just cuddles with Peridot in which both of them end up sleeping pretty fast. Luckily Peridot doesn't drink often due to sensory issues with alcohol and loud noises from a bar. She can also get paranoid at those kind of occasions. And yes she does get a bad hangover which Lapis helps her with. Also she doesn't drink often is also because she gets carded a lot despite being 24.

Lapis

She's more midweight about her drinking mainly due to her bigger size. She drinks more than Peridot does even though she suffers from similar sensory issues. She luckily doesn't get carded as much as Peridot does even though she's 27. But she'll have a glass of wine every now and then during events and often goes for a more sweeter tasting type. She can hold her alcohol but when she does get drunk, she'll be very sleepy and Peridot has to help her get home before she passes out. But if she does get drunk like that away from home, she only does it within walking distance because Peridot can't drive. Peridot also takes care of Lapis whenever she's like this as sometimes Lapis will start crying in her arms and Peridot comforts her. Hangovers for her aren't bad since she's suffered some bad ones before before she moved in with Peridot.

I have a lot of examples but I want to highlight two;

1- I ship Franky with Robin compared to the more popular Zoro x Robin ship.

2- I ship Amethyst with Peridot compared to the more popular Lapis x Peridot.

1- Franky was the one who told Robin that her existence is not a sin. Franky burned the Pluton blueprint to make sure the Straw Hats can get to Robin. Franky was entrusted by Luffy to get Robin. This might be an anime only thing but when they got on Merry, Franky was the one who caught Robin. In Thriller Bark, Franky was paired with Robin. In Fishman Island, Franky listened to Jimbei's story with Robin. Franky is seen to be beside Robin a LOT. Not to mention they had matching outfits here and there. NOT TO MENTION MENTION, there are lots of Oda's art with them being close together and even one where Robin is holding Franky's face.

DO I think they are canon? ABSOLUTELY NOT! But if one day Oda say that they are canon, I would understand COMPARED TO IF ROBIN IS PAIRED WITH ZORO!!!

I get it. Zoro is "cooler" than Franky. And Robin is pretty. So "it makes sense" to pair them up together but there are no chemistry between them! Robin is an intellectual, Zoro is a fighter. There are more chemistry between Robin and Sanji than there are between Robin and Zoro. But people just want to ship two sexy and attractive people together regardless of their chemistry.

2- I LOVE LAPIS!!! I think she is cool and amazing and as a person with Depression myself, she embodied that feeling so well that I can't help but to empathize with her. BUT!!! Lapis was an abuser. And even as late as Season 5 "Raise the Barn" episode, it seems like she still has that part of her when she screamed at Peridot "Don't be so EMOTIONAL".

Amethyst was the first one of the Crystal Gem to be friendly with Peridot. She enjoys Peridot way of naming things and in return, Peridot finds joy in making Amethyst laugh. The episode even have a typical "anime girl landing on her crush" scene near the end when Peridot saved Amethyst.

Whenever they see each other, Peridot always calls for Amethyst. They are a part of the short squad where they spend time with each other. When Amethyst was feeling down about being poofed by Jasper, Peridot tried to cheer her up, taking her to the Beta kindergarden. And when Peridot was feeling down, Amethyst was the one who cheer her up.

There are so many instances where Amethyst and Peridot is shown to care for each other. I love them so much. But as much as I do, I still think they are at BEST cuddle/kiss couple because BOTH of them don't seem to be interested in "fusion" level of intimacy.

Compared that to Lapis, who is a recovering abuser, I highly doubt that neither Lapis nor Peridot are interested in being in a romantic relationship. They are at BEST platonic roommates and I am here for it!!! It's always weird when people insists on Lapidot being the "better ship" because there is no other reason besides Lapis is "prettier" than Amethyst (I am an Amethyst fan. I think she is absolutely pretty).

"Oh, but Peridot also tries to impress Lapis by giving her gifts and everything." You mean when Lapis was ANGRY to see that one of the person who interrogated her and put her in prison cell on a ship is also the person who she has to share the barn with? I can't see why Peridot tries to make up to her at all. Not to mention that Peridot was FRUSTRATED when Lapis continuosly rejected her approach. Not heart broken, not "small" like she felt with Amethyst. FRUSTRATED.

"Oh, but Peridot was distraught when Lapis left." Oh wow! How could someone get upset when their bestfriend and roomate who they shared their lives together for months left, taking everything with them INCLUDING THEIR HOUSE and all the sentimetal things with them. That can only mean they are romantically involved otherwise, it is normal to just get over it.

At the end of the day, I think the conclusion is PEOPLE DO LOOK AT APPEARANCE!!! Despite both of these medias are made to be consumed and digested easily, people will bend over backwards to justify the "prettier" couple because it's conventional and sexy despite having zero chemistry.

Lapidot's Musical taste

Hii everyone, I've been spending the last few weeks working around some new ideas for my fanfiction and I've got a question for y'all, I wanted to know what kind of music do you all think Lapis and Peridot listen to? I'd be glad if you all could help me out (I have no real music knowledge, so I'm sorry if I say something stupidly wrong or cringeworth).

Well, just so you all know, It's been a whole week now since I started thinking about this and I still can't really wrap my mind on this matter. I was thinking about something Funky or Techno (Like Daft Punk, maybe) for Peri, 'cause you know, all the technology she uses, or like Country, due to the fact that she used to live in the barn. (It's also worth to mention that she was listening to something on that vibe when Lapis left, so...).

But when it comes to Lazuli, I can't really see her interested on any specific kind of music, I thought maybe Blues or some kind of Jazz, but that felt a bit out of character for her. (I mean, she's sad ofc, but Blues is more like the "Smoking on the apartment's window after a hard breakup" kind of music, so not really her type. And Jazz is more of those pesky, smooth talkers that get everyone to do their way, and she isn't particularly smooth either yk ;P). I also tried to work around the idea of her listening to some corny, romantic music, ironically at least, due to the fact that they both used to enjoy Camp Pining Hearts together, but... I also don't really see it.

Things that happen when you try to write about taste when you have none, lol. So... Yeah, if you all could leave here some of your thoughts I'll be glad to listen to you all.

I don't get why lapis x peridot is such a big ship when they had zero chemistry

I think the idea is that they have become besties in the barn, supporting each other while they recover from their Homeworld trauma, mostly Lapis. The two are seen joking with each other, like in Gem Harvest when they are the only ones laughing at Lapis' joke about her traumatic past, so I buy that they're comfortable with each other.

But the thing is, their relationship was actually unhealthy. They were both stagnating in that barn. They had very little hobbies. Peridot was shown walking on eggshells around Lapis, like when she asked Steven to not mention the "J-word" in Beta. And, of course, Raising the Barn showed Lapis regressing immensely under the threat of the Diamonds, not only making the decision to flee from Earth not caring about Peridot's feelings on the matter, but responding to her friend standing up for herself by outright stealing their home with all of their possessions, leaving Peridot behind, with nothing and heartbroken. There is, of course, significance in Lapis taking the symbol of her stagnation with her.

I really thought they'd have more development where they realized that all that time, they only stalled, and didn't actually get to know each other. But no. One "hey" after Lapis out of nowhere crashes the barn on Blue's head, not even the time to talk before Yellow poofs them, and then we skip to the movie where they're besties again. Who cares about all the emotional pain Lapis put Peridot through both at the beginning and the end of their relationship, right? They just made up! Off screen! That's good enough, right?

I get that the finale was rushed to hell, and in the grand scheme of things Lapis and Peridot were not as important as the Diamonds, but as someone who had been the Peridot in a friendship, this genuinely hurt me and it was the #1 reason Lapidot became my NOTP.

In the end, I think Lapidot is yet another case of a super popular ship that benefited from a lack of screentime. We know they lived together, we just didn't get to see much of it, allowing shippers to come up with scenarios where they'd bond. Even though canon proved that they really didn't.

I recommend reading that Reddit thread I linked. I have kept it in my bookmarks ever since Raising the Barn aired because it was like someone fished in my brain and pulled out all of my thoughts about Lapis and Peridot's unhealthy, immature relationship.

Propaganda for Lapidot:

They are roommates that are v close, Peridot is canon aroace and they do break up at one point but they're fine now

Peridot was confirmed to be AroAce, and I personally view Lapis as AroAce as well (specifically Greyromantic and Asexual). A lot of the fandom ships them romantically because they're quite close in the show, literally living together and showing deep care for each other. Peridot even becomes depressed at one point when Lapis ran away out of fear of the diamonds returning. But they're never actually shown to be romantic. And (as I mentioned), Peridot was confirmed to be AroAce. Aromantic people can 100% be in a romantic relationship if they want to, but Peridot doesn't seem like someone interested in actually being in a romantic relationship, she's more interested in observing romantic relationships (one of her special interests is a tv show called Camp Pining Hearts, and she is very into shipping characters in that show). Their relationship just seems much more like a qpr to me!

Propaganda for The Doctor and Jack:

Jack's feelings are canonically romantic and the Doctor's are canonically not. To me, they are so special.

Of course I don't. But the fact that Lapis is a traumatized victim makes it even harder for me to explain why I hate Lapis; the stans think she's justified in her toxic behavior because she was traumatized, and that's not how it works.

Something sweet for My Bizarre Roommate Lapidot

TW for Period/ Menstrual Cycle mentions but that's kind of about it.

Whenever Peridot is on her period she gets really bad cramps. So much so that wearing her leg prosthetic is kind of to much for her on some days due to the pain somewhat reaching the thigh area. She can hop around the house on her singular leg fine normally but when the cramps she don't want to move unless it's to the bathroom. Lapis actually will carry Peridot around sometimes (bridal style btw) because Lapis does understand on how bad periods can be despite not having the female organs(due to Lapis in this AU being trans fem and not wanting to have bottom surgery). She'll even get some of the necessary products for Peridot if Peridot ever so happens to run out of said products during her shark week. And for a slightly chubby woman that doesn't eat much normally, Peridot can get hungry and often has cravings for chocolate(which btw help with periods) and of course some of her favorite foods. Lapis will actually give her some of those and even cook some comfort food for her. Most of the time of that week, usually Peridot just plays video games like Monster Hunter or something along the lines. Even though despite all of this, Peridot thinks it's weird that Lapis even helps her with this stuff and says she can do all of that by herself but Lapis insists.

The most interesting part about this is that all this care from Lapis is actually before they even started dating. Lapis gets even sweeter when they start dating and Peridot is on that time of the month. With of course additional cuddles.

Basically, the joke explains to evolution of callout culture / various "callouts":

"Supernatural-lapidot-in-the-tardis" is someone's username, referencing the fandoms of Supernatural, Doctor Who, and mentioning the ship "Lapidot" (Lapisnx Peridot) from Steven Universe. The last bit of this one is decently self explanatory, but essentially calling someone out over something that's none of the caller's business and having DMs as proof

Sollux/Tooth is probably someone's name/nickname online, with "Sollux" coming from Sollux Captor from Homestuck. They're being called out for being suspected of faking DID, and also doxxing the caller over Saiouma (Shuichi x Kokichi) from Danganronpa.

Sillytism is someone's username, and they used Strawpage (kinda like carrd I think) to send death threats to someone who selfships/yumeships with Goro Akechi from Persona 5.

Not sure what the last part has to do with anything, but "you betta work" is a pun on betta fish :)
