Good morning!

This is the first post we post in our collective blog for the Koneli system.

We are a parogenic system (Born voluntarily by the exercise of tulpamancy) and we use non-standard terminology. Most of our members are fictives of either the host's original stories or the host's fics.

We haven't quite managed to front, but we manage the interaction by eclipsing.

I am the host, my name is JAMS, and my inability to let other people front is because I kinda need to be in control to mask adequatly, as we are autistic as well.

We remember everything I do, but for most of the tulpas it's just informed stuff and not actual memories.

His story was that he saved Chiaki from her execution and lived the events of Danganronpa IF and also saved Class 77 from despair thanks to the Neo World Program. He has his Hajime memories but personally rejects that identity. ---Tsumugi Shirogane (She/her): A Danganronpa fictive straight from Danganronpa V3, after her canon death. ---King Napoleon (He/him): A fictive of my own story: "Mem's Legacy". ---Snow King (He/him): An Adventure Time fictive from my AU "Snow King", where Gunther never became the Ice Thing and, after the comics "Simon and Marcy", Simon put on the rebooted crown and wished to be Ice King but not insane. ---Winter (He/him): A Pokémon fictive, an Iron Bundle who's sophont. ---Showbiz Fredbear (He/him): A FNAF fictive from my own OC Animatronic Models from my own AU. ---Melissa (She/her): An original tulpa, she's a Celesgynoid, a robotic angel. She uses the UTAU voice of Tei Sukone, but nothing else. ---Aventurine (She/her): A fictive of my Steven Universe Lapidot fusion OC. Unfortunately, some of these people might disappear, I'll try to keep them together, but some of them become dormant when I get sick.

i was the author of “Shattered Reflections,” one of the most popular lapidot fanfictions on archiveofourown during the height of the steven universe fandom, around 2015? the shell of that work has been on ao3 all these years but i took the contents down because i was embarrassed, though ive had a backup copy saved on google drive that ive been more than happy to share.

however, someone recently reported that work and it is at risk of being deleted. i have reinstated the contents of the fic but i screenshotted all the comments and stats just in case i lose it :’)

Top 5 of your most shameful ships from your fav pieces of media

oof. The one question that I am still ashamed to answer on main... :P

Well, whatever, I'm a freak. Under the cut to pretend I still have some dignity:

5) Baroryuu (Great Ace Attorney): it got far more popular recently which I'm very grateful for, but I did not forget the sheer vitriol against it and against Barok when the game came out. Sorry if I think their character development is sublime and I got teareyed when Barok started being so nice to Ryuu, saying stuff like "You are a lawyer of boundless talent" and "I believe that you saved my life" :') also I never believed that the 9 year age gap was a big deal? 24 and 33 are both consenting adults, especially in the context of the year 1900 in which the game takes place in. Please don't infantilize Ryuu, I love him just as much as Barok.

4) Jaspis (Steven Universe): says something about me that I despise Lapidot but like this one a lot. Also I can exploit a quirk in the Stevenverse and look for fics tagged Malachite if I want more of their sweet sweet toxic relationship, to avoid all the fluffy stuff I have no interested in :D but yeah, their dynamic was tragically cut short by the story. I loved the reveal that all that time, it was Lapis abusing Jasper, the cute waifish Gem taking all of her anger and resentment against the last person who dared to treat her like an object... and it just so happens that Jasper has such a warped sense of self worth that she liked being abused, and begged Lapis to come back, because she was so enamored with her power (and Malachite's - "we can fly!" aww). This was a kids show!

3) Sagamaji (Yakuza 0): yes, I really looked at that sleazy 50 something old man lording his power over the poor 24 yo who would do anything to protect his kyoudai, and immediately jumped to the most obvious conclusion. I am trash. I also might have felt something other than fear at the scene where Sagawa chokes Majima in the public toilet. But considering that I found dozens upon dozens of fics with the same premise of "Sagawa forces Majima to Do Stuff because he can", I'm glad I'm not alone, at least. I also like Kazumaji quite a lot, one of my favorite Gay Rival ships even, but that one's super duper popular 😂

2) Isaavor (Castlevania): damn you Stabbing scene, you really rearranged my whole braincells. Not that I also don't like Isaactor in its beautiful tragedy, but in this case, I am stuck between the Western fandom who deadass ignores it, except for one (1) fic I stumbled upon in a kink meme page, and the Japanese fandom who adores it but simply because they find both Trevor and Isaac hot. And I get it, I truly do. But... my parallels... my bonding... my sass... there is Something here, I feel it... like yes it's a crack ship and I love joking about Isaac having Thoughts 👀 about that whip (and those tiddies on trevor's chest), but I don't know, I think they have more chemistry than it looks.

Sonegg (Sonic): DeviantART did a number on me when I was 13. Age gap? Who cares! They want to kill each other really badly? Yeah, isn't that very sexy of them <3 there's only so much attitude Sonic can give Eggman before it looks like he wants to get dem eggs for himself. Plus, all the planning that went into analyzing Sonic to create Metal, hmm, Eggy? 👀 much like Isaavor, I'm stuck in this weird place where I recognize it's a crack ship and I mostly joke about it, but also, they're both foils of each other, they're interwoven as archnemesis, they're more similar than they let on... they have chemistry. Not a cute loving chemistry, but who needs it? :P

4. Share a sentence or paragraph from your writing that you’re really proud of (explain why, if you like)

It’s been a long time since I re-read any of my fics, so this is a really tricky one actually!  One thing that immediately comes to mind is this, from my Lapidot Gemlings fic, where Peridot is trying to get baby Larimar to come down from the barn’s ceiling:

Larimar gazed down at Peridot and began to giggle, "Mama Pellydot!  Mama Pellydot!"

"Don't you Mama Pellydot me!  Your weaponised cuteness isn't going to work this time!" the technician called back up to the barn's rafters, allowing herself the smallest of smiles in spite of her stern tone.

It’s just that expression, “weaponised cuteness”, it still makes me smile to this day - I literally laughed out loud when I thought of it, and it was one of those things that everyone kept pointing out at the time and telling me that they loved.

There’s probably something a bit more profound buried somewhere in the archive, but it’s honestly just been too long.

6. What character do you have the most fun writing? 

Probably Peridot, honestly.  It’s always fun to wrap my head around her distinct (and obviously sometimes quite unusual) speech patterns!  She’s just such a good character in general, too; one of my absolute favourites.

Incidentally, I’m in the process of writing a Deltarune fic at the moment, and am having an absolute blast writing Spamton for much the same reasons.

15. Which is harder: titles or summaries (or tags)?

Summaries, absolutely.  There have been a couple of occasions where I’ve been stumped for a title, but generally I find them so much easier than trying to write a summary that’s not too detailed and not too brief.  The Lapidot Discord has come to the rescue a couple of times when I’ve been struggling for titles as well lol

1. What was your first OTP? 

Oh god. Oh God. Don't tell Ruchi, but I was VERY into supernatural in middle school and read a LOT of destiel. After that it was probably johnlock (I was a part of superwholock, pls kill me). And then probably lapidot from Steven Universe? In this fandom - when I was first reading ACOTAR, I was really into the idea of lucien/tamlin/feyre (you can see that in the very first fic in Lucien Has a No Good Very Bad etc etc series). But my love for it kinda died when sjm made tamlin a villain in the next book.

4. What is/are your favorite trope(s)?

Uhhhhh. This isn't a trope, but I like when characters are smart. Like I hate when people are stupid so they make the character they're writing even more stupid. It grinds my gears. So any time a character is smart I instantly fall in love.

I'm a sucker for the "there was only one bed" trope because I like cuddling. I like hurt comfort, possessive characters, the 'who did this to you' moment in enemies to lovers fics. I like when characters explore each others scars. I like when one character is entirely confident and unphased and the other one is trying to match their energy but is FAILING and the first character knows it..... to name a few

19. Do you prefer fluff, angst, or smut for your ships? 

Uhhhhh so fun fact. I hate writing smut. I hate it (you can message me and ask why if you're curious). But I enjoy reading it. I think it's a really good way to cement the intimacy between two characters and show them both at their most vulnerable. So I like reading smut. In regards to angst and fluff, I like them both, but I need them together in a fic. I can't read a fic that's all angst and no comfort fluff. I also can't read something thats all tooth rotting fluff. I crave balance!

Why I Self-Ship with Lapis and Peridot

Before I get into the title of this topic, first I want to say that I ship Lapidot. That’s probably obvious to most of you, but I just want that to be known. Their relationship has been left open for interpretation, and I headcanon that they eventually started a romantic relationship back when they were barn mates, and they got back together after Reunited. This is just my interpretation, and there’s plenty of other valid interpretations.

As for me self-shipping with them, it’s simply an AU where I happen to cross paths with them and eventually we decide to have a polyamorous relationship. In addition to the headcanon I mentioned above, I also headcanon them as either bi or pan, as well as asexual. Again, that’s just my headcanon. Other headcanons are valid like them being lesbian, one or both of them being aromantic, etc. 

Of course not everyone will like my self-shipping for various reasons, which is fine as long as you don’t harass me about it. No one is obligated to read and like my self-ship fics, and if people don’t like my posts of self-ship art that’s definitely okay too. If someone unfollows me because of it, or even blocks me, that’s fine. The point of having a blog is to follow stuff you like or are just okay with seeing even if it doesn’t interest you. Just don’t harass people. 

I self-ship with Lapis and Peridot for fun and comfort. Why exactly Lapis and Peridot is because I relate to them a lot. Obviously they’re very cute and I absolutely adore them, but I also see some of my personality in them. Lapis being shy around new people, not trusting strangers, having PTSD, trying to find her place in the world/universe, etc. Peridot being very focused on particular subjects, learning social skills as she lives on Earth, also finding her place on Earth, etc. I have many characters who give me comfort, but Lapis and Peridot are the two I find most comfort with. I enjoy their presence on screen, and if they were real I would definitely also enjoy their presence. 

Writing and reading my self-ship fics gives me happiness and comfort as I try to find my way through life and handle the fast-paced and chaotic world we live in. I post them here with no expectations that they’ll receive even a single like. However it does make me quite happy seeing people like them, reblogging them, or sending me positive comments about how much they like them. If someone says they get comfort from reading them then there’s a 100% chance that will make my day. 

I have several ideas for more self-ship fics and art, and when I have the motivation and time I’ll make progress on them. I do my best to consider how Lapis and Peridot would interact and handle situations, as well as trying to write an interesting story that’s more than just me snuggling and kissing them (well, sometimes I try to make it about more than just fluff). Most importantly I make sure not to stress about writing since it’s supposed to be fun and give me comfort. My fics definitely aren’t professionally written, but I consider them good which is all that matters to me.

Im just kinda sad its over Also ngl I expected more angst since demons and hell (but I kinda like what we had more- the world is dark enough-) Only gripe is that I never got to see the sorority girls get wrecked And also Im sad I read most of the famous lapidot fics-

MSVLFSKM yeah human and her demon, song of the sea, and things we lost things we gain are kinda my Big Three. i still have no idea how that happened really, i was like 16-17 and just writing about any au that came to mind while also going through a bunch of self discovery.

i wish i have some recs for you, but i genuinely haven't been involved in the steven universe fandom since right after i graduated high school so i have no idea what's big with the lapidot fans these days.

re: your tag comments on shipping dominating fandoms... wow, do I feel this a lot. Sometimes it depends on the fandom bc there are some romantic relationships I dearly love to see content for, but a lot of the time I'm just... what about my platonic and familial fluff fics? ;D; I be goin through the SU AO3 filtering out all the Lapidot and Amedot AUs just to get a crumb of gen fic sometimes even though I have literally nothing against Lapidot and Amedot, ahah

Right? Like don’t get me wrong it’s easier to search for fics on AO3 than it ever was on FFN or most other sites, but AO3 is also so saturated with shipping that it gets a bit tiring sometimes (which isn’t the site’s fault obviously, they don’t control the content, they just tend to attract more shippers it seems). And even finding fics for ships I like that don’t have to warp the characters to get them together, or to get them to fit popular ship tropes that they don’t usually align with, can be its own slog.

At least gen fics seem to be less likely to shove people into a specific relationship archetype because they’re usually exploring ones that already exist. That’s part of what I like about them!

OH GOD ALL-TIME FAVORITE SHIP YOU SAY. YOU KNOW DAMN WELL I CAN’T CHOOSE ONE.

(it’d probably be Stevidot anyway; objectively I’ve done more for it than anything else I ever shipped in my life and it’s absolutely precious both in platonic and romantic forms)

BUT IN THE INTEREST OF FAIRNESS… and attempt to tone down redundancy, let’s see what other ships earned the “OTP” label from me!

I mean, I pretty much had to lowkey ship Mamoru Chiba x Ami Mizuno because Usagi/Mamoru is basically what Connverse wishes it could be as far as the Ultimate Ship goes. So at the height of my involvement in the fandom (you know, late 90s era), I was never brave enough to make anything for this ship. But the few times they get to interact in the classic anime is legit adorable stuff and I wish we could’ve had more of it. 

Before Gem Ascension, before Travels of the Trifecta, my greatest multichaptered epic was a Digimon Tamers fic called By My Decision. I was a hardcore Digimon fan in my early teen years well before I ever got into Pokemon, in fact. And I shipped shitloads of pairings in Adventure and 02 - I can only imagine how many of those would be demonized by the new age fandom puritans of Tumblr nowadays. You can actually see literally everything I ever shipped on my FFN profile here.

But I didn’t really make anything for the first two seasons. Tamers was what really sparked my inspiration, because Takato and Jenrya… honestly, they’re just adorable together. They get to bond a lot, they’re really in touch with their feelings (contrasting to token girl Ruki who was a stiff hardass most of the time), and I often got the impression that Jenrya, unlike Takato, really doesn’t have any other friends. 

So of course, I tormented these two on the regular in my story. I of course didn’t forget Juri (for I love her dearly); I was kinda trying a love triangle subversion with Takato angsting over loving both Jenrya and Juri… while Juri’s still got so much PTSD (story is 2 years post-series), shipping is hardly on her mind, and Jenrya’s outright in denial of his feelings for Takato to the point where it very literally screws him up and awakens some inner darkness of his own. I even had Jenrya and Juri bond, but it was pretty platonic stuff. 

Still, this ship was way down on the totem pole at the height of Tamers’ fandom. Very frustrating. Takato/Ruki and Jenrya/Ruki were way more popular and I hated both of those ships something fierce. I love Ruki, but I just cringe at the idea of shipping her with either of her fellow leads. Then Jenrya/Ryo got something of a cult following that I couldn’t stand; admittedly I was jealous it was getting the representation that I felt Takato/Jenrya desperately needed more, and I also didn’t like Jenryo in its own right, anyway. 

But yeah. Jenkato is a very underappreciated ship that I loved dearly and invested many of my teenage years into.

So, here’s a fun fact: While I played the classic games (my cousins had a Sega Genesis), the way I was mostly raised on Sonic was via the first two cartoon series and the Archie Comics version of the franchise. Archieverse was largely based on the SatAM cartoon; Amy Rose also didn’t exist in the show and it took about 25 issues for her to show up in the comic. 

So I was big on Tails x Amy. For a long-ass time. And really, the ship was really only feasible in the Archie continuity. There, Tails is actually older than his usual depicted canon age and Amy is introduced to be around his age before she artificially aged herself with a magic ring so that she could later take on her Sonic Adventure design. 

Before that… in these years, Sally was the most well-known love interest of Sonic in the west. So Sonic/Sally seemed like a lock (none of us knowing how Sega felt about that at the time) - and in retrospect I honestly believe it’s a far better Sonic ship than his more well-known modern alternatives. 

So, because of Sally’s prominence, Amy was relegated to Sonic’s fangirl and her crush wasn’t really that big a deal. Honestly, that was for the best, as I by far found Amy way more tolerable in Archie’s incarnation than the majority of her other canon contemporaries (Sonic the Comic Amy Rose is more of a competent badass, though).

Tails and Amy had some good banter in Archieverse and the few times they were allowed time to do stuff together as a duo, they were very cute and endearing and I loved them. 

Tails also had a lot more going on in terms of character development and backstory in Archieverse. Like, a lot more going on. He even had a “Chosen One” deal that sadly didn’t have a very good payoff, but. It’s more than what they really do with Tails in any other continuity.

Bear in mind, I started on these comics when I was eight or nine years old. Yet I followed this comic well into my late teens and even part of my early twenties, so you can tell Archieverse Sonic has shitloads of lore to it to have that long of an ongoing narrative. 

After Sonic Adventure was released, then the Sonamy shipping started to explode. Amy was front-and-center in the spotlight, Sally became the obscure figure in the fandom, and it’s more-or-less stayed that way ever since. 

But I was like “It’s okay! Tails and Amy are still tight in Archieverse! Sucks they have to adjust to Sega’s many changes but they’re still best buddies who’ll hopefully get married one day….” 

Then 25 Years Later happened and for some goddamned stupid-ass reason, Tails was paired with Mina the Mongoose and I believe Amy was suspiciously never ever mentioned in the future timeline stories (as Sonic and Sally did become endgame in this little series). 

Tails and Mina had little to no interaction, and Mina was largely there to be a potential Sonic love interest, and even after she moved on, she got together with another character and still didn’t interact with Tails. 

I was sooooooo pissed off. Archieverse was my one hope for Tails/Amy becoming a thing and they ruined it for me. :(

I did get a consolation prize in Geoffrey St. John x Hershey becoming so canon they actually did marry. That’s another one I shipped ever since they first interacted years and years ago.

Of course, Hershey was then “killed off” - and was set for a major comeback, but Ken Penders put a stop to that and had them both erased from reality because fuck Ken Penders, I actually got a nice thing and you yanked it right out of my hands.

Genis Sage x Mithos Yggdrasill from Tales of Symphonia, a ship I hardcore loved enough to write about. Also a ship I think Tumblr would burn me at the stake for shipping at all, but you know what? Fuck Genis x Presea. It’s a boring-ass puppy love ship that in its own right should be lambasted similarly according to anti logic. 

…. did I get sidetracked? I did? Pfff. Okay, let’s try and get to another question.

How I started shipping Stevidot?

Pretty simple story, really. I binged SU all the way up to Escapism (Change Your Mind hadn’t aired yet) last December/January. Also watched a looooot of Youtube clips. Most involving Peridot.

And inevitably, most involving Steven as well. 

When I started getting into Peridot and SU as a whole enough to seek out fanfiction and whatnot, I didn’t really have any set shipping preferences at first. But when I made myself think about it… honestly, Stevidot just felt the most natural to me. I wanted to see stories about antics with those two specifically - I never liked Lapidot and Amedot did nothing for me ever. So Stevidot was like, pretty much the only thing I really focused on after a while.

Then I found A Gem Like You. And suddenly, INSPIRATION! I developed headcanons for Watcher’s fic, I started reading as much Stevidot as I could, and I was convinced it was the best pairing in the world and fucking hell I need to give it some representation after I noticed how relatively niche it was in the fandom. 

And so, Stevidot consumed my soul for all time. I hope those clods are happy.

experimentaldragonfire’s SU Fic Rec List

Stuck at home? Running out of stuff to read? I figured I’d put together a semi-comprehensive series of fanfic recommendations so that all the hours I’ve spent on AO3 over the years can be considered at least vaguely useful. A lot of these are quite old, so if you’ve only read more recent fics, you might find something that you haven’t seen here!

Please feel free to add your own links and recommendations--I personally would love more reading material! This list will focus on SU fics, but I’ll probably make more for other fandoms going forward if anyone’s interested. Bear in mind that, as I’ve mentioned, since many (most) of these were written a while ago, they might not represent exactly how the plot of the show progressed (though they now provide a pretty interesting look at the older fanfic tropes/theories!)

Also, upfront: most of these, when ships do appear, are Lapidot or PearlRose--clearly, I’m very narrowly-focused on what I read. And if one of your fics is on here and you want to be tagged, let me know and I will do so!

Steven Universe Fic Recs

General (None or canonical/background/multiple ships):

histories by avulle (T, F/F, Gen)

“Pearl (pearl) is born in what would have been the year 100,492 BCE. (She is not older than the entire human race—but only just.)”

An introspective look at the Crystal Gems through the years, written in a style that’s practically poetic and absolutely gorgeous.

Inferior Blue by hTeDruknenPotaT (M, Gen)

"Your name is Lapis Lazuli. Lapis is a fun thing to name your child when your last name is Lazuli, and when your name is Lapis Lazuli, blue seem like a nice color to dye your hair. It's fortunate that blue is your favorite color, that you manage not to despise it after all the blue you've been surrounded by all your life."

Lapis Lazuli meets a strange young boy who helps to heal the scars of her past.

The first time I read this fic, I stayed up until 5AM and cried into my pillow through the final chapters. And it continued to make me cry every time I reread it. Massive angst warning, but if you can handle fics that are beautiful but tragic, this is for you.

capacity by broken_halleluiah (G, F/F)

After a routine council meeting, Pink Diamond insists on repairing a broken piece of equipment. The result is far more than she bargained for.

A fic speculating on the nature of Pearls in Homeworld society, written well before we got to see any of that in canon. As such, it isn’t entirely in-line with later canon, but is still entirely worth reading.

Breaking Down by PTlikesTea (M, multi)

Rose's world view is shattered by a black market pearl and the realization that everything she knows about them is wrong.

An extensively long series of shorter mostly-self-contained stories exploring a version of Homeworld society where Pearls are considered as little more than disposable property. Major warnings for Pretty Much Everything--definitely keep an eye on the tags--but this is an iconic series of works, started in 2015 and predating many of the later revelations about canon Homeworld. 

A Gem and Her Pearl (Rose) by Potential Violet (G, gen)

Blue Diamond forces Rose Quartz to get a pearl, changing Rose's life, the pearl's life and the course of Gem history. All relationships begin somewhere, this is the beginning of Rose and Pearl's.

Another take on Rose and Pearl’s meeting, and the status of Pearls in Homeworld society (there’s a bit of a theme here with these recommendations). Again, predates most canon revelations regarding the topics, and predates all of the canon information about the Diamonds.

Pearl, Interrupted by AceyEnn (E, multi)

In August, Steven Quartz Universe was born.

In August, Rose Quartz died in childbirth.

In December, Pearl decides she can't handle any of it.

Or: Pearl Tries To Kill Herself And Ends Up In A Therapy Group Run By Her Best Friend's Mom (Well, One Of Her Moms).

Human AU focusing on Pearl dealing with Rose's death--or rather, not dealing with Rose’s death. Major content warnings for suicide attempts, self-harm, etc (please read the tags), but overall a very well-written story. Still updating, despite being first posted in 2016! 

Lapidot:

in which Peridot is Not At All Surprised by the sudden appearance of a new waiter by gaySpaceRock_exe (G, F/F)

Peridot meets the new waiter at her regular restaurant and immediately falls head-first in love. 

Cute and fluffy, what more do you need in a fic? 

Homesick by DrPaine (G, F/F)

An encounter at the Galaxy Warp.

Short oneshot predating the Peridemption/Barn Arc, can be read as friendship rather than romantic. 

Observation by DrPaine (G, F/F)

Peridot is a technician, meant to catch every detail. Not something she’s very fond of, but making yourself aware of your surroundings can be helpful, when you’re slipping into troublesome thoughts.

Incomplete but very much an introspective look at Peri’s character as perceived back in 2015-ish. Not as much focused on romance as on concepts of identity and anxiety. 

Of Stage Lights and Stage Fright by AcrylicPaint (M, F/F)

All Lapis wanted was to participate in the local production, but there was a minor element she hadn't taken into consideration when she agreed to take the leading role, and that was; dealing with the cute techie's constant staring.

That, and the fact she was beginning to stare too.

Human theatre AU, and an excellent completed multichapter fic. I remember that when I first read this, I was in high school and part of the musical, so it was a very topical read--and now it’s the height of nostalgia. 

No Regrets by Raptor_Red (E, F/F)

No Regrets, or, the story of how Peridot tried to romance the blue-haired tattoo artist from the parlor across the street

A personal favorite! The writing in this fic is just so nice to read, and though I’m not usually a fan of tattoo artist AUs, this one really managed to make the whole concept make sense within the story. I can’t count how many times I’ve read this fic. Please read this.

12 O’Clock at Your Local King Soopers by InsomniacArrest (T, F/F)

Lapis works late night shifts, Peridot is somebody's overworked assistant, they both need more sleep and better people skills: the grocery store story.

Is it a Lapidot fic rec list if I don’t include 12KS? Probably the most iconic fic for this pairing, with good reason. Also, consider this a recommendation for literally everything IA has ever written--there are too many good fics to name them all individually, otherwise they’d comprise half of this entire list.

Of Meteors and Minimal Speech by Waypaststrange (moonbeatblues)(F/F)

In which things at the barn settle down, nobody speaks much, and strange lights appear in the sky.

Vaguely fluffy oneshot, very cute!!

Awkward Office Encounters by SilverEyedRukia (T, F/F) 

Due to a broken down air conditioner on a scorching hot day the computers' overheated systems need fixing. Luckily for everyone a blonde technician is up for the job, but unbeknowst to them the IT nerd turns out to be someone they didn't expect her to be, especially not Lapis who kind of asked her out on a date already.

Human workplace AU, starts off relatively comedic but gets into Emotional Territory towards the end.

Camp Pining Hearts by kamanzi (M, F/F)

Peridot and Jasper return to summer camp after their freshmen year of college--this time, as counselors. Peridot is disappointed to learn that nothing is quite the same, especially her relationship with her best friend. Whose fault is this? She blames Jasper's girlfriend.

“‘Let’s go back next year and be counselors,’ she said. ‘It’ll be fun,’ she said.”

Human summer camp counselors AU that’s definitely long enough to use up some stuck-at-home-self-isolating time.

A Week by teamchaosprez  (E, F/F)

Who knew that a single night of drunken sex could push Peridot and Lapis from being roommates with a mutual crush to regularly fucking and maybe - just maybe - eventually becoming girlfriends and standing up to the homophobia surrounding both of their family lives.

A human college AU focusing a lot on working through interpersonal relationships and coming to terms with emotions

Set Me Free by cym70 (T, F/F) 

Being roommates gives Lapis and Peridot a lot of time to get to know each other and, despite their rocky history, they might just be able to make something entirely new.

A friends-to-lovers fic, post-Barn Mates. Very sweet!

Waltz of the Nian by QuickYoke (T, F/F)

Lapis doesn't understand fusion at heart, but she does know she's an unideal partner for it.

 Lapis' relationship with fusion, and also Peridot. A fic that basically encapsulates the ideal of profound prose that makes you feel things, even if you don’t precisely know how or why.

Pushing by Like Hearts by mautadite (T, F/F)

“Sounds like you’re really counting on that road trip magic.”

(Peridot and Lapis do Midway City, and Empire City, and Plateau Ville, and all the places in between.)

Canonverse road trip, because every rec list needs a “the characters go on a long journey together and find themselves, and each other” fic. And because this fic made me feel so many emotions.

A thousand years (F/F)

I have died a thousand years, waiting for you.

 Childhood friends-to-adult-lovers human AU, one of the fic tropes that always just punches me in the face with feelings.

1.) What is your favorite problematic theme/trope that appears in a lot of your ships?

Age gap and power imbalance abuse :) the power imbalance creates interesting dynamics and conflicts, and the age gap... well it's just sexy :P

2.) Are there any problematic tropes that squick you out?

Incest, especially if depicted as wholesome or hot. This kind of alienates me from the proship community because incest is super popular (obviously, this is where the shippers flock) and I'm here like, good for you, but no thank you get it out of my sight 😂

3.) First problematic ship since you joined the proship community?

Sonegg? I don't consider myself a member of the proship community, but it was my very first "what is wrong with me" ship lol

4.) First ever problematic ship? (you didn't have to know it was problematic then)

See above. I knew it was "wrong", but hey, I've always been a weirdo.

5.) Ship you don't think it all that problematic, but the rest of your fandom hates?

... see above 😂 Sonegg is super tame compared to some of the other stuff I'm into, and I don't even feel the age gap in their case.

Oh, and Baroryuu, of course. I mean, it has some problematic aspects (Barok's very offensive comments towards Ryuu for a good chunk of his screentime), but I still think the character development of the two is strong enough to make them cute by the end.

6.) Cutest, most vanilla ship you are into.

Sonamy. They're adorable, and that's all they need to be. Even if I disagree with some of the popular takes :P Knuxamy to a lesser extent, I don't know if people have a problem with it... if only because it's a rarepair fhdufhdskj. but they cute too. power duo :D

And of course, Hectaly, who are 100% canon and wholesome and 💖

7.) Ship the antis in your fandom like, but you think is hella problematic?

uhhhhhh well I have many fandoms. I haven't bitched about fan-favorite Lapidot in years, so I might as well now: I relate too much with Peridot having to bend herself backwards to not upset Lapis, only to see herself abandoned by her best friend in a traumatic way, to think of them as wholesome when Lapis didn't even apologize for fleeing like she did.

8.) Ship that is (presented as) cute in canon/fanon, but you think is problematic anyway.

Lenector, as I have extensively explained by now :) and Lapidot as above. Catradora too, even if I'm not super into She-Ra - Catra's abuse of Adora is too extensive to be brushed aside in the last season alone.

13.) Rec a dead dove fic!

I mentioned a dark Lenector fic in the second ask I linked. Here it is <3 It's Hector suffering from severe PTSD and disassociation as Lenore keeps using him as a sex slave. This is the stuff I love, a mind scarred by trauma, even if the ending is not what I hoped for. (also "evil Lenore"? please this is her canon behavior)
