Okay wtf is wrong with people, reporting Lara of Katseye to ICE is just on a whole other level of racism. Now I'm american so I understand people are probably like "well you can't speak on racism" or whatever but like, I'm calling it how I see it. She was literally BORN IN AMERICA??? I have several problems and I am addressing none of them

ngl i hate how people will not consider that there is a difference between "woman is written in a misogynistic way" and "woman experiences misogyny in the narrative and it informs her character and her actions"

like is she cheerfully accepting the role of "the mom friend" who must be an overflowing fountain of generosity that her friends are putting onto her, or are we seeing her feel resentful or being crushed under the weight of that responsibility?

does she genuinely not have agency, or does she feel like she can't ever put her foot down because she's been punished for doing so in the past? do we see anything that would suggest this?

does she not express herself because her problems are genuinely insignificant, or do we see what actually happens when she's been swallowing down grief, anger, and sadness for so long in order to minimize herself?

is she falling into the trope of being the "hysterical, irrational woman" for no reason, or has she reached the end of her rope and behaving in a way that a human does when they are pushed to their limit?

like some of this will come down to interpretation, and sometimes it can be a mix of both misogynistic writing and writing misogyny, but other times it is just blatantly staring people in the face and people will be like "oh no she's written bad. anyways, we will ignore this and not explore her character any further" and it is annoying lol.

Okay, so this issue kinda implies that the other kriptonians have escaped in the spacecraft Lara and Jor-el build (they didn't show us, so not sure yet). And because both Martha and Lara say the same thing ("sweet angel boy"), this makes us assume that Martha is, in fact, Lara. The Kent family is a disguise for House of El.

But why is Martha so old when Kal looks so young?

My guess is that the spacecraft needed pilots while the rest of the refugees (who were majoritarily farmers) were put in some kind of cryosleep. And since they were the only ones who build it and knew how to pilot, the job couldn't be done by anyone else. So they stayed awake, making sure they would arrive in a planet where they could live.

I'm finally back after like 8 months yay!

planning on starting over (not deleting my old work tho) during the summer after my work is done - hopefully I'll start it off with a bang and post a longer fic, around 10-20k. I already have some things in mind but I'm curious as to if you all have any requests or ideas? feel free to ask! it will probably be an enhypen or katseye fic (most likely enhypen!)

I definitely like Moira Kelly's take on Donna Hayward more than I like Lara Flynn Boyle's.

Moira seemed to approach the character with more of an innocence and nativity than Lara did. There were moments in the show that I think you were supposed to feel more for Donna, but Lara's interpretation of the character didn't quite hit it.

I think had Moira been in the show with the way she played it, I certainly would of had much more sympathy for Donna at times. Especially something like when she is talking to Laura's grave.
