windclan!mapleshade au

i had a dream where mapleshade joined windclan so

so mapleshade is aware of how dangerous crossing the river with her 3 young kits is. she knows she cant go to riverclan for obvious reasons; or back to thunderclan. shes also unnerved about shadowclan, knowing their cynical nature and hostility would do her no good. she ends up going through the gathering place to windclan. she meets a patrol and is brought to the camp. there, she meets the leader, the deputy, and larkwing the medicine cat. larkwing immediately asks the leader and deputy to let mapleshade and her 3 kits stay. larkwing reminds the two of how the clans drove away skyclan generations ago but let birdflight and her two young kits stay- so why shouldnt they let mapleshade and her three young kits in? the leader then inquires about why mapleshade and her three young kittens were exiled. she tells the truth, but larkwing still stands by her eventually, the leader allows mapleshade to join, unwilling to face starclan's wrath for turning away a queen and kits

kind of wild that she trained in the df. two of her aunts died in the great battle, and not to mention Antpelt's death, and the fact one of said aunts was close to Antpelt. litterally what a time to be a windclan cat

in Crowfeather's trial, her parents glare at her, but she's seen working with her grandma Gorsetail a few times. Gorse doesn't like the df trainees, so i wonder what they're relationship was like. she was still an apprentice in the last hope, so she would have been made a warrior right after. so she's was pretty young for all that. it's a shame we'll never get to know more about her family's dynamic

i appreciate that she has no cannon mate. she's doing her part to not have so much inbreeding in the clans 💪💪. i like to think they're from a half clan relationship, cause i'm a sucker for anyone in Gorsetail's linage having one.

There’s not enough “heavily implied to have an outside parent” or orphan kits for the family tree imo. Plus it’s a cool backstory

the only recent cat with this is maybe larkwing from wc. back in the of arc cats like swiftpaw are fatherless bastards. we need more of those

Gorsetail of Windclan and her Riverclan mate Beechfur, then their kits Thistleheart, Sedgewhisker, and Swallowtail. Sedgewhisker and Emberfoot became mates and had Larkwing and Featherpelt. Featherpelt and Oatclaw are mates and their kits are Flutterfoot, Songleap, and Whistlepaw.
