3. What was their initial impression of the four claimants? How did this change over the course of the story?

wuk lamat: cori thought she was very sweet, and appreciated that she could find the bright side or the fun in everything they did, but they also thought she was a bit misguided and naive. they weren't particularly interested in helping her at the start, but after meeting the others it was clear that wuk lamat was something of the best option. but after everything, cori is really proud of the way wuk lamat has grown into a good leader, and they were really proud watching her interact with the people she leads and learn about what they need. i think they're pretty good friends now--i wouldn't say family quite yet, but they care a lot about each other.

koana: i think cori was excited to meet another mch outside of ishgard at first, but was wary of all the changes he wanted to bring to Tural without any kind of consideration for the wants/needs of the people there. and their excitement was quickly tempered by the way he seemed a bit closed off at the start. as he let his guard down and cori saw how much he really cared about his sister and the people of Tural, he started to grow on them.

bakool ja ja: they thought he was a bully who had to be stopped, and then they thought he was worse than a bully but genuinely terrible for letting valigarmanda loose. they didn't forgive him immediately upon learning of his situation, although they understood his reasoning, but he proved himself by helping out in the later attack on Tulliyolal, so cori isn't holding his previous actions against him. but he owes them tacos.

zoraal ja: based on krile's bad vibes vision, cori knew that he was a terrible choice to lead, and it was only made worse by hearing him speak of the plan himself. this is the main reason she decided to help wuk lamat, because he couldn't be allowed to put his plan into action (cori wondered why he was even allowed to compete! since he made no secret of his plans!). her opinion of him didn't get any better as things went on, though she did feel a little bad for him in the end.

18. What important relationships changed or developed throughout Dawntrail?

aside from now considering wuk lamat and koana friends, cori and erenville are a lot closer! they already had bonded some, since cori spent a lot of time in labyrinthos while she was in old sharlayan. but the trip to shaaloani really solidified their friendship, and they were able to bond about leaving home (and talk about how the circumstances of this, including their mothers' involvement, were very opposite!). cori is excited to hopefully learn more about from and see more of shaloani with him soon!

19. What was their favorite location in Tural?

tbh i think cori loved Tuliyollal the best! They really love a port city, even with all the people there, but there was just so much to see and do. and the food is really good! outside of the city though, i think they liked xak tural best--near the water on one side, the blue forest on the other, just very pretty and feeling like two different sides of the homes she's come from!

22. What are they doing now?

Cori did not hang around long in Tuliyollal after arriving back, despite how much they like it there! They're helping Y'shtola in her preparations for studying the gateway, and in their downtime they've taken to completing gathering requests for people who need things but aren't equipped (or don't want to lol) to go out and do it themself. It's a nice, lower pressure way for them to get to see all of Tural, and still gives them a reason to come back to Tuliyollal to pick up more! I also think this is when they help Shunye and Uvlo out as well

4. Do they have a canon mount or minion? What's its name(s)?

yes! kit, her company chocobo and the chocobo haurchefant gifted her, which she named crighton! both are named after the protagonists from one of her favorite romance novels. as for minions....i've always towed around with the idea of leida picking up a pet of some sort in her travels, but seeing as i have pretty much exclusively used the haurchefant and ardbert minions in game.....it just hasn't happened lol. i do sort of feel like her carbuncle fills this role in some way, as she definitely takes to talking to it a lot in her early summoning days and forms a strong attachment lol.

14. Of the Scions, who are they most worried for?

hmm. this is hard, as she worries deeply for thancred pre-shb, but i want to say at the end of the day, it will always be the twins. i mean, leida cares for them so much. she considers them her family and is fiercely protective of them as such, which is in part due to their age but also in the way they take in the world with such open hearts. they've been through far more than anyone their ages should have to, and she does worry that one day they may break.

21. Are there any raid storylines (Ivalice, Coil of Bahamut, Werlyt, etc.) you consider to be canon for your WoL? Which ones don't you consider canon? 

oof this is a tough one to answer on account of me not having completed all these myself lmao. BUT. i know for sure i don't count the nier raids as canon. as for the rest (with the exception of maybe void ark and alexander? i don't really see leida involving herself in those ones tbh. and possibly pandaemonium? i desperately need to play through those still to get a better idea.) it's probably safe to assume they are canon.

what’s in avi’s bag?

Items he’s in immediate need of or things that he needs to watch closely are kept in his personal bag.

Personal traveling essentials (canteen, back up canteen, rations, emergency flare, compass, etc)

Maps (both treasure and local maps)

Journal - he takes field notes for Erenville, especially regarding nocturnal life of whatever area they’re in

Weapons ! - He travels with his Skyruin Cleavers, Lunar Envoy Tathlums, and the nouliths he made out of silverware

A Hinganshi paper lantern - this is the lantern Piera, Avi’s voidsent avatar, sleeps in when she’s not fully corporeal or imitating a weapon

Small sack of gil

what does he keep in otes’s chocobo saddlebags?

Items needed for long travels, but don’t necessarily need to be readily available, are kept in Otes’s saddlebags.

Bedding and tent supplies

Treats and food for Otes and Mamemaru - the food is for emergencies or for days they can’t hunt

First aid kit - includes numbing ointment for his hands

Stationary - Avi’li is trying to get better at sending letters to distant friends and family on the regular

One or two books to stave off boredom

Two more sets of clothes

Climbing gear

Slightly bigger sack of gil

Extremely basic cooking gear - a single pot, salt, stackable bowls

Mending gear for clothes, boots, saddles, etc

what does he keep in his second bag aka what does erenville carry for him because he forgets?

Avi’li is an experienced traveler so he’s mostly prepared, however he and Erenville have different experiences and priorities when it comes to packing for the road.

Traveling first aid kit - sure Avi’li has his nouliths, but nothing beats a kit in the field in Erenville’s opinion

Flashlight - not everyone has night vision !

Firestarter kit - not everyone can breathe fire !

Mostly Erenville is carrying his own things though, but they share their canteens and rations if the other needs it

pre-relationship 5: What would their lives be like if they had never met?

For Cori at least, meeting Shtola set them in such a specific direction! If they never met her, they wouldn't have joined the Scions, and like, everything that came with being part of the Scions wouldn't have happened. Cori might have left the Arcanist's guild after a while and gone off traveling, in search of ways to help and continue their studies, but I don't think it would have been as fulfilling for them as working with the Scions has been. And if Shtola hadn't met Cori...well i think knowing them has made her more hopeful, more optimistic, and more willing to believe relationships are worth the effort. Her life might not be that much different without Cori, assuming someone finds another WoL, but she'd be lacking that relationship with someone who can keep up with her, can challenge her and respect her and have a feeling of real equality between them. And maybe she would notice! Also she would definitely not eat as well as she does with Cori around.

general 12: Do they hide anything from each other, big or small?

Shtola doesn't really hide anything from Cori (i mean, since they got together and she doesn't have to hide her feelings anymore 😌). she's just very big on having all the facts out there, and to her I think that's always the best place to start from. Cori definitely has a tendency to try to hide her negative feelings--grief, pain, any kind of upset--not just from Shtola but from everyone. She's working on it though 😔

definitely Shtola is the one to convince Cori. Cori is trying to get up and get their day started, maybe make breakfast before they go. Shtola wants another hour of cuddles, and will act if she senses any weakness. Cori is very weak and it does not take a lot of convincing 😌
