6. Favorite character you’ve written?

It's cat!Tatiana from Dies Irae! Unironically my favorite "original character" ;)

As for "canon" character incarnations, I tend to like all versions of berlermo I've played with! But my favorite incarnation was probably sniper!Martin from Sometimes I just wanna quit (tell my life I’m done with it). I really enjoyed writing his character arc from childhood to adulthood, including how he lost and found himself (twice!). He's the "cruelest" Martin I've written on the surface, but actually the kindest one underneath. Favorite Andres is the necromancer (for the same reasons!), and I love all my Sergios equally.

26. What’s the most research you’ve ever put into a book?

LOL This one is a bit of tie... I went on google incognito to "research" the layout of sex doll websites for Is this allowed? and their purpose in general.

The other one I did the "most" research for was in Licking Wounds, so I could gauge how bad Andres' injuries were, what he'd need surgery for, and how long recovery would take/what recovery would entail. I don't know if it was entirely accurate but I tried my best not to make too inaccurate.

31. Top five favorite books in your genre?

Another tough answer! There’s definitely more than 5 lcdp fics (including non-berlermo!) that’d I recommend heartily, so to keep it fair, I’ll take this as top 5 favorite published books (in no order) in the “dark” genre.

Liaozhai Ziyi / Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio 

R.L Stine’s Goosebumps series (I wouldn’t call this grand literature in any sense LOL but as a kid, I really loved these stories- they were fun, campy, easy to read, and just scary enough without being too much or too little to handle)

54. Favorite first line/opening you’ve written?

haha, you’ve found my weak spot! I find these hardest to write, and I usually just treat them as an obligation to the get the story started asdaf I’m rarely happy with my own opening lines. 

If I had to pick, my favorite first line is from Blood and Bones:

Pop! The cap sprung off. He lifted the bottle to his lips. And the stale taste of alcohol spilled down his throat.

My favorite opening would probably be the intro to I’d rather be dry:

He tasted blood, dragged back to consciousness by the spike of iron on his tongue. Sergio blinked away the fog in his brain, his vision returning in pieces of black and gray. As the world fell back into place, so did the sensation of steel under his back and the sound of rain on metal, an almost hypnotic drumming against his ears. Then the alarming smell of burnt tires. Smoking rubber.

Or the intro to  Sometimes I just wanna quit:

Martín was an orphan. No family. No history. A blank slate from start to finish. At least, that was what he heard. Galvez always said it with praise, as if coming from nothing was something Martín should be proud of. And maybe he should be.
