Synopsis: JJ and Josh spend time together at an apple orchard. :)

There was a bite to the new autumn air, cool, frigid, the kind of wind that leaves your nose pink and runny. The seasons were in the midst of their yearly tradition and fall was making its distinct appearance. The sun, however, was none the wiser to the changing times and still shone brightly as it hung against a clear blue hue.

The breeze against your face and the sunshine over your cheeks was a magnificent feeling.

There you sat on a rickety old bench in the middle of an apple farm, overlooking the vast expanse of leafy little trees with an abundance of pinkish-red apples, resting heavily on their measly branches.

You adored people watching, not necessarily in a judgmental way. No, not at all. You loved to admire people going about their activities, you observed them in all their docile glory.

So there you were observing the groups of people wading their way through the lines of fruit trees with baskets resting on their hips.

One particular family peaked your interest, a father had hoisted his toddler girl onto his shoulders and she giggled as she stretched to reach the highest apples on the branches, plucking them off their stems and depositing them into the basket her mother held beside her. Beautiful grins graced their faces. And perhaps it was the hormones, or the empathy, or both, that had you cooing at their lovely interaction.

Simultaneously, you rubbed the swell of your bump, very prominent now that you were nearing the end of your time pregnant.

You closed your eyes and you could imagine it, the picturesque scene; you, Josh and your daughter in your arms swaying around a little farm, casually partaking in the fall festivities.

“What are you thinking about my love?”

You jumped a little in your seat, your partner stood there, a small amused smirk on his face, the result of knowing he unintentionally startled you.

“M’sorry mama, I didn’t mean to make you jump,” he spoke through tiny giggles.

“May I join you, JJ?” he asked, head titling towards the empty space on the bench next to you.

“Of course you can, you don’t have to ask, dear.”

“Okay mama.”

His smile was evident from the dimples he wore on his cheeks. You watched as he sat himself beside you and hugged you close across your shoulders. He looked absolutely cozy in his khakis and patterned pullover, the fleece brushing against your face as you laid your head against his collarbone.

He was the cutest thing in your eyes, and you already knew that your baby would be born with a mop of fluffy curls, the both of you having sported natural hair like that all your lives.

You sighed deeply nudging your nose against his jaw and he obliged you by planting a sweet, tender kiss to your lips. The domesticity of it all had you swooning.

He stared at you with so much heart and happiness, you felt like you could melt under his gaze.

“You’re so beautiful JJ, sometimes I wish I was invisible so I could photograph you in your most closed moments.”

His eyes drooped as he spoke, like he was sick with love for you. And you felt it in his touch, his embrace and his kind words.

Without hesitation he pulled you in again for another kiss, longer than the first but still tame, you two were in public after all. And while you had never been a fan of PDA, you couldn’t help yourself when you were with Josh.

Pulling away the both of you had giddy grins plastered on your faces, and your gaze looked to his left hand where he held a cardboard tray with a glistening caramel apple placed delicately on the square of parchment paper underneath. With a coy smile on your face you looked back at Josh, your expression mimicking that of a child pleading their mother for candy before bedtime.

“Is that for me?” you asked teasingly.

He laughed then, his accent clearly noticeable.

“Of course it is mama!”

He pulled his arm off your frame and turned to face you completely on the bench as you did the same, legs tucked underneath you both in almost a half criss cross position.

Lifting the apple off the tray by its stick, he carefully brought it to your lips prompting you to take a bite, and with one hand resting on your baby bump and the other encircling his wrist, that’s exactly what you had done. You took a comically large bite out of it, he pulled the dessert away from you and giggled as he swiped some caramel off of your lips with his thumb.

“How does my girl like it?” he asked, before taking a bite of it himself.

You nodded your approval, your mouth still full of the decadent dessert.

And there the both of you sat, munching on a shared caramel apple and exchanging potential baby names for your soon to be born.

“How about Rhiannon?” he suggested, licking the caramel off his fingertips as he rested the empty stick back in the tray.

You chuckled, of course he would’ve suggested that.

“What…it’s a cute name, JJ," he replied defending himself through a blushy smile.

“It’s eccentric, I’ll give you that," you replied.

“Think about it, our daughter is supposed to be born on Halloween, and it’s such a great song, obviously, and the tale of the Welsh witch is a remarkable one at that.” He went on explaining why it was the perfect name.

You paused staring to the side for a moment, pondering it.

It was a nice name, a beautiful one.

And you couldn’t deny how cool it would be to name your little one after a witchy rock song. Incredibly fitting considering your partners occupation and love for all things music.

Turning to face your lover again, Josh gave you an expectant stare, waiting silently for your answer.

“Yea, no, I actually really dig that,” you replied, grinning at him.

He beamed pulling you in for a quick hug before bestowing your forehead a kiss.

He rested his hand on your belly and caressed the bump over your sweater. He gazed lovingly at it.

He bent down just a tad, and spoke directly to the baby.

“Mama and I cant wait to meet you, my spooky little girl.”

— So you'll always catch yourself holding Newt's hand

— When you're alone and or with other people Newt trusts, you will be gifted to see their eyes. Purple and bright. It's a big honour when they're open

— With Newt's job, they are always exhausted and you'll normally be called to pick them up because they fainted from overusage of their vision

— But hugs with Newt are always warm and fuzzy. Their ears will tickle your cheek as their tail will wrap around you protectivly
