I'm talking about changing the settings in the computer. As a lefty I've known how to change this setting since I was like 8.

These are the default settings of the mouse

Left click as it's colloquial known, is the primary button you click with your pointer finger. It's the button you use the most so it's best to be able to use your primary finger for it. The "right click" aka the secondary button, can be operated by your middle or ring finger as it's less used and does not require as much constant dexterity.

When you try to use a computer mouse with your left hand and the settings are still the default, this forces the middle or ring finger to operate the primary button and the pointer finger left only operating the secondary button. That slows a person down considerably and causes a bigger margin for error.

If you think it's not hard to operate it that way, try setting your mouse up for lefties and run it with your right hand.

I've watched many IT people lose their shit and give up using my mouse bc they couldn't handle adapting that way, and instead resorted to telling me what they wanted to do step by step, bc THAT was easier than operating my mouse.

Many lefties without the knowledge or permission to change these settings, or the ambidextrous who can do without, simply give up and operate as a right handed person.

Those of us lucky enough to be able to alter the settings, still have to suffer through instructions made without us in mind.

Without further context, if "right click" or "left click" is mentioned, we have to mentally translate it.

"right click" = "secondary button" = the left button on MY mouse

"Left click = "primary button" = the right button on MY mouse

Having to translate this for years, I struggle to tell which button physically is the left one and which is the right, irrespective of their functions.

Also, most of the time ads are on the right, and I rarely hit them by accident, so at least we got that going for us.

is it selfish if I find the new Tumblr web layout harder to use as a right-handed person? To have to reach allll the way up to the left corner to refresh my dash???? seems. not ideal.

I sure do wish the tumblr app ui didnt make it so easily to accidentally send my friends posts!! I appreciate the hold down for fast actions feature on the icons, but it shouldnt be so easy trigger them on accident

So for anyone who's not aware, Tumblr recently changed the Tumblr Live to snooze from 10 to 30 days. Which is great, but of course, even though it's supposed to snooze, the button's still there on the bottom of the screen... which obviously goes completely against what a snooze button is actually supposed to do. It's literally worthless.

Who wants to bet this was actually an intentional move on @staff 's end? This isn't a simple glitch. It's the same goddamn thing when they tried to switch the store and blog buttons around only to reverse it when they rightfully got a severe amount of backlash. Except this is worse considering you could "supposedly" turn it off, except you can't. 😤

I'm seriously thinking of making the switch to Pillowfort at this point. The site definitely has its own issues and is literally still in BETA since several years ago, but seeing the direction Tumblr is going, it's really starting to become more appealing.

I don't understand why we can't keep things the way they are. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, goddammit. 😮‍💨

How about thinking about that in conjunction with Riku's wrist injury from fighting Roxas.
