The 1988 Jaleco arcade game Legend of Makai (魔界伝説) is very similar in gameplay to the NES game Wizards & Warriors. It's one of the weirdest arcade games I've ever played and I absolutely love it. I'll definitely do a review of it someday. Video: Endgame screenshots / Music: Wizard

How about the Creator from the first SaGa games?
The Creator has a Ryu Number of 2/does not have a Ryu Number.
(clarification below)
Just gonna make it clear upfront: I know close to nothing about any SaGa game, which would naturally include the first three that were rechristened as Final Fantasy Legend in the West, so take everything after this with however many grains of salt you deem appropriate.
The first route of 2 posits that the bosses based on the Four Symbols are actually the Four Symbols themselves, which is a slightly tricky thing to assert given some of the liberties the first SaGa games takes, like making Byakko (or Byak-Ko, as it was localized) a tiger centaur thing oppressive ruler and such.
I've chosen Seiryu here as the one that's probably the closest to the norm, but there's definitely room to disagree.
If you don't count the Four Symbol analogues, though, then it seems to be slim pickings. Ashura gets you to the other early SaGa games, but I'm even less inclined to count the likes of Apollo and Isis. The DS remake of SaGa 2 does have characters named after the nine Greek muses, but those seem to be in-name-only kind of deal.
There are also doesn't seem to be any eligible connections between those SaGa games and the Romancing SaGa games, which could maybe get you to Final Fantasy via Dimensions, maybe? (Which, incidentally, also has characters based on the Four Symbols since it's pretty well-established the extent to which FF treats mythologies like free real estate. Here's their Seiryu.)

The main takeaway is that if there are any SaGaheads hashing this out elsewhere, you should probably listen to them.

Last fanart from the inspiration cycle. Since Genocyber didn't deserve one, I just made a second piece for Urotsukidōji, specifically episode 2 of the original OVA with Amano Jyaku in the 1920's and Suikakujū, the champion of the demon world.
Funny how all of the anime I watched ended up with the main character achieving some kind of godhood/demonhood and in three of those the apocalypse also happens (or we skip to the post apocalyptic times) in the end.
If I had to rank them it would be Urotsukidōji > Bio Hunter > Ankoku Shinwa > Genocyber.
Drawn on 23-26.07.24.

Modern skyline in the logo, Japanese title approximately means Capital City Beyond Compare...
What are we thinking?
Old Hell redevelopment plan?
It's an Animal spirit yakuza conspiracy?
Field trip to [Tokyo and/or Kyoto and/or ???]
Lunar Capital redevelopment plan?
That metropolis hidden under Youkai Mountain that got mentioned in a databook once and then seemingly scrubbed from canon (and was only an in-universe rumour to begin with)?
Finally going back to Pandemonium's part of Makai?
Something else entirely?
There's already theories going around about the Lunar Capital based on some dialogue from Living Ghost and the plot blurb, and also that it's themed magic rocks again like in Urban Legend, but I just can't get past how distinctly modern skyscraper some of those logo silhouettes are...

whb ch1 ramble (not analysis)
this concept is so metal though... setting them free is a very neat idea.

I have read fictional works where a descendant of Solomon had the power to back the political status of the demon he liked the most before- such as Makai Ouji: Devils and realist, whose main focus puts the descendant of Solomon besides demons such as Dantalian, Sitri and Camio.
In that work, William (as the descendant) helped many demons come to terms with their past traumas- some accrued during their tumultulous time serving Solomon-and in a sense assisted them through many trials and tribulations, and compelled them through the power of his ring, though he preferred treating said demons as just "regular guys" (which is so funny).
So it's cool seeing another work that also brings an interesting perspective to Solomon's 72 pillars and their hardships, helping them to find peace alongside the descendent- whilst also helping them to settle their complex feelings for their time with the original Solomon.
But this concept of freeing the demons from their bindings to restore their true power is truly unique. Most fictional works that I have read tend to bind the demon into a form of obedience or slavery, not set them free and restore them to their past glory.
Also in the legends of Solomon that I've read, there are demons who objected to being bound and some who obeyed without question; and some occult blogs detail very negative experiences of binding demons to their bidding as well (the occult blogs can be argued to be non fictional spiritual experiences.)
So in regards to this, although it seems in WHB the demons all loved Solomon and seemed to not dislike being bound, I wonder if they also have complex feelings regarding being bound to him for so long.
.... So seeing a story where the demons are set free and then elected in the aftermath is kinda bittersweet. Like relinquishing the grieving chains of the past, but also a form of letting go- of saying a final farewell to their ephemeral time with Solomon.
#Personal#the dank archives#rambles#whb#reminds me of when in fruits basket the souls of the animals and their link to God is finally *spoilers*....#not a factual post just my opinions

Do vampires in Guilty Gear possibly have alternate forms or /true/ forms? Happy Chaos' statement on demihumans or vampires are more than meets the eye or what we see of them. In essence, does Slayer have a true form we don't know about?
Downconversion of Demihumans is a complicated topic, and one GG hasn’t entirely opened the book on in terms of knowledge on the subject.
Supposedly many Vampires come from a place called the “Makai” or “Demon Realm”, but it’s difficult to say if it has anything to do with this world or even the Backyard in the first place.
At first it was suspected that the Makai was just one of many “layers” of the Backyard, as if it was a complex dimensional Onion.
But given Chaos’ theories on Demihumans, it’s likely they exist on an entire separate theoretical plane of existence before approaching the same level of meager existence as us humans.
Even Gears are something of an “indestructible object” that isn’t entirely influenced by Backyard information.
Of course some Gears can even “transform”, so in that sense they are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg that Demihumans actually are!
Still, it is worth pointing out the strong connection Demihumans have with the concepts of “Legends”: Urban Myths, Folklore, Unsolved Mysteries, the Occult, Esoteric items, etc.
Many Youkai are born from the Mythology that Humans tell: their Fears, their Beliefs, even very strong Sentiments and Emotions.
You could say that the Backyard has a strong influence on Human Thoughts, enough to generate these worlds, simply because Humans believe they exist!
I-No and Happy Chaos are proof enough of this, as is Izuna.
Even if we don’t currently know as much about Vampires, even a reasonable assumption about them is a strong influence on their existence.

So, this my first ever post in the DMC fandom. I binged the Netflix anime when it released and uh.... I've got really mixed feelings. A lot of them. I'm not really gonna analyse the show too deeply - I feel others have done it better - I'm just airing out my thoughts.
Short version: The animation was amazing - Studio Mir did a phenomenal job. I'm happy to see the characters after so long. Is it a good anime? Yea, you could say that. Is it a good DMC anime? Not really.
Long version: Honestly, it felt like they wanted to tell an original story than a DMC story. Episode 1 started out good, so I guess I was hopeful for the rest of the show. Then my expectations were squashed. Though I'm all up for adding new information about the Underworld, this was not it. What the heck is Makai? The idea they were going for is not bad necessarily, it just didn't feel completely right.
I didn't mind having Johnny Yong Bosch voice Dante, especially with what I heard about Reuben Langdon. He was really adorable thoughout the show plus I loved the way he reacted to the information that Vergil was still alive. These boys deserve happiness. I would've preferred his DT activating by him getting stabbed by Rebellion.
I was looking forward to Lady in the show, and they, to put it politely, did her character a disservice. I am so sorry, Lady. Her backstory here was not as good as DMC 3's, in my opinion. Admittedly, Lady was incredibly distrusting of Dante throughout DMC 3; I can accept that in the show - I just feel that they overdid it that I was left feeling irritated.
Also, did they really have to make swear her everytime she opened her mouth? I got flashbacks to Netflix Castlevania where, as much I liked the show, everyone seemed overly fond of the F-word that I couldn't take them seriously. As that one alternate Invincible, Omni-Mark, said: "Swearing doesn't make you cool." Basically, the point I want to stress is that swearing is fine until it gets excessive that it loses its impact.
SPARDA. Why are they doing this to demon dad? Why are they painting him in the wrong for sealing away Hell? I got so excited seeing him on-screen. I got so upset when Dante had no idea he was half-demon; genuinely could not stand how they changed it so that Sparda was not around at all when it's been confirmed that he was. Lady's delivery of the "Legend of Sparda" was terrible, too. It's frankly the most crucial piece of lore in the franchise, and it was delivered poorly. They could've had White Rabbit do it instead.
Speaking of White Rabbit - I enjoyed him. Sure, they technically turned him into an original character. Yes, he is everything they did different and wrong for the show. And yet, it's those reasons why I enjoyed him so much: he could've worked in an entirely different story. Credit to the animators and Hoon Lee for bringing this character to life.
Anyone feel like they had Lucia make a cameo and called it a day? With Arius showing up at the end, I suppose they'll make her relevant for S2, but she was practically wasted here.
I realised later that the route they went for Vergil was retconned lore from DMC 1. Dan Southworth not voicing him felt like a crime, and the Bury The Light reference was not subtle at all, but I'll forgive those because it's Vergil. As for him serving Mundus, I really hope my boy is brainwashed or has his own agenda that he's hiding from Mundus. What is confusing with them going this route is that he hasn't gone to Fortuna to, y'know, make Nero. My biggest wish for the show was to have Vergil meeting the Lady in Red.
All in all, I still like the show, and I wouldn't mind rewatching it. If this is someone's first exposure to Devil May Cry, and they loved it, I'm happy for them. Honestly, the animation carried it for me. I kept staying for the credits just to hear Devils Never Cry. Weirdly enough, it felt like Lady and White Rabbit were given more focus than Dante. With S2 announced, I'm worried. I guess I'm just tired of the whole "Humans Are The Real Monsters" thing. A core theme of the franchise is humanity; it's why Sparda rebelled. Just... just dial back on the cynicism, please.

Extras - The Extreme Path Omake
Omake, meaning bonus! Some translation notes, name meanings, references, and stuff for The Extreme Path. If there's anything I haven't covered you're curious about, lemme know and I'll add it onto this baby! :D
NAME MEANINGS:
Morimoto (森本) - mori (森) means "forest", while moto (本) means "origin", making the surname loosely mean "from the forest". Perfect for a family of woodland critters!
Shigeru (茂) - means "lush" or "luxuriant", which seems right for a fancy bon vivant like Spy. I'll be honest though I didn't even occur to me until the day of writing (9/11/24) that Morimoto Shigeru sounds kinda like Miyamoto Shigeru (yanno the Mario guy) and I promise you that was an accident.
Yoko (洋子) - yo (洋) means "ocean" and ko (子) means "child".
Kenji (堅志) - ken (堅) means "firm, tough, or strict", and ji () means "purpose or ambition".
Yamabane (山羽) - yama (山) means "mountain" and hane (羽) means "feather". (Hane is pronounced bane when it's added onto a compound word, going from an unvoiced to a voiced syllable.)
Kazuhiro (一浩) - kazu (一) means "one", or in this case "a certain person", and hiro (浩) means "prosperous"
Yamamori (山森) - means "mountain forest", which also combines the first characters of Yoko and Kazhuro's surnames!
Henrik Koopman - Henrik means "home ruler", and wasn't picked for its meaning so much as I liked the sound of it. Koopman however means "merchant". Career-appropriate nomenclature!
Umino Himeko - (海野 姫子) - Umi (海) means "ocean", no (野) means "field, or area", hime (姫) means "princess", and ko (子) means "child". So when Henrik calls Himeko "princess" he's not just being a sweetie, he's also using a pet name based on her actual name.
Henri Renard - Henri, Spy took in honour of his late husband, as Henri is the Francophile form of Henrik. Renard is French for "fox".
Makai (魔界) - means "evil world" or "demon world", and comes from Buddhism. Per Wikipedia: "...it is the opposite of the Buddha world, and can refer to the four heavens above desire. The synonym Makyo (魔境, 魔境) is sometimes used to mean a mysterious and frightening place or a place that tempts people, such as a red-light district. ... As a metaphor, the Makai is sometimes used to refer to a place where legends about vengeful spirits, monsters, sorcery, etc. remain. ... In fantasy and legend-based fiction, it is often depicted as another world inhabited by demons, monsters, etc." Traditionally Yakuza families are named for their founding patriarch, so who knows if this family breaks the trend, or if a youkai who took the surname Makai was its founder way back when?
Yakuza (ヤクザ) - literally means "eight, nine, three", which is the worst hand one can get in the card game Oicho-Kabu, which works a lot like Baccarat. (I love it it's a lot of fun.) Much of the yakuza originally started as illegal gambling dens, hence a losing hand like that might end up with you oweing the crime family who runs the joint a LOT of money.
The Extreme Path - Yakuza typically don't call themselves "yakuza". They refer to themselves and what they do as "gokudo" (極道), meaning "the extreme path". If you note, Spy, being an ex-yakuza (though never banished nor actually expelled from the family so technically he still is one as far as the family's concerned) calls it that when he's speaking Japanese.
Aniki (兄貴) - means "older brother". The yakuza use familiar terms for one another. For the sake of the reader this and kyodai were the only ones I didn't translate, since the vibe is very different between how yakuza use those words and how civilians use them. Typically a yakuza will refer to a member of their family who is senior to them as Aniki as a title of respect, assuming they don't have a title within the family. You wouldn't call the captain Aniki, you'd call him captain (Kashira), for example.
Kyodai (兄弟) - means "brother" or "sibling", and typically is not used to address a person directly. Unless you're yakuza and they're your sworn brother. Also used to refer as a group to the upper level yakuza in a family. The "made men" to put it in mafia terms.
Patriarch - Localized from Oyabun (親分) meaning "adoptive father" and Oyaji (親父) meaning "father (informal, masculine)", used to refer to the head of a yakuza family.
Captain - Localized from waka-gashira (若頭), literally meaning "junior head". The second-in-command of a yakuza family, tasked with carrying out the oyabun's wishes. When addressed, it's usually as Kashira or [Name]-gashira.
Lieutenant - Localized from shatei-gashira (舎弟頭) literally meaning "younger brother head", the guy in charge of the boys directly, basically.
-han - In Kansai-ben, the dialect of Japanese spoken in the Kansai region, which is where Osaka is, the suffix -san is often said as -han instead. If you notice, while the Morimoto triplets and the yakuza speak Kansai-ben, which I wrote with a rougher tone (true to its cultural perception as being super informal and almost a lil rude), Kazuhiro and Sniper speak standard Japanese, hence they both use -san when appending that suffix onto people's names.
NAME REFERENCES:
Nagoshi - Named for Nagoshi Toshihiro, who is the creator of the Ryu Ga Gotoku game series, known in the west as Yakuza and Like A Dragon (they've been rebranding recently, "Ryu Ga Gotoku" means "Like A Dragon" so they're just kinda making the names uniform), which I am obsessed with, and actively inspired SO MUCH of this story, particularly the entry set in the lead-up to the Boshin War, "Ryu Ga Gotoku: Ishin! Kiwami", the remake of which finally came to English and sparked the brainworms that became this story, lol. So you can blame him for all of this, basically. I've wanted to set a story with Spy in Japan for literal years, but Ishin! made me pull the trigger.
Ugaki Goro - Ugaki comes from Ugaki Hidenari, the voice actor of Majima Goro, from the Ryu Ga Gotoku series. Majima's absolutely my blorbo so I had to make the reference. Also, honestly, the way I describe Ugaki Goro ended up looking a little teeny bit like Ugaki Hidenari by accident. Wonder if he's a voice-acting kawauso!
Daito Shigeki - Daito comes from Daito Shunsuke, voice actor of Baba Shigeki from RGG 5, a character with conflicting loyalties! Daito Shigeki's weren't so conflicted, turns out.
Sawamura Kazuma - Sawamura comes from Sawamura Haruka, precious adoptive daughter of Kiryu Kazuma, the main character of the RGG series and good good boy who I love so much.
Kanda - Named for one of the skeeziest motherfuckers in the RGG series, Kanda Tsuyoshi.
Ugaki Rie - Rie comes from Kugimiya Rie, voice actor of Sawamura Haruka.
Kasuga Akira - Kasuga comes from Kasuga Ichiban, main character of RGG 7 and 8 and good good boy, and Akira comes from Nishikiyama Akira, villain of RGG 1 and sworn brother of Kiryu Kazuma, and fallen good boy. Ichiban and Nishiki are voiced by the same actor, Nakaya Kazuhiro.
Kuroda Akio - Kuroda comes from Kuroda Takaya, voice actor of Kiryu Kazuma. Akio comes from Outsuka Akio, voice actor of Adachi Kouichi from RGG 7 and 8, one of my favourite characters, as well as Isami Kondo in RGG Ishin! Kiwami.
FLOWER MEANINGS:
Asters - Rememberance, I won't forget you
Spider Lilies - Death, never seeing someone again, abandonment
Lavender - Faithfulness, loyalty

World Building pt 1 - Realms
Within the various medias, we see evidence of at least four separate realms within YYH. Given the description of Reikai is often that of a nexus between various planes of existence, I don't think it's far fetched to think there could be others between just humans and demons. The headcanon I'm expanding is the existence of five primary realms, with Reikai in the center.
Reikai - Spirit World
— This is the central realm to all others. It is through Reikai that the other worlds can be accessed. Reikai's primary function is that of a convergence point between realms and the arbiter of dead souls. Reikai is home to portals to the other realms as well as access to the multitude of afterlives, all guided by the Sanzu no Kawa. Reikai has been ruled by Great King Enma for centuries, a spirit on par with a god who has authority over the Gate of Judgement. His rule was most recently brought to an end by his son Koenma after evidence of his misdeeds were brought to the surface. Reikai is a realm beyond just the palace and the Gate of Judgement, home to a variety of spirits, including shinigami and ogres.
Ningenkai - Human World
— Earth, the natural realm of humans as the dominant conscious beings. Reikai has long since stood as 'protector' of the human world, however the truth of Enma's corruption suggests otherwise. The humans are considered the weakest of the realm's creatures. Once, the border between Ningenkai and Makai was open and demons and humans coexisted in the early days of existence. Since the border was closed by Enma, humans have lost much of their spiritual awareness and have since forgotten about their connection, regarding the past as nothing but myths and legends. While modern humans still have spiritual energies, it remains dormant in most people. Some are born with the ability to perceive the unseen worlds or even utilize this power as a psychic. Others can have their senses awoken through exposure.
Makai - Demon World
— The natural realm for demons. There are many different subspecies of demons, conscious beings that utilize yoki in place of reiki. Demons, while still having organs and biological functions, are powered by the energy within their 'core', a separate organ that houses their ki and the source of their individual abilities. All demons share some mutual traits such as enhanced healing, the existence of a core and yoki, however the expression of these powers vary from species to species. They once coincided with Ningenkai but after the border was closed, they were forced to live under Reikai's distant observation. Some species of Makai exist in isolation however the bulk of Makai is separated into three regions, each ruled by a separate King. This was changed in the aftermath of Raizen's, King of Tourin, death. The new rule of Makai is decided by tournament, suggested by Yusuke as Raizen's heir.
Meikai - Nether Realm
— This realm was known for housing dark, malevolent gods and demons. It was once ruled over by Yakumo before a battle between him and Enma over control of Ningenkai ended in Yakumo's defeat. Enma condensed all of the power of the Nether Realm into a Power Sphere as he was unable to content with the power on his own. The residents of Meikai were sealed away in empty space. However Yakumo was able to break free of the seal and sought out the Power Sphere to restore his world and take control over Ningenkai. He was defeated by Team Urameshi and is presumed dead, the power sphere was destroyed in the battle.
Tenkai - Takamagahara - Celestial Realm
— In the early days of humans, the gods helped shape and govern the living worlds. However when the border between realms was closed and the humans began to move away from their beliefs and need for the gods, they decided to retire to their own realm. The Celestial Realm is a closed realm where gods and high spirits reside. It's believed to house the powers to create worlds and life itself. There hasn't been contact with them in centuries as they seem disinterested in the lands of mortals. Some wonder if this is where Enma will retire to.
#i dont speak jp but i wanted to keep the naming conventions for Celest so i included the name from mythology and w/e i came up with#i will always lament that yyh doesnt have a whole lot of worldbuilding esp r/ikai#❀࿐ a memory can make a flower bloom ( headcanons. )

Fairness Fleeting
Drawing inspiration from some things said in the games, and expending upon them, something I've established is that there's a certain point where a fairy... stops being a fairy. Through great changes in power, thoughts, emotion, and outside influences, a fairy can become something else. To date, no fairy on this blog has ever truly made the switch, but as some of you well know... some are near the threshold.
Salty Bones:
A well-known presence on the blog at this point, over the years since her suffering at the hands of the Saltwell Youkai, she's had time to establish her character as an anomaly. To some, she's just strange, to many, she's creepy, and to those who know best... an abomination.
Salty is at the tipping point. Though little affects her, just the right influence will either push her hard towards her old self, or over the edge into becoming something other than a fairy. What she would become is hard to say. Possibly she even may become a saltwell youkai as well... or play host to the old one.
Salty is the closest to the edge, but she's by no means the only one drawing near.
Eliza Nevermore:
Eliza, along with all the other basement maids, aren't very fairy-like. Their violent, taboo-obsessed culture born out of trying to survive and entertain Flandre Scarlet before she started to get out more has twisted them. Right down to their bodies, which often have sharper teeth, sharper nails, faster reflexes, and a very strange metabolism.
Eliza herself, being born of the basement's darkness itself and having known no ordinary life as a fairy, is the furthest along. Along the way she draws the other basement maids along, until they're all closer to becoming something different. A new breed, fairies that are unlike their contemporaries, and redefining themselves in the dark. In time, it will be up to Flandre Scarlet to guide them back towards normality... or push them over the edge.
Daisy Spore:
Fairies aren't supposed to live in constant fear. They aren't supposed to be shunned by their fellows and other species alike. They aren't supposed to believe something like innocence or kindness are fleeting, if not lies altogether. No fairy should be like Daisy Spore.
True, it's uncertain where her future will end. Maybe she'll become a youkai? Maybe she'll just wither away and nature will 'try again' and make a newer, unscathed fungus fairy? Whatever the case, this fairy of an important aspect of decay is slowly heading towards the tipping point, and becoming all the more volatile with time.
B████ █h████:
████ █████████ if anyone █████████ ███. ███ ████ ███ ███ ████ ████ ██ ████ ██████ ███████ Fairy. █████ ███ █████████ ██ ██ Miasma ██ Makai, ███ ██████ ██████ ██ ████ ██ ███ surface. ███ ██ ███ ████, ██████ ███ █████ ███ ██ ██ ███ ███ ███ children.
██ ████ █████ ███'█ ████████ more demon ████ fairy... ██'█ ████ ██ ███ ██ █████'█ █████ ████ ███ ███ ████████ ██ ███ ███████. Only time will tell...
Summer Melon:
Where other fairies have been driven by emotional turmoil or an outside power, Summer has abandoned most of her sense of self. Every day, between cleaning tasks and cracking jokes, she refines her art. Every night, through a fairy ring, she builds a legend. With the broken blade, she aims to create something that, if somehow slipped though the cracks in the defence, may even strike down a goddess of hell.
█████ █████, Summer ████ ████ █ ████ ██ ███ ███████ █████ ████████ ███ ██████. ██████ a mother, ██████ ██ ███ ███ ████ █████ ███ ████████ ███ ██████. ███ ███ ██ ███████, ██ ████████████ ██ ███████, but she does this anyways. Even if she no longer remembers why.
Rosemary Pines:
Grief, rage, hatred, loss, an all-consuming sense of hopelessness and helplessness. Cherry has a strong heart, and for a fairy a strong body, but... even a mountain will be worn down by the wind. To her it feels like everything is going wrong. Like the whole world is conspiring to rip away all she ever loved. She tries to get by with meditation, exercise, jokes, and burying the past.
But she's slipping, day by day, towards that line. She'll never ask for help, she'll try to make others forget as well, she'll do everything in her power to distract herself from all that pain. But this coniferous tree fairy, a fairy of old growth, may one day face the flame.
And the ones who are to blame are already long gone, out of reach. Beyond punishment and beyond any form of restitution. In their place, innocents who wear the same faces, guiltless, faultless...
But if they cross that line, will they even care anymore?

When your team is fucking weirdos, hated by the fandoms, with half of them involved in gay drama and you're just trying to stay in your lane...
Aka my collection of problematic Metafaves
I thought about actually drawing them all, but i dont think i would ever manage...
Legend under the Cut (links to character pages provided, open at own risk for spoilers)

Enoch (Metatron) from El Shaddai Ascencion of the Metatron (both video game and tie in Mangas, the game is fucking underappreciated!)
Metatron from Dogma (he is sarcastic baby)
Metatron from Good Omens (TV Series) (innocent until proven guilty, the book one looked kinda like #15)
Metatron from Supernatural (unfortunately proven guilty, because they copied #9's homework)
Metatron from 7 Heavenly Virtues Anime ("Nanatsu no Bitoku" kinda NSFW, big tiddy anime )
Metatron from Shin Megami Tensei video game series (obligatory, cause first mayor video game appearance)
Metatron (Enoch, Sean Christian) from Devils and Realists Manga ( "Makai Ouji" sad little meow meow, reminder to always read job descriptions )
Metatron from Omniscient Readers Viewpoint Webnovel (I have not collected enough spoons to read all of it)
Metatron (Enoch) from His Dark Materials Novels (+TV) (If you think his ego is big, you should see his dick. He's thinking with it. )
Metatron from Dear Door Webtoon Manhwa (Yeah... I'm not gonna link this one. The story and art is amazing, but there is also so much gore and even more hardcore gay sex in like every single chapter. Google it and read it yourself, but... Dead Dove, do not eat - unless you're into that or are a fast scroller )
Metatron from Spawn Comic Series (She's so pretty, and the Spawn comics are just visually cool)
Metatron (one of several forms) from the Puzzle&Dragon Games (They are so pretty... acursed Gatcha games!)
Metatron from Angel Sanctuary (nostalgia, he did nothing wrong, baby with evil twin)
Metatron from Dating Game Miraclr (He has red hair and his Storyline is... just Metatron, just Metatron...)
Metatron ( Eternity (Earth-TRN781) ) from the Marvel Comics (Obligatory cause marvel is everywhere and I put the Spawn one)
Im aware there's some more in various other gatcha games but those usually dont have any story to them... and the other animes, im not yet familar with (or role is too minor)...
Collection is still open if anyone has some Metatron's to drop off...
Honorary Mention:

Saw someone else doing this, so let’s give it a go. You can still request a specific face in asks, but since asks are a dying breed these days, I’ll be running a series of polls where you can pick a face and I’ll find a character to draw it with. (Could be a blorbo, could be an OC, I’ll choose it based on how I’m feeling, just give me an excuse to draw. ^-^)

If you do it through asks, you can request a character, too, if you want, but I won’t take ask requests for characters that are:
From a fandom I’m not in. (I will list my fandoms at the bottom of this post, though I may forget some)
Anthro characters or animals (furries on the level of like…Nekos and stuff are acceptable, but nothing beyond that, as I suck at them lol)
For some reason too uncomfortable for me, for any reason — whether it’s a character I’m not comfy drawing with a certain expression, or just a character I dislike too much to draw, etc.
Please bear in mind that the level of effort I will put into each post will vary based on the difficulty involved in making it and the energy I have at the time of doing it — it could be anything from a rough sketch to a fully colored and shaded piece, or anywhere else in between.
Also, all of my art will be my regular anime style if the characters are normally more realistic in proportions or other styles that are too hard for me to replicate, so bear that in mind.
HAVE FUN REQUESTING!
My fandoms:
Five Nights at Freddy's, Bungou Stray Dogs, Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel, Legend of Zelda, Ace Attorney, Doctor Who, Final Fantasy, Xenoblade Chronicles, Pokèmon, Persona, Super Mario, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, Pikmin, Person of Interest, Code Vein, Fringe, Nier Replicant/Automata, Stargate, The Blacklist, Andromeda (the TV series from 2000), Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, Diabolik Lovers, Makai Ouji, and probably many more I’m forgetting and will kick myself for not listing later.

Mystic Quest Origin - Final Fantasy Legend III
An important point to consider in the release of the original Final Fantasy in the west is that it was published not by Square themselves, but by Nintendo. It was a strong success and in order to capitalise on that, Square themselves released Makai Toushi Saga for the Game Boy in America, and changed the name to The Final Fantasy Legend. It could be assumed that the smaller scope of this game…
