Their new Espresso-Tea-Maker. Wait, what? That's not what it said on the tin!
Tumblr media
No one was more surprised than the new state-of-the-art coffee machine itself when it simply prepared the perfect cup of tea for its new owner called “Angel”. Obviously it wasn’t built to make six shots of espresso all at once for the "Dearest" one either, and yet... Needless to say that neither option was actually in the manual.
Please excuse this silly little random Good Omens LEGO one shot, brought to you by 'ineffably-queer-book-lover was recently asked to create a LEGO MOC of an espresso machine as a wedding gift'.
Apparently the happy couple (enthusiastic LEGO fans) in question was getting a certain kind of espresso machine (not a coffee machine, as I learned) as a wedding gift and their friends thought it would be fun to include a little LEGO miniature. So, yeah, I built them a MOC as close to the real deal as I could manage.
That got me thinking of Aziraphale and Crowley (a surprise to exactly no one) and what shenanigans they would get up to if someone gifted them a coffee or espresso maker. Obviously I couldn't resist to build a nice new sleek state-of-the-art machine for our ineffable duo and get them some appropriate cups!
Bonus 1: Cut scene (sort of) that actually shows Aziraphale's custom-made tea in his cup:
Tumblr media
Bonus 2: The MOC as shown here if you want to build it yourself (most parts are original LEGO or at least available from LEGO in similar colors; the connector rings obviously aren't, but it would work without them if you attach the handles the other way round or just use simple 1x1 round plates for a coffee machine instead of an espresso maker). If you only want to use the smaller cups (for espresso, you know?), just leave out the 1x2 plate in the back:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You're welcome to build it yourself! 🤗 I tried to use very common parts, so it can be recreated in various colors, too (the one for the wedding was bright red)! 🤗 ☕ 🍵 ☕ 🍵 ☕ 🍵
Tagging the usual crowd with the customary addendum to please let me know if you want to be added to or removed from the list! 😘

Rememeber When I posted that moc lego Omega I made in a 3d program? Well I actually made another one.
Tumblr media
Metal Overlord
I didn't just make this, I actually made it right after I made the Omega moc but uh... this kinda looks like shit ngl. I thought it looked cool when I did it but looking back at it I did a horrible job on a lot of things here. Anyways I started working on Gamma but I haven't made much progress yet.
I'm not making a tutorial for this it's like over a thousand pieces

Overheated
Tumblr media
There once was a black vintage Bentley, It was rocking, starting out gently. The windows steamed up, Till the see-sawing stopped And the coach turned red incidentally!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
@ineffablyruined Here you go with my contribution for this week's prompt "Overheated". Not sure if my tagging didn't work properly last week, but just in case, here is the link to the contribution for the prompt Whisper again. Enjoy! 😊
Some credit and annotations for my LEGO Bentley behind the "Keep reading" link...
Well, my version of Crowley's LEGO Bentley has been a work in progress for quite some time and I am still occasionally changing things around with custom (non-original LEGO) parts, so this whole beautiful car is a mixture of LEGO, COBI and GOBRICKS parts by now.
I started out with a wonderful MOC by Lego Ankh-Morpork from Rebrickable. Sadly the page seems to have been deleted by now, but I think/hope, that this Kofi page with the instructions is in fact the original creator's shop! I don't know for sure, though.
Anyway, since I am open to use parts from other brands, too, I started changing things around to my liking with pieces that aren't available from LEGO (or at least not in the necessary colors). For example, I really love these (smaller, better fitting and looking) wheels from COBI.
At a guess, there's less than half of the original instructions left in this Bentley by now, but I still want to give credit to Ankh-Morpork for the original tutorial.
The license plates are also custom printed by Briquestore. Their prints are great, especially if you need light colors printed on dark LEGO pieces. Highly recommended!
NEW MOC ALERT - Type Axiom - Unit BloodCross
Type Axiom is the fruit of combining key ideas from Type Abysuss (cone shaped arms and head design) and Type Astro (chest cockpit and knee systems). On top of that, a new ankle design is implemented by simulating human body. After all, I want to design mecha that has limits of movement just like human.
I am really inspired by a mecha art created by Marcin Rubinkowski. The beautiful design has a very strong use of white and red with black as decorative colour, which resonates an atmosphere of mechanistic religion in the future.
Back to the articulation. The shoulders are re constructed to coordinate with the scale of the updated backpack design, which is fully built in instead of the attaching system. By doing so, the entire body looks more completely and human.
Last but not least, the midsection. It took me a while to figure out the balance between flexibility and decent scale. The outcome is flexible but not as bendable as really spine, otherwise, the mech would not stand very well.
Overall, I am very happy about Type Axiom. It is getting closer to my idea of what a good looking and playable size Lego mech would look like.
What is your thoughts about it? Leave your comments and check out the artist’s works for great mecha inspiration!
Design notes I made + Tutorial
Tumblr media
I analyzed a blank figurine/template and sketch out basic shapes: square for head, rectangle for neck, waist and legs, and trapezoid for torso
Arms come in four parts: rounder triangle for shoulder/biceps, curvy rectangle for lower arms, square for wrists, and crescents for hands
After sketching I go back in and add curves to the corner of the head to make it more close to a real figurine, and combine all the pieces into one form
USE REFERENCES!!!!
Ex. I used the actual Kimono Woman to sketch a design for Odie's own formal gown
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. For Hair analyze the shape of a hair piece. What do they remind you of?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The one on the right looks more rounder so your "hair piece" should have a circular base. The one on the right looks boxy so a square/rectangle is your best bet. It doesn't have to look detailed. Since Odette has two main hairstyle I used both pieces as references.
They also have the shade of brown I always picture her to have!
6. Again always have a ref on hand for faces. You can combine features to customize!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Odette has thin eyebrows like the figure on the left, and the lips and eye shapes of the right. She doesn't have the mole and her skin color is much darker (which is what I use standard dollmakers for).
That's about all I have for now. I'll be making a separate post on clothing designs and decals. I hope this provides useful tips for anyone who wishes to make their own Ninjago OC!
