Aot boys' reaction learning you're injured pt.1
With: Levi, Erwin and Reiner
Part 2 here with Armin, Jean and Bertholdt
Warning: mention of injuries, fluffy
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Levi
Levi will keep an unbothered and calm façade as he always does but secretly will absolutely PANIC.
Are you okay? Will you survive? How? When? Why? All those questions keep running in his mind as he asks calmy where you are now.
Once in the nursery, will immediately check you up, looking for any important or serious injury. If he sees that you are safe and sound, will let out a subtle sigh of relief.
100% sure that he will hold your hand if you are both alone in the room, only if you are alone. He doesn't show much affection.
"You scared me, brat. Don’t do it again" His voice will be stern but soft as he caresses your cheek. If you apologize, you will be able to see one of the rare smiles he keeps only for you
Will keep an eye on you for the next mission, don’t you dare put your life in danger again, this man will do anything to keep you the safest possible.
Levi will protect you from anything that could be a threat for you.
Understand him please, you are the most important person in the whole fucking world for him and he won't let anything take you away from him. He already lost too much in his life and you are probably the reason why he is still able to keep going.
Erwin
At first the Commander won't say anything, he probably didn't even heard Hange talking, too absorbed by his paperwork.
Is known for keeping a stoic face no matter what people tell him but when the reality that you are in danger will sink in, he will freeze completely.
"Y/N is what?" He will ask, wanting to be sure that he heard well. "No, it can be true." He will deny the fact that you are between life and death.
Will rub his temples to stay calm and collect. Is going also ask to see you even if he's doing something important. Your life=number one priority.
He will put everything on his fault. He shouldn't have sent you on this mission, what was he thinking? 100% will blame himself for your injuries so please, tell him that it's not his fault
This man will try to visit you as much as possible between his paperwork. You can see in his eyes that he's tired, tired of work and worrying for you.
He will be scared to touch you, like if he could break you so easily. "I'm not made of glass, Commander." You will say with a soft smile, teasing him anytime you can. Just seeing you smile will be enough to make his heart secretly melt.
Erwin will keep you safe for the next few months by prohibiting to go on any mission. He's the Commander, he takes the decisions. And honestly, who will blame him for wanting to keep you safe?
Reiner
Will learn the new at the mess hall while eating. He was already a bit nervous as he didn't saw you since you left for the mission. Going to choke on his food for sure.
"What?! Uh- I mean, I'm sure Y/N will be fine." Try to keep a strong facade but inside will be in a total emotional damage.
Reiner will force Bertholdt to come with him as he visits you at the nursery. He's too insecure and scared to go there alone.
When will see you, he will have to bite his lip to contain his emotions, his hands will shake a bit but he's gonna hide it.
The poor boy will be such a loss for words that the only thing he will be able to say is: "Are you okay?" How ironic when half of your body is covered in bandages.
After a few minutes will ask for Bertholdt to leave you two alone (cause it's kinda awkward) and then you will see the REAL Reiner, the one you fell in love with.
He will take your hand in his, pressing his lips against your knuckles. "You scared me so much, I thought I've lost you forever." The tough soldier will become a scared and helpless boy.
You can even see a tear rolling down his cheek before he suddenly hugs you strongly. "Reiner... my ribs..." You say with a muffled voice, wincing a bit in pain but you know he didn't mean to hurt you.
Ps: he will immediately let you down and apologize at least 5 times for hurting you, even if you told him that it was okay 😣
------------
By the way, if you want another character, just request it! (I do only boys)

Y/N: crying her eyes out “I’ll never love anyone the way I loved him… I’m going to die alone.”
Levi: awkwardly trying to comfort her “You know, in the Underground we say… love is just around the corner.”
Y/N: sniffles “That’s the cutest thing I’ve ever heard.”
—Later, Levi talking to Hange in the hallway—
Levi: “I couldn’t bring myself to tell her the reason we say that… is because the corners are literally full of prostitutes.”

Title: Until When Do I Need to Run?
"What if I'm too tired by the time I reach the 'pinnacle' of my life?"
Your voice sounded soft and vulnerable as you let those words slip through your lips.
Normally, you wouldn't let these kinds of thoughts escape the confines of your mind, but today, your heart was desperately screaming for any semblance of salvation.
Anything that could shed light on your ever-gloomy world.
From the dining table where your boyfriend sat, enjoying his freshly brewed jasmine tea after dinner, Levi raised an eyebrow in your direction. "What?"
You were at the sink, washing the dishes, as it was your turn this week. You chuckled humorlessly as you rinsed a plate rather mindlessly. "It's nothing. I was just thinking out loud."
"And thinking ridiculous things too," Levi said, his voice louder than usual. It didn't occur to you that he had moved until you were spun around, facing him. He was already behind you while you were racking your brains for a response.
"What's wrong with you? Did something happen?" His frown was deep, his gray eyes piercing. Despite being shorter, his presence loomed over you.
Reaching for the kitchen towel to dry your hands, you stayed mute for a few minutes in an attempt to gather your thoughts.
"Work has just been... rough lately, and the stress is getting to me. But today was especially hard," you started. You were speaking slowly, trying to articulate your words as best as you could.
It was something your therapist had taught you years ago. Because of the things you went through growing up and the trauma you'd accumulated, you'd unfortunately lost your ability to speak coherently at times, almost to the point of being considered a person with a disability.
Having such a handicap was frustrating and humiliating, to say the least. It angered you when you couldn't get the right words out or when your mind went blank mid-sentence, rendering you temporarily mute.
Thankfully, you had Levi. He'd been your boyfriend for eight years, and since you got together, life wasn't as draining as it once was. You couldn't be more grateful to him. The two of you had met while you were on a coffee run at work. He was behind you in line, and when your card was unfortunately declined and you didn't have cash on you, you almost had an anxiety attack.
In his own way of displaying kindness, Levi scoffed from behind you and handed the cashier his card to pay for both your orders.
"If you don't want to go through something like that again, make sure you have cash on you, dumbass."
And the rest was history.
You went quiet again, and while Levi waited patiently, he took your hand, gave it a loving squeeze, and led you to the living room so that you could sit and talk comfortably.
Once you were settled, you took a deep breath, which sounded shaky as it escaped your lips. Your emotions were clearly piling up inside, and it was just a matter of when they would burst.
"Steady your breathing first, Y/N," Levi said as he rubbed your back gently, doing his best to comfort you while you grounded yourself. "Take your time."
Smiling sheepishly at him, you did as told, and then finally, you continued to confide in him.
"Nothing major happened, but work has been really hectic recently due to the amount of things we need to do, and it doesn't help that my team is severely understaffed. So, I guess the fatigue and stress have been piling up, and it's getting to me."
Levi noticed the tension in your shoulders and the way your hands were trembling slightly. He reached out and gently massaged your temples, his touch soothing.
"Any word on that incompetent manager of yours? They're looking for a replacement, right?" Levi asked, his voice tinged with annoyance. He knew the lore of what was happening at your workplace, and to say that he was pissed was an understatement.
Not only were you neglected by your immediate supervisor, but you also had to catch up and do his workload while still getting paid less than him. The whole thing was a mess, and to be completely honest, Levi was on edge, worried for your well-being. It sucked that his worst fears were manifesting.
"They're doing the best they can, so I'm just waiting patiently on that."
Levi let out a 'tsk' and rolled his eyes, clearly more annoyed for you. The gesture caused you to giggle a little.
"And to sum it all up, the whole thing kind of shoved me into another episode, and I started to overthink things again." You said with a pout, then continued, "I started to think of negative things again, like the fact I literally have to work like a horse just so I can survive for another two weeks. From that, I started to get dizzy because it dawned on me that it would literally take me years to succeed. And then I thought, what if by the time I reach the most successful point of my life, I'm too tired to celebrate or to even continue living because that's what I've been striving to achieve for so long, and that's where I've been pouring all my energy—"
"Okay, stop. Stop right there," Levi interrupted, his voice firm. He let out a frustrated sigh and pulled you closer, taking your hands in his. "You're spiraling, Y/N. You're making a mountain out of a molehill. We're going to tackle this together, one step at a time. Right now, you need to breathe and relax."
His gray eyes held a stern yet caring expression. "Focus on the now, Y/N. We deal with problems as they come. I'm here. I'll be your anchor, but you have to let go of the rope a little."
You looked into his eyes, feeling the weight of his words. Levi had always been your rock—the one who grounded you when your mind spiraled. You knew he was right, and his presence always brought you back to reality.
As you sat there, hand in hand, you felt a sense of calm wash over you.
"Thank you, Levi," you whispered, leaning in to rest your head on his shoulder.
Levi noticed the shift in your demeanor. He squeezed your hand reassuringly, his other hand coming up to stroke your hair gently.
"You know, Y/N," he started softly, his voice a stark contrast to his earlier firmness. "You're incredibly strong. You've faced challenges I couldn't imagine, and you’ve come out stronger for it. But even the strongest people need to recharge."
He paused, giving you a moment to absorb his words. "It's okay to not be okay sometimes. It's okay to feel overwhelmed. What matters is how you deal with it. And right now, you're dealing with it by talking to me instead of keeping all that to yourself, and you've also been really consistent with it, which is a huge step. Good job."
Levi squeezed your hand gently again. "We'll figure this out together. Maybe we can start by setting some boundaries at work. Or maybe we can find some ways to de-stress outside of work. We can try new hobbies, or just spend more quality time together."
You felt a lump form in your throat as you listened to Levi's words. Just him being there for you brought so much warmth; it's as if he's hugging you from within.
At that moment, you realized how lucky you were to have him in your life.
You looked up at him, your eyes filled with a mixture of gratitude and vulnerability. His words, spoken with such gentle sincerity, had a profound effect on you. It felt like a weight had been lifted off your shoulders. You realized how much you had been bottling up and how much you had been neglecting your own well-being.
"Thank you," you whispered, your voice barely audible. "Thank you for always being here for me. I don't know what I would do without you."
Levi smiled softly, reaching up to brush away a stray tear that had escaped your eye. "You don't have to figure it out alone, Y/N. And never, ever hesitate to reach out to me. I am the last person that would push you away."
A comfortable silence settled between you as you both took a moment to appreciate the connection. The soft glow of the living room lamp casts a warm ambiance, creating an intimate atmosphere.
"I know I've been a bit of a downer lately," you admitted, your voice trembling slightly. "I hate that I let this get to me. I hate that I'm becoming this person who's always stressed and overwhelmed."
Levi squeezed your hand tighter.
"You're not this person, Y/N. You're going through a tough time, and that's okay."
You nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over you. It was comforting to know that you had someone who understood and supported you unconditionally.
The conversation continued, flowing naturally as you shared your fears and worries with Levi. He listened patiently, offering words of encouragement and practical advice. You felt a sense of peace as you opened up to him, something you hadn't done in a long time.
Hours seemed to fly by as you talked. The initial darkness outside had given way to the soft hues of dawn. Levi's grip on your hand never loosened, his presence a constant source of comfort.
Eventually, the weight of exhaustion began to creep in. You yawned, your eyes heavy with sleep. Levi noticed and smiled gently.
"It's late, Y/N," he said softly. "Let's head to bed."
You nodded, your head leaning against his shoulder. "Mkay. Thank you, Levi."
Levi kissed the top of your head. "You're welcome. We'll talk more about this tomorrow if you want, alright?"
You nodded, a sheepish smile on your face. "Okay."
He stood up and stretched, a yawn escaping his lips. "I'll get us some water."
You watched as Levi moved toward the kitchen, feeling exponentially better, all thanks to him. When he returned with two glasses of water, he handed you one and sat back down beside you.
"Drink up," he said, his voice soft but firm.
You took a sip, feeling the cool liquid soothe your throat. After finishing the water, you placed the glass on the coffee table and turned to Levi.
"Thank you, Levi, for everything," you said, your voice full of sincerity.
He gave you a small smile, his eyes reflecting his affection for you. "Always, Y/N."
Setting his glass aside, Levi suddenly cupped your face with his hands, his touch gentle yet commanding. He leaned in, his lips capturing yours in a kiss that was more passionate and eager than usual. His kiss conveyed all the love, support, and reassurance he wanted to give you, grounding you in the moment.
You responded in kind, your arms wrapping around his neck as you melted into the kiss. The intensity of the moment made your worries fade away, replaced by the warmth and love radiating from Levi. He pulled you closer, deepening the kiss, his hands moving to your waist, holding you securely.
When you finally pulled away for air, you rested your forehead against his, your breaths mingling. Levi's eyes were soft but intense, filled with a promise of unwavering support.
"You're not alone, Y/N," he whispered, his voice husky with emotion. "I love you, and I'll always be here for you."
Tears of gratitude filled your eyes as you looked at him. "I love you too, Levi."
With that, he took your hand and led you to the bedroom. You both settled into bed, the weight of the day's worries feeling lighter. As you lay there, wrapped in each other's arms, you felt a sense of peace and security that only Levi could provide.
"Goodnight, Y/N," Levi murmured, his breath warm against your ear.
"Goodnight, Levi," you replied, your voice barely above a whisper.
The room fell into a serene silence, only your steady breathing filling the space. Levi’s arms around you felt like a shield against the world’s troubles, and the steady beat of his heart was a comforting rhythm that lulled you into relaxation.
As sleep began to pull you under, you felt a tender kiss pressed to your forehead while Levi’s fingers lightly traced soothing patterns on your back—his way of reminding you that he was always there, ready to lift the burdens you carried.

Levi Ackerman in Call of Duty AU
summary: When task force 141 tries to pursue Kenny Ackerman, they have only one way to do that, which is to try to get his nephew first. Levi Ackerman.
Levi's breath stuck in his throat, and he recognized the gaze that filled your eyes. Full of warmth, love, and content "I'm so lucky to be loved by you"
Levi was staring at your hand in his grip as he squeezed it slightly. His eyes slowly shifted toward your head on his shoulder. And once again, his tired sharp eyes scanned your body, looking for possible injuries in case he missed it before.
The two of you right now are sitting inside a military vehicle, waiting for the men, the soldiers, who rescued the two of you to come back from whatever they need to finish first before getting out of this place. Then, he looked to his right, and through the window, he could see the collapsed building, some of them even burning, and across the street, he could even see corpses everywhere.
Levi grits his teeth and his mind keeps wondering about what one of the men said to him. Captain Price, he recalls. "You're going to lead us to Kenny Ackerman, kid". That name, a name that he thought he would never hear from anyone ever again, Kenny-fucking-Ackerman, his damn uncle, is part of a fucking terrorist who just blew up a whole city just to cover his ass up. And now, many people paid the price.
He knows, he knows that his uncle is not a good man. after all, what kind of a guardian taught his nephew all the shits that he knows now? "Just in case brat" he always says. Now, he knows why.
His thought was cut off when he heard footsteps coming closer to them, and his hand slowly went inside his touser where he hid his switchblade. "Don't trust anyone" is one of the things he learned from his uncle.
When the car's door opened, a guy with a skull mask appears before him, Ghost, Levi heard, when the captain barking orders to his men. Levi tried to remember their name, which it's not that difficult with the codenames they have. and Levi noticed when the man's eyes drifted from his eyes to the hand inside his trouser. Then, another person comes into view. A man with mohawk hair. Both of them still have guns in their arms. But it won't be Levi if he hasn't thought of a way to get away even from them if he needs to.
Both the men before him, looked at his hand which still holding yours on his lap, but Levi doesn't let go. If they want him, he needs you with him. If his uncle knows where he is right now, there's a big chance he knows about you too. and he's not taking any chances. Then the man behind ghost smiled thinly, cutting off the tension between them.
"we will move out in 10" without giving Levi any time to say anything, he closed the door. leaving him and you alone in the vehicle again. Levi slowly pulls his hand away from his switchblade as he rests his head on the seat. His eyes found the crown of your head and kissed it softly before he closed his eyes. For now, you are safe. and he will make sure you are still safe tomorrow and the rest of his days.
Call of Duty + Levi Ackerman x Reader
As you know, Kenny Ackerman is involved in something big. For now, he was counted as one of the terrorists who are being hunted by the task force. To sum up, he is a criminal. a big one.
The task force later found out that Kenny has one living relative, who lead them to Levi and who wants him to lead them to Kenny.
Kenny of course knows about that, he blew up a city to prove that they shouldn't try to track him.
Later, Reader will have a role in this too. if they need Levi to find Kenny, Kenny eventually will need Reader to finish whatever he was working out now.

Can I get a headcanon of reader playfully calls Levi “My man” even thought they aren’t together but secretly Levi likes it
{A/N:} I'm really happy to be writing again :,)
Tumblr media
warnings: None!
================================
Everyone always teased you both. You just seemed to be that couples! and everyone wants to dee it happen
Sometimes you'd take it to your advantage. Like on a mission you may pose as husband and wife and surpass an obstacle.
Sometimes he's tease you because of how much you played into the role
"Oh yes my husband is a great soldier and captain, I knew I married the right man!" he'd mock you after you faked a story
"Oh you wish that were true!" you'd laugh at him while slapping his shoulder. Even though you both kind of, maybe, possibly wanted it to happen...
there just so happened to be a day where the new recruits were hitting on you. So, you had a bright idea to use your teasing to your advantage.
"Please...leave me alone, I'm not interested or available to you or anyone" you state with a straight face.
"Oh really? I don't see him around, or a ring on that pretty finger"
"Oh he so happened to be your captain and MY MAN would not be pleased to hear this!" you exclaimed as loud as you could to get said captains attention
This indeed get the man's attention. You LOVED the look on his face, it was a mix of:
HUH???
Shit, not again
who me?? 0////0
why me?
In the end he came and played the role of 'your man' and shooed off the young recruits.
In a way he liked the fact that you referred to him as your man...did her...did he actually want that?
to be your man..?
When he really looked at you, you were gorgeous and brave, and considerate, strong and funny.....
"Ooooooo Levi is that blush I seeeee? Did Y/N do that????" Hange teased him and he simply tsked and walked away but...
it was a nice thought...and maybe it won't be a thought one day...

Levi stares through the window of the borrowed room to the city streets below. Soldiers eagerly await news of the current mission, and although his face may not show it, Levi too felt the anticipation gnawing at him. There was so much at stake, and yet here he was, weak from his injury and lacking the energy to even pull gear over his head. He sighs deeply. Never has he felt so hopeless.
A knock at the door interrupted his thought process. Ah, yes. He wasn’t waiting here alone. Hange had instructed a member of their squad to stay behind, to keep Levi from making any rash decisions and to act as his sword if necessary. This soldier, who was now pushing open the door with her elbow, tray of tea in hand, didn’t even take a breath before answering her Section Commander’s wishes. Levi doesn’t remove his gaze from the window, although his mind was now anywhere but the happenings below. She hums as she places the tray down on the table, and he hears the soft sound of liquid hitting the bottom of a teacup. Hange wasn’t stupid, you see. They wouldn’t leave just anyone to watch over Humanities Strongest. Knowing he would protest and scald them for thinking he couldn’t hold his own even with an injury such as his, they chose carefully, wisely, and Levi had no objections, other than a disapproving huff for the Section Commander.
“Tea, captain?” the woman asks softly, kindly, just as she always does, “I asked for your favorite, of course.”
Levi hums in agreement, and then with a quiet please, he hears her place a second cup and saucer down. Still, he doesn’t look in her direction. He finds himself getting lost sometimes, his eyes disobeying the command to turn the other way when it was her in his line of vision. Now he doesn’t trust himself, so instead keeps a steady watch on the restless soldiers below. The teacup comes into view as she places it delicately on the windowsill before him, saying “Drink it while it's hot, captain. You may need it.”
The woman’s name was Y/N Y/L/N, a fellow soldier Levi had known since his days as a cadet. She was a few years younger than him, but not by many, and a grown woman all her own. If it wasn’t for Hange taking an interest in her, Levi would have snatched her up way before Hange got the chance. But something held him back, something that eats at him whenever she’s near, and that was the main reason he hesitated in assigning her. That being said, she had remained a constant in his life, someone he had grown to trust outside of his line of work, mostly because she never gave up chipping away at his steely exterior.
During their training days, she would beg him for help out of hours, despite knowing that being caught after curfew was punishable. He clearly remembers refusing to, but each morning in the mess hall she would be waiting to grab him once more. Eventually, he gave up, announcing he would only help her for one hour per week and that was all he was willing to do. He can still remember the way her eyes lit up, because even to this day, they still do – especially when the praise is falling from his lips.
There was something about her that Levi couldn’t quite shake. Somehow, she had managed to make him give in back then, perhaps the only person to actually score a win against him, and that wasn’t the only time he’s been compelled to say yes. When she joined Hange’s ranks, he would see her most days around headquarters, and each time she would smile, stopping to ask how he was. And each time her eyes shone the same way they did all those years ago. He found himself getting a little lost in the shine of them, removing his gaze from her almost immediately. Y/N had been in his life so long, that he had become accustomed to her company, often choosing to sit by her during meal times and accepting her offer of tea when she came to see how he was in his office.
It was always “How are you, captain? Do you need anything?”
Her visits were never to ask him for something, they were never for her own benefit, it was always just to check on him. At the beginning it had annoyed him, because for crying out loud, he’s a soldier not a child, but eventually it became routine. She would knock on the door, and the tea was already in her hands by the time he had opened it. He began inviting her in, listening to her talk about everything and nothing, and those times of peace became a ritual to Levi. It almost felt wrong when her knock didn’t echo throughout his office at the same time each week.
But it wasn’t just tea and company, it was comfort when she could see through his brave face. Somehow, she could read his giveaways, and then the knock on his office door was much softer on those days. The night after his squad had died, the knock penetrated the silence of the room just after dark, and immediately he knew who it was. Anyone else and he would’ve told them to leave him be.
“Captain,” she had whispered, tears rimming her pretty eyes as they looked into his solemn ones, “I just wanted to see you, I can leave if you wish to be alone.”
But he pulled up a chair beside him.
He told her how he felt.
How the guilt he felt for their death was almost unbearable since it was him who had chosen them. How, once again, his trusted comrades had left him, and now he was alone. Just as before.
It just poured out of him like water, and not a single word left her mouth. In fact, she barely made a move until he had been quiet for some time, and then he felt a steady hand on his shaking one.
“I know it may not be much conciliation for you,” she said softly, so gentle, like the kiss of a feather against his skin, “but I will always be around to listen to you, captain.”
But it was more than she could have ever imagined.
And now she was sitting just behind him, sipping on tea and yet again not speaking because she knew that he didn’t wish to talk right now. No words had told her so, but she just understood him without having to ask, and that was something Levi treasured deeply. He had no idea how to spark a decent conversation. He turned slightly, seeing her from the corner of his eye as he placed the China cup between his lips. She hummed in satisfaction at the taste, and Levi, yet again, found himself looking for far too long.
“Good?” he questions quietly, and she nods.
“Yes,” she answers sweetly, “is it okay for you, captain? If not, I can-”
“It’s perfect,” he cuts her off gently, taking another appreciative sip, “thank you.”
She smiles to herself, a little triumphantly. He finds the corner of his mouth twitching into something similar. Her eyes then meet his, and the smile only grows wider. His chest feels a little lighter when he can see her whole face, like everything going on outside the window is just a bad dream. Levi rises from his chair, but not before she rushes to her feet to help him. He offers a dismissive hand.
“Stay put,” he says softly, “I’m fine, honestly.”
He joins her at the table, just across from where she was sitting. She pushes forward a small plate of plain biscuits.
“You should eat something, captain,” she then says, “you need to build your strength back up. Not that I particularly think you’ve lost any.”
She laughs lightly. Levi has always found pleasure in the sound of her happiness, although it was a fact that he was willing to push down due to his nature. He simply didn’t have time to feel for someone. Caring that deeply for someone would only make his job harder; so, for the last many years, he has convinced himself that this woman was nothing special.
He knows, really, how foolish that was.
Because she was special, and sitting here, after losing so much in such a short time, he had been thinking long and hard through the glass pane of that window. He was wasting precious time with her, time that could be limited due to their jobs. He watches as she takes another sip, her painted fingernails, silky lips and soft, y/c/h hair. He wonders how she finds the time to look so elegant, but then again, he’s never known her to not look so. Even out in the field, he thinks she’s a stunning creature, and for the first time, he allows himself to believe it. He breaks the comfortable silence, pulling her from her own thoughts.
“We’ve known each other for quite some time, haven't we?”
When she looks up his eyes are pointed towards the teacup before him. She smiles yet again, a soft chuckle falling from her lips, and his gaze is drawn to her face.
“I’d say so,” she says, “but, in all honesty, sir, I wouldn’t be sitting before you if it wasn’t for your time and patience back then. I don’t think I’ve thanked you for a long while.”
“No need to,” he responds quickly, “I made the choice to help you, and now I’m glad I did. Made a fine soldier out of that little thing you once were, didn’t I?”
Her cheeks tint a subtle shade of pink, and her eyes are averted from his calm stare. She seems to have gone inside herself from that comment, and the little spark he suppresses in his chest seems to burn hotter upon the sight of it.
“I owe you a lot, sir,” she then speaks quieter, still refusing to meet his eyes, “after losing so many people I often wonder if I should still be here-”
“Don’t,” he says firmly, and her head shoots up, eyes wide like a deer in headlights. It wasn’t as if she wasn’t used to his stern tone, but it never makes it any easier to hear, “you are here because you have earned to be. What I taught you back then wouldn’t save you now. You have learnt the hardships of battle on your own back. No one can teach you like sheer adrenaline in the face of death.”
The soft eyes he has come to know turn into glittering determination. The same look that made him give in all those years ago, and upon seeing her true will to keep fighting, he couldn't help but train such a promising young woman. The world needed a soul as strong as hers, not only for battle, but for the unlimited compassion she was able to give.
“Thank you, sir.”
“And what's with the formalities all these years, hm?” he raises an eyebrow, “doesn't seem that long ago when you used to call me by my name.”
“Well, it just doesn’t feel right now, sir,” she goes on to say, fiddling with the handle of her teacup, “since you are my superior, we are no longer on equal footing. It would be wrong for me to address you so casually.”
“Equal footing, huh?” he repeats quietly, taking a sip of the tea that was now growing cold, “not sure how I feel about that sentiment.”
“But, sir-”
“Is it not you who has remained a constant in my life?” he interrupts, an air of utter seriousness about him, and she doesn’t dare to even move a muscle, “is it not you who graduated by my side in the cadets? Or you who has managed to, somehow, find a way into my personal space without repercussion?”
Still, she doesn’t move, but her eyes are full and staring at him, shining behind a glossing layer of tears. He takes a deep breath.
“What I'm trying to say is,” he then lowers his tone and leans slightly on the table to get closer to her. His eyes meet hers, and she sees the man she has always looked up to and, over the years, grown to love unconditionally, “this world has truly gone to shit, and a lot of people I care about are dead,” he cuts to the point, and ever so quietly, he hears a tiny whimper from her lips, “but you, you’re still here, bringing me tea like someone asked you to, listening to my whining, never turning away even though I’m a closed off bastard,” a light puff of air escapes her nose and the ghost of a smile curls at her soft looking lips, “and I’m grateful, eternally and wholeheartedly grateful.”
“Captain-”
“No,” he cuts her off, “not anymore. Say my name. Like you used to.”
Maybe it was selfish of him to ask that of her, but he was dying to hear it. A lot of time had gone and passed since she addressed him that way, and memories of her whinging and moaning when her muscles ached and the dragged-out Levi that would tumble from her mouth started flooding back.
“Levi,” she then whispers, and the small spark that was gradually getting hotter and brighter in his chest erupts, sending a wave of warmth over his entire body.
“Y/N,” he then returns, and its soft, delicate, full of adoration. She smiles a watery smile, and then reaches out, but not before she awaits his consent. He finishes the job for her, taking her hand like it was made of glass and placing her palm against his cheek. He feels her thumb brush his face, and for a moment he lets go. He breathes out in content, closes his eyes and relishes in the touch of the woman he has come to cherish.
And although it may never leave his mouth, he loved her.
He loved her like he reads about in books, how the world seems happier, brighter, more vibrant and fruitful when the person you love is standing in it. How the bad times are just times that are bad, and they will pass, and left behind will be the one person who holds you up when your legs are too tired, when the world is cruel and the tunnel seems to drag on forever.
But he sees now. At the end of that tunnel, is her.
At the end of the treacherousness will be her.
“Levi,” she sounds again, and he hums in response, almost like he’s falling asleep against her hand, “we should head back to the wagon soon.”
“Nah,” he whispers, “if they want me, they can come and get me.”
He doesn’t open his eyes, and he hears the most delightful giggle from her chest. He then feels her other hand touch his face, cupping it like he’s never done any wrong in the world. And, when he opens his eyes into hers, the look she gives him is the same. She looks at him like he’s never raised a blade, never stolen, hurt or deceived other people. Like he’s new again, and he realizes, she has always seen him that way. Right from the very beginning.
All she has ever seen is a person.
“Alright, then,” she says softly, “I’ll go and get more tea, and something more substantial for you to eat. I’ll be right back.”
She goes to move, but his hands take her wrists gently. If he lets go, will she return? Just like she has all these years. From the look on his face, she can tell he has begun to overthink, so quickly quells his anguish with a swift, precious kiss to his knuckles.
"Just a few moments,” she tells him, and then she’s gone, through the door with a soft click. He watches the doorway she left through, and for the first time in his entire life, his heart feels full and the weight he bares on his shoulders isn't so heavy.
Because she’s willing to carry half of it.
And as he turns to look back through the window to the outside world, it doesn’t seem so sullen anymore. The sun was shining down and casting shadows across the buildings, birds were chirping, the sound of a laughing soldier echos up through the glass panes, and he thinks to himself, as long as she remains the constant in his life, it doesn’t matter what's waiting over the brow of the hill, because wherever they are, near or apart, they will always find their way back to each other.
Like destined souls, fate keeps them together, and as he hears the door click back open, he prays that every time she leaves, he will hear her turn the handle in return.

can you do a levi x reader oneshot, angst with a fluff ending? :3
Hey hey my favorite Levi's fangirl!
Finally, I decided to make random Levi relationship headcanons (but yeah, you told me it was good so I'm not wasting my chance)
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Who confess first:
You will confess first. Levi isn't a very 'feelings' guy and is just too shy to approach you and talk about these kinds of things.
First kiss:
Levi is very shy about the first kiss. He will take a lot of time to finally take his courage to make this step. He's going to kiss you in private, and kiss you very quickly before looking away. "Did you like it?" He will ask you about it and if he receives a positive answer, he will give you another kiss, way longer.
Making your relationship official:
Hange is the first one who notice a changement in your behavior toward each other and will get suspicious, asking you about Levi constantly and vice-versa. Finally, will achieve her goal after many days of harassment when Levi will just get angry. "Yes, we are dating! Is that what you wanted to hear?" Of course, Hange's gonna fangirl about it, saying how you guys are cute together. Also, will spread the news even if you asked her not to (sorry, she's just so happy for you 😔)
Levi's love language:
Levi isn't a very affectionate person and PDA isn't his cup of tea. Don't expect him to show his love to you in public, the guy will totally act indifferent. Sometimes, will make a teasing comment just to see your face flush. He's major love language are head pats; they are simple and cute. In private, he isn't a lot touchy either but will hug you by behind and kiss your cheek and shoulder gently. Also loves sloppy and long kisses where your tongues explore each other's mouth.
Nicknames for each other:
Levi likes to call you a 'brat'. You're needy for affection? You act like a child, brat. You got dirty while eating? Learn how to eat properly, brat. You got injured in a mission? Be careful next time, brat. When he feels more dominant, he will call you 'princess' or 'baby'. But when he's in a more romantic mood, 'sweetheart' and 'darling' are also his favorite nicknames. As for you, you love to annoy Levi with his height so 'shorty' or 'short king' are the perfect nicknames. You also like to call him 'Captain Handsome' or 'hot stuff' when you are in a more teasing mood.

Levi opening the door of his house. Erwin kneeling with open arms to receive Levi’s daughter.
Erwin: come on, give a kiss to uncle Erwin.
Levi: *picks her up* she doesn’t give kisses to men, Never. She’s going to be a nun … Or a lesbian. I don’t trust a single one around her.

New Light Part: 4
College Levi x Reader(Modern AU)
W/C: 2793
T/W:  Mentions of alcohol and drugs
A/N: Okay, disclaimer, I haven’t paid a lot of attention to the Warriors so writing them was a little tough but I filled in the gaps of their personalities with my imagination so plz forgive me lol. Again, thank you to everyone who has liked/reblogged/commented on the earlier fics! It means a lot :) (pic is from pinterest.
I’ve put all the parts in one list here:  New Light Masterlist
Tumblr media
You saw the group at the back entrance and waved. Your nerves from earlier were completely forgotten after your second beer. Zeke rubbed his thumb against your shoulder and you smiled out of habit. You made eye contact with Levi and gave him a toothy grin, his eyes darted away. Your friends looked at the party headed towards them and stopped talking but you didn’t notice.
“Hey, I was wondering if y’all forgot where the bar is,” you joked but no one laughed.
“Erwin. Levi. It’s been a while,” Zeke stated.
You looked at him confused. “What? You know them?”
Zeke chuckled, “yeah, I guess I do.”
“Zeke, it’s nice to see you again. Same to you Porco and Pieck,” Erwin stated.
Porco and Pieck looked at each other and smiled. “It’s nice to see you too, Erwin,” Pieck said in a sweet voice.
Levi glared at the way Zeke’s arm was draped across your shoulder. He gritted his teeth. Hange noticed how tense he was getting and placed a hand on his shoulder.
“What a small world! I’m glad everyone knows each other. Guys, sit down!” You montioned at the empty seats at the table, completely misreading the space.
Hange was the first to sit and the rest followed. The table was quiet for a few minutes, everyone sipped on their drinks.
“Levi, I like your scarf,” You pointed to the black scarf draped across his body.
“Thanks.”
“Yeah, it’s such a nice scarf,” Zeke repeated.
Levi gave Zeke a dirty look. Hange looked at him nervously and Moblit put a hand on their knee to calm them. You took another sip of your beer.
“Yeah, Zeke, it is a nice scarf. That’s why I complimented it. Anyways, how do you all know each other?” Confidence surged through your veins thanks to the alcohol.
“We were floormates freshman year,” Levi’s dry voice said.
“Wait-oh, I see,” You said.
Erwin began to make casual conversation with everyone while Levi stared at the bottom of his glass. Hange and Moblit joined Erwin and conversed with the other two at the table. Wait, is Zeke the one that called Erwin’s kickback lame? That’s the only possibility, right? Your head was dizzy from the alcohol but the puzzle pieces were starting to fall into place.
“Hey, (Y/N),” Porco called out.
“Huh?”
“You good? It looks like we lost you there for a second.”
“Yeah, Porco. I’m fine,” You said sarcastically.
“Zeke, you and (Y/N) make a good couple,” Erwin said.
Zeke chuckled and squeezed you closer to his toned body, “I know but thank you.”
You kept your head down unsure about what to do. It was evident that Zeke had an issue with Erwin and Levi but you didn’t fully understand why. From what you heard, Zeke was the one who was mean to the other two but Zeke was your boyfriend so you should be on his side, right? You took another swig of your beer.
“Levi, are you still with Petra?” Pieck asked.
Petra? Who the fuck is that, you thought, anger coursed through your veins.
“No,” Levi said.
“Oh, that’s too bad. She was such a lovely girl,” Pieck sighed.
“Who’s Petra?” You asked.
No one answered your question. You looked at Pieck but she kept her eyes down. What the fuck is up?
“She’s a girl I dated freshman year,” Levi explained.
“Oh.”
Hange broke the tension by shouting, “(Y/N), I promised you a shot! Who else wants one?”
Pieck, Moblit and Erwin raised their hands. Hange called over a server and asked for a round of shots for everyone. A few minutes later, they brought tequila shots for the table. Everyone grabbed their lime and raised their glass.
“To finishing finals!” Hange exclaimed.
The table repeated what Hange said and took their shot. You and Porco laughed at Pieck’s face and she stuck her tongue out at you. Zeke kissed your cheek and you leaned into his warm body. For a second, it felt like it did at the beginning of your relationship. You felt safe and hopeful but those feelings disappeared when you caught Levi looking at you and Zeke. Immediately, you pulled away and Zeke frowned. You weren’t one for PDA but after a few drinks you didn’t mind showing your man some love but under Levi’s eye it felt wrong.
“Let’s do another shot!” Hange shouted.
“Hange!! Let me buy you a shot!!” You shouted back.
“(Y/N), you’re the best!!” Hange exclaimed, their cheeks glowing under the lights.
Everyone took another shot and the mood around the table began to lighten as everyone got drunker. Porco made a few jokes that made Erwin laugh. Zeke talked to Hange about their senior thesis. Everything seemed to be falling into place except for Levi. He didn’t make an effort to hold a conversation with anyone. He stared at the empty shot glasses and occasionally smiled at whatever Erwin said.
The patio lights shadows made Levi look heavenly, the soft glow bounced off his pale skin and you tried not to stare but you couldn’t, he looked so pretty.
Zeke could sense that your thoughts were taking you elsewhere so he gave you a kiss on the check. You gave him a smile in return.
The bar was packed and everyone at the table was talking after a new round of drinks. It should be a perfect night, all of your friends seemed to be getting alone but something didn’t feel right. In that moment, you wished it could have been Levi holding your body. Stop, Levi is just a friend, that’s it. I love Zeke. You repeated in your head over and over.
As the night dragged on, you slowly began to lose touch with reality, everything became a happy, surreal blur. Throughout the night, Zeke kept his hands on your body. Before that would have kept you grounded but now it felt off, you weren’t sure if it was the alcohol but you didn’t want him to touch you. You kept on smiling and talking to everyone until the bartender called for final orders.
“This was nice but I think we should get going now,” Erwin declared.
“Yeah, I think you’re right,” Pieck said.
Everyone gathered their belongings and started to walk towards the front door. Zeke walked ahead with Porco and Pieck but you stayed behind with the others. Erwin, Hange and Moblit left you and Levi together alone. Hange’s arm was wrapped around Moblit’s shoulder. They leaned against their body and continued talking.
“Hey, I had a good time tonight,” You said to Levi who barely acknowledged your existence.
“It was okay,” He stated.
The two of you followed the others.
“But what are the odds of us forming a friendship in this way, right?” You said.
“Tsk, a friendship? We hardly know each other, I wouldn't push it,” Levi responded.
“I guess you’re right,” You muttered.
Levi felt bad about his harsh tone but he didn’t know what to do. He still had the same warm feeling in his chest from before but watching Zeke touch you hurt him. All of you had exited the bar and you walked over to Zeke and he placed his jacket over your shoulders.
“Well, it was, uh, nice to catch up with all of you. Hange thank you for helping my girl study. Get home safe,” Zeke said. You smiled and everyone and waved.
“Zeke, the same to you too. Glad to know you’re doing well. (Y/N) congrats on finishing midterms. See you later,” Erwin said.
“I love yoouuu! I love all of you!” Hange shouted. Moblit still had his arm around Hange to stabilize them.
“Love you too, Hange!” You blew them a kiss.
They all turned and began to walk home. Porco and Pieck had already left in their Uber. You looked at Zeke and he gave you a smile and you smiled back out of habit.
Zeke made conversation on your way back to his place. You wrapped your arms around your body and counted the steps in between each street light. The air around you was dry and your breath fell to the ground in a transparent cloud. Eventually, you made it to Zeke’s apartment, it was highrise close to downtown. When you entered the apartment your attention immediately went to the large windows. They faced the city skyline and the lights poured into the living room and gently outlined the minimal furniture in the room. Zeke led you to the bedroom and began to kiss the back of your neck. His beard tickled your neck and left goosebumps on your skin. You rolled your shoulders and stepped away.
“Come on,” Zeke groaned.
“No, not tonight. I’m really tired,” You said.
You made your way to the bathroom and turned on the harsh lights. The lights bounced off the white tiles and highlighted the bags under your eyes. You stared at yourself for a while, the longer you stared, the faster your thoughts swirled in your head. Is Levi made at me? You splashed cold water on your face and tried to wash off the awkwardness from tonight but no matter how hard you scrubbed, you couldn’t get the image of Levi staring at the empty glasses out of your head.
When you walked back into the bedroom you saw Zeke passed on the bed. You smiled at him and placed a blanket over his body and brushed his hair away from his forehead. You curled up on the opposite side of the bed and wrapped a blanket around yourself. Zeke’s soft snores filled the room, normally that was enough to lull you to sleep but lately it was becoming more of a nuisance. Why am I feeling like this? I love Zeke and he loves me back, that should be enough. So why do I feel so unsure? Zeke wasn’t your first partner but he was your first proper love. Everything beforehand had felt like practice for this.
The two of you had met in the spring term of sophomore year. The sun was shining and you we’re sitting on a blanket with Rico bouncing off ideas for research projects. You kept an eye on the baseball team who were practicing near the two of you. Rico was in the middle of explaining her ideas when a baseball flew in your direction.
“Heads up!” shouted a deep voice.
Both of you covered your heads as the ball flew over your blanket. The footsteps of one of the players was nearing your spot.
“Hey, I’m sorry about that.”
You tried to look up but the sun was blinding your eyes. You were able to make out the outline of a tall, man with broad shoulders and wavy blonde hair. He flashed a charismatic smile and said,“the name’s Jaeger. Zeke Jaeger.”
You introduced yourself and Zeke knelt down so his head was at your level.
“Nice to meet you. I feel about almost hitting you. Not sure what happened, normally I have perfect aim.” He winked at you. “Let me make it up by taking you out for a drink, your friend is more than welcomed to come.”
You blushed and thanked him and began to decline your offer when Rico interrupted you.
“She, I mean, we would love that. Here’s her number and mine, too.”
“Thanks, I’ll shoot y’all a text.”
Zeke stood up, grabbed the ball and gave you a wave before running back to his team. From that point on, the two of you had been inseparable.
You drifted off thinking about those first memories, the sweetness of his touch, the excitement of loving Zeke, the hopefulness you had. If you kept on thinking about those moments then maybe they would manifest back into your life. You wanted back that stability in your love so much it hurt your chest.
The next day you rolled over to an empty bed. Your hand traced the cold sheets and you kept your hands in the sunlight, the warmth felt good compared to the draft in Zeke’s bedroom. He preferred a colder bedroom, he said it was better for the body. The front door opened and you pretended to be asleep. Zeke’s footsteps got closer to the bed and you felt him press a kiss to your cheek, he smelled of sweat and musk. Who goes on a run after a night out? You thought. The showerhead turned on and you heard Zeke sing.
You got up and rummaged through Zeke’s drawer and pulled out a navy cardigan. You wrapped the fabric over your body and padded your way to the kitchen. The kitchen was colder than the bedroom.
“Fuck, who lives like this?”
You poured yourself water and stared at the tiles on the walls. Re-playing Levi’s comment in your head. Tsk, a friendship? We hardly know each other, I wouldn't push it. You didn’t blame Levi for his harshness but his comment hurt. There was no denying that you two shared a kinship that was a bit deeper than friendship. Romance wasn’t the word for it either. The relationship you had formed with him felt safe, you felt understood and respected in a way you haven’t really before. Your concentration was broken when you heard Zeke enter the kitchen.
“Hey, babe. Good morning.” He pressed a kiss to your temple. “I bought you a smoothie.”
“Thanks, Zeke,” you responded.
He grabbed the smoothie from the fridge and smiled at you. You sat on the counter and began to sip on the drink. Zeke hummed to himself and began to pull out a pan from the cupboard.
“Whatcha thinking about?” you asked.
“Life.”
“Like, the gameboard?” You joked.
He rolled his eyes. “Honestly, I’m thinking about last night. I never thought I was going to see those guys ever again.”
“Mmm, why did something happen?” You said nonchalantly.
Zeke chuckled, “stupid freshman things. We were all young and dumb.”
He stayed silent afterwards as he went on to fry some eggs. The eggs sizzled in the pan and he whistled quietly. You knew him well enough to know he wanted to say something else.
“I mean, I did dumb stuff when I was freshman so how bad can it actually be?” You prodded.
Zeke stared at you with a series expression. “Look (Y/N), I don’t really want to hash out what happened but-” he hesitated as he looked for the right words to say, “-be careful around Levi. There’s something off about that guy.”
“Oh,” you muttered.
You continued drinking the smoothie, the smell of the egg was making you nauseous and you started to feel the hanging over. You went back into the bedroom and laid down. Your phone buzzed and saw a text from Hange.
Hange: OMG i’m so hungover, i don’t remember getting home
You: Hange, WTF that’s not good lol but I know you were in good hands ;)
Hange: wut does that mean??
You: Moblit lol he was so nice and caring
Hange: … no comment but what are you doing
You: nothing really, why?
Hange: do you want to get brunch?
Hange: it’ll just be the two of us :)
You: yeah, i would love that, send me the address !
The smell of egg had entered the bedroom and you gagged. You hated the smell but Zeke insisted that it was the best way to get protein in the morning. You grabbed your belongings and walked to the kitchen again. Zeke was sitting at the counter eating the eggs and drinking his smoothie while reading the paper.
“Hey, I think I’m gonna head out!”
“Really? I thought we could spend the day together before I leave,” Zeke responded.
“You’re leaving?” You paused while putting on your shoes.
“I thought I told you. My internship is taking me on a trip for the next three days and then I’m heading home for the break,” Zeke said in between bites of food.
“Shit. You didn’t tell me. How about we hang out later today?”
“Yeah, I guess that sounds good to me. I’ll see you later,” he said.
“See ya.”
You went back to your apartment to freshen up and hurried to the diner Hange was it. You stepped through the doors and immediately saw Hange’s smiling face. They were waving you to their table. You greeted them with equal excitement and walked to them. For the past few weeks, some of your favorite moments have been hanging out with them. They always brightened your mood with their cheerful banter and love for life. You were excited to eat brunch with them and question them more about the history between the trio and your boyfriend.

Hello everyone!
A few days ago I read a fic where Levi and reader were married and had a kid.
Levi was cooking/cleaning and the kid was playing outside even if it was raining and finds a sick kitten. Begs Levi to keep it, he says no in quite a stern way and the kitten ends up dying.
Kid gets very upset and reader gets mad at Levi and then leaves for a few days.
I think it was part x of a series but I might be wrong
I’ve been looking all over and can’t find the fic again, can anyone send me in the right direction?

|Missing you while on tour|  Rockstar!Levi Ackeman x Reader
|Wordcount: 763 | |Request: No |
|Levi’s icon by: Lazulicon | Hanji’s Icon by: Annicon |
Tumblr media
You  laid on your back, unable to sleep.
Levi was away on tour with the band and you had to say behind because of work. Not everyone got to travel while they did what they love.
You were happy for them, the results of their hard work finally showing up. You still remembered when Through Titians’s Instagram account hit 10k. Hanji almost left you all deaf from her hysterical screaming. Levi tried to play it off, but you could read right through him. The usual tension in his brows was nowhere to be found.
But there was a problem. No matter how much you reminded yourself that you needed to be glad and grateful of their success, the bed still felt cold without Levi’s warm embrace and the apartment you shared was always quiet without his constant taps on the table, pretending to play the drums.
You never noticed how important Levi’s presence was in your life until he was gone. You hated to be this needy, but you missed so much, to the point where you couldn’t sleep. Your overthinking brain wondering how he was doing, and how was everything going with the rest of the band.
You knew how much of a clean freak Levi could be. It was almost an O.c.d, and Hanji’s messy nature could trigger some issues between them. You hoped Dita and Mike could stop a fight if it ever came to that. Usually you holding his hand could calm him down in a few seconds, but you weren’t with him… and you were overthinking again.
Sighing, you turned to your side, grabbing your phone from the nightstand, your clock read 4 in the morning. Levi was probably awake by now, with the different time zones and all. You could call him, but what if he was busy with an interview or recording something important? It wouldn’t be the first time you interrupted a recording session.
You held back the desire to hear his voice and settle for browsing through Instagram. You entered Levi’s profile and smiled. He posted a picture from the day before. His undercut was a little long, and it must have been driving him crazy.
Tomorrow It would be the third week he was gone. The tour was a pretty long one and the two of you barely got any time to do a video call. When you were trying to sleep he was awake, and when you woke up he was knocked out cold, exhausted from playing in front of thousands of people.
Tears started to spill out of your eyes, and you knew it was dumb. But you were so frustrated. You wanted to talk to your boyfriend for a little longer than five minutes, and have more interactions than a few texts over the course of a day, but he was fulfilling his dream, and you would support him every step of the way, even if it meant having to endure lonely nights.
A notification popped up on your screen. Hanji’s name displaying on the app.You opened your conversation with her and dread chilled your body, almost as if someone had poured a bucket of cold water over you.
“(Y/n)!!! Help!!”
Your heart started o raise, thinking something bad had happened. What other reason she could have to type that kind of message at four in the morning? Your fingers rushed to the keyboard, typing quickly, anticipation squeezing your heart.
Hanji replied came, and you laughed. Of course she had forgotten about the time zones.
Tumblr media
There was no way you could sleep after those intense moments of fear had passed. You replied with a few laughing emojis, and Hanji typed again.

That was going to be your new background picture. He looked handsome, and another wave of nostalgia hit you. As you were changing it, you decided you would call him, no matter if he got mad at you for not sleeping on a weekday.
You opened the calling app, but another message popped up. This time it was Levi’s. The butterflies you always had every time he texted you erupted, and an exited squeal left your lips. Thank god he couldn’t hear it or the little tease would have pestered you about it.
Tumblr media
A smile stretched on your lips at his question. Levi was always considerate, and he was missing you like crazy if he talked to you no matter the late hours.
Your heart swelled with love, and you typed.
Tumblr media
Missing him sucked, but it was worth it if, at the end of the day, you could get to hear his voice, telling you all about his adventures around the world.

Levi: “Years of dating a drama queen taught me invaluable tactics. Like the whole ‘Let’s eat out’ situation that turns into: ‘Okay, what do you want?’ ‘Anything.’ ‘Italian?’ ‘No.’ ‘Seafood?’ ‘No.’ ‘Then what?’ ‘Anything.’”
“So now I use this foolproof technique and it works every time.”
Levi walks into the bedroom where Y/N is laying on her bed. Levi: “Let’s eat out tonight.” Y/N: “Ooo, what are we getting?” Levi: “Take a guess.” Y/N, eyes lighting up: “Are we getting sushi?!” Levi: “Yes. Go get dressed.” Y/N: Kisses his cheek “Yay! I’m wearing that new dress.” Y/N leaves the room. Levi, deadpan: “…Sushi it is, then.”

This Too Shall Pass Characters: Levi x Reader Word Count: 1103 words
Every year, in late summer, the firm you work for hosts a charity ball at a grand estate. The house is a stately, nineteenth century red-brick affair surrounded by a breath-taking expanse of lavish gardens. On this warm evening the venue has all the splendour of a wedding reception, only lacking those soft, floral touches - the bouquets and elegant centrepieces and wide-brimmed hats and bobbing fascinators. But even without such frivolous details, there is that unmistakable magic created only by the gathering of unlikely people upon a beautiful night laden with possibilities. Somewhere, amongst the rich history of the manor house, the low lights and swish of elegant fabrics, there is the promise of wild and exciting things to come.
With all the champagne and heat and activity you find yourself craving fresh air. As the evening has cooled, the French doors leading to the terrace have been closed. Even so, after you have stepped outside, you can still hear the clatter of furniture from within as the circular tables and chairs are dragged to create room for the dance floor. Every so often the muffled sounds are punctuated by a burst of throbbing music. You assume that the speakers are being tested in readiness for post-dinner dancing.
You lean against the terrace’s narrow stone balustrade and savour the gentle breeze against your warm skin. Instinctively your hand moves to your clutch bag in search of cigarettes. It has been some months since you vowed to quit. Uselessly, you fiddle with the metal clasp knowing that there are none inside.
Instead your attention lingers upon the rolling greenery which surrounds the estate. Hidden paths sneak off under canopies of low-hanging branches. There’s a glow cast from lanterns suspended from the taller trees whilst fairy lights embellish the dark walls like tiny stars. Here and there, little whispers of romance beckon.
The music from within suddenly amplifies. As you turn, that’s when you see… him.
Levi closes the door softly, places his hands in the pockets of his grey suit and begins to walk towards you. The breeze stirs his dark hair. As his eyes meet yours, something unspoken within you lifts. Something winged and beating, something almost impossible to contain. And yet, you must, for Levi’s own solemn expression gives nothing away.
“Sorry about before.” He joins you, leaning with his back against the balustrade. “...I had to go help them set up the karaoke machine.”
You utter a small gasp of laughter. “Really? I bet Oluo can’t wait to get on that!” You grin at him, Levi returning the gesture with a wry smile of his own.
“Yeah… except that it meant we didn’t get to finish our conversation.” Levi lightly scuffs a shoe against the granite. “I know it was bad timing, given… everything you said.” You look away, your face burning. Levi lifts his head to take in the night sky.
“I didn’t want to leave things that way. That’s why I was looking for you.”
It takes you a moment to drive down that dreadful feeling; to turn the key upon it. Hope.
“Well…” you answer finally, chancing a look at him. “...here I am.”
That sombre expression has resurfaced, and yet, there’s a warmth in Levi’s eyes. He studies you as though with perfect clarity; as though capable of reading your deepest secrets on the map of your skin. Then, almost perfectly on cue, a dreadful caterwauling begins.
You both gasp and wheeze at the noise. Something about Levi’s husky, breathless laughter makes you break into an even wider smile.
“That’d be Oluo’s opening piece,” he chuckles. Your laughter slows as you both lapse into contemplative silence. Levi looks out over the grounds and then turns to you, his face half in shadow. The glint in his eye has faded. In its place, there’s a shade of something akin to regret.
“Oh.” It’s all you can manage to say. “I see.”
The silence imposes itself between the two of you. You release your breath slowly. Those caged feelings have ceased all at once. Now you feel… nothing at all.
Levi is still watching you as though on the brink of an apology. The music and hubbub of enthusiastic voices filters through the closed doors. Outside in the chill air, the wall of silence seems insurmountable, obstructing every possibility before it has started from your lips. Almost as the strain nears breaking point, an ugly thought rears. Steeling yourself, you ask the question to which you fear the answer.
“It’s her… isn’t it?”
Your eyes dart to his face. Levi is gazing out over the darkened grounds. Then he dips his head by the smallest fraction.
You nod too, a sardonic smile curling upon your face.
“Have you heard from her? Do you even know when she’s coming back from this research trip…?” Your intention is far from cruel. Even now there isn’t a single part of you that wants to hurt him. And yet the question hangs there between you like a blade waiting to slice the tension.
“...not yet.” Levi pushes himself away from the balustrade. Hands stowed within his pockets once more, he crosses to the far edge of the terrace. “At this rate, it’d be easier for me to fly out there than keep waiting…”
Without meaning to, Levi’s words bite into you. It takes every inch of your strength to flatten the emotion from your voice. It takes even more, an unthinkable amount of resolve, to remember how much his happiness means to you… even if you are not the bringer of it.
“I… hope you two work things out.”
There’s a scrape of gravel as Levi turns around to look at you. His eyes narrow in discomfort. With another shallow breath, your fortitude begins to crumble. The words fall unchecked before you can prevent them.
“And if I’m being even more honest… I hope that you don’t.” Envy rises like acid in your throat. You attempt to press your lips into a firm line but a tremble runs through them. You blink, the trees and terrace starting to blur before you.
“I hate feeling like this…” you utter in a voice brittle with defeat.
Levi approaches you, despite your secret longing to have him leave you alone under the empty sky. You turn your head away. With a small gasp of shock you feel his hand take yours. His palm is warm against your knuckles as his fingers curl beneath your own. His kindness is worse than his cruelty could be.
“It’ll pass.”
Your throat is too tight to speak. You press his hand back in reply.
This Too Shall Pass
So, for those of you who don’t know, Sailor (@sixpennydame) and I arranged a little writer’s duel. The rules were simple - reverse shipping. Sailor was challenged to write a Levi x Hange piece whilst I was asked to write some Levi x Reader. Please find her brilliant (and highly recommended) take on Levihan here. And here's mine! Levi: “You know what disturbs me?”
Y/N: “What?”
Levi: “When people are in the middle of a business meeting or huge family gathering, with grandparents and all… and a couple casually says, ‘We’re trying for a baby,’ like it’s the purest, most innocent thing ever. And everyone’s like ‘Aww, so cute, blessings, yadda yadda…’ Meanwhile, it’s literally the only moment where you can publicly say, ‘Yeah, he’s pounding me every night like I’m a kitchen drawer that won’t close. At this rate, I’m basically a walking milk factory,’ and everyone just smiles sweetly.”
Y/N: “…Thank you. That’s now the only thing I’ll think of the next time someone says that.”
Levi: “Great. Now I’m not the only one who finds it fucking awkward.”
