Hadn't drawn Leyya and Zojja being the Cutest Wives Ever in a minute, so have some playful wives. Leyya loves being a distraction when Zojja's got work to do, let's be real.

Leyya, do you know where Zojja is? I can't seem to find her

"As much as I'd like to tell you that she's off on some grand adventure, she's honestly just spending most of her time tangled up in red tape with the council. Especially considering how much she's been needling Ludo during all the Tyrian Alliance nonsense.

And to be fair, she's glad she has the position. She can push back on Flax and Yahk, and she's always keeping an ear out for... you know. Interesting gossip I can share with my good friends.

But most of the time it's listening to fiscal reports, going over budgets, being the tangle vote that keeps the Inquest from scrabbling back too much power, and making sure the less progressive councilors don't try to take advantage of our new alliance with the rest of Tyria's major world powers.

I just wish she'd take the time to get some more sleep. She comes home exhausted constantly, then goes straight to tutoring Chuui. She keeps falling asleep on the couch during dinner.

But... yeah. If you really need to talk to her, I'd check the council chambers first."

So I have a few!

First, Laxzzi and Batanga. Batanga shows up in the asura personal story, but she and Laxzzi met before that. Laxzzi had fled the Inquest the year prior to the PS and wound up with the Order of Whispers for protection. Placed with Batanga to train, the pair had great chemistry, but it took an entire year before Laxzzi realized Batanga was coming onto her. The pair officially started dating as of the fall of Zhaitan, and are married as of EoD.

Next is Tress and Zrii (also from the PS!). Tress was not her original name, but while infiltrating the Inquest (which Zrii had concerns about), she was found out and experimented on for months, splicing her DNA with that of various plants. After she killed her captors and escaped, she took the name of her experiment number and went searching to find the one thing she remembered from before: Zrii. The pair has since reconnected, and grown close again as Tress has recovered. Apparently those feelings die hard.

Following that, Yao and Ympp! Ympp is NOT bright. But he certainly does his best. And Yao is very "you're stupid; I like that in a man" about him. They met after Ympp joined up with the Dragonwatch Krewe in Cantha and started "discretely obtaining" items for them. Though they butted heads at first, they're a fun, energetic couple.

And I can't forget Rosie and Braham. Bonding through S1, the pair had their hiccups in HoT, but have remained steadfast throughout. With shared mom trauma and red hair, they have a lot going on. But they're truly a battle couple in the sincerest sense of the word.

And seguing into that: Qirri and Taimi (and Gorrik and friend's character Zanthe). Qirri and Taimi met as Zojja's apprentices and developed a close friendship. Over time, that relationship grew into something a lot more, and the pair started officially dating in IBS. Later they added in everyone else, and they're a happy little polykrewe. (No art with everyone yet but we'll get there.)

And last... Leyya and Zojja. The Girlfriends of All Time. Having met when they were children in progeny school, Zojja was initially hesitant about the much more boisterous and friendly Leyya, but they developed a strong bond as they grew up. Leyya often lent a hand as Zojja dealt with the commanders, and her loyalty knows no bounds. Wild how Zojja ended up on an extended vacation with her girlfriend instead of that fever dream, isn't it? Anyway Leyya did get possessed for her, but they're dealing with it and learning to recover together at a friend's place in Lion's Arch. (Kid art is mine, the sketch page is by @morgacht, and the screen is from a photoshoot with @wisp-enclosure's clone she made.)

The Space Between

It had been a long day at the soap shop, and everyone was exhausted by the time the sign was flipped to "closed". So many people had stopped in to pick up last minute gifts, and many were not as patient as they could have been about the shop being low or out of products at that point in the day. "Does anyone want to actually go out and celebrate tonight?" Leyya asked as she watched Odetta come into the back and slouch into a chair. "Sheesh, kill the vibe more." This came from the meerkat perched in a tube near the ceiling. "No one asked you, Cepir. And you lost your stupid hat." "Ah! My fez!" From the other end of the table, Zojja shook her head and laughed. "Don't let him wind you up like that. Besides, there's still time to freshen up. Soon as Sheridan's done, one of us can." "Don't worry about me." Odetta finally looked up from where she had collapsed onto the table, head on her folded arms. "I'm not going anywhere but to bed with the leftover scones and tea." Zojja glanced from Odetta to Leyya, as the other asura shrugged. "But what about Zio and Iialli..?" "He's new, so of course he got assigned duty tonight. And Iialli is busy at Pheazza's because a ship came in with new inventory." "I see..." Leyya looked up as Mabon drifted in from the kitchen, sporting an apron that read "Mursaat do it Unseen". "Mabon, what are your and Sheridan's plans?" "Oh, nothing complicated. I plan on enchanting myself to look like a sylvari so we draw less attention, then wine and sweets on the beach. Why?" He looked at Odetta as she groaned softly. "...have I said something to offend?" "No, because that sounds wonderful!" Odetta sat up. "What about you two?" she asked while gesturing at the two asura. "Oh, we'll be heading to the Grand Piazza for an event! A combination fig tasting from an orchard in Cantha and lecture about mutualism!" "Don't think about it," Leyya muttered. "Why?" Odetta just stared at Leyya, face full of confusion. "You don't... oh. You don't know. Never mind. We'll bring you back some figs if we can." Odetta frowned, both at Leyya and at Zojja as she muffled a snort of laughter. "Okay. Thank you. I think." At that point, Sheridan came all but tumbling down the stairs and beamed as they caught sight of Mabon. "I'm ready!" "I should say," Mabon replied with a chuckle. "You're certainly eager." "You two have a good time," Odetta said as she made herself smile. "It sounds like you're in for a lovely night." "Thank you Odetta." Sheridan stopped briefly to give the woman a hug, as Mabon worked his magic to transfigure himself into a tall male sylvari with silvery birch skin. "We'll see you later!" "We should be off as well." Zojja got up from her seat. "Don't want to be late, after all." Leyya reached out to pat Odetta's hand. "I'm sure you'll have a nice evening in spite of everything," she said. "Chin up." Odetta watched them depart, locked the door behind them, and then set herself to cleaning the shop. Once that was done, she retreated into the kitchen to finally make herself tea, only to hear someone knocking. "You gonna get it?" She sighed before looking up at Cepir, who was lounging in his 'kitchen globe', an orb that Mabon had crafted and added to the pipe network so he could be included when everyone gathered in there. "I am considering it." "Well consider faster. They're knocking hard enough to rattle the walls." She rolled her eyes, but went to the door. She unlocked it and pulled it open hard, eyes shut while raising her voice. "We are closed-" "Even for Valentine's gifts?" She finally opened her eyes. Iialli was smirking and holding a box of chocolates, while Zio was standing over her and grinning as well, a bouquet held in his hands. "I... I thought you two had work," she finally managed. "Phee said she would manage without me. Can't speak for him." "I let the Zio charm do the work for me." Odetta folded her arms across her chest. "So you're in trouble." "Probably." He started to turn away. "Do you want the flowers or not, princess?" She grinned for the first time in hours. "Get in here, you two."

What better way to spend a Wintersday evening than with your wife, talking about silly things you both got up to in your childhood?

Had a rough, lonely Christmas Day but I wanted to get a sweet lil piece of the wives out, enjoying a cozy cuddle in their Wintersday pajamas. They were probably a gift from Leyya's mom, but they don't mind. Leyya and Zojja are content enough so long as they're comfortable and spending some time together.

Welcome to the Rat Party!

A sideblog for @ratasum to answer questions IC, with sketches and periodic screenshots, for three of my mains (with periodic appearances of Leyya's lovely wife, Zojja). Rules and introductions will be listed below.

A brief introduction to the three asura you can ask questions of on this blog:

Leyya of Pruri (trans woman, she/her, lesbian) A skilled associate within the Order of Whispers, Leyya was Zojja's childhood best friend and grew up alongside her. They remained close despite going into different colleges, and as things started heating up during the Personal Story, Leyya served as something of a liaison, keeping track of the Commander during her work with the Order of Whispers. Between getting a kryptis stuck in her head in Heart of Thorns, her long hiatus with Zojja in Lion's Arch after, and her near death during SotO after her possession overtook her, she's had a time. She's still extremely friendly and a little goofy, spending her days as (in her words) "Zojja's trophy housewife" while Zojja tackles her new job as a councilor. Currently, Leyya is helping to raise her baby sister Chuui after winning custody from her father.

Kippa of Suzzi (cis woman, she/her, demisexual) Originally from the lost asuran city of Rata Thauma, a cube that was above the doomed Thaumanova Reactor an was destroyed when it exploded, Kippa lost her entire family with the exception of her uncle, Steward Gixx of the Durmand Priory. She started traveling with Rhenn when he took on the role of Commander, distrustful of him initially. Over time, as Rhenn grew away from the Inquest and Kippa got to know him, a rapport grew between them, growing into attraction much later. During Icebrood Saga into End of Dragons, she discovered her terrifyingly powerful healing magic was - in fact - a result of her connection to the Elder Dragons, coming into her own as the Oracle of Aurene. She served as the Wayfinder during SotO, though currently she's taken a back seat after the birth of she and Rhenn's first child, their daughter Suzzi.

Rhenn of No One (cis man, he/him, bisexual) Born and raised in the Inquest, Rhenn spent most of his life in the shadow of his father Overseer Prikk in the Applied Maginetics lab in Metrica Province. He spent his entire life thinking that he was just a normal asura growing up within the megakrewe. When his father sent him out to approach the Priory after the disastrous mission on Claw Island, he just thought he was completing the Inquest's mission. Followed by his "assistant," a captive charr named Iuno, and the soft spoken Priory healer Kippa, he worked his way through his time as Commander, growing further away from the Inquest as he realized how wrong his understanding had been. It wasn't until S4 that he learned he was designed to be a weapon, grown in a lab to be the proof of concept for a line of custom made super soldiers for the Inquest, his resulting furious outburst causing him to crush his father's head with his hammer. Though he took the sideline during SotO, he's back to it in Janthir Wilds.

RULES

You can be flirty but remember they're all in relationships! You can ask about characters related to them, as well (like asking Leyya about Zojja or her family, Kippa about Gixx or her lost family in Rata Thauma, or Rhenn about his parents or lost sister).

PG13 at best; I do draw adult work but I won't be drawing any for this blog in particular.

I'll answer antagonizing stuff but I'll cut it off if it gets too mean/nasty.

So we didn't take our og commanders (Oaklinna, Vezz, Garrus, or Rissia) into this because they've all retired. Instead, two other members of the guild got tapped to help: Leyya and Odetta. Leyya being mine, I'll talk about her.

She's had a time of it. She's a childhood friend of Zojja's, which eventually blossomed into a very close relationship as adults. She tailed the actions of the commander(s) and DE mostly to keep an eye on her old friend/not-girlfriend/lover, and was usually staying with Zojja whenever she stopped somewhere.

In HoT, though, she had a fit of anger and grief after Zojja's injuries... and in looking for some way to help (see: get revenge), she got herself possessed by an ancient demon named Cepir, living inside an onyx dagger called Rapacity.

And for the most part, she'd been in hiding after that. Too scared and ashamed to show her face to Zojja while she was recovering in Rata Sum, too worried at her own control to seek help from anyone else.

For the last couple years she'd been staying with Odetta in Lion's Arch, until this most recent excursion, when they went to look into things in the absence of the commanders and the Dragonwatch Krewe. And imagine her surprise at waking up to find herself face to face with her long time companion.

After that, it was a blur. Dagda made certain she knew in no uncertain terms that eyes were on her and they would not hesitate to put her down if she lost control of the "thing" in her head, she and Zojja have been struggling and dancing around reconciling long held feelings, and now she's been hearing Peitha in her head. And while Peitha pushed out Cepir (the demon still has a grip on her soul, but has mostly left her mind), that hasn't quelled her unease any.

If it wasn't for Odetta and Zojja being present, she might have lost control.

She doesn't trust Isgarren (especially seeing his methods), and while she doesn't trust Peitha, she's at least been present the entire time. Annoyingly in mind or not.

Right now she's torn on how she feels. She's been asked to stay, but there's unease there.

We'll see what happens.

Can't stop thinking about my Commander Vale in the new Expansion.

Even with her Mate and friends at her side, she is so freaking done of all the World-Rescuing-Business thrown at them.

And depending of what is going to happen in the next Story Instances... I have the feeling it won't end well for this woman. She is very vulnerable in the Events of SotO and definitely has to thank Peitha, that she didn't got possessed by someone else,...

She is so close to quit everything. Maybe she will retire after SotO or even during Soto (but not willingly) aaahh the angst. I'm here for it.

Meanwhile Valefor: Having the time of his life punching and ripping demons apart... wth is wrong with you...

Before the final fight with Eparch, Zojja steals into the quiet side room in the infirmary at Skywatch to give Leyya a kiss on the forehead. Regardless of what choice she knows she's going to have to make, they both need this moment, even if Leyya can't feel it.

My first entry to OC x Canon Kiss Week (a day late), a bittersweet moment before a tense decision that has the potential to change both of their lives forever.

In mine and @wall-legion's stuff, since Zojja returned home post-SotO leaving Logan to continue wizarding it up? A year passes between SotO and JW. In that time, about six months in, Leyya and Zojja are interrupted in their long vacation in Cantha with the krewe with a tempting piece of news: Councilor Haia finally got caught for all her crimes and there's an open council seat.

With a chance to finally take apart the system that harmed her, Leyya, many of their asuran friends, and both of her apprentices, as well as continues to allow the Inquest to rub shoulders with them and even do important project work that affects asuran society as a whole?

Zojja jumps at the chance.

Of course, being a councilor is a lot of work, and while she loves the challenge, the rest of the council can be an absolute chore to deal with. She does have Leyya to vent to when she gets home after a long day, but it's still stressful.

But that doesn't stop her from immediately volunteering to be the councilor present at the great Tyrian Alliance meeting...

And a follow-up to Zojja's councilor fit, Leyya's "stay at home wife" gear. Getting possessed and having her physiology altered by that possession messed with her stamina, so while she's still staying fit, she stays home a lot more. Having stopped doing wet work, both for Zojja and for the Order of Whispers (though she does still do some Whispers work in Rata Sum), she's let her hair grow out and gotten some piercings.

Of course, that means that when Zojja's not busy with Arcane Council work, she gets to be a pest and provide stress relief and a much needed/welcome distraction from dealing with the likes of Flax and Yahk while digging her heels on in the inside.

Leyya's improved a lot, though, and being able to vibe at home has helped her significantly. She's not constantly feeling like she has to be useful to be loved, and finding some peace in that fact.

I usually talk about Qirri, so let's talk about the other girl on my mind today. The Whispers infiltrator herself, Leyya.

Childhood best friend of Zojja, something a lot more than that as they grew up. Sassy and sly, she's quite affable and gets along well with other people... all the better to help her with her work in the Order of Whispers.

This did often land her in sticky situations, though eventually her work leaned far more towards assisting Zojja in the lead-up to the fight against Zhaitan. It was her that led Vezz's initiation into the order, and she stuck at Zojja's side through the work in the dungeons, there with everyone in Fort Trinity after the beast finally fell.

She had a rough time in Heart of Thorns, however. Separated from everyone, it wasn't until she made her way back to a camp, battered and exhausted, that she learned what had happened to Zojja.

Grief stricken and furious, she delved into the coffers of the Order, finding an ancient sealed box containing a mysterious dagger.

And after offering blood from her forearm to the thing, the creature possessing it burrowed its way into her mind, possessing her. She was able to fight off its worst urges, hiding away, guilt eating away at her, too ashamed to show her face to Zojja or any of their friends again after such a foolish mistake.

Though she does eventually find her way back...

For Day 2 of OC x Canon Kiss Week, the aftermath of the shiner picture. Leyya finally making her move and stealing that first kiss (like she steals a lot of things that aren't nailed down). They then spend the next twenty years determined not to define what was going on between them.

The time between the frantic fight against Leyya's possessed form and the final showdown with Eparch was a tense one. Everything was up in the air, Leyya wasn't remotely well enough to join Odetta, Zojja, Logan, and the rest of the ward to face off against Eparch one last time, and Zojja remained torn on remaining with the wizards and going back home to Tyria.

But there's always time for one more last minute, and a moment of anxious but tender peace between two women whose lives have been intertwined since they were kids, getting into trouble together in class.

Trying to stay chill and collected while your childhood best friend/college crush checks out the shiner you got from picking a fight with someone you heard talking shit about her at the inter-college campus cafeteria.

In Leyya's defense, you should see the other guy. (Not a defense that Zojja is buying all that much.)
