Michael Kaiser is a man who knows best to get under someone's skin. From countless interactions you've observed over the time be it during matches or behind the scenes- that, you're certain.

And from experience too, much to your chagrin.

A pain in the ass and a walking migraine inducing component as he may be, there is something to him that you always find yourself in the same room, drawn to your demise- not like a moth, no, you'd like to hold hope that whatever runs between the two of you isn't somthing as blinding and vulnerable as that- but you cannot deny there is still an attraction none the less.

Analytical and always knowing where to hit where it hurts most, everything he does is with a purpose. Be it the way he he behaves, speaks with people, which name he uses, whether he gives in to their desperation for a physical connection or remain a cold composure. This, of course, ends with an extremely touchy Kaiser on your side that you've learnt to make peace and live with.

It's almost depressing to think about it, really. How your resolve couldnt hold out any longer and you admited defeat on this front. But what's to follow is somewhat nice, you try to comfort himself. Always a hand around your waist, on your thigh, fingers intervining with yours-- a constant reminder that he is right besides you and he'll never leave you.

Other behaviours though, begin to present after a while- a recent development, you write them off as. Now his hands find your shoulders, kneading into your skin like you're dough for him to shape, placed on your abdomen and rubbing gentle circles, a finger at the nape of your neck, playing with the sensitive skin there; the last one he seems to favor more than the rest. You don't really alert to the action until you catch sight of his phone one day.

For someone who likes to show off, it hadn't even fazed you one bit when you saw a photo album dedicated to the two of you that's not quite safe for public eye. This is Kaiser after all, every oddity he seems to display soon become the new default in your mind- ruining your experience of the world.

So when your thumb scrolls down the numerous photos you don't even recall being taken- mostly without either of your faces but his hand and parts of your body as clear as day- you cannot even find it in you to react.

Your finger comes to a stop as you open a photo in particular. His hand wrapped around your neck, thumb pressing right below your carotis artery, from his rough hold parts of your skin already flushed and his index seeming to be lightly trailing your collarbones with his middle finger to keep company. As you stare at the photograph, you can feel his hand on you again, his digits dancing on your neck, moving up and down slowly, making sure to idle and stroke the areas where you strongly react. Chuckling at the sounds and twitches you make whenever he pinches and presses against a sensitive spot. You'd think maybe this is his payback, or just a preliminary to it.

You've got to admit, from an artist viewpoint, the photos do look.. pleasing to the eye. An aesthetic sense to them, the colorful dark lightning only adding to the atmosphere.

With a sudden shake of your hand, you close the app and put down his phone in a rush but his laughter reaches you before. "What were you staring at so intensely, hm? Found something you like?"

Headcanon that before the group got together, each ninja had a fear of each other’s element.

This is some old stuff I found in my notes app, but here’s the list of their fears

Kai: Water

Cole: The Incomprehensible (Lloyd’s power)

Zane: Lightning

Jay: Earth

Nya: Fire

Lloyd: Ice

I also found the reasoning for each one too, I altered a few things form the original version though

Kai: His fear of water is shown in the show as he doesn’t know have to swim. Self explanatory, but let’s also just say that as a kid he had the same fear and when he used to see Nya swimming he’d get super anxious for her. Perhaps also the innate uncontrollability of water made him uncomfortable because he could always put a fire out but how quickly could he drain water? I think also the difficulty tied to swimming also makes him feel like he had less control and therefore enhances the fear.

Cole: Fear of the incomprehensible is primarily because I don’t think he’d have very many feats of physical things. He was shown to free-climb mountains without any gear and honestly a lot of the fears at he develops in the show are based primarily on issues with himself (especially when he was a ghost). The fear of being forgotten is also pretty major at some point too. All of these are more so concepts, and I think it’s fitting if he’s afraid of something he can’t understand, such as Lloyd’s strange and seemingly ever-growing powers.

Zane: His fear of Lightning wasn’t due to any event he had experienced, but rather just some instinct that made him cautious of electricity. Since he didn’t know about being a robot before joining the team, he’d have no clue that lightning could potentially mess with him on a degree very different to a human. So he never knew why he had this fear, but it was still prevalent.

Jay: I feel like Jay was almost much more interested in the air and sky. He grew up in a junkyard in the middle of an empty desert so I really doubt he had anything other to look at. Plus lightning being is the sky during storms. Also he has so many themes tied to the sky (his makeshift wings, his vehicles tending to be jets/planes, etc). The reason why I bring this up his because I don’t think he ever saw how big mountains could get—or when he did it was briefly—so perhaps he has some form of fear in regards to how towering they are and how they’re so different from the consistency of the sky and desert.

Nya: Now originally I had Lloyd being afraid of fire, but I switched it around for specific reasons. Nya was afraid of ice because it was so much more rigid and intimidating than the flowiness of water. Now that I have her afraid of fire, I think it’d be more based that lack of control. It parallels with Kai’s fear, both of them finding that the opposing element is difficult and impossible to control in some way or another. For Nya, fire scared her because one ember or spark was enough to burn down homes or villages, that an uncontrolled fire is almost impossible to put out even with plenty of water.

Lloyd: Now his fear of ice is mainly tied to the Cole. Ice meant cold, snow, blizzards, winter, etc. I don’t think that he actually stayed in Darkleys the entire time he was schooled there. I feel like Lloyd would’ve ran away multiple times, only to come back when harsh conditions struck. And when it came to him being kicked out, he didn’t actual have somewhere to come back to. He was left out in the cold, subjected to whatever weather was currently happening. Not to mention the first interaction he had with Serpentine was in a cold, icy environment.

Of course, I don’t think they’d show their fears around each other or perhaps they had already outgrow their fears before the team was created, but it does offer for some interesting headcanons and story material. It can also be a nice thing to, with them overcoming their fears because they grew fond of the person who has control of the element.

The "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series at Disney+ has added an unexpected pick to its growing cast.

The new live-action series is based on the hugely successful novels from author Rick Riordan of the same title. We will be seeing YN LN join the series as Rina Velasco, one of the supporting characters of the show.

LN's Rina Velasco is referred to as "the offspring of The Muses, goddesses of the sciences and the arts." Unlike most other demigods, she is born out of the artistic and scientific output of the muses. When the moral ingenuity of humans meets the divine musings of The Muses. Her character is described as a unique allrounder who becomes a mentor figure to our main cast as they embark on their journey.

This will be LN's first on-screen role of her career. LN's experience mostly lies in Broadway, she is known for playing Kim in the Miss Saigon revival on Broadway. LN was nominated for a Tony in 2022 for the same role. She is repped by Salonga/Chien Entertainment and B817 Agency.

Riordan posted on the Meta app, Threads, about this update to the casting saying: "YN was one of the actors we didn't expect to see a tape of but when we saw it, we couldn't help but fall in love with her. She embodies the spirit of Rina so well and is such a kind spirit, we can't wait for you to fall in love with her too! Welcome to the cast, YN!"

The live-action show is based on Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson book series. It tells the fantastical tale of the titular 12-year-old modern demigod (Scobell), who's just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover (Simhadri) and Annabeth (Jeffries), Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.

Production on the show is now underway in Vancouver. Riordan and Jon Steinberg are writing the pilot with James Bobin directing. A/N i truly hope you guys can forgive the horrible editing in the pictures. the article portion is based on (and has some parts that are directly pulled from) this article from variety ! here's some succint information about rina velasco, the PJO character YN LN plays (and is my childhood OC!) - rina velasco, filipino, 18 years old (year younger than luke) - she's an offspring of the muses, not directly a child or daughter, though she may be referred as such - by her being an offspring of the muses, i mean that she was born in the same way athena's children are born. - but in rina's case she's more like a weird conglomeration of each muse. her birth is a rare event, but her mothers are honored as minor goddesses so she stayed in the apollo cabin (connection to music) - rina operates as a guidance figure for the main trio, especially annabeth - she's also luke's love interest, there's a lot of tragicness and doomed romance stuff with those two - and for the sake of everyone, we pretend like the weird i love you from the books didn't happen !

Is there any world building in pjo that you just don't fuck with?

the fact they can't use fucking cellphones 😭😭😭 it's so unbelievably stupid and it's the piece of PJO lore that's aged the poorest, in my opinion

Like I don't fault Rick for writing the Lightning Thief in 2005 and including the idea that demigods can't use phones because uhhh..... monsters can somehow detect them that way. Cell phones back in the early 2000's were not at all what they are now, and I don't blame Rick for not being able to predict just how dependent on smartphones all of modern society would become just a handful of years later.

But the fact it's so poorly explained to this day drives me crazy. Like how do monsters actually use phones (and the internet/modern communication methods in general) to track demigods??? Do they have sensory organs that allow them to pick up radio or cellular waves? Is it intuition in the same way that you could summon a god by praying to them? Do they find a potential demigod and physically wire tap them like the fucking feds???

Rick has repeatedly implied that monsters have some unique means of just knowing when a demigod is using modern tech, but has never come out and firmly said how. It honestly suggests to me that all these years later, he's never figured it out or wanted to try. And instead of retconning this kinda silly and nonsensical idea in HoO, he kept it but never developed or fixed it, either.

Granted, there's ways it could make sense. Like the idea that modern tech kinda rejects demigods and leaves them vulnerable to monsters could be cool and creative if done well. It also enhances the idea that demigods are out of time and not really meant to live in "normal" mortal society. But again, only if it's done well.

I really do wish that Rick gave up on the "no tech" idea at some point and made it so that Leo or someone else designed a cell phone that's safe for demigods to use, or maybe something a magic SIM card that protects them from monsters. Or something like a monster-proof VPN that tricks them into thinking a demigod is in a whole other region than where they actually are. Or he could've had Daedalus invent a phone safe for demigod usage, or have Annabeth find the schematics for a prototype on his laptop after he bequeaths it to her so she could make it herself. Or maybe Rick could've evolved the concept of Iris messages and come up some new way that it could parallel smartphones. Hephaestus canonically comes up with all sorts of inventions in PJO all the time, you're really telling me that he AND Daedalus AND Annabeth AND Leo are all incapable of making a demigod-safe smartphone, or at least a fantasy equivalent?? And that apparently the idea has never ever once crossed anyone's mind?

Insane.

Look, I don't need Percy to be on a quest and pull out his phone to play subway surfers or scroll through TikTok, or do the 2010's equivalent of going on those meme apps with Philosoraptor or watching early YouTube poops. The demigods don't have to use phones. Maybe they could keep them just for emergencies since phones can be a huge distraction for teens (oh look at that, Rick could've made some commentary on society). But the fact that they cannot use cellphones or the internet for reasons that have been poorly defined for twenty years now.... is a bit much. And it speaks more so to Rick's abilities as a writer than to his worldbuilding at this point.

Notes on Pluto shift into Aquarius:

-Pluto has been in Capricorn for the past 20 years. On March 24th, 2023 it will finally move in Aquarius. (First for 3 months- then it will retrograde back into Capricorn. It will move into Aquarius in mid November of 2024 and stay in Aquarius.) This shift will do many things for our government and changes in currency. It will also affect our weather patterns drastically, adding an emphasis on unpredictability factors regarding weather events known to specific areas.

Weather change predictions:

Over the next 5 years (especially), the once heavily predicable weather patterns will completely change course. I see storms reaching new levels of disaster, the first ever E6 tornado on record, earthquake events increase with more rain and flooding events being recorded. This prediction is localized to the West coast of America. Lightning storms and damaging lightning events will increase everywhere, including outside of America. And as temperatures continue to rise, so will the seas. This flooding out the coastline city’s of most continents on the planet.

Keeping in mind- with the changes in patterns, certain insects or animals may move locations over this time in order to survive in habitable locations. Expect a rise in new insects and animals (mainly birds) in your location.

Why only 5 years for these predictions?

⁃ Well to put it simply, the next 5 years will be the transition period for Pluto. This sets us up to understand fully what to expect by the midpoint ( which is about 10 years).

⁃ During transitional periods the themes of the transit push themselves into the surface. Refuse to be silenced or ignored. This energy with Pluto adds to the chaotic amount of unstopped change. And with Pluto in the sign Aquarius, is a statement saying very loud expect the unexpected. Aquarius is known as the water barrier- that’s why it will affect things like rainfall, and tide changes. It being an air sign, and having energy that likes pushing limits and making a new category where it will fit, this is how I was able to predict the first E6 on record.

Non weather changes prediction timeline:

⁃ all bills being paid online, offering bigger deal incentives for paperless route. Marketing increases on paperless billing and apps to help pay bills for those more resistant to turning.

⁃ The rise of humans choosing to get chipped and giving up credit cards, drivers license, health insurance card, house keys etc. Instead all information is within the chip. This trend will start on social media and ‘blow up’ via influencers, controversy, and sociological divisions. Some get the chip, some refuse. By the end of the transit many accommodations will be made for influx of chipped citizens. New technology developed to further the expansion once the populations hit 50% chipped.

⁃ Influx in reprogramming citizens to get chipped by 16-20 years of transit. Social media influencers and celebrities being paid off to Alienate those who refuse to get chipped. This sure enough changes the popular opinion of being chipped. Lessening the amount of power the voices who fight this change have in media. They become a part of “cancel culture”, and those who speak down on these divisions frame them as old, outdated, and “stuck in the past”. They also greatly inflate the amount of power “the younger generations have now”.

⁃ by it’s completion, and into the transition period of Pluto in Pisces, paper money will be considered an antique, making its values increase and causing people to get chipped for financial benefits. At the same time, the U.S government has been slowly removing cash within the economy, thus pushing the chip.

⁃ The great influx of new technologies, built from space matter, and secrets deciphered in space.

⁃ Shift from chip to retina scan.

⁃ Air quality decline throughout transit. This may improve during Pluto in Pisces.

A look ahead: (2043-2067)

⁃ Pluto in Pisces: it is important to note that during this time the main shift will be the attitude towards money. The once heavily known “hustle” society that was found in America will be slowly deteriorating throughout this transit. Instead people will be focused more on quality of life, and living self sufficiently.

⁃ A rise in spiritual abilities being confirmed and normalized within modern media.

⁃ A possibility of sabotage of peace, with the release of new drugs. A rise in drug addiction.

⁃ A rise in practical, and common introspection. Those within their prime during this pluto transit will seem more insightful, intuitive, and advanced than others that came before.

(in actuality, watch and ward typically hand off weaponry but they decided to play a bit of match maker after hearing lydia complain about being on dating apps for the 100th time)

he comes into her workshop which catches her off guard as normally she doesn't expect anyone to swing by.

the two end up engaging in small talk, talking about their experiences as henchmen and gary smiling as she goes on a passionate tangent about working with weaponry, sharing that she only thought stuff like this existed in the marvel comics she would read growing up.

before gary leaves with the weaponry, thanking her, he ends up spotting a replica lightsaber that she has hanging in her workshop and geek out together about star wars.

what starts as a nerdy friendship quickly grows as they start hanging outside of the guild more often (mostly because gary was running out of excuses of why he needed to swing by the GSO when sheila clearly was not there)

gary shows her his ideas for his mark-v henchman suit as him and the monarch are starting to arch again and she's fully invested, helping him create this suit that has only existed in his dreams.

after she finishes the prototype and shows it to gary, he pulls her into a tight hug... which then turns into a kiss... and the rest is history.
