Hello everyone and hope you’re doing well, halfway through the week! Today I’m catching you up on what I’m #currentlyreading and it seems I’ve broken my own record - 18 books 🤣 I’m doing better than last time I posted my list with Kingdom Of Asg, I’m 700 pages through, the end is not quite in sight but is round the corner 😅 I’ve also torn through #farfromthemaddingcrowd over the last week and am 50 pages from the end. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for #sapiens which I have very much neglected recently - about halfway through. The end is also nigh for my buddy read with Mr B (not pictured) which we’ve read over an entire year #lightrainssometimesfall New books: After finishing Voyager, I have immediately popped #drumsofautumn the fourth book in the Outlander series on my pile. I’m also reading and loving #theperfectchild which was recommended by my sister @chrissireads My current re-read is #thewhitequeen in my quest to read the Philippa Gregory Tudor novels in order. Then I have my #keeperofkingbookclub choice of #nightshift by Stephen King for the month of January. Just over 3 hours in. 🖥 on my Kindle: #thesundownmotel by #simonestjames as part of a buddy read with @moodyreadersclub 📖 #lifeafterlife by #kateatkinson this is my current re-read and I’m loving it just as much as I did the first time I read it. 200 pages in. 📖 #voyager by #dianagabaldon the third book in the Outlander series, 250 pages in. 📖 #howtoarguewitharacist by #adamrutherford this is my current nonfiction read to continue my learning on how to be the best ally. 📖 #thereturnofthenative by #thomashardy one of my favourite things about this year has been re-discovering this author! I’m about a third of the way through and finding it so intriguing 🤔 10 books - that’s not so bad right? It’s about to get even crazier in October as I’ve signed up to some fantastic buddy reads. Taylor borrowed from @chrissireads (two-thirds of the way through) Dragonfly In Amber - Diana Gabaldon In my quest to read the Outlander series, this is the second book (halfway through) Current nonfiction on the go: Romantic Outlaws: The Extraordinary Lives Of Mary Wollstonecraft and Mary Shelley - Charlotte Gordon This is a chunky beast but I’m loving every moment of it (Almost halfway through). Current re-read on the go: The Lady Of The Rivers - Philippa Gregory I always have a book I’m re-reading. This year I’ve fancied reading the Tudor novels in order historically and this is the first! Almost finished and will probably pick a new re-read from my shelves tomorrow. I’m done! I know you might think I’m a little bit crazy 😜 but I love flipping between multiple adventures. Hello everyone and hope your week has got off to a good start. It’s the penultimate Christmas book haul on my page today and I had to pop these four nonfiction beauties together as evidence of some of the gorgeous covers out there right now. If I hadn’t gone into science as a career I think I would have done something around animal conservation. World of Wonders looks into astonishing creatures around the world. This book is a collection of essays about the natural world and how it’s inhabitants can teach, support and inspire us. Something kept drawing me towards Light Rains Sometimes Fall, a British year through Japan’s 72 seasons. I’m planning to start reading this in February when the traditional Japanese year starts and I’m really looking forward to it! I’d love to start reading more poetry and figuring out what I like and don’t like. In this short book, Chris Riddell has selected and illustrated his favourite classic and modern poems about love. Finally, I was compelled to pick up Fifty Words For Snow. Writer and Arctic traveller Nancy Campbell explores the meaning behind all the different words for snow along with all the fascinating stories behind them.
