Lately I'm asking this everyone but I just really need some new songs on my writing playlist... So - do you listen to music while you're writing, and if so, does it affect the way you write (style, emotions etc.) in any way? And could you share some of your all-time-writing songs or a song that you feel like is really connected to your WIP? I'm sorry if that's been asked before.

I mean I was listening to Swalla by Jason Derulo while hanging Urial so….hopefully it doesn’t effect the style or emotion of my writing, or we’re gonna have some problems. If I’m really, really struggling with the emotion of a scene I might put on some relevant music, but mostly I don’t really use music that way. (I like to think that one of my best writing skills is wielding emotion, so ymmv). 

I tend to have three major playlists: Girl Power, Drama, and Epic Fantasy Crap. Drama has the most overlap with the other two because I am simple woman who appreciates melodrama in vast quantities, so judge me as you will. I also listen to music with lyrics in while I’m writing, which I know a lot of people don’t like or can’t do, but I tune it out pretty easily so I just go with what I like. I’m warning you now that there’s no rhyme or reason to this shit, I just shove songs where I want them.
