my friend's parents adopted a husky that they want to keep outside where there is minimal shade. in the blazing heat of the desert. where it gets 110F easily in spring and and 120F in the summer. That dog is going to be miserable holy fuck. She asks me what will happen if they shave the dog because her parents are already bothered by the amount of shedding and I'm just flabbergasted.

They adopted this husky from the shelter out of the blue without any research because of how adorable and friendly he looks.

I'm hoping my friend fights hard for this husky. I know she wants the best for him because she's asking me all these questions (and she knows the husky will be miserable outside). But jesus christ.

This dog needs to be inside where the AC will be cranked to the max. All running/exercise needs to be done after the sun has set because this husky will overheat.

oh god oh GODDD im so excited for the comic strip scene to appear in fic bc bruce and petey’s hug is making my heart ACHE… specifically the way that the goober leans his WHOLE BODY into it and then bruce places a secure hand on his back and cradles the back of his head ough OUGHHH like that action is so like . yeah you sure are an uncle ben counterpart bc clearly you love this kid with everything you have and are giving him a guiding hand . but also but ALSO something about the movement is so … batman pulling robin under his cape … providing careful shelter to a kid who needs it so bad … like if im dick and i see my father figure and my kid caring for each other to the point of enacting change (bruce being emotionally intelligent and petey letting himself trust + be tactile) im sobbing and throwing up bc my heart is so full . like he cares he learned from his mistakes w me … and my baby who deserves everything gets to reap the benefits and soak up all that honest affection like AUGHHH its all worth it its all worth it

bruce makes me so emotional sometimes because the older he gets the more he learns from his mistakes and the more guilty he feels about his older children and trying to make up for it in every possible way,,, i PLAN for right after this conversation with peter and bruce, for dick to see it and bruce tug him into the hug and AGGHH they make me emotional. bruce was like "i can't get attached because peter has to go home" ans then proceeded to fail at not getting attached. but we all knew that would happen (look at his track record...)

Why can I see Ollie and Kari just chillin then suddenly being like cats and gently head butting each other cuz they both have horns on their foreheads so they don’t hurt each other and it’s just kinda like a casual type of affection for them like how a cat will just bonk you randomly for affection and stuff 👍

this is the dumbest complaint ever but what i do miss with this bird she's just almost always sweet and cuddly. She's got moods yes and preferences for specific people but overall she's an incredibly consistently affectionate little creature. Also the least into playing out of any bird i've ever had. Which isn't a species thing, other birds of the same species do play a lot. And are less cuddly. I kind of miss the unpredictable and slightly malevolently intelligent energy you very consistently get in a lot of larger parrots <- insane person thing to say. i know.

hope this isnt weird but i've been having fun reading your eakwynn takes and i've become very interested in your vision for them !! so i also wanted to ask (if you haven't been asked this before): how are they when it comes to physical intimacy? what about verbal intimacy? which one does each of them prefer? (it can be something else that's not physical or verbal too)

Never feel bad for giving me more excuses to ramble about eakwynn. Getting asked about them is like opening Christmas presents to me!

Anyway- they're both very physical people. Eak cannot go one episode without pulling Towntrap around, and Owynn canonically both hugs Springtrap and fantasizes about hugging Fox, two guys he just met. Once they get comfortable with each other there is never a moment when they're not touching in some way. Not necessarily in the "making out literally everywhere" type of touching some teen couples have, but rather in a subtle way- like they're always holding hands or locking arms or leaning against each other in some way, but they save the more affectionate stuff like hugging or kissing for when they're alone. But yeah they very much prefer this one.

Verbal intimacy is more... Complicated. Since their relationship started out being antagonistic, they're both initially unwilling to open up to each other too much. Trying to get Owynn to talk about his feelings is already like pulling teeth without the whole messiness that came before their relationship, and Owynn's unwillingness to be honest with him made Eak respond in kind, which meant they were pretty stuck for a while. They kind of relied a lot on non verbal communication early on, because giving someone a gift or a hug in place of an apology was much easier for Owynn than actually saying the words "I'm sorry" out loud, but that can only get them so far, you know?

I think the main issue would be that there's an imbalance in how they see verbal intimacy: Owynn has been so closed off from everyone that to him, he's actually being too open with Eak! He's told Eak things about himself he's never told anyone else ever!! Meanwhile, Eak has two best friends that know basically everything about his life, so he notices really easily how often Owynn will want to avoid certain subjects, or evade difficult conversations, or bottle up his feelings- and it kind of pisses him off that Owynn is so insistent on pursuing him but still keeps him at arms length. It's very much like, dude, if you're so afraid of being vulnerable around me why are you even dating me!!!

It's kind of why I've always imagined eakwynn as the sort of ship where they break up and then later get back together, or they only last if they start dating later on rather than during the show or directly after it- I think Owynn is the type of guy who needs some time to mature and grow by himself before he can be a good partner. Get a job, experience more in life, make some friends hopefully. Eak is a patient guy, but he's not trusting enough to lower his defenses if he thinks Owynn isn't going to do the same for him, and he doesn't have enough emotional intelligence to make up for Owynn's utter lack of one. So better for him to wait until Owynn is at least somewhat capable of communicating to work on things lol. But they do work on things eventually!

But uhhhh yeah they're very good on the physical side, very not good on the verbal side 👍🏻

peter being a cuddlebug is so important to me... (enough so that i plan for steph to call him that as her nickname for him) like they barely manage to escape dick sometimes, how in the world are they gonna say no to peter when he wants to hug??? they can't. ever. i hope to have some moments where it shows peter is truly comfortable with all of them (i.e. peter flops onto a couch with tim and they take a nap, peter hangs off of jason's shoulders ((advantages of being spider-man)), chilling with duke with his feet on duke's lap, etc. not even damian will be spared. bruce, too) i'm a big fan of platonic cuddling and it's just too cute to pass up on

also just monster taming games have always been big comfort game vibes for me going back to when i was a kid - being neurodivergent and socially awkward and sort of looked down on (because when i was in school pokemon wasn't seen as something cool yet lmao - more as something kiddie and a mark of your immaturity), the monsters in these games really did feel like my friends and in a way they were there for me and got me through a really rough and awkward time, as dumb as that sounds, i knew i could always come back to them and they'd be there for me. and if the game ever gives me the option, you can bet i'm gonna give them names - and take down the scariest monsters out there, all with cuddlebug the darkrai by my side lmao.
