Hey I loved the headcanons you did for Marcy you did a good job! Think you could do ones for Anne and Sasha as well?
Thanks! And Sure! I’ll do them individually so expect Sashas one maybe atleast sometime tomorrow or the day after!
Tw: Mentions of stalking, general yandere stuff
Anne would def have a hero complex like even with small stuff like helping you with your homework like she’d even know how to do it herself 💀
And it’d have to be specifically her like if she saw someone else helping you she’d flip because what do they think there doing? Your her damsel in distress
I feel like before Amphibia she wouldn’t be that bad like maybe follows you around everywhere to the point it’s considered stalker-ish and maybe seemingly seems obsessed with borrowing your stuff and them never being returned
During and after Amphibia though? Oh boy….
I feel like she’d attempt to be have a more dominant controlling personality towards you like Sasha but it wouldn’t be Anne per say and more of attempting to be like Sasha particularly in the earlier episodes she’d be like that
Is probably the least worst out of the three like if you looked at her then at the other two she’d say she isn’t that bad lol
After Sasha and Marcy betray her she kinda loses it
I mean it’s not like she thinks you will betray her but she knew Sasha and Marcy ever since kindergarten and they betrayed her in barely even minutes she’d kinda lose it
“Listen s/o i can’t and won’t lose you either! I’m sorry, this feels like the only way i can trust and not lose you….”
(You guys can interpret what she meant by that 🙃)
I feel like the one thing she’d have as a advantage is the planters i mean she’s Anne! Im sure they wouldn’t question her weird obsession with this other same creature in fact i don’t think they’d understand and think it’s “cute” even
Is def overly affectionate like either hand holding, lots and lots of kissing even if your not dating she still would and especially lots of hugs like especially if you both splitted up girl would never let go of you 😭
After how much confidence she’s gained through Amphibia she would become somewhat possessive when you get back it’s best not to underestimate her especially with all those combat moves she’s learned 😭
Might be off key but i feel like she’d have some sort of ego thinking she’s the only one that’s best for you and nobody else could possibly treat you as could as she could! I mean, she’s Anne Boonchuy! Might be somewhat manipulative without realising it
“You really think (insert person) could treat you as good as i could? After everything we’ve been through at Amphibia?! I’m sorry s/o but you really can’t see what’s right and wrong for you!”
Overall i feel like Anne wouldn’t be as bad as the other two which is why it’s so short 😭 but still has the upper hand yk yk with how likeable she is i feel like she could easily win you over or get others to help her but overall that’s kinda it I’ll try to post Sasha’s tomorrow since I’ll be kinda busy with school and stuff sorry it’s so short 😭

Sasha Waybright, Marcy Wu, and Amphibia’s Greatest Storytelling Flaw
Well, here it is folks. The essay that’s been a long, long time coming.
Anyone who’s even remotely familiar with me knows that I’m a big Amphibia fan. I’ve been writing fanfiction for nearly two years, and have been making regular posts online about the show in general since the end of season two, from predictions to character analyses to memes. I’ve followed the show from the very beginning, drawn in by the colorful world of Amphibia itself and its charming cast of characters, particularly main character Anne Boonchuy and her adoptive family the Plantars. With a mix of hilarious jokes, an engaging plot and fantastic chemistry between the main cast, Amphibia proved itself to be a very good show.
But I can’t call it a great show. Amphibia has many strengths, but also its fair share of weaknesses. And today I’m here to talk about the biggest flaw that, in my mind, really dragged the show down and kept Amphibia from reaching its full potential. I’m talking of course, about how they treated the characters of Anne’s BFFs Sasha Waybright and Marcy Wu.
Before I get into the meat of the essay, my usual disclaimer: the opinions you’re about to read are mine and mine alone. You’re free to agree with all, some, or even none of them. Entertainment is subjective by its very nature, and everyone has the right to their own opinion on whatever media they choose to consume. I’m just here to give my opinion, not to attack anyone that thinks differently or to convince them that they’re wrong.
Having said that, let’s finally dive into the reasons why Sasha and Marcy being sidelined by the narrative has negatively affected the story as a whole. Spoilers below the cut since I’ll be talking about events throughout pretty much the entire series, especially season three.
But first, seasons one and two. Marcy and Sasha were practically non-existent in season one, the former only being briefly mentioned once or twice while the later appeared in just three episodes and served as an antagonist to Anne in the season one finale by allying with the oppressive toads opposing the frogs of Wartwood and trying to force Anne into submission when she stood up for her friends and found family.
But even though they weren’t present physically, Sasha and Marcy still cast a shadow over season one via the influence they had on Anne before the events of the show. As early as the second episode we see how Sasha and Marcy warped Anne’s view of friendship with her talking about how you do whatever your friends ask of you, even if you don’t like it, lest they stop being your friend. The biggest part of Anne’s arc in season one is her growing out of this mindset, with Sprig showing her what real friendship can be like. In this sense it works for Sasha and Marcy to be virtually non-existent in season one as the show’s main focus is on Anne and her character growth, and even then the other girls are still present in the form of Anne’s background.
Then we have season two, where the story of the girls’ friendship gets a bit more complex with the introduction of Marcy. In sharp contrast to Sasha, Marcy is shown to be delightful and friendly, if a bit scatterbrained. It’s only until A Day at the Aquarium where things take a dark turn after Anne leaves Newtopia with the Plantars and King Andrias offers Marcy a strange deal. This little detail lurks in the background of the rest of the season until True Colors finally revealed the truth: not only was Marcy directly responsible for getting the girls sent to Amphibia to avoid moving and losing her friends, but she also helped Andrias get ahold of the fully-charged Calamity Box under the pretense that the girls would get to use it to go on adventures through other worlds and never have to be apart. These revelations nearly destroyed Marcy’s friendship with Anne and Sasha, leaving her emotionally broken, and finally resulting in her nearly dying when Andrias ran her through with his sword trying to stop her from using the box to help Anne escape.
Although Sasha continued to have minimal screen time, she had her own important arc in the background with planning a rebellion with the Toads. During this time she also learned of Anne and Marcy not only reuniting, but working directly against her. Tying into her behavior in season one where she reacted negatively to Anne’s growing independence, Sasha doubled-down on this attitude and became determined to reestablish control over her friends. All of this came to a head in the first half of True Colors, where Sasha’s betrayal not only nearly destroys her friendship with Anne, but erodes the girls’ trust in her to the point where they help Newtopia defeat the rebellion and ignore Sasha’s warnings that Andrias is planning something awful with the Calamity Box.
Sasha and Marcy worked very well in season two. Not only was Marcy’s entire character and background some brilliant storytelling, but both she and Sasha continue to serve as foils to Anne’s continued character growth. Throughout season two Anne continued to grow as a person, becoming not only more independent but more responsible and compassionate as well. She accepts that she’s changing for the better. Sasha and Marcy however continue to cling to the past in a desperate attempt to stop things from changing: Sasha not wanting to lose her absolute control over her friends, while Marcy didn’t want to lose her friends at all. Both girls have shown that they do care deeply about Anne, but their personal flaws leave them hostile to the concept of change, and True Colors served as a wakeup call for just how destructive their attitudes can be.
Which leads us to season three, where everything came crashing to a halt.
I’ve talked about this many times before, so to basically sum up my main problem with the first half of season three: it feels like the narrative itself forgot about Sasha and Marcy. Each of them got a focus episode to advance their own personal stories - Sasha becoming a rebellion leader in Wartwood, while Marcy is possessed by Andrias’s master The Core - but aside from these, the rest of the episodes all take place on Earth with Anne and the Plantars. And they’re only mentioned a handful of times.
First off, it’s bad writing from a meta sense that literally no one on Earth seems to care that Sasha and Marcy are still missing. Basic logic dictates that if three teenage girls vanish without a trace and one comes back months later with no sign of the other two, it would draw attention. But not one single person ever questions Anne about this, even though her fellow schoolmates refer to her as “the girl who went missing.” With how much emphasis is placed on how Anne’s absence affected her parents and the local community, it’s just jarring that not one single person would comment on the other two teenage girls who are still missing.
Then there’s Anne herself, who seems to just completely forget about her best friends still trapped in Amphibia, one of whom was stabbed through the chest right in front of her. Of the stabbing she says once that Marcy “has to be okay,” and once expresses a desire to rescue her friends and mend her friendship with them. All of this happens in the first episode; for the rest of the Earth arc, Anne gives zero indication that she’s thinking about her friends in any capacity, despite the fact that one could be dead and the other could be in serious trouble, being trapped with the mad king who almost killed the first. And that’s not even getting into the serious repercussions that Sasha and Marcy’s betrayals would have on their friendship.
Yes, it is made clear in her dialogue at the start of The New Normal that Anne still wants to fix things with Sasha and Marcy. We’re told upfront that despite everything that happened Anne still wants to fix things with them and have a better friendship with them, serving as a culmination of Anne’s personal character growth over the first two seasons. But this is then undermined by us not being shown any evidence that Anne is thinking about Sasha and Marcy.
To understand why this is so frustrating, let’s go back to earlier in season two in After the Rain. This was the episode where Hop Pop’s burial of the Calamity Box and lying to Anne about it comes back to bite him when the box goes missing and the truth is revealed. Anne was horribly hurt by Hop Pop’s betrayal, and even though she accepted his apology at the end of the episode, Anne didn’t forgive Hop Pop right away. She developed trust issues with him as seen in The First Temple, issues that she and Hop Pop had to work through. Things between Anne and Hop Pop were awkward for a while, a natural consequence of Hop Pop’s actions with the Calamity Box.
Now go back to True Colors and season three. In the season two finale Anne was betrayed a whopping three times: first by Sasha who used her to stage the Toad Rebellion; then by Andrias who revealed himself to be a world-conquering despot; and finally by Marcy with the revelation that she got them all sent to Amphibia in the first place and lied about wanting to get them home. This caused Anne to develop trust issues that she had to work through in season three: as seen in Fight at the Museum when Anne would rather risk stealing an artifact that might be related to Amphibia rather than asking Dr. Jan for help, or throughout the first quarter of the season when she couldn’t bring herself to tell her own parents the truth about everything that happened in Amphibia.
The point I’m getting at is that when Anne has been hurt before throughout the show’s run, we’re given clear evidence of how the betrayals affect Anne’s behavior. Yet throughout almost all of season 3A we’re given no evidence that Sasha and Marcy’s betrayals affected her - which should have had the biggest impact on Anne as they were her closest friends and Anne thought things were finally improving between the three of them.
Some have suggested Anne is merely repressing her emotions about Sasha and Marcy but again - we see zero evidence of that. Aside from a mistrust of older authority figures - which is more of a reflection of Andrias’s betrayal - Anne just acts like her usual bubbly peppy self. For crying out loud, after a few minutes have passed in-universe after Marcy was stabbed through the chest right in front of her, and Anne is raving over having wifi again.
What’s worse is the show didn’t have to turn into a complete angst-fest. This didn’t have to be some kind of Steven Universe Future deal where Anne slowly has a complete breakdown over the course of several episodes. But at the same time the show had so many opportunities to show Anne was thinking about her friends, in that she could have reacted to the numerous signs of Sasha and Marcy’s existences.
For example she could have looked forlornly at their initials carved into her bedpost, or stare at Sasha’s graffiti tags before turning and walking away. Or in Fixing Frobo when Polly angrily accuses Anne, Sprig and Hop Pop of “not caring that her best friend was dead,” that was a perfect opportunity to give Anne a haunted expression as a background detail while Sprig and Hop Pop continue the conversation. Little tiny moments like that could have easily been inserted into existing episodes without disrupting the flow of the stories.
Speaking of the episodes, there’s another issue with season 3A that circles back into the larger problem of the narrative ignoring Sasha and Marcy: almost all episodes take place on Earth, focusing on Anne and the Plantars.
Now don’t get me wrong, the Plantars are good characters and integral parts of the story. Sprig showed Anne was true friendship was like, as opposed to the dysfunctional mess she had with Sasha and Marcy, while the Plantars as a whole taught her valuable lessons about honesty and integrity. But we already had two full seasons of Anne and the Plantars, where we also had plenty of time to get to know the Plantars themselves.
With how True Colors so brilliantly showed Sasha and Marcy the consequences of their toxic mindset, season three should have been their season. A season for them to finally recognize their flaws, work on atoning for their mistakes, and work on mending their friendship with Anne and each other. And we do see that… for one episode for each girl.
Turning Point shows Sasha is shown to be remorseful of how she treated Anne and becomes leader of Wartwood resistance, which then proceeds to mostly take place off-screen. Meanwhile in Olivia and Yunan, during her rescue Marcy acknowledges how bad it was that she got all the girls sent to Amphibia and wants to make things right with them, only to have her get possessed by the Core. (Which led to its own problems, but more on that later.)
After two seasons of building up Sasha and Marcy in the background, weaving them into the cast in season two and having their plans to keep things from changing blow up in their faces in True Colors, season three was the perfect chance to really focus on Sasha and Marcy’s growth and development. Instead we only get two episodes with them, with all the rest being about wacky adventures on Earth that are basically a rehash of season one but with Anne and the Plantar’s roles reversed.
Now we did sort of get the development in 3B, but before that there’s one last major issue to talk about with 3A: the lack of Sasha and Marcy’s families. In Froggy Little Christmas we finally get Anne acknowledging her friends by writing letters to their families, ensuring them that their daughters are alive and that Anne will get them home. Where does the story go with these letters?
Absolutely nowhere.
Literally nothing comes of this, as it’s only one more episode before Anne and the Plantars finally get back to Amphibia, and the other girls’ parents don’t show up at all. Going back to what I said earlier, it’s downright baffling that the show would explore how Anne being missing affected her parents, while completely ignoring the parents of the other two missing girls. Furthermore, seeing the parents could have given further insight into Sasha’s and Marcy’s characters. Rather that seeing two separate letters to indicate Sasha’s parents are divorced as a way to explain how Sasha developed her controlling personality, it would have been far more effective to actually see Sasha’s parents in person and how they react to their daughter missing.
This goes double for Marcy’s parents, as it was their decision to move that kicked off the plot in the first place. From their perspective they drove their daughter to run away, so did they feel guilty about that? It’s implied that they eventually moved anyways, but why? Did they think their beloved daughter was gone for good and blame themselves for driving her away before moving because staying in LA was just too painful? Or were they horrible people who didn’t care about Marcy and eventually moved because a job was more important than their missing daughter? Any information on them at all could have given us a whole new perspective on Marcy’s personality and why she did the things she did to hold on so tightly to her friends. Alas, we can only wonder.
Now eventually the show does make its way back to Amphibia, and credit where credit is due, the story finally picks up again. There’s even a trust subplot between Anne and Sasha where Sasha acknowledges what she did was wrong and wants to be better while Anne wants to trust Sasha but has trouble doing so. There are some bumps in the road, but ultimately Anne and Sasha are able to work through their issues because their friendship is worth it. It’s essentially an awkward transition period in their relationship.
The problem here is that while all of that is going on, Marcy is completely sidelined due to her possession, with Darcy being an endgame threat for Anne and Sasha to overcome in the finale. The girls do eventually talk about Marcy’s betrayal in The Beginning of the End. Sasha is hesitant to forgive Marcy for everything she did, despite still wanting to be friends. Anne doesn’t deny Sasha’s feelings of being hurt, as Anne was hurt too. But she acknowledges that they weren’t the best friends to her even before Amphibia, and that while forgiving someone can be hard, it’s worth it when you really care about them. (She says while glancing at Hop Pop, in a brilliant bit of visual storytelling.)
Marcy meanwhile is finally seen again, in the penultimate episode All In. There she has a brief subplot of finding herself in a seemingly perfect mental world, complete with versions of Anne and Sasha who will be friends with Marcy forever. But she quickly realizes this world is just an illusion, that her companions are only hollow copies of her real friends. When cast into a void by an angry Core, all Marcy can do is say how sorry she is for everything she did, and hopes that Anne and Sasha can forgive her. Which they do, thankfully, in a heartwarming scene after Darcy is defeated and Marcy is freed.
All of this was very well-done… but at the same time, it feels kind of hollow. Marcy didn’t get the same awkward transition period in her friendship with Anne and Sasha as Anne and Sasha got with each other. Yes both girls acknowledge that what Marcy did was wrong but want to forgive her and be friends again, something that Marcy acknowledges herself. But to have them all have these moments separately instead of as a group just feels incomplete. With how much emphasis the show has placed on the girl’s friendship as a whole, it seems jarring how Anne and Sasha would have to work on mending their friendship while Marcy was forgiven instantly upon her rescue.
Now this could have worked if it had been used as a metaphor for the girls’ pre-Amphibia friendships. Anne and Sasha had an unhealthy follower/leader dynamic while Anne and Marcy got along much better, therefore she had to work to trust Sasha again while forgiving Marcy came easier. But there’s one little thing missing that makes this feel incomplete as well: we barely know anything about Sasha and Marcy’s relationship.
At no point are they ever together on screen without Anne, who naturally takes most of the focus in regards to their friendship as a whole. Without Anne around, what is Sasha and Marcy’s dynamic like? We get virtually no context aside from Earth flashbacks indicating that Sasha was somewhat dismissive of Marcy. And since we have no clue how close they actually were with each other (compared to Anne’s separate relationships with Sasha and Marcy, which the audience is very familiar with), it gives less emotional weight to Sasha’s overwhelmed joy and relief when she and Anne finally rescue Marcy.
To cap off the full-series overlook on Sasha and Marcy, I will say I really enjoyed the ending. Seeing the girls finally unlock their true Calamity forms and the massive battle that followed was incredible. And I especially loved the time-skip epilogue, showing the girls in a very realistic light: they naturally drifted apart as they grew up, what with Marcy moving and Anne and Sasha’s complicated past. But they’re still friends that keep in touch, with Marcy even flying out to visit Anne and Sasha on occasion. It’s beautifully done and the best ending for the trio, while still leaving plenty open to interpretation for the fans to imagine where the story goes next. Some might argue that it seems odd that Anne and Sasha would still drift apart after everything they went through in Amphibia, or how Marcy’s parents still made her move after everything that happened. (Again, almost no clue as to what they’re like.) But the fact remains that all three girls still care for each other, are still involved in each other’s lives and now have a stronger, truer friendship.
Amphibia as a whole is a really good cartoon, but its treatment of Sasha and Marcy is the biggest flaw that holds it back from being great. Not only are the girls interesting characters themselves, but both are deeply integral to the story. They were used well in the first two seasons and the finale, but the way almost all of season three ignored or underutilized Sasha and Marcy really drags the narrative down and makes the story feel incomplete.
Just to be clear, all of this was my own opinion. It’s up to the individual reading this how much they agree or disagree with. I for one would love to hear the community’s thoughts on how Amphibia handled Sasha and Marcy. Feel free to reply to this post, or just send me an ask with your thoughts and questions.
Until next time, peace from the heart my friends.

Hey it is me again, translating my Discord messages from French but with even more speculation this time! (Seriously, stay aware that I’m speculating a LOT) Lately I was thinking about the Calamity Box, particularly about the gems, and I wanted to discuss it a little. I will begin with the girls' use of their powers to follow up with something bigger. So, I noticed that we are shown the usage of the powers 7 times. 5 for Anne, 1 for each of the other two. And what jumped out at me was the "reasons" for these usage, which are to be linked to both the gems' and the girls' natures. - The Heart, giving most of the examples we have, is Anne. Each time she uses her power happens for ONE reason: to act for others. For Sprig, two times, for the Plantars, two times and finally one time for her family. - The Strength is Sasha's. And for whom does she act when she makes use of what her gem offers? Herself. - The Wit is a little trickier, because Mar-Mar is between the two. We could think that, as she's going to save Sprig, her reason is like Anne's, "for the others". But that isn't really the case, because it's mainly for her. Because if she does this, it is to prove to Anne that she really changed. She uses the powers of the Wit to be acknowledge by the others. It is "for the others", but it is in the end mostly "for her". So it is "calculated", and... Yeah. It's worthy of the Wit. But if those powers "help" them to a certain extent, why is it that bad? It helps to save the day, no? Well, it's a little bit more complicated, as those powers enable the girls' flaws. And that's where the temples come into play. We'll try to go back to the beginnings. We have, for now, few details about the origins of the Calamity Box. There are two explanations on its past, Valeriana's one and Andrias' one. So we have two approaches, a "spiritual" side and an "energy" one. What I think about it is that Andrias and his ancestors' usage of the box came after. It is a powerful source of energy, but I would say that Andrias' ancestors, the conquerors, stole the box from Valeriana's cult to make it their main source of energy and a means of transport between world to conquer them (therefore bringing other species on Amphibia, greatly messing about with the place). The thing is that without the stones, the box is nothing. It is a channel, like Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet, which is used to stop the gems' energy to diffuse and make a mess, so to focus all this energy in a powerful dimensional energy device. But I'm convinced that the gems hold a will of their own, or at least the energy within does hold it. It isn't consciousness, but it is something who seek to be used separatly from the others. And especially separatly from the use that can be made of the box. There is two ways to prevent the gems from making a mess: Firstly, there is Valeriana's cult's method. Probably sealing the box and using the temples, but there isn't really information on it so we can only speculate. And then there's what were doing Andrias' ancestors, draining the Calamity Box's energy. In an ironic way, while using it for very bad reasons, they were doing a good thing without knowing it. When the box was stolen from Andrias, it was unused for a very long time afterwards. Since the Viking Age, apparently. So I come to the conclusion that the energy contained in the gems charged up for a long period of time. This has multiple consequences. For a start, I would think that the gems, and by extension the box, tend to, like the One Ring, attract some people, the ones they choose as their "hosts" to use them selfishly (or half-selfishly, like the Heart, but I will come back to this later) because it is by their primary nature that the gems express themselves. Hence Andrias' and his ancestors' interest for it, or the fact that Marcy was "attracted" by the box (now I'm just speculating a lot, I don't think that the gems can that much manipulate fate, just that fate was for Marcy to come across the box and the gems influenced Marcy so that she would indeed steal the box). But this mainly has two effects. First of all, the energy wave that appeared when Anne opened the box, that we never saw at any of the other moments when the box was used to open portals. But also the fact that the gems entirely unloaded their energy inside the hosts they chose, aka the girls (and that's why I specified that it was the energy within the gems that had a will of its own, and not the gems themselves). The thing is, the gems are still a little bit important for the use of their energy, because they are a vessel anchored in reality, a source of energy more concrete than a human envelope that works more as a conductor than as a generator. That is why, even if the girls had all of the gems' energy within them, they only could use a fraction of it. And when Anne still shared a bit of energy inside of her, a connection formed between her and the gem, the one the gem would usually require. This connection is very powerful by the way, as it works even between worlds (so no wonder why when we gather all three gems' energy, we can travel between worlds). So as a consequence, Anne can use all the energy the gem can offer. But even if it helps her to save her family and her friends, the gem still isn't “good” though. Because each time she uses her powers, her body energy is a lot more drained in the process, because the gem's energy isn't meant to be borne by anything than the gem. The gem's energy doesn't care of its host, other than having one. It wants to be used. At what cost? It doesn't matter. This will of its own doesn't have any consciousness, moral code or a concept of good and evil. It just have a certain way to be used. Those ways being what I said earlier for the three girls, and we see that it isn't really good for their personalities. And as we see for the Heart, aka Anne, for their bodies too. And that's where the temples' lessons come into play. Besides being guidance for the girls and thus helping them to grow up, those are mainly recommendations to use the gems' power in a safe way: - The Heart requires responsibilities. A responsible way to use its power. To not sacrifice yourself for anybody at any moment. Because a use too many can lead to awful consequences. So you need to choose the right moment parsimoniously. - The Strenth requires persistance. A way to encourage the others to follow you, to surpass themselves. An iron will to not tremble in front of challenges requiring the use of the gem of Strength. We don't have any example of what could happen, but... Given what Anne must endure, I fear the worst for a gem that could make your muscles explode? - The Wit requires humility. Because too much abuse of the gem of Wit's powers makes you lose touch with reality, makes you overestimate your capacities. Makes you neglect others. And the consequences can be disastrous. The temples, in addition to distribute wisely the energy contained within the gems, are the keys for a good and safe usage of the gems' powers. And to open the bolt of the roles the girls locked themselves within, they really need those keys.

One thing that I'm excited about Season 3B is the possibility of seeing the "greatest fear machine" be used again. I know it was destroyed in 'Olivia & Yunan', but I bet Dark Marcy will put it back together again for... reasons.
For Marcy, her greatest fear is to be abandoned by Anne and Sasha. And, as people have mentioned, she didn't confront this. Of course, this will most probably be solved when they confront Dark Marcy so all is fine.
But you know what's interesting to see? Anne's and Sasha's.
Here's how I imagine it'll go down:
Anne and Sasha, once the other characters have distracted / immobilized King Andrias at the upper floor, will go to the basement (the location where Marcy got possessed). They will be hit by those eye machine thingies on the wall and their greatest fear will be projected.
For Anne, her greatest fear is most likely gonna have to do with her family - her parents and the Plantars. She'll see them in danger, they'll beg her for help, and she'll go to them. This separates her from Sasha. When she confronts her two families, the machine is gonna force her to choose who to save - something like that Spider Man movie where Peter have to choose between Mary Jane and a school bus full of kids.
For Sasha... it's about being treated like she's beneath everybody. Anne saved her in the correct story, but here, Anne chose to be in other people's side because popularity, I guess (referencing Season 1 Anne where she got the zits), and this greatly traumatizes her. That's why she wanted to be in control so much - particularly to Anne - because she wants to make sure that Anne chooses her out of anything or anyone.
Either that or it's about her parents getting divorced over and over and over again in front of her eyes. No matter how much she "destroys" the image, it just keeps coming back and this breaks her.
OR it'll show her all the horrible things she had done and someone or something telling her that she'll never be redeemed ever.
Hero stuff happens: Anne is able to save both of her families and Sasha as well. Then they confront Dark Marcy.
Sasha is still shaken up by the fear OR she's too preoccupied with something else so she's gonna in the sidelines.
And this is where Dark Marcy and Anne can be alone.
Interestingly, they're still going to be inside the machine as Anne and Sasha do not know that they need to destroy the eyes. And Dark Marcy can take advantage of that, showing them several more things that they fear.
Dark Marcy can use this time to convince Anne to use her "bad" powers to get them all out (and for her entertainment too because sassy Marcy is sassy) but Anne chooses not to because of the time limit and because she doesn't want to hurt Marcy's body.
Additionally, maybe Dark Marcy can even show how much they've "wasted time" on Earth/Wartwood and show how Marcy got possessed, causing them to be riddled with guilt and other emotions.
This is partly inspired by some Season 1 episodes of Steven Universe (I'm currently watching it right now and so far, it ain't bad) and my defensive reasoning why Season 3A is the way that it is.
Overall? Season 3B angst. That is all.

Ok here me out but, Sonic Underground Amphibia AU. Now, you may be asking, “Zack, what does that mean you absolute wet napkin” and I have answers.
Basically it’s Amphibia, but it’s the Sonic Underground cast, with Sonic as Anne, Sonia as Sasha, and Manic as Marcy. Except in this au the triplets would be humans and get zapped to a strange land called Mobius. I have some ✨ideas✨ in terms of who would be what, although there are some spoilers so I’m putting them below the cut
Sonic as Anne
Obviously we would have to put Sonic in the main character place, he would be a normal teen that gets zapped to Mobius via a strange jewel (aka a chaos emerald) that his brother found in a thrift store. Shortly he first arrives in Mobius, he is found by
Tails as Sprig
The second oldest child of Vanilla, he is Sonics best friend and an all around sweet heart tbh, he has two siblings, including an older sister
Amy as idk just pretend there’s another Plantar Kid
Amy is the (mostly) level headed eldest child of Vanilla, being about the same age as the triplets. (Also disclaimer, Sonamy is not a thing in this au)
And a younger sister
Cream as Polly
Cream is the youngest and only biological child of Vanilla, she’s very sweet and kinda naive sometimes, which is why her siblings have to keep her out of trouble.
Vanilla as Hop Pop
Vanilla is a mother who lives on the outskirts of town with her three children, she’s more than willing to take Sonic in once he’s been proven to not be a threat.
I think that Cosmo should be Ivy Sundew partially because she’s a canonical Tails love interest and partially because I love her, but idk who would be the assorted Wart Wood (I hope I spelled that right) villagers, if you guys have any ideas let me know.
OK SPOILERS for Amphibia season two past this point, and a few for season three, not many though as I probably won’t be getting into season three territory as much.
Sonia as Sasha
Sonia is Sonic’s sister and the oldest of the triplets, she kinda has a bit of a Gifted Kid complex ngl, when she fist showed up in Mobius she joined The Eggman Army through unspecified means (aka I don’t remember how Sasha joined the toads)
Eggman as Grimes
Ok I know what you may be thinking, why isn’t Eggman Andreas? Well I’ll tell you, it’s because I like kinda stupid almost anti-hero Eggman who really isn’t evil and just wants to fight Sonic and helps the gang out sometimes, aka X!Eggman. Eggman is Grimes.
Knuckles as idk imagine that Grimes has like, an apprentice or somethin
Another one where I’m inserting a character into a nonexistent slot, I know this doesn’t really make sense but I want Knuckles to be friends with Sonia and also have something to do with Eggman.
Manic as Marcy
Manic is Sonic’s brother and the youngest of the triplets, he has a bit of a stealing problem, it was never to serious, a swiped pencil or other trinket, but eventually he started mixing in with the wrong crowd in school, this got him into a lot of trouble. After a particularly ambitious “prank” gone wrong, Manic gets picked up by the cops, this leads the triplet’s mother, Aleena, to consider sending him to a boarding school of sorts. Not wanting to be separated from his siblings, Manic runs off and finds a mysterious gem that is rumored to be a gateway to other worlds. He calls his siblings to come and check it out, under the guise that it’s a birthday present, unfortunately, they accidentally activate the gem and end up in Mobius.
He’s also a vocaloid fan, and yknow that scene when Marcy first shows up? When she slides down the rope? Well when Manic does that he’s playing World Is Mine by Hatsune Miku
Manic ends up in a city called Mobotropolis, where he meets the king of Mobius.
This is where it gets a little tricky, because I am not well versed in Sonic villains, and I haven’t played any of the games beside Forces, so if any of you guys think of a better person for Andreas’s role let me know
Infinite as King Andreas
King Infinite is the benevolent king of Mobius, who decides to appoint Manic as his royal advisor, he’s very nice and kind and- haha jk he’s evil. He wants to go to Earth using the power of the Chaos Emeralds and stabs Manic, then possesses him with Phantom Ruby juice or somethin
Vector as Commander Yunan (I hope I spelled that right)
Idk I just think it would be funny
Espio as Lady Olivia
He’s kinda similar to he I guess, I just think it would be funny for Team Chaotix to have an episode with Manic
DISCLAIMER: I KNOW THAT ALOT OF THE FANDOM SHIPS OLIVIA AND YUNAN BUT THATS NOT HAPPENING HERE BECAUSE ESPIO IS A CHILD AND VECTOR IS A WHOLE ADULT, VECPIO SHIPPERS DNI
Also just imagine that Olivia has an assistant or somethin and that’s Charmy
Oh jeez almost forgot, Frobo is Emerl, this is because I grew up on Sonic X and in Sonic X Emerl is a robot that Cream adopts, but has to punt into the ocean because it went haywire, and I think that works for this.
Let me know if you guys have any ideas for this, I would love to hear them!
#sorry this is a mess#I’m not very good at this kinda stuff#also I wrote this down like with no pattern whatsoever#long post#sonic#sonic underground#Amphibia#amphibia spoilers#sonic au#i’m not tagging all the characters

if youre still doing ship asks, what do you think of dovebriar (dovewing x briarlight) or sashannarcy? (sasha x anne x marcy)
Dovebriar 8/10, I don't know either of these characters as deeply since I've only barely read one book with Dove in it but this is a lovely ship! Dovewing has that lovely autism swag and I think she'd be super supportive towards Briarlight and just treat her, ykno, like she deserves. They could confide in each other about their mistreatment from the rest of the clan. They both probably feel really alienated from it and the cats around them. It's kinda like, the other one is needed too much to the point that she's tossed around and used like a tool (Dovewing for her super senses) and the other is seen as good as dead bc she's apparently useless and that's the worst thing a warrior cat character could be (Briarlight). They hate on ableism together. Bc I really feel like Dovewing also experiences that (she's autistic I'm just. I barely know her but this I do know she is autistic I am shaking her paw respectfully). I might be more invested in this ship if I knew these characters better! Other than that nothing much. It's sweet!
Sashannarcy 7.5/10?????ish? I'm on the fence about this one. I really feel like Anne has a great thing going on with Sasha and Marcy individually but personally I couldn't really imagine Marcy and Sasha romantically?? Idk why. I'd give it a 8/10 if it's like, this is Anne's two girlfriends who are besties with each other ykno? I feel like that works. I could be wrong too though?? Shrugs? Definitely don't find anything particularly wrong with this ship either I'm totally vibing with bestie polycule either way 👍 they deserve each other. In a Nutshell it's good but I feel like it could be even better somehow. I may or may not change my opinion on this?? Not sure if I can quite word it here. Maybe bc Sasha and Marcy didn't have that much (implied or on screen) interaction 1x1

Ta da!! A Drabble!! My only warning, I didn't edit. Hope u enjoy :)
Anne stared at the house in front of her. It had the same wooden brown door with the yellow pane at the center. It was the same two story, white walled, and green roofed home. With the same front yard. Nothing had changed.
It made her feel nauseating.
For a moment her eyes shot up to the second floor’s right window, half expecting to see Marcy waving at her, but all she saw were the green curtains. They sure had a lot of green…
Okay.
She could do this.
She just needed to, to… to walk on over and knock, hope Marcy’s parents answer, explain to them where the three of them have been, how they ended up there— but maybe not mention that it was Marcy’s fault—, how they tried to come back— but not that Marcy didn’t want to—, tell them that they all tried their best, tell them that Marcy had been murdered— offer her sincerest condolences because while she lost her maybe friend, they lost their daughter— by someone she trusted— don’t mention that she liked her murderer more than her parents—, bring up that she was planning to go back, and that she will avenge Marcy.
That’ll be a walk in the park.
All easy stuff.
Now, she had just had to go tell them all that.
Piece of cake…
Anytime now…
Anne looked down at her feet. Her legs stood stiff, not cooperating. Well, not the direction she wanted to go. They seemed more than happy and ready to walk in the opposite direction. Anne took a quick glance at the sky, it was overcast, maybe it would rain soon.
Obviously she can’t tell them now. She should wait for a better day.
The teen nodded with her new resolve, turning on her heels when the front door opened. Anne made the mistake of glancing at who it was, it was Mrs. Wu, holding a trash bag.
The woman looked equally shocked to see Anne standing there.
Granted, she was missing for six months.
“Hi Mrs. Wu.”
The woman dropped the bag before running over to Anne.
“Anne?”
Guess she was saying all that now.
“How are you?”
Anne cringed as Mrs. Wu came to an abrupt stop, looking at her like she grew a second head. Why would she say that?
“How am I?” Mrs. Wu came to a stop in front of her, her hands began fretting, but never touched her, “Where have you been? Where are Sasha and Marcy? Why did you all leave for six months?”
Anne curled in on herself a bit, this wasn’t going to be easy. Marcy’s mom could be weird.
“We didn’t leave by choice. Wha—”
“Don’t lie.” Mrs. Wu’s hands fell to her hips, oops. Anne wilted a bit, she must’ve activated angry mom mode, “No one vanishes off the face of the earth”— blood roared in Anne’s ears. How could she have known? What gave- oh, it’s an expression… that’s right...— “for six months on accident!”
Anne took a shaky breath, “Well that’s a funny expression to have used, because we actually did lea—”
“Are you—” Mrs. Wu cut her off, rubbing her forehead, “are you trying to tell me you girls left earth?”
“Yes?” Anne’s voice cracked.
Mrs. Wu, if possible, looked angrier, “Go home Anne. When you are ready to tell me the truth you can come back.”
Oh.
That was fair, but that was the truth.
Shit.
What could she say to make her liste—
“Marcy’s dead!”
Mrs. Wu froze, body tense. Anne grimaced inwardly, that was not the best way to say that. Slowly, the woman turned around, face completely flushed with anger.
“She sure is to me!”
Anne’s throat dried. She had to clarify, Mrs. Wu had already made it to the porch.
“She was murdered.”
Mrs. Wu only glared, seething out, “I’ll kill her myself when she gets home.”
Anne flinched as the door slammed shut, trash bag abandoned on the ground. Sure, the house was the same, but everything else was different.
Anne began walking away just as the first few drops of rain began to fall.
Every time someone writes about the Wus I embrace it into my arms, but thank you for the drabble, particularly in seeing how Anne really did botch up trying to spill the beans to Mrs. Wu. Like, yikkkesss Anne.
Right now, I don't know what your full interpretation of Mrs. Wu is at the moment, but I want to believe that this woman is kinda just going through it.
She already saw that Anne is back after months of not being there. Her family is probably broken up and has argued over Marcy for how many months. And despite the appearance of Marcy's friend, Mrs. Wu's daughter is not only just not there but Anne just blurted out she's dead, so holy crap no wonder she's not taking this in stride. How does one take the phrase "She was murdered" without being in denial, I kinda feel bad.
Excellent work! Got me thinking about this line of inquiry in particular, since I never thought about Anne telling the parents in the finer details until now.
Maybe the Boonchuys will do a parental meeting with Wus and the Waybrights about the whole 'so uh, our daughter came back but she's got news of your daughters' situation. Hmmmm.
Would be pretty interesting to see.

Dancing with the Stars Season 29 Week 4: Most Memorable Year, Dedication or Personal Story? Idk. I just write about this show.
We are doing rankings again this week. Maybe next week as well.
Anyway, the show started with a PSA type thing. I honestly didn’t pay attention to it. Tyra’s first look was great. That second one was...a choice. Now let’s get into this.
1. Skai and Alan- Skai is BACK! And let me tell you how nervous I was that Skai was never going to shake off the incident with her samba. And at the start of this dance, I could still see it in her eyes. But after the first few seconds, she settled into it and that’s where the magic really happened. Cameron was with her and helped her get through this dance. She blossomed and moved so beautifully. Her top line was actually the best part of the dance for me. I just loved it. She connected to it. I was totally encapsulated by it. The choreography was gorgeous. I cannot say enough good things about it. For me, that was a moment that I will remember forever.
2. Justina and Sasha- Justina is back too! I love that my top two from week 1 were back in top form this week. Justina had so much (controlled) energy and she killed this dance. Her hips were great. Her technique was actually pretty good. I had an issue with that really weird lift and some of the choreo felt kinda strange and stagnant. But, Justina killed it. I wish she would’ve gotten one more 9.
3. Johnny and Britt- Yep. Johnny definitely has it figured out. He’s not quite there just yet. But he’s not in his head nearly as much and all of the little things that kept throwing him off in huge ways have become minimal. Britt gave him some really challenging choreo and he handled it very well. I think the biggest issue for him is that he still has weird moments where his legs get from underneath his body. It only briefly throws things off, but in a dance like the jive, it is so easy to see. His feet were also problematic.
4. Kaitlyn and Artem- Kaitlyn did a really great job this week. In fact, I would say that even though this week was similar to the previous two in terms of the dance assigned and the feel of it, I think this was my favorite of hers. There were a lot of smaller technical things that I got to appreciate, like her turns and her arms. I actually think she may be the best technical dancer this season. I just want to see her handle a harder hitting Latin dance and see her range.
5. Nev and Jenna- Nev did a great job tonight. He had some nice hip action going in this rumba. His lines are really pretty. He’s a good dancer. I can’t say anything bad there. I can say that I felt like he didn’t really put much conviction behind his arms. I’m not saying that he needs to throw them in the air or be sharp with them or anything like that. What I’m saying is that it felt like he was marking the dance with his arms while full out dancing with the rest of his body. It was a strange contrast for me.
6. Jeannie and Brandon- This dance was extremely underscored in comparison with everything else tonight. I think that outside of the one stumble at the end, this was Jeannie’s best dance to date. She was in control. Her frame was actually pretty good. A lot of the issues from her Viennese waltz last week were fixed. Her footwork was also pretty clean. Had she been at this 21 alone, I could have accepted it. But she was better than the three other couples she tied with and better than the two that got one point better than her. That is where the issue lies with this score.
7. Vernon and Peta- So ranking the next set of couples is going to be difficult. But I think Vernon comes out on top. While I didn’t particularly care for his rumba this week, the improvement that I saw here is what the judges claimed they saw last week. He seemed way more comfortable with moving proportional to his size. I think he had the best hip action for a rumba that we have seen from anyone this season. Now what I want to see is better lines from him and for his hands to not be so flat and low energy. This is a Peta problem. It’s clear that she hasn’t really paid attention to that because it’s not a small miniscule issue. He literally throws his hands in the air and there’s no style or nothing with them. And it has been an issue since week 1. It needs to be fixed to take him to the next level.
8. Anne and Keo- I am actually sad that these two were eliminated tonight. This was Anne’s best dance of the season. She was super focused and was way more steady than I’ve ever seen. Keo gave her some really nice choreography. I think she suffered a bit from the costume though. It seemed to restrict her movements, especially in her arms. I just wish we had one more week with them. I think everything would have come together next week. But we don’t get to see that. Oh well.
9. AJ and Cheryl- I actually did not like this dance. I thought it was very messy. The choreography felt convoluted. AJ’s shoulders were doing a really weird thing where they were raised but slouching at the same time. I hated the holograms. I hated that the other guys were in white and he was in red. I just hated all of it. It was a good performance. But I didn’t like much else about it.
10. Monica and Val- So what I will say about this dance is that Monica is a technician. Her technique was pretty decent. I also thought her timing was good. However, she was stiff and boring. I’m not really sure how this got a 24 if I’m being perfectly honest. A 19 would have sufficed. Now I do appreciate how she got on Val. I’m not sure how or why he has gone this long without realizing that he can get extremely condescending and mean when talking to his partners and that he needs to chill out. It’s been an issue that we’ve seen since season 16. Maybe even earlier.
11. Nelly and Daniella- Okay, the positives first. Nelly really and fully committed to this dance. And they really went for it and were not safe. Now with that said, he had some issues here that need to be addressed. First, his footwork was messy. He also dances very flat footed and it made this dance look really stompy. His shaping was also off. He also needed more fluidity. It wasn’t my favorite dance of his, but I still saw the progress being made.
12. Chrishell and Gleb- Mm. Okay. So I will say that during the few bars that they did in hold, Chrishell looked great. The rest of it wasn’t that good to me. Chrishell needs to stregthen her core. That’s a problem. And Gleb needs to tighten up his choreography. They really didn’t have much content. Chrishell is improving but I fear we’re getting to a place where all of her potential is going to go unrealized because of her pro.
13. Jesse and Sharna- Mm. Okay. He was looser this week and he wasn’t as off with his timing. However, he was still off. And the dance was mid at best. I’m not sure what his votes are looking like, but to me, this was the worst dance of the night and I feel that he is the worst dancer left. I mean when I watched this all I could think about was Toni Braxton’s cha-cha to the same song and how much better it was than this.
So that’s it. Let me know your thoughts and I will talk to you all soon.

DWTS Athletes Finale Recap
This is sooooo long. Sorry about that.
OMG YOU GUYS I’M STRESSED.
This is going to be my recap tonight which will just be like a horrifying mess of my thought process throughout the hour. Hopefully I don’t accidentally send this to my mother because I might use a lot of bad words…
It’s currently 5:27 PM out here in California and I am STRESSED.
I’m keeping up with the scores and I’m ready to do the live voting when it’s time, but then I’m out. I’ll head to the gym and somehow try to distract myself there. It’s not going to work, but we’ll see.
My feelings regarding the as of now unknown final results (I’m going into this, hopefully not too naively, assuming that Tonya’s third.):
Look. I understand where people are coming from when they say that it’s not just about the pro. It’s supposed to actually be more about the star, and also about their partnership and journey and skills and blah blah blah. I understand that. I 100% do. I promise. However, that does not mean I won’t be a hypocrite (without any hesitation whatsoever) and say I JUST WANT SHARNA TO WIN THE FUCKING TROPHY!!! (Also, is that super ugly trophy we saw like actually it??? How come the mirrorball on top looks like a miniature mirrorball?! I get that it’s a mini season, but spring for the real mirrorball you cheapskates.) If Jenna and Adam win (and I’m just trying to go into it assuming they are so I’m not as disappointed), I will be thrilled for them. They absolutely deserve it and I don’t think I could possibly argue that they don’t, though that might not stop me from trying. I love them both. I’ve always loved Jenna and I have so much love for Adam it’s not even funny. BUT if they win I’m going to be simultaneously thrilled for them and really really really sad for Josh and Sharna. (EDIT: I’m not that sad actually!) By the way, I love Josh, too! I’m not just in this partnership for Sharna! He’s been great this season and he has shown that he can both dance technically and perform (and we didn’t have to expect him to be as good as he is, whereas obviously Adam was going to be good). But again, I’m a hypocrite. I’m in it more for Sharna than I am Josh, but not only for Sharna. You feel me?!
So… Long story short: I WANT JOSH AND SHARNA TO WIN
And also like I’m gonna get over it if Josh and Sharna don’t win. I’ll be okay, just in case you’re concerned about my well-being. (I’m kidding. Mostly.) Like I survived James and Sharna not winning, so I’ll survive this. The sun will still come out tomorrow (maybe not for me though because I live in the Pacific Northwest) and life will go on. I get that. Don’t worry.
Ok. It’s 5:43 now and I feel like I’m gonna puke. I’m not gonna make it all the way to 9. I just won’t.
Random: I’m gonna be a little teeny tiny bit salty that Adam and Jenna have freestyle AND jazz. Just a little salty. Like the super fine salt I put on my popcorn. Just a little because I know that it doesn’t really make a difference. Not really. And as much as I do love Adam and Jenna, I’m about to contradict that when I tell you how loud I screamed when I saw they got 9,9,10 for their freestyle. I think I scared my neighbors cat who’s outside eating dinner right now. I didn’t stick around long enough to see anyone’s reactions to their freestyle (on tumblr, I mean) because I was too busy voting and then I had to get the hell out of there before I saw any results. So I’m curious where those 9s came from?!?!?!
The message I just sent to my mom: “The problem is that I know Adam and Jenna deserve it. But I want Josh and Sharna to win!!!” She says: “Yup”
Ok. It’s 6:00 so a whole bunch of you are currently partying like it’s 1999 and I’m off to distract myself at the gym…
It’s really stressing me out knowing that it’s already happened and I don’t know! Even though I avoid spoilers all the time. Then again, I looked at the results ahead of time for the last two seasons so maybe that’s it. Also why I didn’t watch the last two finales.
Ok. It’s 6:12 and NOW I’m leaving for the gym. If I leave the gym at 7:20, that’ll get me home 7:30 (probably 7:25, but I like a little cushion), in and out of the shower by 7:45, and sitting on my couch with popcorn and hot chocolate by 7:55. Let’s go!
I managed 50 minutes on the treadmill and I was sufficiently distracted by this really good book I’m reading. (Lies We Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley) Now it’s 7:41 and I’m showered and ready to make my popcorn at 7:50… Are you bored of my recap yet?! We’re getting to the good stuff soon!!!
HERE WE GO!!!
I saw Tom on someone’s instagram today (maybe Keo’s) and he was like, “Finale?! That can’t be possible! It’s only week 4!” Same… That’s another thing I keep reminding myself about Josh and Sharna. He’s very very good and it’s only week 4. Imagine what they could have done together in 10 weeks!
I understand we’ve only got an hour, but couldn’t they introduce the finalists with a little more enthusiasm…?
I want to just ignore Tonya and Sasha, but I’ll watch since at least I won’t have to do it again. I wonder if Sasha really believes everything he has been saying this season? Obviously he’s not going to say anything bad about her, but I wonder how much he really believes it, you know? I mean, she seems to be a perfectly pleasant person on the show if I didn’t know any better. She’s definitely a good dancer and I could really appreciate that if she was, you know, not her. If I didn’t have to spend every week hearing how I am falling in love with her and giving her a second chance. I liked the dance just fine. It was pretty enough. Still choosing to assume she’s third?! Actually, my mom looked at the results ahead (she always does unless I’m watching with her and make her wait with me!) and said they don’t announce second and third, but just first?
Bruno saying we got robbed of a Josh and Sharna Argentine tango YESSSS. COULD YOU IMAGINE?! It’s the finale and his first time doing ballroom?! Stupid. Idiotic four week season. I thought the dance was perfectly beautiful. He looked just a little like heavy on his feet? I don’t know. I’m no expert. But I also don’t really care at this point. It’s all over anyways. We got so deprived not having him on a 10 week season. He could have kept getting better and better every single week and him and Sharna clearly have a great relationship and partnership we have not had a chance to enjoy! (I got all hot and bothered at the start of their dance thinking about the way James and Sharna started their fusion dance holding hands. Sigh.) I spy Chris behind Erin! Hi Chris. I’ve missed your beautiful face since last week. Why is Sharna flipping the fuck out like their 9s are 12s?!
Adam and Jenna genuinely have one of the best (and one of my favorite!) partnerships I’ve ever seen on this show in 26 long seasons. I’m truly obsessed with how much they love each other. (I see Anna Trebunskaya behind the judges! Long time no see!) That dance was so fantastically creative of course. It was fantastic and fun and technically beautiful and all that good stuff. I personally thought the lip syncing was irritating, but I know that was part of it so I’ll let it slide. I would have liked some time to know exactly how these dances represented their journeys on the show. Particularly this one. Well shit. They love each other soooo much. Now I want them to win, too! If they do win, the strength and just pure beauty of their bond will make it worth it for me.
I thought I would like a short finale since there’s usually so much nonsense in those 2 hour finales, but this is TOO DAMN FAST! We’re halfway done already!
I cringe everytime Sasha and Tonya say that America has got them to where they are. Because is that really even true?! Obviously she’s been getting some votes since she’s here. I don’t pay that close attention to comments online, but even I know there’s 47 negative comments for every one positive one. Ok. So I’m a little like disoriented because honestly…? I think I kind of liked that?!?!?! I’m pretty sure there was a little section where she went out of sync near the end with her hands. (Carrie Ann! Go put your ass back in your chair!) I figured they would have gone for something dramatic and emotional and I appreciate they didn’t. Honestly, it really worked for her! It was a celebration of her (not that she deserves to be celebrated), which is what the freestyle is supposed to be… I definitely don’t like her (or Sasha) anymore than I did 32 minutes ago. But I didn’t hate that dance.
Um…. Hi Sharna?! Which one of them am I supposed to look at dressed like that in this dance?! Him throwing her over his shoulder and running out of the studio in their package was epic. I have so much to say and not enough time to say it! That was sooooo perfect for them!!! Sharna is absolutely brilliant. And you know what? Sharna comes out looking like that, but I NEVER took my eyes off Josh. (YES CARRIE ANN PRAISING SHARNA! GET YOUR ASS OUT OF YOUR CHAIR AND HUG SHARNA IF YOU LOVE HER SO MUCH!) (Wait why is Artem coming?! Now I know! OMG!) Ok. Back to the dance. Spectacularly creative and brilliant and so powerfully executed. Highlighted and represented Josh soooo well and the all the troupe and others added to the dance and didn’t pull away the attention from Josh. And as emotionally attached to James and Sharna and some of the dances they did together (like their fusion I’ve now mentioned twice tonight, but I’ve moved on…), I think I agree with Carrie Ann! That might be the most incredible and creative choreography we’ve seen from Sharna to date! That was just everything I wanted and more. It wasn’t emotional and heart-wrenching like James’ freestyle. It was strong and powerful and impactful like Josh. Just perfect for him. Sharna did him justice for sure. (My mom on this dance: “Wow!! But she needs to stay out of my closet!) OOH! I knew there was something else! When he lifted her above his head and then threw her higher and DROPPED HIS ARMS before reaching up to catch her?!?!?! That almost killed me. She has so much trust in him. I’m in love.
Briefly on Adam and Jenna’s freestyle because it’s 8:52 and my fingers are shaking as I try to type: 1) The fuck did I just watch?! 2) There wasn’t like… dancing? I mean, it’s a freestyle they can do whatever they want. But I didn’t see dancing? 3) I think this freestyle is a little ahead of its time. Like when Erin and Maks did the very first contemporary freestyle way back in season 10 and the judges didn’t really know what to do with it. That’s how I kind of feel about this. Like I don’t really know what to do with this. 4) I appreciate that he wanted something he felt was meaningful and represented him and obviously I’m not him so I don’t know… But like if you had given me a million guesses on what their freestyle would be like knowing that it represented him, I never would have got to this. It was a let down for me.
I had to go to the bathroom during the commercial so I didn’t wet myself waiting the last six minutes…
I DON’T WANT TO SEE A LAST DANCE FROM ALL OUR COUPLES!!! I NEED TO KNOW WHO WINS!!!
Oh dear. I think I’ve stopped breathing. Here we go. If they really are just announcing 1st and don’t announce 3rd, I might pass out.
Here it comes. It’s happening…
Well…. I knew that was coming. It’s a good thing I was such a big fan of them. Honestly, I’m not even that disappointed for Josh and Sharna. I thought I would be, but I’m really not. I mean, yes… Here’s yet another season of Sharna getting second place. But as a couple/partnership/duo/whatever, I did like Adam and Jenna more than Josh and Sharna. I really felt Adam and Jenna’s relationship tonight (and every night obviously) especially in their first dance and after it. And Jenna absolutely lost her shit. I’m so so so happy for her. And Adam. And her and Adam together. And only a little sad for Sharna. Not nearly as sad as I thought I would be. Maybe I’m growing…?!
It’s now 9:28 and I’m just sitting here on my couch and I keep smiling and saying, “Oh, I’m just really happy for them!”
I think I would have been considerably more inconsolable if Josh and Sharna had actually won.
