Never done solo & super apprehensive of it. I’ve heard many great solo-travel adventures & be like “Wow, u did that ⁉️best part is not having to accommodate a group & doing activities @ ur own pace right? then I’ll daydream about doing it… but still weary. Too much forensic files I suppose 👀 it’s a matter of safety in the unknown foreign space 🤷🏽‍♀️

What’s your take on it? Preference?

The organizers behind Conquest and related events set in that universe, LiveAdventure, are really fucking good at logistics. They run an event with 10.000 people with no more mishaps than your run-of-the-mill 500-people-larp event.

However, on the plot side of things they tend to micromanage the shit out of everything. They used to have a game runner following around each of the kings of the four big important kingdoms, to the point where those players got incredibly fed up. When they voiced their criticism they got reduced to set dressing instead. One of my other characters is the son of one of those kings, they're basically free to do as they please now in exchange for not being involved in plot anymore. And they don't love to see conflict that isn't limited to players vs evil npcs. And even then: stick to the script. It's dumb (not that their plot is great to begin with either- which is why I stick to playing with the street gangs and low fantasy townfolks- who tend to be as irrelevant for the main high fantasy plot as can be).

So you can imagine how pleased they were when some random idiot like me caused some, uh, ripples in the relationship between Atteron (big, knightly player faction which is also an important setting for other larp events in the Mythodea universe), the Feste (biggest player faction) and now the Western Seal (one of the original four kingdoms, essentially).

Conquest was rad, had the most stressful larping experience in ages and all the organizers despise me apparently but at least I, uh, masterfully facilitated a ton of conflict for a lot of people
