21 Sims 2 Custom Loading Screens
Happy New Year Everyone!
I bring you 21 custom loading screens for the sims 2 based on the Clean UI layout.
The photos from the custom loading screens are mainly from Sims 3 screenshots I got via Google (since Sims 3 has the best worlds ngl). Most of it is Maxis pictures, but some are player screenshots. There are also a couple that are from Skyrim and GTA San Andreas.
For players who use custom loading screens you either do one of three: 1. Use a UI replacement mod and only replace the loading screen file in your program files folder (i.e. CleanUi) 2. Use LoadingRandomizer 3. Use LoadingRandomizer for Sims2RPC - This is what I use
If you are 1 and don't have a loading randomizer, only install one loading screen in your game. If else, you can install as much loading screens as you can, but you don't have to install all. You can remove any loading screen that you don't prefer since I had a little fun with the photoshop effects with some.
P.S. The grey borders on the side in the video is not what it looks like in game, it's just a problem with the video. Plus, the actual picture files are actually larger, i cropped it to show how it looks like in my game (1920x1080)
proof (with reshade):
Tumblr media
DOWNLOAD HERE (MODTHESIMS) 👈 the mediafire link is a zip file download containing all 21 custom loading screens, you can pick and choose which to download or not.
Huge credit to greatcheesecakepersona for their clean UI loading screen layout, which I referenced for this.
Disclaimer: If the resolution of your game is less than 1920x1080, some of these loading screens might look a mess in your game, so just test it out, some could still work, though some not.
If I'm asked to take the download down I will gladly do so. I'm just here to share what I already use in my game.

Download: LoadingRandomizer 2 (Post updated 01.11.21)
Tumblr media
After six month of the original release of LoadingRandomizer, here’s an all new version of the application that randomly swaps out loading screens and splash music and then starts the game for you (without any delay).
Whats new? - completely redesigned and easy to use interface - three modes: initial setup, view and change settings & reset LoadingRandomizer - option to only use custom splash music
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Installation: Extract the archive and click on LoadingRandomizer.exe in the /bin folder (with the ? dice icon). I recommend to set a shortcut to it. Since you are using the application for the first time, click on ‘setup LoadingRandomizer’ and follow the steps. If you’re having troubles, check out Pleasant Sims’ tutorial on LoadingRandomizer!
DOWNLOAD
This application only works on Windows machines starting at Windows 7.
If LoadingRandomizer won’t start the game, set administrative rights to the new shortcut and the RandomizeJob.exe in /bin.
Preventing errors: - It’s super important that you don’t touch the ‘bin’ folder at all and don’t rename the custom_loading_screens and custom_splash_music folders. - Make sure put loading screens into ‘custom_loading_screens’ and Splash music into ‘custom_splash_music’. Their filenames don’t matter. - Make sure that you don’t already have a loading screen (= a logo replacement) the UI folder of the basegame - Don’t rename ‘random_loading_screen.package’ in the UI folder after using LoadingRandomizer as you will then get two loading screens which leads to a conflict

How can I make RPC work with GCCP's LoadingRandomizer?
Uuh, I think I might have answered this before, but I couldn't get the Loading Randomizer to work at all on my end, even without RPC it'd always pick the same splash screen and music so I can't really answer this.

Hi Midge, have you been able to make greatcheesecakepersona's LoadingRandomizer work for your game, even though you may or may not use it at the moment?
Hello! I don't use the loading randomizer. I might've tried it out for a sec just to see how it works but I didn't stick with it very long. IIRC for it to work the game needs to be launched through the loading randomizer, not directly, is that maybe your issue?

Applications/utilities that I’m currently using to manage my game.
Greatcheesecakepersona’s LoadingRandomizer, used with their loading screens, replacing the old Fun With Pets one.
Delphy’s Download Organiser, this is essential if you’re like me and use a lot of CC, it cleans things up and sifts through the crap.
Mootilda’s HoodChecker, helps to identify signs of corruption in your ‘hoods; vital if you’re planning on sticking with a ‘hood for a long time.
Numenor’s AnyGameStarter, installed for if I want to run the game without a particular expansion.
SimWardrobe’s Hack Conflict Detection Utility, I use a tonne of mods so I like to keep this on hand for identifying any conflicts.
4GB Patch, non-negotiable for Windows 10 users. More info on it here along with some other helpful tips for compatibility.
SimPE, the ultimate modding tool; more on it here. Use with caution.
Mootilda’s Sims2Pack Clean Installer, a blessing for anyone who uses a lot of CC. Simplifies the process and installs things properly. Highly recommended.

Download: LoadingRandomizer
Tumblr media
This version is outdated! Use the new LoadingRandomizer instead.
Are you bored of the same loading screen and music all the time? While you can certainly swap those out, it always takes some time and you would have to do it manually before every startup.
But no more!
Let LoadingRandomizer do this work. Within a few milliseconds, the application will...
- search for all Splash soundfiles from all your eps/sps - backup the original Splash file from the latest ep/sp (into the app folder) - swap a random file from the list with the current Splash file
- look for all loading screens in the applications /screens folder - copy a random file from the folder to the /UI folder of the main game
- start the correct The Sims 2.exe (with the usual startup time)
I’ve measured it: Zero delay by using LoadingRandomizer!
Installation & first steps:
Extract the zip archive and put the folder anywhere you want. In the /bin folder you’ll see many ddls but most important the program exe. Now create a shortcut to the exe with any name you like (ex. The Sims 2) and better set an icon for this (you can use a Sims 2 exe as an icon!). This is your new shortcut to launch The Sims 2 (and the LoadingRandomizer at the same time)! You can put it anywhere you want, for example the start menu, just like your old shortcut (to the Sims 2.exe).
When you launch the application for the first time (by clicking on the shortcut or executing the normal exe file), you’ll get the information that the path information is missing. Since the application must start & close as fast as possible, it first looks for the paths that are needed for the ‘random swapping’ process. Since the file has to be generated the first time, accept the information and you’ll see the interface.
Tumblr media
You have to set three paths: The path to the Sims 2 root folder, the path to the base game UI folder and the path to your executable of the latest ep/sp.
Click on ‘save and exit’ and now the application will create two or three new files: A file with the UI & executable path in it and a file that contains all paths to the different Splash soundtracks. If you used the window mode option, the application will also create a file with the resolution.
From now on, the application behaves differently since the path file exist. Whenever you launch the application, it closes so quick that you can’t even see it. What happens during that short time is the swapping process described above. Then it will launch The Sims 2.
Adding (new) loading screens:
Put the package files into the /custom_loading_screens folder of the application directory. If the folder is empty (default), the loading screen will of course not change and only the music is being swapped. Choose any name you want, but keep in mind to only put loading screens (= logo replacements) in there!
Adding custom Splash music
Put the package files into the /custom_splash_music folder. Choose whatever name you want. If the folder is empty, only the installed Splash files will be swapped, if there are files in the folder, both will be used. If you don’t want to hear the preinstalled splash music, delete the installed_splashes.txt file. If you don’t like the Splash of a certain ep/sp, delete the correct line in the file.
Download:
LoadingRandomizer
Source Code (not needed!)
Having problems?
Is the application good at doing nothing? Then you might wanna set both the exe and the shortcut to have administrative rights. The application shows an unusual error message? Maybe you are using an unsupported OS like Windows XP or Vista. I’m sorry for this, but there’s nothing I can do about it (limitation from the IDE). Feel free to contact me if you are facing any errors!
More advanced options and information underneath.
Changing settings afterwards
If you made a mistake with your paths, you can set the application back to default mode by deleting the paths.txt file. Then once you execute the application, you can select the paths again. Alternatively you can edit the path file (and so the installed_splash file) which however might result to more work.
Preventing errors
- set the paths correctly - put only loading screens in the /custom_loading_screens folder - put only splash files in the /custom_splash_music folder - make sure you don’t have an additional loading screen in your UI folder, keep it empty before using LoadingRandomizer! - alter the text files correctly if needed - don’t rename any folder - copy the splash_original.package file to another folder just to be save
Known errors
Some stuff packs don’t have their own Splash file (the folder does not contain a Splash file), but as soon there is a new Splash file inserted (by the application), it will create a unnecessary backup file. This is not a huge deal, you just have one file you might not need. I think it’s a minor detail so I won’t add more code.

LoadingRandomizer Fix
Tumblr media
I received some messages that the LoadingRandomizer does not start the game. And thankfully I discovered the issue:
If you don’t choose the window option at the beginning, it won’t launch the game. It only worked in window mode.
That was fixed! The new archive includes a new LoadingRandomizer.exe as well as a readme file. You can download the new version in the original download post or right here.
Sorry for any inconvenience!

hey, just as a note on using loadingrandomizer and RPC! it actually doesn't seem to be compatible? pointing loadingrandomizer to the RPC executable works and launches the game, but i noticed that when i launch the game that way and go into CAS, even though i have the separates ASI installed, only fullbody outfits show up. if i launch directly though RPC, the separates show up like they're supposed to. so something is definitely wonky, i'm just not sure what, and i thought you should know!
Hi! Oh, thanks for letting me know, I'll see what I can do!

Why can't you just stick around and play the game when you feel like it or just use the blog but don't create anything? You're just going to up and leave? At least stay and answer questions? Why not just be active on GOS and discuss sims stuff there for fun?
I'm not sure what to do with my blog after Clean UI is done. Maybe I will post pictures of my game. However I’m thinking about closing my ask box after a good time. It’s a bit of work to answer all these questions.
@yvngdr3am3r asked:
Hey! Just a question about Clean Ui, are you going to edit the Memories and Stuff, are you going to edit the green background to the yellow one in the previews of build mode, etc or are you gonna leave it untouched? It's not a big deal at all i mean you can leave it untouched nobody cares but IF YOU DO you might wanna check out @eddysims icon pack to cut you some slack since is essentially what appears in-game just in a more plain style and in a higher quality.
So the memories panel was already changed in the last update. I'm not sure what you mean with changing a green background to a yellow one. There’s no green background that I can think of.
@tiainyangsims said:
Hi great cheesecake I have a question to ask you see I got sims4 city and I'm trying to customize my own neighborhood in The Sims 2 but is still look like Maxis neighborhoods and it's not floating it is not doing any of that like everyone else's I don't know what I'm doing wrong can you please help
I honestly don’t know what you are trying to ask me
Anonymous asked:
Sadly I dont have any ability to do C++ or related things. On a related-ish note, when saving custom splash music, exactly how do I save the mp3 and with what settings? I added new splash music for LR2, but my game has been refusing to start since I added them
I have a tutorial for that where I used Audacity. However, if your game isn’t starting it should be a LoadingRandomizer problem. Are your paths set correctly?

I honestly already wrapped up the loading screens. They also use the new logo which Birdblinder’s loading screens don’t as for now. But it will be quite easy for everybody to change the background image of the neighborhood select screen!

How do I download Clean UI I can't find the download button anywhere?
I really wish there as a download button on my page as well!
Anonymous asked:
Whoa!!! It looks stunning GCCP!! ...I do have to apologize though for not having linked the exact source for the Chris Hatch mod but in the end; I can't believe how far TS2 has come! 2019 has been a great year for custom content and this is just the cherry on top!! Good job and keep up the great work!
Thank you very much!
Anonymous asked:
Hello! Just dropped by to tell you that clean IU looks amazing, but we have been playing without it for 15 years, sure we can wait until 2020 if you don't have the time to release it before. Take your time and enjoy the development. And also! I'm in love with your seasonal farm fields, and overusing it in Riverblossom Hills soooo much ^^ Thank you!
Hi, thank you! There’s not that much left to do for this project, but my final exam is coming soon. But I really hope you can use Clean UI in 2019!
Anonymous asked:
Sorry if this is a silly question, or something that has been asked before, but will the clean UI make the game (much) heavier? Do you think it's something everyone who wants it will be able to have?
The .package file will have a file size of around 27 megabyte - uncompressed! So it will be less for sure. I don’t really think that it will impact the performance.
@funnycleversims asked:
Hi Sorry if this is a stupid question, but with Hood Planner are you able to export ? This wording "Export and import your road layout, drawing and lot placement" confused me to think you could export to either sims 2 or Sc4. Thanks and this program is a huge help .. thank you for creating it and sharing it.
Thank you! Export means that you can save the road layout, drawing or lot placement so you don’t loose any progress. Sadly this has nothing to do with Sims 2 or SimCity 4!
@sahfairchild asked:
Hi, I would like to know if you intend to change the fonts of the game? Is this in your plans or would it be impossible?
It’s possible to change the fonts, though I’m not sure if adding new fonts is. However I don’t plan to change the fonts of the game.

ok...i'm using your loading screen randomizer with your custom screens (all of them) & they don't look like in the pictures you posted. The logo portion takes over the whole screen so i can't see the pretty backgrounds except in the very corners. Does that make sense? i hope so.... Am i doing something wrong or does that just have to do with my screens resolution?
You have to increase your games resolution to see the background!
Same anon from the loading screen ask... but my custom music won’t work ? I exited & loaded the game several times . I checked off the custom music only box in the LR & it just kept saying if the splash music folder is empty ... is there anywhere in particular I should be putting the splash music folder ?
Custom Splash music belongs in the custom_splash_music folder of LoadingRandomizer, it will then copy the music over to the Sims 2 Splash folder. Do not rename the LR folder for splash music. Also if you tick off the checkbox, it only load one of the preinstalled splash music (if I remember correctly).
Anonymous asked:
When are you gonna get a rest? You must be so f*cking tired of constantly coming back to photoshop
Oh I am, I don’t even want to know how many hours I spend in Photoshop! But it will be over someday...
omgsims2 asked:
hello, i hope you are having a nice day 😀 i saw your post and was wondering if you still need testers for your new ui?
Thank you! I already have enough Clean UI testers, but thanks for the offer.
Anonymous asked:
Hey, I wanted to edit your small logo image (from the loading screens) but I'm not so familiar with SimPe. Can you link a tutorial? Or give any tip?
You open the package file with SimPe. Then click on the jpg/tga/png image and choose ‘Export...’ in the ‘Plugin View’ tab on the bottom. After that you edit the .png file and replace the logo by right clicking on it in SimPe and choosing ‘Replace...’. Save and you’re done!

Hi! No, you don’t need the LoadingRandomizer. You just follow the instructions on the loading screens download page!
Anonymous asked:
Hello there! Any plans on releasing an early (unfinished) version of the UI mod? I can't wait to start using it!
Hi! I already replied to a similiar question.
Anonymous asked:
Hey!, I really love your clean UI, but I just wanted to know if it is available in all languages, like English, Portuguese, Spanish ..
Hi! The language doesn’t matter as Clean UI does not change any texts. So it will be available for all languages.
Did I already mention that I’ll be the happiest person on earth once Clean UI releases?

Download: Christmas themed Loading Screens
Tumblr media
Christmas is coming very soon and I’m sure you are decorating your Sims houses in that fasion. But you know what kind of stuff is totally missing the Christmas spirit?
The endless loading screen! And that’s why I created four widescreen loading screens for both the base game and the Ultimate Collection (just a visual difference, your EP/SPs don’t matter). But that’s not all. You will also be able to listen to three Christmas jingles (Splash music) I got from Nintendo games.
Here’s what you can get:
Tumblr media
Four loading screens, each in a base game and UC version
Three custom Splash music files (They are quite heavy in their file sizes as they are 20-30 minutes long. The reason for that is that a loop occurs multiple times and cutting that off to a seperate file for the game to repeat would have been too much work) Listen to the jingles: A Little Light Snowfall, Animal Crossing (Winter), Slipshod Slopes
Additionally, a small version of the TS3 style logo is included in the SFS folder for the base game and UC. It appears in the ‘hood selection screen. Again, it’s just a visual difference.
Tumblr media
DOWNLOADS: Loading Screens Base Game Loading Screens UC Splash Music
Installation - normal way:
Put one loading screeen and the small logo into the UI folder of the base game. Put one Splash file into the Sound folder of your last EP/SP. You should rename it to ‘Splash.package’ or at least throw out your original Splash file.
Installation with LoadingRandomizer:
After initial setup... - Put all loading screens you like into the ‘custom_loading_screens’ folder. - Put all Splash files you like into the ‘custom_splash_music’ folder. If you want to hear just the new jingles, choose ‘Use custom Splash music only’ in the settings menu.
Guided installation:
Having trouble installing custom loading screens or using the LoadingRandomizer? Check out @sarahsmiles32 guided video tutorial!
Put the small logo in the UI folder of the base game.

Note
What would be the base game for UC?
I’m sure you’re talking about LoadingRandomizer. The base game path is:Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Double Deluxe\BaseAnd then you have to choose the UI folder in TSData/Res, so the full path would be:...\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Double Deluxe\Base\TSData\Res\UI

Hi! I downloaded your Loading Randomizer and it's awesome but now my game is super slow and I would like to uninstall it but don't know how. I deleted the path file, I deleted everything, I made a new shortcut from the game folder and yet when I load the game I can still see your loading screen + logo + the window size I choose when I first used the program. Could you help me?
You should copy the Splash backup file in the LoadingRandomizer folder and rename it to just “Splash.package” and put it pack in the Sounds folder of your last ep/sp. Then you can delete the whole LoadingRandomizer folder and in order to see the original loading screen, you have to delete the loading screen package from the base game UI folder.
Then you should be able to start Sims 2 from the .exe file or a shortcut to it
I really should redo the programm I guess!

Download: 6 New Loading Screens
Tumblr media
Are you tired of the thirteen year old blue background image during the loading screen? Even if not, it‘s so old that it is way too small for todays screen resolutions and so I created completely new loading screens that were taken during the Sims 2 renaissance (2016-2017, colorized).
Features:
- sharp widescreen images for all common resolutions (even > 1920x1080) - new logo in TS3 style (is also being used in the neighborhood selection) - Ultimate Collection and base game versions
This conflicts with all logo replacements!
Overview
In this image you can see all 6 loading screens (3 with the UC logo, 3 with the base game logo). Both versions have all 6 loading screens.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Installation - normal way
Put one loading screen into the UI folder of the base game (.../TSData/Res/UI). The small logo belongs there as well. Make sure there isn’t another package file for a logo replacement (or a small logo replacement).
Installation with LoadingRandomizer
Why not have them all? Put every loading screen you like into the custom_loading_screens folder of the applications folder. The small logo package still belongs in the UI folder.
Special Thanks
A special thanks to @sims-influence for sending me screenshots for a loading screen. You can see the result in loading screen #6.
Download
Loading Screens Ultimate Collection
Loading Screens Base Game
To clarify: It doesn’t matter which version you choose, it’s completely independend from your actual expansion pack.
(sorry for the quite big file size, the images are huge. But it won’t affect the loading time!)
As always - if there’s any issue with the content, please let me know!
