Welcome everyone to Easy Stitches Designs!
Who am I?
My name is Clara, it is nice to meet you all.
I started cross stitching when I was about 6 or 7 years old - I was a hyperactive child in need of socialization. My grandmother had the idea of sending me to the local charity, where women and children would cross stitch patterns to turn into trinkets to sell out and donate the income for the homeless and the poor. I learned the craft, although I did not do much of it later in life. Come quarantine and I am in furlough. Whilst looking for something to pass the time, my grandmother calls me and talks to me of the times I used to do cross stitching. I have received several encouragement words and started again this craft - and it felt as if time never cancelled what I learned. And now, in Lockdown 3.0, I had enough courage to embark myself into this adventure, hoping it will last.

Nije to niÅ”ta neobiÄno, dovoljna je jedna minuta pretraživanja u Google tražilici da se uoÄi jasan obrazac kako se svake godine uoÄi i poÄetkom sezone iz nekog razloga objavljuju katastrofiÄni naslovi i uzimaju izjave āstruÄnjakaā koji najavljuju propast sezone. If there were 20 teens playing football in next doorās garden, youād probably be a bit pissed off right now!
But itās fine for 20 teens to spend 9-3 in a classroom without proper social distancing, not wearing masks. They took a LFT on Monday and itās negative, but itās Friday now.
Theyāre interacting with probably a rotating cast of staff members, probably at least up to 10 adults each week. The adult is probably wearing a mask some of the time, but not distancing properly. Thereās other bubbles of kids in the school, and in theory they donāt interact, but in reality, they do.
Some of those kids are probably getting public transport to school each day. Some of them will probably be going to the supermarket or the corner shop. All of them live with other people, who interact with the wider community.
People are being told to stay at home unless itās absolutely essential they go out in lots of areas with concerns about the new variant- I think we need to talk about how 100% essential it is to have these teens in school.
In April, we had <20 kids coming in each day. Now we probably have 20 per year group. In a mainstream secondary school, there are a very small proportion of children who canāt stay at home without childcare AND have a parent working outside the home right now. And in most cases there are a very small proportion of children who do need regular contact with school for safeguarding reasons.
No child is going to be harmed if they do no schoolwork for 7 weeks (which is the real reason a lot of these kids are in). They face a very real risk of harm if they catch Covid in school and pass it around their family.
