AO3 READING TRACKER

Hi guys! I put together a Google Sheet (access it here) that you can use to track your AO3 reading habits. This was a pet project for me, but it's useful, so I figured I would share it with all of you guys. A couple visuals & things are below the cut. My stats are down here, and bear in mind - I'm a fiend for longfics.

First of all, here are my reading stats. I only have data from October 1st, 2024-November 11th, 2024, which is what makes that 3,364,236 total word count so insane to me. I had no clue I read that much fic. Anyways, if you enter just a few points of data in the reading log, this gets spit out on the data page. Getting the average chapter length calculated took me a while, but not as long as this next part.

It was so much more difficult than I expected to get the "Top Authors by Works" section running, and frankly, I still don't understand this equation entirely:

but that's how you get your top 5 authors. What a nightmare. It works, though, and it's cool to realize which authors you keep coming back to! If you mostly read one-offs it'll give you weird results (I don't really read my #4 and #5s' works) but it's still cool.

The Attention Span Awards let you appreciate how nuts you are. For example, combined, my top 5 fics alone tally up to 2.2 million words (thank you, SUM function!)

Let's move on to a freaky part.

I can't bring myself to be ashamed, but wow. In theory, this pie chart can display G-rated stories, I just apparently haven't READ any.

If you're a major romance reader like me, you'll be excited to discover that you can track how obsessed you are with any given ship over the course of the year! I'm about to plunge into more Reno-centric fic, so we'll be seeing those sections spike soon. (Keep in mind that this section is based on # of works, not word count. THAT would be too much work, I fear.)

If you're so inclined, the sample gives you the option to track fandoms, too. I spend years in fandoms and rarely leave them, so I don't find this useful for myself (which is why you're looking at the sample), but it's still neat!

MUSIC CHART RESULTS

( note: this information is mostly for ooc purposes in case the music charts isn’t updated on time during type zero’s comeback period. )

during the first week of promotions ( which starts from NOVEMBER 14-19 ), TYPE ZERO will receive their first two 1st place wins for this comeback period ( with ‘good boy gone bad’ ) from THE SHOW and SHOW CHAMPION. in the latter end of the first week, ‘good boy gone bad’ will remain in second place while ‘SOS’ will stay in 11th place. for the second week, ‘good boy gone bad’ will drop to third place and then later on in the week, fifth place. then for the final week, their title track will change between fifth and sixth places while ‘SOS’ will go down to 15th place.

overall, congratulations to TYPE ZERO for their wins! BOMIN will be treating the TYPE ZERO members out to dinner for the first week as a reward for their hard work.

PROMOTIONS PERIOD

in terms of schedules, the TYPE ZERO members will be going to KNOWING BROTHERS for the NOVEMBER 18th episode, film a dance relay to their title track ( so something similar to THIS ), and the upcoming season of TYPE V-LOGS.

for the new members, TYPE V-LOGS is a vlog series where the type zero members will film videos about their lives. in this case, these videos will be for during this comeback era/month of november so they will be asked to film behind the scenes about some of the gigs they may be doing, their training activities, and their dorm life. since this is only for TYPE ZERO, no one else outside of the group can be included in the videos. this season’s series will have 10 episodes and be released on TYPE ZERO’s youtube channel starting JANUARY 16 to FEBRUARY 15 ( 2 episodes per week, TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS ).

BOMIN then announces another small project, “it’s going to be announced soon that LGC’S WEBTOON — which originated as PROJECT ORIGIN, will now be an animation series. since all of your alter egos are a part of this universe, LGC has asked TYPE ZERO to record two songs that will be part of their OST.”

The Sims 4 Mod: All Worlds are Residential

This mod turns Destination Worlds - Granite Falls, Selvadorada and Batuu - into Residential worlds, which allows Sims to live in them* and freely travel between them.

*In order to move into one of those worlds, you will need a venue mod, such as Venue Changes, to be able to set lot types to Residential. Moving into Batuu is not possible because of how the world works differently from other worlds.

Even without a venue mod, this mod will still allow your Sims to freely travel between those worlds.

Known Issues

Because of how the UI is coded, you can't access the world select screen while a Sim is in Batuu, even with this mod installed. To travel out of Batuu, you'll need to click the "Go Home" button in the Sim viewer. This only effects Batuu, not the other worlds.

Known Conflicts

This will conflict with any mod that modifies the UI tuning SimData file (545AC67A-006CA304-4AD169DBEC547AEA). This is unlikely to happen as there are very few other reasons to modify that file.

In final hours of legislative session, Colorado Democrats drop bill to raise cigarette taxes, create nicotine tax

Colorado News

Democrats in the Colorado legislature on Thursday introduced an 11th-hour bill that seeks to ask voters in November to raise taxes on cigarettes and start taxing other products that contain nicotine.

House Bill 1427 would ask voters to gradually — but significantly — raise the taxes over the next seven fiscal years.

Whereas taxes on a pack of cigarettes are now 84 cents, the bill would ask voters to allow the state to raise that amount to $1.94 starting next year. Starting in July 2024, taxes on a pack of cigarettes would then rise to $2.24 a pack. Then in July 2027 and moving forward, the taxes would be $2.64 a pack.

Nicotine products, including vaping devices and fuel, would be taxed at 50% of their manufacturer’s list price starting next year if voters sign off. Starting in July 2024, that would rise to 56% of the list price. Then in July 2027 and moving forward, the taxes would be 62% of nicotine products’ market list price

Vaping products aren’t currently taxed in Colorado.

The bill was introduced Thursday, a day before the legislature was originally supposed to adjourn after returning for three weeks following a two-month-plus coronavirus pause. It appears lawmaking will stretch into the weekend now in order to accommodate House Bill 1427 and other last-minute legislation.

The measure was introduced with such haste that its 43 pages of text hadn’t been posted on the legislature’s website before it was scheduled for its first committee hearing on Thursday afternoon.

Another sign of how fast it was introduced: Despite its wide-ranging impacts, only two people showed up to testify on the bill during the 20-minute hearing. They both advocated for the measure.

“I know that it’s all come kind of fast and furious,” Rep. Yadira Caraveo, a Thornton Democrat who is leading the push for the bill, said during the hearing.

Legislative fiscal analysts believe the proposed tax hike would net the state about $86 million in the 2020-21 fiscal year, which begins in July. In the following fiscal year, the state would collect more than $173 million.

State Rep. Julie McCluskie, a Dillion Democrat and prime sponsor of the bill, said she hopes the bill will help bolster the state’s ailing budget, which has taken a major hit as a result of the coronavirus crisis. At first, revenue generated by the taxes will go toward backfilling the state’s coffers.

After that, revenue from the taxes would be distributed to fund health care, tobacco education, preschool and other programs.

If voters approve the tax increase, it will start being enforced in 2021.

Supporters of the measure say it will help drive down tobacco use.

The bill passed its first hurdle, the House Finance Committee, within about 20 minutes and on a 6-to-5 vote. Republicans voiced opposition to the speed at which it was released.

 “We got this bill after we even sat down in here. It’s 43 pages. I just can’t support it right know. It sounds good but I just can’t support it right now,” said Rep. Janice Rich, a Grand Junction Republican.

The bill comes after a similar attempt to ask voters to raise cigarette taxes and enact a nicotine tax last year failed. Democrats in the Colorado Senate rejected the bill in the final days of the 2019 lawmaking term, in part because of concerns that it was regressive.

Last year’s legislation had the support of Gov. Jared Polis. The tobacco industry lobbied heavily against the measure.
