I know it's a bit of a stupid question seeing your header but is Loustat your favorite VC ship? On the show only ,book? Do you have other favorites? One you really wanna see on screen?

I wouldn't really call them ships, since they're all canon relationships, but yeah, Loustat are a favorite and the only one I write (right now). I would really love to see Gabrielle and Sevraine, as well as Seth and Fareed, in addition to Armand and Daniel (more of / properly^^).

Louis is almost the very image of Nicki. With his dark hair, pale countenance, and persistent pouts they are the same. But unlike Nicki, Louis has taken a hold of Lestat’s heart in a way Nicki was never able to do.

part 2 to this Lestat/Nicki short fic

There is something about Louis that endlessly fascinates Lestat. If he grows tired of watching Louis’ face, which Lestat never truly does, he can entertain himself by holding a conversation with him. Sometimes the things Louis says make Lestat laugh for days and other things can darken his mood until he feels a need to hurl an insult at Louis so vicious that it will make Louis spill blood tears for nights on end. When that happens Lestat does feel a little remorseful but the feeling almost always fades to fascination because watching Louis cry is even more entertaining than listening to one of Louis’ unintended jokes. The way the blood tears stain his ashen cheeks and the whites around his emerald eyes flood with red are magical. Truly, everything about his Louis is magical. Lestat knows that he is in a love so deep that it makes life itself brighter. The nights don’t feel so cold anymore. The moonlight has gained a new brilliance. Even blood tastes sweeter when it splashes on his tongue and slides down his throat. To think he’d find this type of love in New Orleans of all places!

But, no. Once again, time spares nothing. It will change all things that you think are ever lasting and true.

Like love.

Louis used to love him. Lestat knows this because despite his teasing and mild harassments Louis had remained by his side. Loyal and pliant. Always watching him back with the same intensity with which Lestat watched him. And on some nights the love they held for each other would result in sessions of taking blood from each other, the vampiric form of making love.

In every conceivable way they had been lovers. But time ate away at their love until Lestat had been pushed to absolute desperation. After losing Nicki he couldn’t lose Louis. He simply couldn’t. That desperation to keep Louis by his side had resulted in the making of their daughter Claudia. Lestat had quickly grown to love Claudia with the same fervor he had held for Nicki and Louis. She was an entirely different kind of love though. The type of love not outlined by bodily desire or lust but something more innocent. It was the kind of love he imagined a father would have for his daughter. He doted on her, he and Louis both did. They had given her everything she had desired within reason of course. She; their precious daughter and them her giving fathers. His act of desperation had been a success. Louis loved him again and Claudia loved him too. All was well for a while. Together the three of them, living in their own little world in the Rue Royal.

Until that bliss came to a bitter, swampy, fiery end.

And so, after Louis and Claudia’s betrayal Lestat was done with love. He wanted it still of course, but he refused to look for another soul to unload his love on. He had been too wounded by it. Each and every endeavor had ended with Lestat alone. He didn’t want to try and see if he could fall in love again. He didn’t want to know if he could possibly love someone even more than he did Louis and Claudia.

But, time, as always, doesn’t care what you want.

Alone, and holed up in an empty house reading pages upon pages of books in a bid to appease his loneliness love found Lestat.
